Jennifer is at home looking at Jack's Christmas stocking. Julie walks in and asks if she's thinking about Jack. Jennifer responds that she's thinking of Kate too. Julie assures that what happened between Jack and Kate is over but Jennifer responds that she's not so sure.

Jake and Kate lay in bed together at the Salem Inn. Jake praises Kate's idea to get a room at the Salem Inn instead of the garage of the DiMera Mansion. Kate points out that they also have a lock on the door so no one will catch them together and tell Chad.

Gwen sits in the living room of the DiMera Mansion when she gets a text from Abigail that she and Jack are stuck covering a city council meeting so she won't be reachable for a while. Gwen tosses her phone aside and continues drinking a glass of wine. Chad then walks in and asks if she knows where Abigail is. Gwen says no and claims she has not heard from her.

Charlie argues that Ava has always loved Tripp more than him and he accepts that. Charlie says he's sorry that Tripp was taken from her and that he was not the son she wanted. Charlie declares that Ava can either clear Tripp's name and send him to Hell or she can keep quiet and protect them both. Charlie asks Ava not to tell Allie that he and Tripp were both in London or tell Tripp that they are brothers. Charlie tells Ava to prove that she loves him by not saying anything to anybody. Tripp then knocks on the door, asking if Ava is inside. Ava tells Charlie that she's sorry but she has to tell Tripp the truth.

Steve tells Allie that he's sorry he hasn't reached out before now because he wasn't sure she'd want to hear from him. Steve says he's sorry about what happened but he's still standing by Tripp. Allie argues that he can't believe her and Tripp at the same time as one of them has to be lying and it's not her.

Charlie pleads with Ava not to do this to him, claiming he just made a mistake and doesn't want to go to prison for it. Charlie asks Ava not to say anything if she loves him at all. Tripp knocks again, asking if Ava is in there since he doesn't have a key. Ava tells Charlie that they are going to tell Tripp that Charlie raped Allie and then they will deal with the consequences. Charlie argues that she can't. Ava turns to answer the door when Charlie then grabs a vase and smashes it over Ava's head from behind, knocking her out.

Julie questions what Jennifer is talking about. Jennifer talks about hearing Kate making romantic plans at the Salem Inn. Julie argues that she can't possibly think it was with Jack since he loves Jennifer and regrets every minute with Kate. Jennifer wonders if Jack is weighing his options and still has feelings for Kate. Julie argues that she's giving Kate too much credit. Jennifer points out that she never thought Jack would sleep with Kate and then lie to her about it for an entire year but here they are.

Jake tells Kate that he would love to do something more interesting than talk about keeping their relationship a secret but he knows that's what they agreed to. Jake adds that he would love to wine and dine Kate for all of Salem to see. Kate says maybe someday but for now they are sneaking around, insisting it's the best thing. Kate informs Jake that Jennifer overheard her on the phone and she thought she was talking to Jack. Kate isn't sure that Jennifer believed her but says she couldn't tell her about them and that it's bad enough that Gwen knows.

Gwen asks Chad if everything is alright. Chad says yes and asks why. Gwen tells him that Abigail told her about their fight. Chad says she knows then that he's a complete jackass. Gwen questions why he would think Abigail would have an affair with Jake. Chad tells her that a bunch of stuff had hit him in the moment and he went straight to cheating and called her out on it so he's an idiot. Gwen asks if Chad trusts Abigail. Chad says he does but not Jake. Gwen brings up Chad seeing Abigail with her head in Jake's lap and how she insisted on inviting him to Thanksgiving so she understands why he would think something is going on. Gwen encourages Chad that Abigail loves him so much and just because she cheated on him with Stefan, she's sure they were able to kiss and make up. Chad points out that Abigail accepted her apology but now she's missing so he thinks she's still upset and has every right to be. Gwen says she's sorry and hopes they will work things out. Chad decides to go call Abigail and steps out.

Steve doesn't think Allie or Tripp is lying which Allie questions. Steve feels like he's missing a piece of the puzzle. Allie brings up the DNA and the baby, questioning what else there could be. Steve suggests Allie tell him her side of the story but he understands if she doesn't want to talk about it. Allie decides she has zero problem with that because maybe he'll realize she has been telling the truth the entire time and that Tripp is a liar.

Charlie worries about what he is doing as he stands over Ava. Tripp knocks on the door, asking what that was as he heard a noise and says he's starting to get worried. Charlie prays that Tripp will just go away. Tripp tries the door and concludes that something is definitely not right...

