Avery arrives at Joe’s suite and is surprised to hear they’re having dinner with Jack and Phyllis. Joe needs donors for his charity. Downstairs, Jack is unenthusiastic but Phyllis begs him to stay. For Phyllis, it’s more about Joe’s possible interest in her sister.

At Crimson Lights, Jill and Cane have a professional disagreement. Cane would like to revisit the power structure at Chancellor, but she declares her word final.

Michael wraps up things at the office in preparation for a night out with Lauren. His first round of treatment is nearly over, with promising results. Kevin barges in and Lauren leaves. Michael summoned? What did Kevin do to get suspended from his job?

Dylan checks on Sharon at her home. He’s followed through the door by Noah and Courtney with news. Sharon is stunned that they’re to be married—tomorrow. Still, she grants her blessing.

Cane agreed to serve as second in command under circumstances that no longer apply. On top of that, Jill violated a condition of her reign at Chancellor. Colin was to play no role.

Kevin refuses to explain why he used a police department computer for personal business. Michael explodes. He can no longer be his brother’s keeper.

Jack observes that Joe’s new project is quite a departure from the real estate project that brought him to Genoa City and made him persona non grata. Privately, Avery assures Phyllis that her relationship with Joe is professional. Phyllis isn’t convinced. Joe eventually wins over Jack and Phyllis’s support. They’re particularly touched by his personal experience with domestic violence, which is what compelled him to take over a women’s charity.

Colin listens as Jill plays amateur psychologist. Cane’s marriage hit a rough patch, and he’s taking out his frustrations on Jill. Cane scoffs. He and Lily are back on track, for her information. In any case, Jill sees Lauren on the patio and excuses herself. Cane dismisses his father, who, in a parting shot, advises Cane to find another company to run. Cane isn’t interested.

Why is Michael so tense? Did he get bad news? On the contrary, the news is all good. Kevin doesn’t buy it. He correctly guesses problems on the home front. Michael isn’t the same man as he was pre-treatment, and Lauren refuses to acknowledge it. Kevin doesn’t see the big deal. Don’t try to go back in time. Go forward.

While Sharon has a gander at Courtney’s ring, Noah speaks with Dylan. Why is he there? Dylan is looking for the truth. Wrong answer. Noah accuses him of duplicity. Dylan thinks Sharon is guilty and is trying to catch her by pretending to be her friend. His raised voice draws Sharon’s attention. Noah tells her that Dylan thinks she murdered Austin because of the interview she did. For the record, Noah and Courtney think Sharon is innocent. Sharon begs a moment with Dylan. How could he! He knows she lied to him about her drive the night of the incident. Faith told him a different story.

Jack opens his pocketbook and those of his wedding guests. He and Phyllis will request donations rather than more baubles they don’t need. Joe thanks them, as does Avery. “It means a lot to us,” she says. Phyllis notes her choice of pronoun.

Sharon had a panic attack and drove around aimlessly. That’s the truth. She’s aggravated by Dylan’s further questions and sarcastically confesses to murdering Austin and disposing of his body, all with her sleeping child in the car. Admit it: Dylan thinks she’s crazy.

Back in Joe’s suite, Avery praises him. He thanks her and hugs her. She breaks loose and makes a quick exit.

On the Crimson Lights patio, Kevin is displeased with Noah’s indiscretion. Courtney is ready to proceed with the computer hacking on her own, with Kevin’s coaching. Noah disapproves.

Dylan knows about the damning interview Sharon did with Austin but hasn’t breathed a word to anyone else, including Nick. It occurs to Sharon that she could be accused of using Nick’s misdeed as leverage in the custody dispute. Dylan won’t lie; it looks bad. He leaves as ordered.

Michael gets to the club and sees Lauren and Cane chatting and laughing at the bar. He ducks out of sight and calls her to cancel because of work. Cane is at loose ends too, with Lily at a meeting. He suggests dinner and she accepts.

Courtney pacifies Noah. Tomorrow she’ll be a bride, but for today, she has police work to do. A killer is on the loose. Well, OK, but he doesn’t like it.

Avery and Dylan meet back at her place. Avery tells him where she was and what she was doing. He’s less forthcoming. They’re both tired and turn in.

Alone, Sharon has a terrifying memory flash.
