At the rooftop restaurant, Jack and Phyllis assure Summer’s safety. She’ll be tailed by a bodyguard, which is nothing new for her.

Ian Ward, dressed in typical Midwestern garb—a plaid shirt and baseball cap, sits on a park bench and congratulates himself for a job well done. The Paragon Project is wreaking havoc.

At Jabot, Billy and Kyle argue about the morality of purchasing Newman assets at bargain basement prices. Seeing that Billy is unfazed, Kyle tries a different tack. He’s worried about what Victor might do to Uncle Billy in retaliation.

In his office, Victor comes unglued and takes out his frustrations on the first available targets: Victoria and Abby, just released from police custody. The fact that they were arrested while helping Billy further rankles him.

Paul and Patty visit at Fairview. He praises her progress, although something obviously troubles her. Why is OK for another patient to lie? Meanwhile, the doctor tends to Sharon, mother-to-be.

Chelsea boots Adam from the penthouse and vows to make him pay for what he did to Delia. He agrees to go for now, but not for good. Connor is his son too. She disagrees. Gabriel Bingham has no son.

Billy is smug about sticking it to Victor and suggests Kyle do whatever necessary to pacify Summer. In a last ditch effort, Kyle invokes the name of John Abbott. He’d be disappointed in Billy.

Jack leaves the ladies in the restaurant when he gets Kyle’s distress call and heads to Jabot. Summer frets about her mom’s safety. After all, she’s Ian’s most recent focus. In the midst of this, Phyllis gets a call. She excuses herself without explanation.

Adam intends to tell Connor that he’s his father, as agreed. Chelsea sneers. Adam is hateful, a liar, and a bad role model. His callous disregard of Delia further enrages her. He’ll never change. No, Adam will make things right. He’ll stop the computer virus. Even if that were possible, Chelsea has accepted that she and Adam are doomed. She closes the door and dissolves into tears.

Paul pops into Sharon’s room for a quick visit. She’s practically family, after all. They chat about Dylan and about Patty. She’s had her ups and downs, but today, in particular, something weighs on her. In the next room, Patty agonizes over withholding information from her brother. In an attempt to ease Patty’s conscience, the doctor tells her that she ran a pregnancy test on Sharon.

Phyllis meets Ian in the park, as he requested.

Patty startles Sharon in her room. She’s relieved to know that Sharon isn’t lying about having a baby. It’s so exiting! Sharon is alarmed by Patty’s knowledge but happy for the confirmation.

Billy is unapologetic to Jack. Make no mistake, if the tables were turned, Victor would screw the Abbotts. And that, Jack says, it exactly why the Abbotts shouldn’t do it. Still, Billy won’t budge.

Victor rails against Billy and Ashley and shoots down every one of Victoria’s and Abby’s suggestions. Silly girls, the damage is done; there’s no “turning off” the virus. When it gets personal, Abby flounces out.

Yes, Ian deceived Phyllis, but their friendship is genuine—for him, anyway. Not for Phyllis. He points out that they, including her husband, have a common enemy in Victor. He pats the bench next to him and begs her to sit. He has lots to tell.

When the doctor returns to Sharon’s room, she notices a distinct mood shift. Sharon is all smiles, says she feels much better, and is ready to check herself out. The doctor discourages her. According to Sharon’s blood work, she’s in the throes of a bipolar episode. For the sake of the baby, Sharon agrees to stay. The doctor administers a new drug. It acts quickly, and soon Sharon is asleep on her bed.

While Victoria and Victor do damage control over the phone, Jack enters the office. He recruits Victoria to talk sense to Billy. She leaves. Isn’t Victor going to thank Jack?

Adam is forced to leave a message on Ian’s phone: End the virus.

Ian concedes that he had a partner in the Paragon Project. Does she care to guess who it might be? Victor has so many enemies that she wouldn’t know where to begin. He narrows it down to Victor’s *dead* enemies and reveals that it’s the man’s own son Adam.

Victor will not thank Jack, and he will not end the war between the families. Whoever is behind this latest assault is someone close to the Abbotts.

Ian returns Adam’s call and tells him about his meeting with Phyllis. He gives few details but says that the Paragon Project is unstoppable and that Gabriel Bingham is no longer a factor.

At Jabot, Billy is immune to Victoria’s pleas for decency. She notes that the gleam in his eye is similar to the one he got while he was gambling. It’s as though he’s addicted to revenge against her father. Chelsea barges in and demands an audience with Billy. She ignores Victoria’s attempt to oust her and blurts out that Adam is alive; he’s in Genoa City; and he’s been going by the name of Gabriel Bingham.

Patty hovers over Sharon as she sleeps. She presents the pair of booties she made and babbles about baby names. The doctor enters and scolds Patty for being there.

In the park, Paul and another officer arrest Ian without incident.

Phyllis joins Jack in Victor’s office. She has the last piece to the puzzle. Adam isn’t dead.
