Jennifer comes downstairs and looks at the flowers that Jack left. Jennifer says Jack always wanted things to be perfect between them but things were never perfect even though he pretended they were.

Abigail joins JJ and Jack at the Brady Pub and asks if there's room for one more. Jack doesn't respond so Abigail guesses that's a no and that he still wants nothing to do with her.

In the garage at the DiMera Mansion, Kate tells Jake that she's so glad the day is over. Jake asks how bad Thanksgiving with her sons can be. Kate says it was actually sad. Jake asks if she wants to talk about it which Kate laughs off and says is not something she does.

Roman walks outside the town square and runs in to Rafe Hernandez, making his return to Salem! Rafe guesses that Roman is either going to or coming from a family gathering. Roman instead questions what Rafe is doing back in Salem. Rafe responds that this is his home and where he belongs. Roman agrees and says it's good to see him. Rafe asks if he means that. Roman asks where he's heading. Rafe reveals he was going to see Hope but he didn't call her because he was hoping to surprise her. Rafe notes that Roman isn't saying anything so he wonders if he should call before he goes over there. Roman tells him not to call and not to go over there. Rafe asks what's going on and if Hope is okay. Roman responds that Hope is fine physically but she's not there because she left.

Jennifer goes back in to the living room and asks Julie if she can do anything. Julie says no and that Doug is finishing cleaning up. Jennifer wants to go help him but Julie says she asked Doug to give them a moment alone because they need to talk.

Jake tells Kate that they aren't bad at talking to each other. Jake talks about Kate always acting like things are fine. Jake brings up how Kate opened up to him about her time with Jack. Kate feels she never should have bothered him with that since they don't know each other very well. Jake assures she did not bother him at all and he's glad she told him about it. Kate admits that she opened up to him and he was there for her so Jake asks her to let him be there for her now.

Abigail tells Jack that she knows he's angry and that she shouldn't have brought the letter to the party. Abigail admits she should've came to him privately and given Jack the chance to tell Jennifer himself. JJ decides to go call Theo and give them a chance to talk. Jack thanks JJ as JJ exits the Pub. Abigail informs Jack that she apologized to Jennifer and they are good. Abigail admits that she really hates what Jack did to Jennifer but she should've handled it differently instead of drinking with her meds. Abigail adds that she wanted to hurt Jack the way he hurt her and all of them. Abigail cries that she can't take it back and she knows Jack doesn't want to be around her but she's sorry. Abigail apologizes for ruining a day that was about celebrating Jack and Jennifer. Abigail says she's sorry for hurting their family and she hopes at some point, Jack will be able to forgive her for that.

Chad sits alone in the living room of the DiMera Mansion, thinking back to finding Abigail passed out next to Jake on the couch. Gabi then walks in and questions what Chad is thankful for this Thanksgiving. Chad questions what the hell Gabi is doing back as he thought she was in Mexico with her sick mother. Chad says he was grateful for Gabi being out of their lives and tells her to go back where she came from. Gabi responds that this is her home. Chad says not anymore after what she did and especially now that Abigail is here.

Jack acknowledges that he made a horrible mistake with Kate and an even worse one when he lashed out at Abigail and blamed her for the fallout of the letter. Abigail thinks if she would have come to Jack privately, he could've handled Jennifer better and she wouldn't have been as hurt to hear it from him instead of in front of a room full of people. Jack doesn't think it would have been any less hurtful because no matter how it happened, it would've caused Jennifer just as much pain. Jack assures Abigail that this is all on him and no one else. Jack agrees that they can't go back but they can move forward as a family. Jack tells Abigail that he forgives her and he loves her but asks if she can forgive him.

Jennifer tells Julie that it's been a long day and she's tired so she's just going to go back to the Salem Inn and go to bed early. Julie says not before she apologizes for putting her on the spot when she asked in front of Jack if it would be alright if he stayed for Thanksgiving dinner. Julie understands Jennifer is still hurting and needs time. Jennifer thanks her for understanding. Julie adds that she's angry at Jack too but she listened to him talk about how he felt when she was in the coma and her heart went out to him. Julie acknowledges that Jack loves Jennifer. Julie states that today or tomorrow may be too soon but the day will come when she is ready because time heals all wounds. Julie then asks Jennifer if she thinks, in time, she will be able to forgive Jack for what happened with Kate.

