Joey goes to the Brady Pub where his uncle Roman is thrilled to see him. They hug as Roman calls him the best Christmas present the Brady family could get this year.

Steve goes to see Tripp at Ava's apartment and wishes him a Merry Christmas. Tripp tells Steve that he got a Christmas tree, hoping to surprise Ava when she got home but she's still not there. Tripp admits he's starting to get worried. Steve questions how long it's been. Tripp tells him it's been two days and she's not answering her phone or responding to texts. Steve thinks there's a good chance that Ava left town and isn't coming back.

Abe goes to the hospital and asks Eli if Lani had the babies yet.

Kayla prepares Lani to give birth and tells her that everything looks really good. Lani worries that nothing is happening. Kayla tells her it can take awhile for labor to start. Lani hoped she would have Christmas twins. Kayla encourages that she might still. Lani has a big contraction and then declares the babies are definitely coming today.

Roman calls Joey a Christmas miracle. Joey says it feels that way to him too but it's Ava Vitali they have to thank. Roman says he has mixed feelings about that after what Ava did to Kayla. Roman adds that it seems to him that family gets away with a lot of criminal behavior. Roman asks if Joey heard what Tripp did. Joey says he heard what they are saying about him. Roman decides they won't get into all that today on Christmas. Roman jokes about trying to make Caroline's Irish soda bread biscuits and says he can never get them the way Caroline made them but he keeps trying. Joey says this could be the year which Roman says would be a Christmas miracle.

Kayla tells Lani that they have a good heartbeat on both twins and encourages her.

Eli informs Abe that Lani is resting right now but it's taking a lot longer than they thought. Abe asks if everything is okay. Eli says everything is fine. Abe asks how Eli is holding up. Eli says Lani is doing all the work and he's just standing out here. Eli asks if Abe went back home. Abe reveals he actually had to go to the airport to pick up someone as Eli's mom Valerie then arrives at the hospital, surprising Eli.

Tripp asks if Steve found out something about Ava. Steve says he doesn't have any information but he knows Ava. Tripp questions why Ava would leave now. Steve brings up how Kayla dropped the kidnapping charges so she's in the clear. Tripp argues that Ava wouldn't just take off without telling him because she made a big point about building a relationship with him. Steve states that Ava can be really convincing. Tripp assures this wasn't just all talk and brings up how Ava saved his life when Allie almost shot him. Steve says he knows Tripp wants to get to know his mother but he admits he'd be relieved if Ava doesn't become a part of Tripp's life. Tripp says that doesn't surprise him. Steve says he's giving Ava the benefit of the doubt that she wants the best for Tripp but he still feels Ava will end up hurting him. Tripp suggests maybe Ava needs him more than he needs her. Steve says that's what scares him. Tripp shows Steve a box of Christmas cards that Ava wrote to him every year they were apart and each one has the same wish, that she wants to be with her son. Tripp says growing up, he had the same wish. Steve points out that Tripp has him now. Tripp says he's grateful for that but this Christmas, he wanted to be with his mom too and he knows she wants to be with him too. Tripp doesn't believe that Ava left town. Steve gets a text and says he was supposed to meet Joey at the Pub. Tripp tells him to go ahead. Steve says he's sorry. Tripp responds that he knows he's not welcome there. Steve then hugs him.

Kayla greets Valerie and tells her, Eli, and Abe that things are progressing nicely. Kayla tells Eli that it's showtime. Eli hugs Valerie and Abe as they wish him luck and he goes with Kayla to Lani's room. Abe and Valerie joke about being grandparents.

Joey talks to his sister Stephanie on the phone. Joey is sorry she can't be there but understands she's busy with work and says they will have a family video chat later. Joey tells her that the letters she sent him while he was in prison got him through it. Joey says he would love to help her with work and will do whatever she needs. Joey tells her to let him know when it would be a good time and he will be there because he can come to Seattle any time. Steve walks in so Joey asks if she wants to say hi but she has to go. Joey says he'll call her later and they'll figure things out. Joey hangs up and tells Steve that Stephanie is bummed she can't be there for the holidays. Steve says he figured she might be working too hard. Joey adds that Stephanie wants to do a video chat later when they are all free. Steve says maybe they can do that tonight. Joey agrees if Kayla is not too busy. Steve says that depends on Lani since Kayla just got called to the hospital to deliver Lani's twins.

