Gwen enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion and asks Chad what's wrong. Chad says just keeps thinking about the conversation they overheard of Jake and Abigail not wanting him to be more suspicious than he already is. Chad asks Gwen what she thinks that means. Gwen says she was surprised Chad didn't confront Abigail on the spot and questions why he didn't.

Abigail and Jack walk through the town square, Christmas shopping. Abigail thanks Jack for coming with her. Jack says he's always happy to help her with Christmas shopping. Abigail says she appreciated it but she really just wanted his company. Jack hates that she and Chad are having problems right in the middle of holidays. Abigail brings up Chad accusing her of an affair with Jake. Jack hopes they can work through it because he'd hate to see another couple in this family break apart.

Lucas goes to the Horton house and wishes Jennifer a Merry Christmas. Jennifer tells him it's so nice to see him but he's early for the ornament hanging. Lucas explains that he might not be able to make it so he thought he would just drop of some gifts. Jennifer tells him they have gifts for he and Allie too. Jennifer asks how Allie is doing. Lucas says the London police not pressing charges was a blow but she's looking forward and healing. Lucas then asks about Jennifer and if there's any chance she will patch things up with Jack. Jennifer responds that she doesn't think so. Lucas asks if it doesn't help that Jack is genuinely sorry for what he did. Jennifer then informs him that Jack is still sleeping with Kate.

Kate goes to Jake's room with a Christmas gift bag and is startled when Jake comes out from the shower.

Kristen calls Lani from prison and asks if she's going to see Eli tonight. Lani says no which upsets Kristen, who argues that their babies are going to be here soon so they need to work this out. Kristen asks Lani to think about it and says she loves her. Kristen then hangs up as Dr. Rolf appears and wishes her a Merry Christmas. Kristen questions how he got in to the woman's wing of the prison. Dr. Rolf tells her that someone asked a favor of him and arranged for him to see her. Kristen hopes he's not going to pull anything because she just wants to serve her time and get back to her family. Dr. Rolf assures that he's not there with any nefarious intentions as he has a present for her.

Kate tells Jake that she didn't think he was going to be there. Jake questions her sneaking around then. Kate explains that she wanted to give him a present but didn't want to do it in front of everyone downstairs. Kate wishes Jake a Merry Christmas.

Jack informs Abigail that he had a chat with Chad after she walked out of the room. Abigail asks how that went. Jack tells her that Chad realized he let his imagination run away and that he insulted her with his accusation so he feels absolutely terrible about it. Abigail tells Jack that she did talk to Chad and she forgave him but now she feels like Chad is the one giving her the cold shoulder.

Chad tells Gwen that he didn't want to make the situation worse as he already upset Abigail enough. Gwen asks where that leaves them. Chad informs her that Abigail texted him about dropping the kids off at a friend's and that she was going shopping with her dad. Gwen asks if she mentioned Jake. Chad says no and that he hasn't responded yet because he didn't know if he wanted to tell her what he heard or just chalk it up to him being paranoid again. Gwen suggests he wait until Abigail come home as it's better than texting. Chad agrees and thanks Gwen for listening. Gwen says she's happy to help. Gwen then asks Chad to help her put a gingerbread house together in the kitchen. Chad agrees and thanks Gwen again for cheering him up and giving him perspective. Chad says he was in a really bad mood but now he feels like he's getting a little bit of Christmas spirit back. Gwen then points out that they happen to be standing under the mistletoe together.

Jack asks Abigail if she's sure she's not imagining Chad being cold to her. Abigail insists because Chad hasn't spoke to her since last night so she thinks it's harder for him to get over his suspicions than he thought. Jack encourages Abigail about their love and questions when Chad has been so insecure. Jack wonders if someone put the idea in Chad's head...

Chad and Gwen are standing under the mistletoe when they are surprised by Tony and Anna arriving at the DiMera Mansion. Tony hopes they aren't intruding. Chad asks why they didn't let him know since they have plenty of food but no presents. Tony says just being with the family is present enough. Anna points out Gwen and says she's never seen her before so she introduces herself, asking who Gwen is.

Lucas tells Jennifer that it's not possible that Jack is still sleeping with Kate. Jennifer claims that she has two solid pieces of evidence as proof. Lucas insists that Jack is sorry for what he did and wants her back. Jennifer tells Lucas about Julie's friend Saul at the Salem Inn, who said that Kate booked a room last night and he saw her with a man, who had a name that started with a "J".

Jake informs Kate that he has a present for her too. Jake notes that finding her the right gift was a bit of a challenge but he hasn't had a chance to wrap it yet. Kate responds that she likes her presents unwrapped as they get close and Jake drops his towel.

Kristen questions why she would accept a gift from Dr. Rolf after he tried to shoot Chad. Rolf understands her reluctance but says he has reflected on what he tried to do to Chad and he deeply regrets it as he got carried away with his devotion to Stefano. Dr. Rolf assures Kristen has nothing to fear in accepting the gift. Kristen then takes the envelope and opens it to see a framed photo of herself, Chad, and Stefano from Christmas years ago. Kristen thanks Dr. Rolf and says she will treasure it. Rolf is glad she likes it and asks her to tell Chad that he has one for him as well.

