The Y&R Update Tuesday 9/1/15

Sharon begs Dylan to stay home with her. Not that he’s complaining, but he wonders why. Because she’s in love, of course. He’s not convinced that’s the only reason.

Nikki enters Victor’s office, eager to hear what he discovered about Neil’s alibi. Neil’s thirst for revenge against Hilary and Devon worries her. It could cause him to start drinking again. Neil’s credit card activity places him in the Canadian Rockies at the time of Hilary’s disappearance, just as he said. Nikki is relieved.

At the athletic club, Neil, Cane, and Lily pledge their support to Devon. Devon is sure Hilary is alive. If only he could help search for her. Things go from bad to worse when Paul arrests Devon and cuffs him.

While Mariah tidies up at the Underground, she thinks about Sharon’s miscarriage and that Dylan doesn’t know about it. Noah interrupts. They need to talk about Mom. Dylan is concerned about her. He can tell from Mariah’s expression that she is too and suspects she’s withholding information. If, as Noah suspects, Sharon is on the verge of a bipolar episode, Dylan must be prepared. Mariah accuses Noah of overreacting. She leaves abruptly, with no explanation.

On the club roof, Lily’s hand-wringing causes Cane to wonder. Does Lily think Devon could be guilty? Is there something she’s not telling him? He becomes angry. After all they’ve been through, she’s still keeping secrets. She invites him to sit and explains. Devon might have had intercourse with a hooker at his bachelor party. His memory is fuzzy. Lily kept quiet, hoping it would blow over, but clearly it hasn’t. She fears Hilary might have learned about it.

Mariah barges into Sharon’s living room and finds her mother and Dylan snuggling on the sofa. While Dylan prepares for work, Mariah apologizes for her poor timing, but she must warn Sharon that her plan is a bad one. Dylan deserves to know the truth. In addition, he and Noah have been discussing Sharon’s odd behavior of late.

Marisa, having overheard Noah and Mariah’s conversation, offers her unsolicited advice: Stay out of Sharon and Dylan’s business. Noah respectfully disagrees. Dylan is a man in love, like Noah. He suspects Marisa feels likewise.

Michael comes to Devon’s aid at the police station and—for some reason—scolds Paul for doing his job. Paul executed a warrant, as required. Devon will be extradited tomorrow.

Neil tells Nikki and Victor about Devon’s arrest. It’s based on circumstantial evidence, but that happens all the time, right? After Nikki leaves the office, Neil demands the full story from Victor, whose PI is on the case. Instead, Victor questions Neil about his Canadian vacation.

Marisa’s response to Noah’s kiss tells him all he needs to know. He’d like her to move in with him, not into the apartment he had with Courtney. They’ll find their own place and start fresh. She hesitates.

Michael isn’t hopeful and apologizes to Devon. Outside the interrogation room, Nikki begs Paul for leniency. Devon is the son of her good friend Neil. Paul is bitter. Yes, he’s aware of their friendship. Nikki hopes Paul isn’t punishing Neil for the accident that caused Chris to miscarry. Paul is insulted.

After viewing Neil’s snapshots of Banff and bighorn sheep, Victor busts him. His investigator found that Neil took a sizeable amount of cash to Virgin Gorda and checked into a hotel under an assumed name. Neil confesses. Lying to Victor is never a good idea. In exchange for his silence, Victor demands that Neil avoid Nikki. He’s been a bad influence on her. Neil is dismissed.

While Mariah urges Sharon to come clean, Dylan peeks into Sharon’s pill box in her nightstand. Empty. So she *has* been taking her medication.

Judge Gates arrives at the police station, in golf attire. He exchanges pleasantries with Nikki before ordering Devon’s release. He’s blocked the extradition. Even privately, the judge refuses to reveal details to Michael. Michael sighs. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Dylan returns to the living room. After Mariah takes off, Sharon attempts to pick up where they left off, but he resists. His conscience gets the better of him and he admits to his snooping. He’s sorry for doubting her. To his consternation, she apologizes too. For what? She’s been keeping a secret.

As Noah awaits Marisa’s answer, a messenger arrives with a delivery for her from Newman Enterprises. She opens the envelope in Noah’s presence. Why is Grandpa sending her a $500,000 check?

Nikki finds Neil at the club and tells him the good news. Devon has been granted a temporary reprieve. Neil should be relieved, but he’s not. Some friend she is, assuming Neil’s guilt.

Lily is overjoyed to see Devon on the rooftop. He’s free—for now. While she leaves to tend to business, Cane badgers Devon about his indiscretion; in fact, he pushes a little too hard and gets a punch in the nose.

Marisa admits that Victor hoped to drive her from Genoa City, but she’s not going. She never even considered it. Oh, yes, she did. Victor looms in the doorway.