Eli is at Lani's side as Kayla prepares her to give birth along with another nurse. Lani successfully gives birth to a baby girl. Kayla then encourages Lani to push again for the other twin.

Steve tells Roman that everything was delicious and thanks him. Roman says it's good to have Joey home. Steve brings up stealing his turn to play Santa last year so he tells Roman that he can go ahead. Roman tells him that he doesn't think he can fit in the Santa suit so it's all Steve's. Steve asks if he's sure. Roman adds that he has Allie and Lucas coming by soon as well. Steve is sure they won't be sorry to miss him which Roman agrees with. Allie and Lucas then arrive with Henry. Steve comments that it looks like they won't miss him after all. Allie greets Steve and Joey. Lucas welcomes Joey home. Steve comments on Henry being a beautiful baby boy. Lucas remarks that he is their grandson so they are blessed.

Lani successfully gives birth to the second twin and it's a boy. Eli kisses Lani and says it's perfect. Eli and Lani hold their twin babies. Eli calls himself the luckiest man in the world. Eli talks about seeing Lani risk her life as a cop but he's never been more impressed by her strength and bravery than just now. Lani admits she was really afraid that something bad was going to happen. Eli questions her not saying anything. Lani says it didn't last long as she felt their first baby David was with them which gave her the courage to know she could do this. Lani asks if he thinks she's crazy. Eli calls it the story of Christmas and assures that he doesn't think she's crazy but they are blessed. Eli says David is the angel they lost but he knows he is in their hearts watching over them.

Kayla goes to tell Abe and Valerie that they are the proud grandparents of a baby girl and a baby boy which surprises them. Kayla confirms that everything is great. Abe asks when they can go see them. Kayla allows them to go now.

Steve calls Henry a blessing but tells Lucas that he's not his grandfather. Lucas says whatever to him. Joey reminds Steve that Kayla is waiting for them at the hospital so they exit. Roman tells Lucas and Allie that he was about to have a video chat with Sami so he suggests they surprise her by Lucas and Allie joining him which they agree to do. Roman goes to his computer and begins the video chat with Sami, informing her that Allie and Lucas stopped by with baby Henry. Allie greets Sami and asks about her Christmas. Sami says it was lovely except for missing all of them. Sami asks about Henry. Lucas says he's sleeping now but Roman points out that he's waking up now. Sami is happy to get to see him. Roman holds Henry and jokes about training the next generation of Bradys. Lucas points out that he's a Horton too. Allie asks to hold Henry so Roman hands him over. Roman says it does their heart good to see how close Allie has gotten with Henry. Before they can stop him, Roman starts talking about Allie dealing with the pain of Henry's conception which Sami unknowingly questions what he's referring to. Roman apologizes as he thought Sami knew. Sami asks Allie and Lucas what they are talking about and what they aren't telling her about the baby.

Tripp sets up all of Ava's Christmas cards that he found and then opens the one for this year so he sits down to read it.

Sami questions why nobody is answering her. Allie says that Christmas is not the day to get into this. Sami doesn't care and wants to know what's going on, refusing to let it go. Allie asks Roman and Lucas to take Henry to the kitchen. Lucas asks Roman to do it while he steps outside. Sami tells Allie that she's starting to scare her. Allie tells her not to be scared as she is okay. Sami asks her what this is about. Allie then reveals to Sami that when she got pregnant with Henry, she was raped, leaving Sami horrified. Allie cries that she really wanted to tell her but she was struggling and was afraid. Sami cries that she's so sorry for not being there for her and that she didn't know she could come to her. Allie assures that she is fine now. Sami asks what she can do. Allie tells her to just love Henry the same. Sami assures that she does and wishes she could hug her right now. Allie cries that she wishes she could too.

Tripp states that all these years he thought Ava didn't want him and now he knows it's not true as he wonders where Ava is.