Gwen introduces herself to Tony and Anna. Chad explains that Gwen is their live-in nanny. Anna asks about the kids. Chad tells her that Abigail took them to a play date while she went shopping with Jack. Tony suggests he and Chad go visit their sister as he thinks Kristen will be quite sad in prison this time of year. Chad agrees as he feels terrible for not visiting her at all yet. Tony invites Anna to join them but she tells him to go ahead and says she'll hang back and get to know Gwen. Tony and Chad then exit together. Anna asks Gwen to sit with her on the couch and tell her about herself because she wants to hear everything.

Abigail tells Jack that she doesn't think anyone is putting ideas in Chad's head. Jack asks how else to explain the sudden insecurity. Abigail thinks it goes back to everything that happened with Stefan and that was an awful time for them. Jack apologizes for not thinking about Jake being Stefan's identical twin. Abigail thinks seeing Jake brings that whole scenario back for Chad with some paranoia. Abigail knows Chad knows that she loves him but when he expressed doubt, she got angry but now she sees he just need reassurance. Jack encourages her to give Chad what he needs. Abigail says she will go home and do that now. Abigail thanks Jack for helping her realize what she wants to do when she goes home. Abigail wants to have a wonderful Christmas. Jack is not sure about his without Jennifer. Abigail encourages him not to give up on her. Jack assures that he will not ever. Jack wants to focus on something now and good as he is so grateful that Abigail forgave him. Abigail assures that Jennifer will too in time.

Lucas tells Jennifer that there are tons of names that start with J and he doesn't think Saul knows what he's talking about. Lucas points out that Saul doesn't even know Jack so there's no evidence. Lucas says if Jennifer really wants to find out what's going on, he will just go to the DiMera Mansion to confront Kate and ask her.

Jake and Kate kiss in bed.

Chad and Tony visit Kristen in prison which shocks her. Kristen excitedly hugs them and says how lucky she is to have her two brothers. Chad apologizes for not coming sooner as it's been a really chaotic time. Kristen says that's nothing new and asks how Tony is. Tony says he's fine and been traveling a lot but grateful to be healthy. Tony mentions making new friends along the way. Kristen asks what brought him back to Salem. Tony says they came to celebrate Christmas with those they hold dear. Kristen questions if that includes her. Tony says of course it does. Chad asks how she is holding up. Kristen says she's trying to stay positive and seeing them really helps as they sit together. Kristen shows Chad the photo from Dr. Rolf and says he has a copy for him as well. Kristen adds that Dr. Rolf seemed genuinely remorseful about what he did to him. Chad says he should be. Kristen calls the photo lovely. Chad remembers the day before that picture being when he beat Stefano at chess. Kristen recalls Stefano being so proud of that. Tony looks at the photo and says he doesn't recall that Christmas since he wasn't there. Chad jokes that he was hanging out in the afterlife but luckily that wasn't permanent. Tony says he will be eternally grateful for that and for Anna since she never gave up on him. Tony calls Anna a beautiful, loving soul.

Anna asks Gwen how long she's been working for Chad and Abigail. Gwen says not that long but she's enjoying it. Gwen mentions that she should clean the kids' room before they get home but Anna asks her not to go yet and to keep her company. Anna convinces Gwen to sit back down as she wants to hear all about her family. Anna assumes Gwen is from the UK based on her accent. Gwen calls it complicated so Anna decides she won't pursue it. Gwen insists that she needs to go but Anna wants to know why Gwen isn't with her family on Christmas. Anna then apologizes for being too nosy and says she's working on that. Abigail and Jack then come home. Abigail is surprised to see Anna and hugs her as Anna says she and Tony came for Christmas and beyond. Anna notes that it looks like their shopping was a success. Gwen offers to take the gifts upstairs to be wrapped. Abigail says they will do it together. Gwen tells Anna it was nice meeting her. Anna hopes her questions weren't too offensive to her. Gwen says they weren't as she exits the room.

Jennifer begs Lucas not to go to the DiMera Mansion. Lucas knows she's afraid of what she might find out. Jennifer has a different idea and takes Lucas to come with her.

Jake and Kate talk about sneaking around as Kate fixes her clothes. Kate asks Jake to open his present before she goes. Jake opens the present and it's a red tie which he calls really nice. Kate says she thought if he is going to work in DiMera, he should dress the part. Jake calls it great and thanks her. Jake reminds her that he has her present but he can't give it to her because it's not wrapped. Kate repeats that it doesn't matter to her. Jake says he put a lot in to the presentation so he tells Kate to leave and if she's lucky, she'll find her present in her bedroom later tonight. Kate then exits the room. After Kate walks away, Gwen approaches Jake's room.