The phone rings at the DiMera Mansion so Gwen yells for Harold but he doesn't come so she answers herself and it's Julie. Gwen asks if she's looking for Abigail. Julie says she actually wanted to speak with Jack and asks if he's there. Gwen claims he left a little while ago. Julie then asks if Kate is there. Gwen responds that Kate left too and remarks that she hasn't seen either of them since they practically kicked her out of the study awhile ago. Gwen asks if she wants to leave a message but Julie declines and thanks her as they hang up. Gwen comments that Jennifer took the bait. Chad comes back in so Gwen asks if he found Abigail. Chad says no and that he can't seem to find Jake either. Gwen questions him looking for Jake. Chad claims it's just business stuff which Gwen questions. Chad admits he couldn't help himself but Jake and Abigail are both nowhere to be found. Gwen encourages him not to let his mind go there as she's sure it's just a coincidence.

Allie sits with Steve and tells him that after the club, she remembers getting in a cab with Tripp because he insisted on taking her home as she had too much to drink and she thought he was just being a good guy. Steve asks what happened after that. Allie says that's when everything gets fuzzy because of the alcohol. Steve goes over what Tripp said and that Allie kissed him. Allie argues that she was still too out of it to consent. Steve apologizes for how that came out and asks if she can tell him anything else about that night. Allie mentions that Tripp said he put her in bed, wrote a note, and left but she never found a note. Steve finds that odd that Tripp would mention that detail when it's so easy to disprove. Allie argues that he was trying to look like a good guy. Steve asks if there's anything else she remembers or wants to share. Allie admits it feels kind of good to get it out and tell her side. Allie says for awhile, she didn't remember that part of the night until she was telling Nicole and suddenly started getting flashes in her head of Tripp hovering above her in bed, her saying no, and a hand holding her wrist down. Steve points out that Allie said "a hand" and asks if she's sure it was Tripp's hand.

Tripp tries calling Ava but her phone lies next to her as she is knocked out inside. Tripp leaves a message that he's outside her door and he's been knocking for awhile. Tripp says he heard a noise and he's a little worried that she fell so he doesn't know if he should call the police or just break down the door. Charlie hides behind the door and then arms himself with a screwdriver.

Kate tells Jake that there is no way they can spend the night together. Jake argues that no one at the DiMera Mansion will miss them but Kate says that Harold will and he will gossip. Kate suggests Jake go out the back and then she'll wait and go out the front so that no one sees them together. Jake jokes that all this sneaking around is giving him a complex as he then gets out of bed.

Jennifer comments to Julie on if they should get new Christmas decorations since Jack wanted something new. Jennifer says she doesn't want to talk about it but then goes on about Jack saying he'd never give up on her then being out with Kate. Jennifer then suggests they focus on decorating. Jennifer wonders who else Kate could have been on the phone with since she's not dating anybody. Julie tells her it could be anyone. Jennifer wonders if they are the Salem Inn now. Julie says she has a way to get to the bottom of this if she wants since she has a friend Saul, who works the desk at the Salem Inn. Jennifer says no and that it would be humiliating. Julie asks if she wants answers or not. Jennifer decides she wants egg nog and goes to the kitchen. Julie decides it will take more than egg nog to set Jennifer's mind to rest so she calls her friend Saul at the Salem Inn. Julie asks if he could do her a tiny favor.

Allie asks what Steve is talking about and says of course it was Tripp's hand, questioning who else it could be. Steve urges her to think carefully about this since she only had a few flashes of memory from the assault. Steve asks if her memories could have been from different moments throughout the night. Allie argues that there's no way Tripp is not the one who assaulted her since the DNA proves he's Henry's father so there is no other explanation. Steve apologizes and thanks her for talking to him about it. Steve decides he will let her go. Steve tells her again that he's so sorry as he then walks away.

Charlie waits with the screwdriver as Tripp starts to prepare to break down the door but then wonders what he's doing. Tripp decides Ava is probably in the shower or running an errand so he walks away. Charlie is relieved and then sits down looking at what he has done to Ava.

Chad tells himself that he's acting crazy as there is no way Jake is sleeping with Abigail. Chad goes to the garage and sees that it's empty so he tells himself he's an idiot. Gwen comes in behind him and says she thought she might find him here. Chad guesses she must think he's a terrible husband. Gwen doesn't blame him for being jealous since he loves Abigail while Jake has no respect for him or his marriage. Chad suggests they not tell Abigail that he came here looking for her. Gwen responds that he can trust her because keeping secrets is one of her super powers...

Julie thanks Saul for the information and hangs up. Jennifer comes back in and guesses she called her friend at the Salem Inn which she confirms. Jennifer asks what he said. Julie thought she didn't want to know but Jennifer says she went through the trouble of calling him so she might as well tell her. Julie informs Jennifer that Kate booked a room for the Salem Inn for tonight. Jennifer says she could be with anybody. Julie adds that Saul didn't get a good look at the man she was with but he overheard her calling him by name. Julie reveals that he couldn't remember the name but he thinks it started with a "J"...

