Neil has breakfast ready for Dru. She sees his watch as he pours the coffee and thinks the timing is off, as her alarm clock was supposed to go off an hour and a half ago. He shut it off so they could spend more time together. She flips. She had an appointment a half hour ago and it was something Jack went out of his way to set up for her. She thinks Neil didn’t want her to make it to her meeting. He tries to sweet talk her into the bedroom to smooth things over but she isn’t having any of it. He promises it won’t happen again to which Dru asks why he would think there would be a next time. Neil thinks she could drive a man to drink. What can drive Dru to drink is Olivia, who is at the door. Dru invites her in for breakfast, seeing as how she has missed her important meeting because Neil has declared it National Half-Day of Work. He loses his appetite and leaves. Olivia tells her to quit her job before it’s too late.
Wes has returned from Paris and is with Lily in the coffeehouse. She wonders if there is another reason he went back other than to check into work. She tells him her parents have been busy. He asks if everything is all right. At first she blows off the question then admits her parents are miserable to be around. She’s angry her mother picked her father over Wes. All they do is fight about work. She stays in her room with her headphones on most of the time. She stayed at the Abbots because she couldn’t take it anymore. She believes there is a reason why they divorced and nothing has changed. She doesn’t think her father is right for her mother – Wes was the one who made her happy. Wes reminds her they are her family and they are trying their best. Lily becomes angry and storms out.
Billy and Mac are having breakfast and discussing Raul’s moping when he comes into the kitchen all happy and whistling. He claims to be in a good mood because he slept great and perhaps things aren’t so bad after all – he has family, friends, and school. Mac asks if he has a class. He’s skipping because it’s a special occasion. That’s it, Mac needs to know what has gotten into him. He points to Brittany and says to ask her.
Nikki comes downstairs to find that Victor spent the night on the couch. She wants to know how things went with Nick. He tells her not to hold her breath on any progress, Nick still doesn’t want to hold any responsibility. He tells her of the letters. She twitters about Nick not getting one. He gives Sharon’s explanation as to why he didn’t. Victor doesn’t believe things will ever be the same between those two again and he won’t get involved anymore. Nikki tells him to give Nick time. He doesn’t believe it’s that simple and relates what was said to him.
Victoria is having coffee at Nick’s. She tries to get him to smooth things over. Nick feels Sharon abandoned her family because of his father’s meddling – if he had left well enough alone, they may have been together still. He doesn’t know how he feels about Sharon but he wants her home for their children’s sake. Victoria asks about Cassie. Dr. Walker thinks she will recover fully but has warned there may be some psychological or emotional effects. She cried herself to sleep while clutching Sharon’s letter. Victoria hopes Sharon doesn’t come back. Nick doesn’t think she will so there’s no point in even thinking about it. Victoria suggests Nick move forward. He wonders if his father was right, he was the one who drove Sharon away but he can’t forget seeing Sharon and Victor kiss. He decides he is going to try and forget about her.
Brittany tells Mac and Billy she is pregnant, she has all the symptoms. She turns her attention to the loft. She likes what they’ve done but wants to add her own touches. She asks what’s new with them. They tell her of their engagement. She wants to see the ring but there isn’t one – not enough money. She asks why the rush when they tell her the wedding is next month. It was a spontaneous decision and they don’t see the point in waiting. Brittany asks how their families took the news. Mac hasn’t even told hers yet. They ask how Brittany is feeling. She feels sick and not just because of the pregnancy – she is dreading seeing her folks. When they find out she hasn’t seen a doctor, Mac suggests perhaps she isn’t pregnant. Brittany is sure she is. They leave for class and Raul goes to the drug store for the pregnancy test.
Dru comes out of the bedroom dressed. Olivia is still there. She’s worried about Dru butting heads with Ashley and now fighting with Neil. (Hey Olivia, it’s none of your business!) Dru explains what the fight with Neil was about and asks why she’s there. She claims she’s just reaching out but then asks if Dru’s heard from Wes. Dru wants to know if Olivia is concerned about anything happening between her and Wes, then tells her to talk to Wes because he is an upfront person, unlike other people she knows. Olivia hasn’t heard from him in a week. Dru wonders if she’s been leaving messages that he hasn’t returned. Olivia wants a straight answer and accuses Dru of being nasty. Dru tells her she’s the one who came in with unwanted advice. Olivia thinks Dru is giving attitude because she doesn’t want to let Wes go. Dru tells her to leave. She opens the door and Wes is standing there.
Raul returns with the test and hands it to Brittany. She doesn’t want to take it. She’s afraid of the result. He’s scared too but they will get through it together. If it’s positive she’ll go to a doctor and they will make plans. While she was gone he thought about their future. He mentions with a baby on the way, things have sped up but he wants to take the next step – get married. Brittany thinks it’s a huge commitment. She knows he would be supportive but she’s a little freaked out thinking of herself as Brittany Gutierrez, mother of one at her age. She wants to take things one step at a time. If she is pregnant, he wants to do the right thing. Family is important to him and he wants the baby to feel like he or she is a part of something. He offers to get a full-time job and take classes at night. He knows it will be tough but they have each other to lean on. She doesn’t think she’s cut out to be a mother. He gives her a pep talk and tells her he loves her. She loves him too and finally goes off to pee.
