Belle and Shawn walk through the town square while Christmas shopping. Shawn then holds up a mistletoe and they kiss.

John is at home getting emotional watching "It's a Wonderful Life". Marlena comes home so John quickly shuts it off and tries to hide his tears but Marlena can tell something is wrong. John tries to blow it off but ends up telling her it was the movie. Marlena suggests they see it how it ends and resumes the movie.

Nicole and Allie are decorating their apartment for Christmas. Nicole stops to give Allie a Christmas present. Allie tries to say Nicole has already done so much. Nicole reveals it's actually not for her as she opens it and it's a Christmas outfit for Henry. Allie says she loves it and hugs her.

Claire calls Charlie to make sure he's still coming to Marlena's. Charlie responds that he wouldn't miss it for the world, but he might be a little late as he had some last minute wrapping to do. Charlie then looks over at Ava who is tied up and gagged. Charlie tells Claire that it's put him in the holiday spirit and he's on his way. Claire says she will see him soon as they hang up. Charlie jokes with Ava that he could put a string of lights on her. Charlie brings up how many people Ava has tied up and says turn around is fair play. Charlie offers to take the gag off if she promises not to scream. Charlie removes it but Ava immediately screams for help. Charlie says he knew she would break her word but she can scream all she wants as no one is going to hear her which is one of the things he likes about his place. Ava pleads with Charlie to let her go. Charlie responds that he's sorry but this year, she's going to have a nice, quiet Christmas all alone.

Allie tells Nicole that the outfit will be perfect for Marlena's party tonight. Nicole points out that Henry is asleep so she could just leave him with her. Allie questions Nicole not coming. Nicole says she might come later but she still has some things to do here before she goes which Allie questions. Nicole asks her to keep a secret as she reveals that Eric is coming home. Allie says that's great as she thought she said she wouldn't be able to see him. Nicole says she said that because it's a surprise for everyone. Allie tells her how excited she is. Nicole says she just wants a little time with Eric before they go to Marlena's. Allie assures that her secret is safe with her. There's a knock at the door so Nicole worries about getting ready. Allie reassures her so Nicole excitedly answers the door but is surprised to see Will instead.

Ava can't believe Charlie is doing this to her. Charlie says he's just taking a page out of her book. Ava argues that she's not a danger to him. Charlie worries that she will tell everyone that he's a rapist so he could go to jail and lose Claire. Ava swears that she won't tell anyone anything. Ava says since Tripp is not being charged, there's no reason to turn him in. Charlie mocks her not destroying his life only because of Tripp. Ava says she just wants to protect both of her sons. Charlie feels she's just trying to con him in to setting her free. Ava tells him this is their first Christmas together so they should celebrate as a family. Charlie admits that's all he ever wanted and he used to dream of it like every other kid. Ava tells him they will do it. Charlie tells her that he's a grown man now and he hates her guts so the Christmas ship has sailed and she should've tried when he was 10. Charlie tells her that he's settling her in for the night as he puts the gag back on her mouth. Charlie says it will be like one of his Christmases, alone watching a heart warming movie. Charlie then exits, leaving Ava tied up.

Nicole tells Will that she's surprised to see him. Will notes her disappointment while Allie is glad he's there. Will tells Allie that he came to surprise her but Nicole is looking like he's the last person she wants to see. Nicole tells Will that she was just expecting someone else. Will asks who. Allie says that's a surprise too. Will asks Allie for a ride to Marlena's. Allie assures she will be so happy to see him too as she hugs him and wishes a Merry Christmas.

Brady goes to John and Marlena's and then Claire, Shawn, and Belle arrive as well with Christmas presents. Marlena mentions John making his famous egg nog. Brady hands Marlena a gift from he and Kristen which is a framed photo of Marlena and Rachel. Marlena thanks Brady and says she will thank Kristen when she visits her next. Belle asks Claire about Charlie not coming with her. Claire assures that he will be there and just had some last minute things to take care of. Brady jokes with John about him crying. Belle comes over and asks if Brady is giving John a hard time. Brady says they just have to get used to John being more of an open book. John says it's all okay as he now really appreciates having the family all together. John says last time they were all together, he blew it big time and tells Belle that he's sorry about that. Belle assures it wasn't him, but Jan who did that. Belle adds that she will hopefully be able to get his charges dropped after the holidays. John goes to help Marlena. Shawn points out to Belle that everyone that was supposed to be at their wedding is there now, including Belle. Shawn says it would be cool if they could get married tonight but they have to have the rings. Shawn then reveals that he brought the rings just in case of an impromptu wedding. Shawn then gets down on one knee and proposes to Belle to marry him today. Bellle says yes while the family applauds. Marlena and John declare it a very Merry Christmas as they kiss.

Nicole brings Henry out for Will to see him. Will says he's beautiful and gotten so big. Nicole goes to check on Holly. Will tells Allie that he wanted to apologize for everything that went down before he and Sonny left since he thought Sami was doing what's best but he was clearly wrong. Allie tells him that he already apologized and no one knows better than her how hard it is to stop one of Sami's plans. Will guesses it worked out anyway despite Sami's intervention since Henry is thriving and Allie seems happy. Allie says she has Nicole to thank since she's been so great and she couldn't have done any of this without her. Allie guesses that Sami kind of got what she wanted since she is raising her baby. Will knows Allie didn't really want to at first. Allie didn't think she could but now she can't imagine her life without Henry.

Ava struggles with being tied up.

