Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 12/16/20

Allie asks Claire about her boyfriend. Claire tells her that his name is Charlie. Allie notes that she never mentioned him before. Claire says she had so much going on and she didn't know it would be anything but it's been so great. Claire says they just had dinner so she thought he was going to text her because he usually does. Claire tells Allie that Charlie is her boyfriend and she thinks Allie is really going to like him. Claire continues praising Charlie and guesses that he's absolutely perfect..

Charlie argues that he doesn't know what Ava is suggesting but he followed Tripp around London like she asked him to and he's not the saint that she thinks he is. Charlie says Tripp was partying at the Pub the minute he got there. Charlie knows that Ava doesn't want to accept that Tripp is guilty but Allie had a baby and the DNA is a match. Ava then declares that she knows someone else who shares a lot of the same DNA as she reveals that Charlie and Tripp are brothers! Ava adds that they are both her sons.

Brady and Chloe work at Basic Black. They tell each other that they don't have to stay so late. Brady feels he has to make a good impression since he bailed on Nicole last time. Chloe says there's nothing wrong with making a good impression. Brady suggests they both could leave but neither one moves.

Philip enters the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and greets Victor. Victor notes that he's out late. Philip claims he wouldn't want to slack off and let Titan's stock dip. Victor asks if he's sure he's concerning himself with Titan's stock or if he's sneaking around with his new partner in crime. Philip says he makes him sound like he's up to something with Sarah and says of course not as he just wants the concert to be success while Sarah has great connections in the industry. Victor stops him and says he knows exactly what he's doing.

Brady tells Chloe that she did a hell of a job on her first day. Chloe tells him the same. Brady talks about doing this for a long time while Chloe is a rookie at it but she made a good impression. Chloe thanks him and says she's feeling her way through this. Brady encourages her to keep doing what she's doing. Brady adds that Nicole's decision to hire Chloe may have been the best decision she could've made.

Allie asks Claire how she met Charlie. Claire explains that she literally bumped into him. Claire talks about it being when she was planning Ciara's memorial and he made her feel better. Claire adds that they haven't known each other long but Charlie makes her feel safe. Claire states that Charlie really cares about her family too and was sympathetic when she told him about what happened to Allie. Allie stops her and question Claire telling Charlie that she was raped.

Charlie argues that he and Tripp are only half brothers since Steve is not his father. Ava tells him not to play stupid since they share half their DNA which is more than enough to confuse a DNA test so the only reason Tripp's DNA matches is because Charlie is the real father.

Steve and Tripp walk through the town square talking about it being good to have Joey back. Tripp says he's sorry for what Joey went through. Steve declares they will now focus on the future for both of his sons. Tripp notes that his is very uncertain at the moment. Steve encourages that Tripp can do anything he wants and he thinks he'll be a fine doctor some day. Steve believes they will be able to prove Tripp's innocence soon. Tripp thanks him and tells him that he doesn't have to walk him to the door since Kayla and Joey are waiting for him. Steve hoped they could talk more and get a coffee. Tripp asks what more he wanted to talk about. Steve tells him that it's Ava.

Claire tells Allie that she's sorry for telling Charlie about her rape since it's her place to tell people. Allie says she understands but feels it changes the way people see her as she doesn't want people feeling bad for her. Claire adds that she only told Charlie because she had just found out and was so freaked out that she couldn't keep it to herself. Claire asks if Allie forgives her, which she does. Allie says if she goes through with the civil case, it will be all over the news anyways. Claire talks about Charlie being so understanding and on her side, wishing Tripp got the punishment he deserved. Claire says they were all shocked that someone they knew could do something like that.

Charlie argues with Ava that Tripp is the father of Allie's baby, not him. Ava insists that she can spot a lie and argues that Charlie's job was to keep an eye on Tripp. Ava says she knows Charlie would've been right behind Tripp when he took Allie home so she tells him to just admit it. Charlie shouts that he didn't do anything and that Allie identified Tripp as the attacker so there's no more proof needed. Ava screams that Tripp swore to her that he never touched Allie. Charlie isn't surprised that Ava believes him because Tripp is Steve's kid. Ava warns him to watch it. Charlie complains that he's the other kid that Ava wanted to forget about until she needs something and he comes running hoping it will be different. Charlie declares that he'll always be second best to Tripp because Tripp is her golden child that can do no wrong.

Tripp and Steve have coffee in the town square. Tripp guesses that Steve is going to say Ava has hurt a lot of people and he gets that. Tripp also gets that Steve thinks reconnecting her might be a mistake and that he'd be better off cutting her out of his life. Tripp talks about wondering why he feels compelled to get close to Ava despite what she's done. Steve understands she is his mother so it's natural to want to know the person who gave him life. Tripp adds that part of it is wanting to know himself better and find out how they are alike. Steve responds that he doesn't think Tripp is anything like Ava. Tripp feels he has to be because of genetics even if he'd like to think he only takes after Steve. Tripp insists on having a need to get to know Ava and he can finally get answers so it's really important to him. Tripp asks Steve not to try to talk him out of it.

