At the Abbott home, Phyllis admits she’s not OK. Jack thinks the drugs Phyllis received caused her erratic behavior, and he’s enlisted the help of a psychologist. Initially Phyllis resists but ultimately agrees.

Ben is concerned when he sees Kelly back at work; she was poisoned. She blows it off and is ready to accept Jack and Phyllis’s relationship. He’s honoring a commitment he made to her before her accident. Or maybe he really loves her, Ben suggests. Paul arrives and asks to speak with Kelly about the antifreeze found in her system. He’s moving forward with his investigation despite the lack of evidence.

Victoria bustles around her dad’s office, planning Katie’s christening. Victor enters but is distracted. She knows why: the possibility of the warehouse deal falling through is eating at him. She encourages him to unload Chancellor Industries, but he refuses.

At the club, Colin urges Jill to deliver the cash he gave her to Victor and take what’s rightfully hers. She’s suspicious about the source of the money. Cane, Lily, and Devon approach and press him to tell. Especially Devon. Colin is evasive. All they need to know is that there are no strings attached. It would be a moot point if someone else had come through, Lily says, casting a glance a Devon. What has he done with his money? Devon excuses himself and Cane pursues him. Did he give money to Colin? Does Colin have leverage? Is it Hilary? Of course not. Devon and Hilary are through.

At their apartment, Neil asks Hilary why she’s so sad. Is it their plans to start a family? No. She regrets going to the spa. Thinking she feels guilty about neglecting him, he assures her he doesn’t need coddling. He wants her to trust him enough to tell him anything.

Victor will not turn over Chancellor to Cane. It was his Bonaventure fiasco that put the financial squeeze on Victor. But if Victor sold the company, he wouldn’t need to sell the warehouse property. Is it really worth the public shunning and strain on his marriage? Apparently so.

Hilary demands honesty from Neil as well. She answered a call from his eye doctor. He tells her about the treatment he’s been undergoing and the promise it shows for restoring his vision. She’s thrilled and wants to accompany him to his appointment, but he’d rather go alone.

Kelly won’t cooperate with the investigation, but Paul guesses, correctly, that Phyllis is the possible culprit. Isn’t Kelly afraid? No, Phyllis isn’t so tough. In fact, she’s to be pitied rather than feared. Frankly, Kelly’s worried about Jack.

At the psychologist’s office, Phyllis speculates about her sanity. She readily admits that she hates Kelly, but whether she acted on that hatred is in question. In the hallway, where Jack waits, he encounters Kelly on her way to a follow-up appointment. She tries to avoid conversation because it could upset Phyllis, but Jack wants to apologize.

At the apartment, Hilary tells Devon about Neil’s possible breakthrough. Selfish as it sounds, it could be good for Hilary and Devon.

Cane questions Colin about the money and the risk associated with it. Colin insists that it’s legit. He wants to make up for tanking Cane’s career at Newman.

Ben runs into Victoria and Katie in the park. Victoria wants him at the christening, but he thinks it’s a bad idea. He doesn’t want to cause tension. She laughs. Her family causes nothing but! He agrees to come.

Jill marches into Victor’s office and presents him a briefcase full of cash. He glances at it and pronounces it short. This is a down payment; she’ll get the rest. Not good enough. She needles him for trashing Katherine’s company. He chides her for conducting business like a drug dealer. Jill leaves, vowing to fight. Then she’ll go down in grand fashion, he says, which may have been Katherine’s wish.

Phyllis came back after a yearlong coma expecting to resume her life but was instead treated as an interloper. Jack was in love with Kelly, and he looks at Phyllis with pity. The doctor disagrees. Jack looks at her with love. She suggests Phyllis make amends with those she hurt.

Jack thinks Victor is to blame for Phyllis’s problems. It makes no difference to Kelly. She’s not pressing charges against Phyllis. He thanks her. Phyllis walks out in time to see them embracing, but instead of acting out, Phyllis is conciliatory. Kelly accepts her apology and leaves. Jack is proud of Phyllis. Later, at home, he dismisses her insecurities and pledges his love.

Lacking security video, Paul asks Lily's permission to interview the club staff, which she grants. Kelly returns and tells Lily to put a stop to the investigation. She thinks Jack is coming to realize that Phyllis isn’t the woman he once loved.

Hilary and Devon agree it will be hard to tell Neil about the two of them. He’s been so attentive to Hilary lately. Devon says they’ll face it together. Neil enters but of course doesn’t see them in each other’s arms. Privately, Neil tells Devon about his treatment and why he kept it a secret. He didn’t want to give anyone false hope. Whatever comes of it, he’s sure of one thing: Hilary loves him. She overhears.

Jill returns to the club, flops on the sofa, and tells Cane and Colin no deal. Colin isn’t giving up.

Back in his office, Victor reflects on a conversation he had with Katherine while he lay in a hospital bed. He’d said they were a lot alike, lashing out when their backs were against the wall. She doesn’t disagree entirely but emphasizes the importance family relationships.