Kate tells Jake that her family has had a really difficult year. She thought with Philip and Allie being back home, that they could all be together as a family and celebrate. Jake guesses it didn't go as she hoped. Kate says it didn't because Allie is going through a really difficult time. Jake recalls Kate going off on Steve about his son raping Allie and tells her that he's sorry. Kate says they all tried to put on holiday faces and talk around it but Allie and the whole family will have to live with what happened to her. Kate brings up Henry being a result of that rape.

Roman informs Rafe that after he left for Mexico, Jack and Shawn found out about Vincent being engaged to Wendy, the midwife who Ben had shot, and in Vincent's mind, he wanted Ben to pay and suffer the way he did so he kidnapped Ciara. Roman adds that it took a while and too long for them to track him down as he had driven Ciara to an airstrip. Roman explains how Shawn and Hope chased Vincent off and then the car exploded with Ciara inside. Roman says they did everything they could to put the fire out but it was impossible. Rafe is shocked to hear about Ciara's death and tells Roman that he's so sorry.

Jennifer tells Julie that she has given it a lot of thought and she can actually understand the night Jack slept with Kate. Jennifer what she would've done if the roles were reversed. Julie asks if it's possible then that there is a future for Jack and Jennifer.

Jack acknowledges that he said some very cruel things to Abigail which he would have liked to take back. Jack doesn't know if he can forgive himself for blaming Abigail when she's been through so much. Jack tells her the last thing he wants is for Abigail to feel guilty for his mistake. Jack begs her to stop beating herself up over this. Abigail agrees to try. Jack talks about being proud to be her father. Abigail tells Jack that she loves him. Jack says he loves her too as they hug. Abigail asks if he thinks Jennifer will ever be able to get past this. Jack points out that it's not the first time he's lied to Jennifer and hurt her. Jack says in the past, her big heart always managed to forgive him but this time, he doesn't know if there is any coming back from the pain that he has caused. Jack declares that he knows he could lose Jennifer but he doesn't want to lose his daughter. Abigail cries that she doesn't want to lose him either as they hug.

Kate tells Jake that Allie is really struggling and she knows Henry is a constant reminder of the rape so her heart breaks for Allie. Kate wishes there was more she could do or say to make things better for her. Jake tells Kate that there's nothing easy about what Allie is going through but he's seen the way Kate loves her family. Jake calls Kate strong and fierce so maybe her kind of love is exactly what Allie needs right now to feel safe again. Kate is impressed and calls Jake a constant surprise.

Rafe tells Roman that he can't believe it as he had just walked Ciara down the aisle and she was so happy with her whole life ahead of her. Rafe says her and Ben were so in love. Roman adds that all they recovered from the explosion was Ciara's wedding ring and they never found a body so Hope is convinced that Ciara escaped and is somewhere out there. Roman adds that Ben was sure of that too and that Vincent was the key. Roman explains that Hope and Ben tracked down Vincent and he swore he shot Ciara in the car before the explosion but Hope is just convinced that he's screwing with them so she hasn't given up hope that Ciara is still alive. Rafe states that he should've been there. Roman thought he couldn't be since his mom needed him. Roman asks if his mom is better and that's why he's back in Salem. Rafe then reveals his mother was never sick and it was all a lie.

Gabi questions Abigail being better. Chad tells her to shut her mouth because Abigail was only in the hospital because Gabi drugged her. Gabi tells him to move on already. Gabi says that Chad blaming her for drugging Abigail is a big waste of time because the person who actually did it is still out there, as Gwen then appears in the doorway.

Jennifer informs Julie that she doesn't think she can forgive Jack. Julie thought she said she understood. Jennifer clarifies that she understood that Jack was lonely and reaching out for comfort but not the lie. Jennifer questions how to forgive that because she feels like she can't trust Jack ever again.

Jack tells Abigail that he was feeling sorry for himself earlier with no family but now with his daughter and his son with him, he feels grateful and very lucky. JJ comes back inside and smiles as he sees Jack hugging Abigail, noting that's what he was hoping to see. JJ informs them that he has to get back to South Africa due to a business emergency with Theo. Jack questions having to do it on Thanksgiving. JJ confirms that he has to take the next flight out to South Africa which saddens Abigail and Jack.

