At the park, Phyllis is livid. She tells Jack that Billy slept with Fiona, the cosmetics buyer for Dillman’s department store, to score shelf space. Jack isn’t surprised by Billy’s MO. Phyllis paid Billy a visit and feared he was turning into Victor, so she slapped him. Jack is astonished. She did it for Jack---and for Victoria and Johnny and Katie and all the others Billy has hurt. And for Phyllis, Jack says. But is one department store contract worth the trouble? He supposes now Phyllis sees that Billy is too far gone to help. He’s an addict and will have to hit rock bottom before he chooses to change.

Billy and Fiona cuddle up on his sofa with a couple of glasses of wine. They’re about to kiss when Victoria arrives—early—with the children. It’s Billy’s night to have them. Naturally, Victoria is horrified. While Fiona nips upstairs to dress (she’s wearing Billy’s robe), Victoria threatens to call the police. [It’s not clear what she would have them do.] Fiona returns, fully clothed, and refers to the last woman who visited Billy. She, Phyllis Abbott, slapped him. Things go from bad to worse for Billy.

At the lab, Dr. Neville and Ashley tell Dylan that Max did indeed trip Abby. He said it was a prank. Dylan doesn’t believe that; besides, Max has bigger problems. Evidence shows he started the fire at the athletic club. Ashley feels terrible for doubting Abby, who suspected all along that Max had it in for her. In the office, in Ben’s presence, Abby confronts Max. Together, she and his father will deal with him. Max panics and accuses Abby of trying to get rid of him. She has no such intentions, but clearly he needs professional help. Abby returns to Dylan in the lab. Child Services had better hurry. Max wants to run and Ben seems to be considering it.

Fiona makes a smart-aleck remark to Victoria about Victor before she leaves Billy’s house. Victoria turns to Billy. She feels nothing but grateful to be free of him. She’ll pick up the children tomorrow. Billy focuses on Johnny and talks up the playroom he created for him.

At the lab, Abby reflects on her wild youth and appreciates what her mother went through. She frets over Ben’s reaction to Max’s antics. He’s shutting out Abby. Inside the office, Ben tells Max they have to stay in town and face the music. Regardless what happens, Ben will always love Max. For now, he’d like the unvarnished truth about Max’s “prank.” Max confesses that losing his mother threw him for a loop. Then suddenly he had stepmother and a sibling on the way. Max felt pushed aside and just wanted his dad to himself.

Victoria saunters into Hank’s bar and asks for Travis, just like a regular. Travis emerges from another room and jokes with the other bartender about “Tori’s” drink preferences, aloof manner, and need for change for the jukebox. From her demeanor, Travis assumes she had a tough day at the office. Why doesn’t she quit her job and pursue her dreams?

Jack and Phyllis take a table at the athletic club. She’s famished until she spots Fiona at the door. Fiona approaches. Jack is cordial. He has confidence in Jabot’s contract with her, but he shouldn’t. Fiona dislikes being in the middle of a family dispute and has decided to drop both Jabot and Brash & Sassy products. She leaves. Damn that Billy! Jack leaves to handle the situation.

Dr. Neville approaches Dylan in the lab hallway. He’s grown fond of Max. He has great potential, but his dissociation from his actions is disturbing. In fact, he reminds the doctor of a kid he knew in Ohio. Max needs a strong authority figure, like Dylan.

In Ashley’s office, Ben tells Max that he must address his uncontrolled anger, but he won’t have to do it alone. Ben will be with him throughout the process. Dylan enters and contradicts him. Child Services needs to interview Max alone. Ben begs to come along but the answer is no.

Victoria sips her glass of white wine and tells Travis that it’s not so easy for her to pull up stakes. It’s not as though she’s a bartender who could go anywhere and find a job in a dingy bar like this one. Travis lets her in on a secret. He doesn’t just pour drinks at Hank’s; he owns the place. Oops. She apologizes. Well, it looks as though they’re both stuck in Genoa City. Travis leads Victoria to the dance floor and selects a slow song. While they dance, a spy sits at the bar and [not so discreetly] takes photos with his phone.

Fiona and Phyllis pass time at the club bar. Fiona doesn’t keep Phyllis in suspense: She didn’t sleep with Billy. But she knows Phyllis would like to. Phyllis scoffs. Fiona smiles and taunts her, knowing that Phyllis must keep her emotions in check lest people get ideas.

Jack barges into Billy’s house. They have it out while the kids play in the next room. Jack claims to know what happened between Billy and Phyllis. Meaning what exactly? Billy asks. Billy is out of control in every aspect of his life, first family and now business.

Max wails and clings to “Daddy.” Abby, on the other side of the door, swallows hard. She’s never heard Max refer to Ben that way. Dylan drags Max past Abby, Ashley, and Dr. Neville.

Travis kisses Victoria. She doesn’t pull away until he invites her to his home down the street. She grabs her purse from the bar and flees.

Back at the lab, Ben lays into Dylan. Some friend! He cries, refuses Abby’s attempt to comfort him, and storms off. Ashley consoles Abby, who blames herself for the turn of events.