Charlie arrives at John and Marlena's with flowers for Marlena. Charlie and Claire wish each other a Merry Christmas. Charlie talks about her family accepting him in for Christmas and how shopping got him into the Christmas spirit. Charlie then gives Claire her Christmas present. Claire thanks him and says he can just put it under the tree, where there is something for him as well. Charlie looks over at John and Marlena and questions why John is crying. Claire explains to him how Shawn and Belle decided tonight would be perfect to redo their wedding which Charlie says is great. Belle comes over and introduces herself to Charlie and wishes him a Merry Christmas. Charlie congratulates her. Belle and Claire joke about hoping they actually get married this time. John comes over and wishes Charlie a Merry Christmas. John asks Belle if she's ready. Belle assures that she is so John says to get the show on the road. Marlena then begins the wedding ceremony but she gets interrupted by a phone call from Sami.

Allie tells Will that a year ago, her life was so different and she only worried about what party to go to next. Allie admits she wasn't using her time productively but she never dreamed she would end up with a kid. Will adds that she had no idea Tripp would do something so horrible. Allie guesses she didn't know him and didn't think any guy she trusted to take her home would do that. Allie decides not to talk about that subject anymore. Allie says she will focus on things she is grateful for like having her brother back for the first time in months. Allie suggests they get going to John and Marlena's. Nicole comes back and asks if they are heading out. Will asks if she wants to come with them and says they can bring Henry. Nicole points out that she doesn't want to wake him. Allie adds that Nicole doesn't want to miss the big surprise either. Allie wishes Nicole a Merry Christmas and says she deserves one. Nicole says they do too. Allie and Will then exit together.

Belle tells Marlena not to answer Sami's phone call and says that Sami can leave a message. Marlena thought Belle might want to tell Sami that she's getting married. Belle asks why and reminds her that Sami unleashed Jan Spears on their family. Shawn says now is not the time and place since their wedding is a stress-free happy occasion. Belle apologizes for getting triggered and asks everybody to forgive the interruption. Marlena blames herself for forgetting to turn off her phone. Marlena then turns her phone off and resumes the wedding ceremony. Belle and Shawn exchange their wedding vows. Shawn and Belle say "I do" and then exchange the rings. Marlena then pronounces them husband and wife. Shawn and Belle kiss as everyone applauds. John calls for some champagne. The doorbell rings so Brady answers it, surprised to see Will is with Allie. Brady hugs Will and says he's glad he's there but wishes they came a few minutes sooner so they didn't miss Belle and Shawn's wedding. Will says that's exciting. Brady says miracles happen and now Shawn and Belle are husband and wife. Allie and Will are sorry they missed it. Brady asks about Henry. Allie explains that he's at home with Nicole since they didn't want to wake him up. Allie goes to say hi to Claire. Claire introduces Charlie to Allie. Charlie is unnerved to see Allie while Allie says it's nice to meet him and wishes him a Merry Christmas.

Ava continues to struggle with being tied up and manages to get one of her hands loose.

Charlie tells Allie that it's really nice to meet her. Allie stops him and asks if she knows him from somewhere because he seems really familiar. Charlie guesses he has one of those faces and quickly walks away. Brady announces it's time for the annual holiday picture. Claire goes over to Charlie to ask if everything is okay. Charlie stumbles over his words and claims he suddenly feels sick so he thinks he should go home. Claire points out that he just got there and feels he doesn't have a fever. Charlie calls it a weird feeling that he's coming down with something so he doesn't want to be sick in front of her family. Claire offers to go with him but Charlie says he would feel awful if he ruined her Christmas Eve. Charlie tells her to stay and have fun then he will call her tomorrow. Charlie kisses her on the cheek and quickly exits. Allie asks Claire where Charlie is going. Claire tells her that he suddenly didn't feel well. Brady gathers everyone for the holiday picture while Claire looks worried. John asks Claire where Charlie went. Claire tells him that he wasn't feeling well so he had to leave. Claire worries about Charlie being all alone now on Christmas. John asks about him not having family here. Claire says he doesn't since his father is in Philadelphia and isn't in contact with his brother. John is sorry that he had to leave. Claire goes to get some water. Marlena brings John some champagne and they toast to a Merry Christmas. John asks Marlena if she's happy. Marlena asks what could be better than a house full of family. They talk about the small interruption of Sami calling. Marlena blames herself for not muting her phone and says that Sami did leave a message, apologizing for not being there for Christmas. John understands she has to take care of EJ, Sydney, and Johnny. Marlena doesn't know if Belle would've gotten married if Sami had been there as she guesses they haven't gotten over things. John thinks it will take Belle a bit of time since she's still pretty angry over that. Marlena says she just likes it when things turn out right in the end. John says that's what the holiday season is all about. John tells Marlena that a happy ending wouldn't mean as much without hurdles to get through. They agree they've had their share of hurdles. Marlena asks if he thinks they are as happy as the family on television. John thinks they still have so much more to look forward to which Marlena agrees with. John feels so grateful and blessed to be able to share all of this with her as they kiss. Belle tells Shawn that they'll never forget their anniversary. Shawn then surprises her with earrings and wishes her a Merry Christmas as they kiss. Allie asks Claire again what happened with Charlie. Claire repeats that he didn't feel well. Allie says it was kind of sudden. Claire adds that she really wanted her to get to know him. Allie responds that she gets this feeling that she already does...

Ava gets herself untied from the chair and tries to run but Charlie appears at the door and asks if she's going somewhere.

Nicole sets up a romantic dinner at home for her and Eric as there's a knock at the door. Nicole excitedly answers the door but seems surprised by who she sees this time.