Allie runs in to Kate in the town square and asks what she is doing coming out of the Salem Inn. Kate claims it was work related and asks how Allie is doing. Kate asks if she gave any more thought to the civil suit against Tripp. Allie informs her that she talked to Belle and she agreed that she has a good case so with Belle's help, she is going to sue Tripp and make him accountable for what he did to her.

Steve goes back home but before he heads inside, Tripp catches up with him. Steve asks what he's doing back and if something happened with Ava. Tripp responds that he's fine but he's not so sure about Ava. Steve asks what he's talking about. Tripp explains that he knocked on the door but she didn't answer. Steve calls that strange since she was expecting him. Tripp adds that after he knocked, he thought he heard a noise inside and he thought about breaking down the door but he thought that might be extreme. Tripp says he might just be paranoid and might go try again. Steve stops him and says it might be innocent but trouble has a way of following Ava so he doesn't want Tripp in the middle of that. Tripp guesses it's probably nothing. Steve decides they will go check it out together.

Charlie checks Ava's pulse and is relieved to find out that she's still alive. Charlie says he's so sorry and he hopes she knows that he loves her. Charlie says he would never hurt her but he couldn't let her tell Tripp because Claire is the best thing to ever happen to him and he can't lose her. Charlie wonders how to convince Ava of that and convince her not to say anything. Ava then starts to regain consciousness.

Chad tells Gwen that he's usually not this insecure. Gwen talks about seeing his kindness with Abigail, the children, and herself. Gwen brings up how Chad let her stay after Jake dumped her and even gave her a job. Chad feels everyone deserves a chance. Gwen talks about how rude and obnoxious she was when she and Jake first moved in and she's sorry. Gwen says she didn't have a lot of fans but Chad backed her up and made her believe she's not the trash that some people think she is. Gwen says that Chad helped her through a really rough time so if she can repay him in any way, she is happy to be there for him. Chad thanks her. Gwen suggests they go back to the house so they exit the garage together.

Abigail walks in to the living room of the DiMera Mansion where Jake is pouring a drink. Abigail tells him about just coming from a boring meeting. Jake offers her a drink but Abigail says she swore off alcohol after her parents party. Jake offers her a tea but Abigail decides to start on her article. Jake asks Abigail if she would mind looking over a proposal he wrote for DiMera as he could use her to make him look good. Abigail says she would but she's really swamped right now. Jake asks if he did something to offend her. Abigail assures it's not him, it's Chad. Jake asks what about him. Abigail then informs Jake that Chad thinks they are having an affair.

Kate is glad Allie took her advice as that's much better than taking her gun. Kate tells her that she's proud of her for standing up to herself, although she knows how difficult it will be to tell her story in court. Kate promises to be there for her every step of the way. Allie tells her that she had practice as she just ran in to Steve, who asked her for details about what happened with Tripp. Allie says she didn't mention planning to sue Tripp as she's waiting for Belle to officially file the paperwork. Kate wishes she didn't say anything to Steve so he can't use anything against her. Allie points out that Steve did question one thing but she's not really sure what it means.

Tripp and Steve go back to Ava's. Steve tells Tripp about Allie telling him her side of the story but says they can talk about that after they find out what's going on with Ava. Tripp knocks on the door but there's no answer so Steve picks the lock and they head inside but find the place empty. Steve says they will check it out, warning Tripp to be careful as they begin to search the place.

Jennifer argues that this can't be happening. Julie encourages her not to leap to the worst possible scenario as it could be any man with a name starting with "J". Jennifer feels of course it's Jack. Julie refuses to believe it because she knows how sincerely Jack wants her back. Jennifer feels Jack is great at being sincere but he already lied to her once about Kate. Jennifer states that it will be hard to regain trust once it's broken so maybe she should just put this relationship to rest and move on because it sounds like he certainly has.

Jake questions why Chad would think they are having an affair. Abigail says it's too much to get into but that's where Chad's head is so out of respect for Chad, she'd rather not spend time alone with Jake because it would just make Chad more suspicious and it's not worth risking that. Jake tells her that he's sorry but he totally understands. Chad and Gwen then appear in the doorway as Jake declares that he will make sure he and Abigail are not seen alone together because they don't want to make Chad any more suspicious than he already is.

Kate asks what exactly Steve questioned Allie about. Allie says Steve asked her if her memory of Tripp's face and the hand holding her down was the same moment. Kate questions thinking there was another hand and says it's ludicrous to think another man attacked her since the DNA proves Tripp is guilty. Allie agrees that it had to be Tripp, asking who else it could've been.

Steve and Tripp conclude that Ava's not home and there's no sign of trouble. Tripp worries that he hurt Ava's feelings by not coming home and she took off somewhere. Steve wonders where Ava would have gone.

Ava wakes up tied to a chair at Charlie's place. Charlie comes in and says it's good that she is awake. Ava questions what he's doing and orders him to untie her. Charlie wishes he could but says she brought this on herself..