Chloe gets an alert from the warehouse that they have a temperature issue and if they can't fix it, they can't order the silk. Brady brings up Titan having several warehouses and he's sure they can find one available so he thinks making a deal is worth a shot. Brady realizes he will have to call Philip but says they are all adults here. Chloe thanks Brady for giving her a heads up that Philip is in town since she actually ran in to him. Brady asks how that went.

Victor tells Philip that it's obvious that he feels if he cozies up to Sarah, he'll get under Xander's skin. Victor tells him to stop the act because he knows he hates Xander and that everything with them is a competition. Victor adds that he didn't make them co-CEOs to see who could claw their way to the top. Philip says he knows he put them together to make Titan the strongest. Victor wants them to stop feeling threatened by each other and make that happen. Philip thinks back to Ava's threats. Philip tells Victor that he's not threatened by Xander because he's not the reason he's doing this.

Allie asks Claire if she thinks her and Charlie are going to get serious. Claire hopes so but says they are taking it slow. Claire says they were both kind of hesitant to get involved. Claire mentions how Charlie kept running into her exes with bad timing but they got through it. Claire says she didn't want any secrets so she told Charlie straight away about her mental illness and he was so supportive and understanding. Allie comments that he sounds like a really good guy. Claire states that Charlie knows everything about her and still likes her. Allie guesses he must be the perfect guy like she said.

Ava tells Charlie that's not true as she loves both her sons equally and she always has. Charlie disagrees and tells her to stop the devoted mother act. Charlie argues that they both know that Tripp is the only one she ever cared about which is why he had to live with his dad, because she couldn't be bothered to raise him. Ava argues that she was in a terrible emotional state after having her child ripped from her. Charlie screams that he was her child too.

Steve tells Tripp that having a relationship with his mother is up to him as he's an adult and it's his decision but he wants him to be careful so he doesn't get hurt. Steve acknowledges that Tripp is smart enough to see through Ava's games and manipulations but he will also feel sorry for her and want to help her. Tripp asks if Steve thinks she's beyond help. Steve clarifies that he doesn't think anyone is beyond help but he loves Tripp and worries about him. Tripp appreciates it and knows Steve is protective of him. Tripp feels it might not be as bad as Steve thinks since Ava said him living with her was a dream come true which he admits got to him. Tripp promises that he's not naive to who Ava is but she seems to really want him in her life. Steve knows that Ava loves him but warns that she will never be a normal mother as she is a very damaged person. Tripp understands that and knows it's because she had a terrible childhood. Steve talks about Ava's father holding her captive and controlling her life but because of all that, Ava is unstable and paranoid. Steve states that Ava has lost a lot so she holds on to whoever and whatever she loves. Steve is afraid that Ava has a very warped sense of what love is.

Charlie complains that he needed a mother his whole life and he came to work with her to impress her but she just ordered him to watch Tripp which he found humiliating. Ava asks if Charlie attacked Allie to get back at her or to frame Tripp. Charlie questions her bringing this back to Tripp. Ava says she's never seen Charlie so angry. Charlie remarks that she's never seen him. Charlie says he's out of here but Ava stops him, demanding he admit that he raped Allie. Charlie then tells Ava that he did it, he raped Allie.

Allie and Claire joke about Jan Spears interrupting Shawn and Belle's wedding. Allie questions Charlie not reacting bad to all that. Claire tells her that he stayed by her side the whole time making sure she was okay and even after all of that, he asked her to be his girlfriend. Allie jokes that maybe his family is just as crazy. Claire says Charlie's family seems pretty normal as he grew up with his dad and has a brother but they aren't really in touch. Allie asks what about his mom..

Ava questions how Charlie could force himself on Allie and now she has his baby. Charlie says he didn't know anything about the baby until Ava told him. Ava guesses he didn't use protection when he raped her. Charlie tells her to stop saying rape as he didn't mean to hurt her. Charlie argues that it's not what she thinks as he made a mistake and he feels awful about it but he's not a bad guy. Charlie pleads with her to believe him and not say anything to anybody.

Tripp appreciates Steve talking to him about Ava but assures he doesn't have to worry as he can handle her. Tripp understands his fears but suggests they can give Ava chance instead of expecting the worse. Steve tells Tripp that he should do that because she is his mother but reminds him that Ava was raised in a mob family and still has ties to the mob so it would be very easy for her to fall back into that life. Tripp says he won't let that happen. Steve wants Tripp to promise to keep his eyes open and never underestimate what his mother is capable of. Tripp says he already told Ava that he wouldn't live with her if she still had connections to the mob. Steve worries that Ava will say anything to get what she wants. Tripp decides he will take Ava at her word for now.