Roman questions Rafe about the lie. Rafe explains that the day his father showed up in Salem, it wasn't to tell them that their mother was sick but that he got involved with very dangerous men and they wanted to take out their entire family. Rafe says he didn't believe him at first but then he found out they tried to kill Dario and realized how serious it was and that they needed to get out of town immediately. Roman realizes he couldn't tell Hope or it would have put her in danger right away which Rafe says he was not going to do. Rafe repeats that he should've stayed here and helped Hope look for Ciara.

Gabi questions what Gwen is doing here. Gwen responds that she lives here while Chad informs her that Gwen is their nanny. Gabi calls Gwen a slut and says whatever makes him happy. Chad responds that Gabi leaving would make him happy. Gabi declares that she came to see Jake and asks where he is. Gwen questions if Gabi really thinks she can just waltz back in to Jake's bed. Gabi tells her that this is between Jake and her. Gwen responds that she knows Jake very well and he likes to keep his bed warm with whoever is available so she wouldn't be surprised if he's already moved on.

Jake tells Kate that she has surprised him in a lot of ways too. Kate suggests he eat his turkey dinner. Jake responds that it's not what he is hungry for as he starts to kiss Kate.

JJ tells Abigail and Jack that he's sorry to leave so soon as he was looking forward to spending real time with everybody. Abigail is sorry that she turned his trip into a total nightmare. Jack blames himself for screwing up the most. Jack declares that they are still the best damn family in the world. Jack tells them to stay in touch as the three of them hug.

Gwen tells Gabi that it's bad enough that she slept Jake because he looks like her dead husband but that she used him to worm her way back in to DiMera is completely disgusting. Gabi argues that she has no idea what she's talking about. Gwen tells her that she does because Jake told her all of it so she can't deny it. Gabi admits that she said she used Jake to worm her way in to DiMera but that it was all a lie.

Rafe tells Roman that he should've sent Gabi ahead and stayed until they found Ciara. Roman argues that there isn't a thing he couldn't have done. Rafe says he could've stayed with Hope but Roman understands his family needed him and he had no choice. Roman asks if it's safe for Rafe to be here or if those men are still after his family.

Julie tells Jennifer that Jack lied to her because he loves her so much and was trying to protect her. Jennifer questions that justifying lying and doesn't think Julie would tolerate Doug lying to her for any reason.

Jake and Kate lay in bed together. Kate laughs about spending Thanksgiving in a garage work shop, making love to Vivian and Stefano's son which is reallly crazy even for her. Jake says it may be crazy but there's no place in the world he'd rather be.

Rafe tells Roman that he and his family are safe. Roman asks what happened. Rafe explains that once he got everyone secured in Mexico, he went after the men who were threatening them and the ones that are left will be behind bars for a very long time. Roman asks if the family is okay. Rafe confirms they are safe and that his mom is getting ready for Christmas as they speak. Rafe adds that Eduardo is with her while Dario is doing whatever he does and he doesn't know where. Rafe tells Roman that he and Gabi only had one place they wanted to be, so they came home to Salem to stay.

Gwen questions Gabi breaking Jake's heart with this lie and then pop back in to town expecting to get busy. Gabi calls Gwen trash and asks where Jake is because he needs to know the truth. Gwen remembers seeing Jake in bed with Kate so she suggests Gabi check the work shop. Gabi agrees to do so and exits.

Roman tells Rafe that it's great that he is back in Salem to stay. Rafe thanks him and wishes he had never gone, especially knowing what Hope went through. Rafe says he needs to see Hope and asks where she is. Roman clarifies that he didn't say Hope wasn't at home, she left Salem and they don't know where she's gone or when she will be back.

JJ goes to the Horton house to say goodbye to Jennifer. She questions him leaving so soon. JJ wishes he could stay but says this can't wait as Theo needs him. Jennifer tells him that she completely understands and she's happy that working with Theo has been such a success and she's very proud of him. JJ says he's just a phone call away. Jennifer tells him that she will miss him so much. JJ informs her that he took a slice of her pie to Jack and he was very grateful. Jennifer notes that it is his favorite. JJ tells her that Jack said they may take their hits but they are still the best damn family in the world and he agrees with him. JJ tells Jennifer that he loves her as they hug.

Chad tells Gwen that Gabi being back is not good news for the family or DiMera. Abigail then comes in and asks what they are talking about. Chad doesn't know how to tell her this but Gabi is home. Abigail questions her being in the house. Chad assures that if Gabi comes near her, she will have to deal with him.

Gabi goes to the garage where she finds Jake in bed with Kate.