Chad goes to visit Dr. Rolf in prison and thanks him for the photo. Rolf says he knows Stefano would want him to have it. Dr. Rolf says he's just lucky that Chad happened to be visiting Kristen today. Rolf adds that he's truly sorry for everything he put him through as he lost control and deeply regrets it. Rolf asks if Chad could ever forgive him. Chad agrees that there is no point in holding a grudge. Rolf appreciates his kindness and says he will always have a vested interest in his future. He asks if everything is going well. Chad says everything is fine at DiMera and everyone in the family is good. Rolf imagines the kids are excited about the holidays with a full house of friends and family. Chad informs him that Anna and Tony showed up today while Kate and Jake are also there. Dr. Rolf is surprised since he knows Chad didn't want Jake around at Thanksgiving. Chad questions how he knew that.

Gwen enters Jake's room. Jake questions what the hell she's doing here. Gwen informs him that she just saw his girlfriend sneaking out. Jake asks about the kids. Gwen says they are on a play date. Gwen remarks on Jake getting extravagant gifts for granny Kate while she doesn't recall him ever buying her anything that wasn't from the dollar store. Gwen calls him a liar, cheater, and cheap. Jake tells her Merry Christmas and says she can see herself out as he exits the room.

Jack asks Anna where Tony is. Anna explains that Tony and Chad went to visit Kristen in prison. Abigail questions Anna not going with them. Anna says she and Kristen are not exactly best friends but she's glad her brothers went as she thinks it's important for family to be together over the holidays. Anna then questions why Jack is not with Jennifer as Kate then enters the room.

Jennifer and Lucas run in to Saul in the town square. Jennifer introduces herself and says that Julie is her cousin. Lucas says they just had a question for him. Jennifer brings up Saul telling Julie that she saw Kate at the Salem Inn with a man, whose name started with a J. Jennifer asks if he remembers if the man's name was Jack. Saul claims that he believes Jack sounds right to him.

Chad demands an answer as to how Dr. Rolf knew he didn't want Jake at Thanksgiving. Dr. Rolf thinks back to talking to Gwen but then tells Chad that Kristen mentioned it earlier. Chad wonders how Kristen knew then guesses it could have been through her friendship with Jennifer. Dr. Rolf says there could be no other explanation.

Jennifer thanks Saul and says she has to go. Lucas stops her and brings up a picture of Jack on his phone to show Saul if he can confirm if that was the man with Kate. Saul confirms that it was not Jack and notes that he may not remember names but he never forgets a face. Lucas thanks Saul for his help as he then walks away. Jennifer cries that she's so glad Lucas had the picture on his phone. Lucas asks if she feels better now. Jennifer says no matter how angry and upset she is about what Jack and Kate did last year, she's relieved to know she was wrong about them being together last night.

Anna asks again where Jennifer is. Abigail tells her that she's at the Horton house putting together the Christmas tree which Anna says makes sense. Anna asks Kate what she is doing for Christmas. Jack says he's going to get going so Abigail thanks him for shopping with her. They wish each other a Merry Christmas and hug as Jack then exits. Kate reminds Anna that she lives here so she will be celebrating Christmas here. Abigail questions her not spending it with family which she confirms. Anna asks about there not being a special man in Kate's life. Jake then enters the room so Kate introduces him to Anna, who is shocked to see his resemblance to Stefan. Chad and Tony then come home. Tony wishes everyone a Merry Christmas as Anna points out Jake to Tony. Jake asks Chad to introduce them so Chad introduces Tony to Jake. Anna can't get over the resemblance and says she has a zillion questions for Jake. Gwen comes back in and informs Abigail so she already wrapped all the presents to put under tree before the kids come home. Gwen tells Abigail that she knows she's not opening Christmas presents early but hands her one that she believes is for her.

Kristen looks over her family photo and says she may not be able to be with her family tonight but she will be with them all in spirit.

Abigail asks Gwen if she's sure it's for her since the gift doesn't have a tag on it. Gwen guesses it fell off. Abigail says she won't open it so they can all open gifts together. Gwen insists since everyone is in the Christmas spirit so she encourages Abigail to open the present. Abigail asks Chad. Chad tells her to go for it. Abigail then opens it and it's a silver bracelet. Abigail goes straight to Chad and thanks him for it but Chad says he didn't get that for her which she questions. Abigail doesn't understand and asks who it's from then. Jake steps up and reveals that he bought it. Chad confronts him and questions Jake buying a present for his wife. Jake clarifies that he bought it for someone else and claims that it was for Gwen. Gwen asks him why. Jake tells her it was an apology for their breakup and everything. Gwen remarks that she finds it hard to believe. Abigail then hands Gwen the bracelet. Gwen asks Jake to help her put it on which he does.

Jack goes to see Jennifer and says he knows she doesn't want to see him and he won't stay but it's Christmas Eve so he brought her something. Jack asks her to please accept it as he hands her the gift. Jack wishes her a Merry Christmas and walks away. Jennifer shuts the door and says Merry Christmas to Jack.