Brady brings up Chloe mentioning that she and Philip reconnected in New York and it not going well so this must have been awkward. Chloe says they were civil and talked about what went wrong with them. Chloe mentions that part of it was Mimi Lockhart. Brady questions Mimi breaking them up. Chloe says she took herself out of the running when Mimi got involved. Chloe wonders if she hadn't backed off, if Philip would be in the position he is in now. Brady questions what position is that.

Philip tells Victor that when he walked away from Titan the last time, he was done for good but then he realized how important Titan was to their family and himself. Philip says he realized how easily a business like this could be lost and how important it was to protect Titan for their family. Victor says that's why he hired him. Philip says there is something he has to tell him. Maggie then walks in and announces that Victor won't believe this, but Ava Vitali is alive.

Brady asks Chloe if Mimi broke Philip's heart. Chloe explains that she didn't break his heart but broke his wallet since Mimi started taking Philip to poker games and his old gambling habits kicked in then he ended up in a lot of debt. Brady guesses that's why Philip came back to run Titan. Chloe says she thought that too but Philip implied there was more to it than that but she has no idea.

Victor questions how Ava Vitali can be alive. Maggie tells him it's all over the news. Victor says that doesn't make any sense. Maggie adds that Joey got out of prison. Victor questions why Ava isn't in jail for kidnapping Kayla. Maggie says she apparently cut a deal. Philip suddenly declares that the last thing they need is that maniac running free. Maggie agrees and calls Ava violent, noting that she will take out her worst impulses on anyone who gets in her way. Victor remarks that he's grateful that the Kiriakis family never had any dealings with Ava so for once, they don't have any targets on their backs....

Tripp tells Steve that he should get going as he kept Ava waiting. Steve tells him to call if he needs anything. Steve knows having Ava back is a lot to process so he wants Tripp to take care of himself which he promises to do. Steve hugs Tripp and hopes for his sake that Ava has changed. Steve suggests Tripp can keep her on the straight and narrow. Tripp agrees to do his best. They say they love each other as Tripp thanks Steve for looking out for him and then walks away.

Claire tells Allie that Charlie didn't say much about his mom so she guesses they aren't really close. Claire adds that she did invite Charlie to spend Christmas with them and he said yes. Claire tells Allie that Charlie brought up mistletoe and calls it a really romantic moment. Allie tells her that she's so happy for her after everything she's been through as she deserves a really nice guy. Claire encourages that Allie will meet him at Christmas...

Ava argues that Charlie can't possibly expect her to keep quiet about this when her son is being accused of rape. Charlie argues that he is her son too and she's never done anything for him while he's always wanted a mother. Ava questions him wanting her to sacrifice her other child to protect him. Charlie argues that Tripp is getting off so nothing is going to happen to him. Ava brings up his reputation and says she's not doing this because it's wrong. Ava declares that Tripp didn't rape Allie and his name needs to be cleared. Charlie questions her just throwing him to the cops and complains that he has a life and girlfriend now. Charlie tells her to finally do the right thing for him because she owes him.

Brady tells Chloe that he's going home so she wins the overtime game since he has to get home to Rachel. Chloe says she's only sticking around to get numbers from the warehouse to give to Philip. Brady tells Chloe that she did a great job. Brady stops to say people think it might be crazy to work with your ex but he feels this might be the beginning of a beautiful work relationship. Chloe agrees as Brady exits.

Maggie tells Victor that he could use a good night sleep. Victor says he'll be up in a minute. Maggie tells Philip not to keep him up too late as she exits. Philip decides he will head to bed himself. Victor stops him and reminds him that he was about to tell him something. Philip claims he just feels he has a lot to prove to him and he wants to make things right by showing him he's capable of carrying the family business. Philip questions if he won't change his mind about hiring Xander. Victor acknowledges that Xander is his nephew but Philip is his only living son so he will sleep well at night knowing Titan is safe in his capable hands. Philip thanks him and says it means a lot as he says goodnight and exits.

Steve runs in to Allie in the town square. Steve says they haven't really had a chance to talk with everything that has happened.

Claire texts Charlie that she can't wait to spend Christmas with him at Marlena's.

Charlie argues that Ava has always loved Tripp more than him and he accepts that. Charlie says he's sorry that Tripp was taken from her and that he was not the son she wanted. Charlie declares that Ava can either clear Tripp's name and send him to Hell or she can keep quiet and protect them both. Charlie asks Ava not to tell Allie that he was the one or tell Tripp that they are brothers. Charlie tells Ava to prove that she loves him by not saying anything to anybody. Tripp then knocks on the door, asking if Ava is inside.