Abe tells Lani that he's so proud of her. Lani thanks him and jokes that the babies did all the work. Abe brings up Lani forgiving Eli and asks if that means she forgives him too for keeping secrets. Lani assures that she does and says they will need all the babysitters they can get. Eli tells Abe and Valerie they will hold them to that. Lani asks if they want to hold their grandbabies so she hands them over to Abe and Valerie. Abe then stops to ask what their names are. Eli responds that they don't know yet.

Steve goes to the hospital dressed as Santa Clause. Kayla talks about the faces on the kids. Steve tells Kayla that after all these years, she still makes him feel like a kid on Christmas. They talk about Steve being on the naughty list last year when he was "Stefano". Steve asks what about this year, naughty or nice? Kayla suggests that when they go to bed, maybe she will show him a little of both.

Allie brings up this happening to Sami when she was in high school. Sami mentions that the son of a bitch who did it paid dearly. Allie says that Lucas told her. Sami asks if the person who did this to her is in jail now. Allie calls it a long story to save for another day. Sami wants to know but Allie insists. Sami says she understands and asks if Allie knows who the man who hurt her was.Allie responds that it was uncle Steve's son, Tripp Dalton.

Tripp calls Rafe and informs him that Ava has been missing for 48 hours so he's going to come down and file a missing persons report.

Sami can't believe Steve's son with Ava did this to Allie. Allie assures that she is alright and dealing with it. Allie admits it hasn't been easy but she's learned through this that she's a lot like Sami, a fighter. Allie says she is stronger than she ever thought she could be. Sami encourages that she doesn't have to be strong all the time. Allie says she has her moments but now knows it's okay to lean on the people that love her. Sami tells her that she will always be there for her and there's nothing she won't do for her.

Kayla reads the Christmas story to the kids at the hospital as Joey and Steve watch on.

Abe and Valerie continue holding their grandbabies as Eli and Lani watch on with smiles.

Steve as Santa hands out presents to the kids while Kayla finishes reading the story.

Abe points out that the babies will need names eventually. Lani says they are working on it. Valerie asks if there are any front runners. Eli admits they made a list of possible contenders. Lani says they plan to narrow it down. Eli says he was stupid in not trusting Lani while Lani says she was stupid in not understanding that what Eli did was out of love. Eli says that is all behind them now.

After the video chat is over, Roman comes back with Henry to check on Allie. Allie tells him that everything is okay. Roman apologizes for opening his mouth but he honestly thought Sami knew. Allie tells him not to worry about it because Sami was going to find out soon enough. Roman asks how Sami took it. Allie says she took it pretty well considering. Roman asks where Lucas is. Allie doesn't know as he hadn't come back from his walk yet and didn't respond to her text so they are just going to wait for him here.

Tripp calls Ava and leaves a message that he's heading to the police station and to please call him if she comes back. Lucas then shows up at the door.

Joey finishes a phone call while Steve finishes up as Santa with Kayla. Steve asks Joey if he'll take a check for Christmas but Joey responds that he wants to pay his own way. Joey then reveals that he just accepted a job with Stephanie in Seattle. Joey says he knows he just got home but he's looking to start fresh and it turns out, his sister needs him and maybe he needs her too. Steve says that's great. Kayla knows Stephanie will keep an eye on him. Steve asks if this is happening soon. Joey reveals he has decided to go tomorrow which Kayla questions. Joey repeats that Stephanie needs him and he needs to start supporting himself. Joey hopes they know how much he loves being there with them and he hopes they understand why he has to go. Steve assures that they do and says Joey will come back to visit and they will visit him there from time to time. Joey decides he will go call Stephanie to let her know his plan. Kayla tells Steve that it's great that Joey's sister needs him as she wipes tears from her eyes. Steve talks about how they are going to miss him but encourages that Joey is free and has his life back. Steve tells Kayla that their kids are going to be okay. Kayla responds that so are they as they kiss and hug.

Eli and Lani joke about knowing the babies are not going to be easy. Eli questions Lani being so calm. Lani tells Eli that he told her she's got this so now she's telling him that he's got this. Eli and Lani wish each other a Merry Christmas.
