Roman goes to see Shawn. Shawn is glad because he gets to tell him in person that he's getting married today.

Belle goes to see John and Marlena. Belle announces that she and Shawn are getting married today which they are thrilled to hear.

Jan Spears sits outside the Brady Pub and thinks back to seeing Belle propose to Shawn in the interrogation room. Jan declares that it's her mission in life to stop Shawn from remarrying Belle. Jan looks through the window of the Brady Pub and sees Claire inside. Jan adds that her BFF Claire is going to help her with that mission.

Claire sits in the Pub and sends a text to Charlie, saying last night was super fun and she thanks him for dinner. Charlie is sitting at Julie's Place and texts back that he had a great time too. Charlie mentions being at Julie's Place for a meeting so he suggests they have dinner there tonight. Claire responds that she wishes but she can't. Jan then enters the Pub and joins Claire's table. Jan comments that Claire is glowing and asks if something happened that she needs to know about. Claire informs her that it's awesome so Jan asks her what's going on. Claire tells her that she and Charlie had dinner last night and had the best time.

Xander comes downstairs at the Kiriakis Mansion and finds Sarah coming from the living room. Sarah informs Xander that she planned to talk to Philip over coffee this morning to try to find out what he's up to but he decided to sleep in. Sarah adds that Philip doesn't sleep with his briefcase. Sarah says she didn't find any proof of embezzlement but she found his car keys. Sarah states that Philip will need a ride to work and she'll be happy to give him one to see what she can get out of him. Xander jokes that if she wasn't such a good doctor, she could be a detective at the Salem PD. Xander tells her to let him know what she finds out as he then exits the mansion.

John and Marlena congratulate Belle. Belle says it just never felt like the right time for a wedding but today is the anniversary of their original wedding. John comments on Shawn popping the question but Belle informs them that she was the one who proposed.

Shawn tells Roman that it will be a small wedding at John and Marlena's place. Roman points out that their last wedding was here at Hope's place. Shawn says that was perfect but obviously that won't happen. Roman knows he would like Hope to be there. Shawn says he sent Hope a text and she's happy for them. Roman asks how Hope is doing otherwise. Shawn says it's hard to tell sometimes because she always says she's fine but he still worries about her. Roman asks if Hope ever says anything about coming back. Shawn says Hope always shoots it down. Shawn adds that he calls her every day and texts her good night. Roman is glad they are in touch. Roman mentions sending messages to check in and Hope just says that she's doing fine but never mentions where she is or what she's up to. Shawn admits he misses her a lot but he respects and understands her decision. Shawn declares that it will be nice to have something to celebrate. Roman agrees and calls it great news as they are meant to be together. Shawn calls Belle the love of his life and says he can't imagine his life without her.

Claire tells Jan that she and Charlie worked things out as she explained that her kissing Theo was a mistake. Claire talks about how great their dinner was and says it wouldn't have happened without Jan. Claire credits Jan for the best date of her life. Jan says that's what friends are for and asks if Claire is seeing him again tonight. Claire admits that he invited her to dinner but she can't. Claire adds that she's already late so she has to go. Jan questions her standing Charlie up. Claire says she's just busy. Jan asks what if that's what Charlie thinks since they already had trust issues. Claire wishes she could but she can't cancel her plans as they are very important. Jan questions her not telling her BFF about her plans. Jan then decides she understands. Claire stops and guesses she's going to hear about it eventually.

Philip comes downstairs where Sarah greets him and offers him coffee. Philip thanks her but says he has no time. Philip opens his briefcase but can't find his car keys. Sarah offers to help him look so they head in to the living room. Sarah suggests retracing his steps. Philip gets a call from Ava, who warns him to watch his attitude and questions why he's not at work. Philip tells Sarah that he has to take this call and asks her for some privacy. Sarah agrees to go check the kitchen and exist the living room but stops to listen in from behind the door. Philip questions how Ava knows he's not at work. Ava tells him that she has eyes on him and Titan. Ava notes that Xander didn't show up either which would've been the ideal time for Philip to start laundering her money. Philip responds that he'll be there as soon as he finds his keys. Ava questions him losing his keys and says her faith in him is plummeting by the second. Philip assures that he will find them. Ava warns him not to screw this up, especially with Xander looking for any reason to take him down. Philip insists that he can handle Xander but Ava points out that he's not doing a good job so far. Ava informs him that she rented an apartment near Titan. Philip goes to get a pen to write down her address and says he'll be right there as Sarah continues listening in from behind the door.

Xander goes to Julie's Place and meets with Charlie. Xander guesses he's still in a bad mood over Claire kissing another guy. Charlie informs him that it was her ex-boyfriend and that he already left town. Charlie adds that he made his move and took her to dinner. Xander says he's impressed but thinks he looks like it didn't go well. Charlie tells him that it was great as Claire was sweet and funny and he thought they had a real connection but he asked her to dinner tonight and she said no without explanation. Charlie questions what's up with that and if she's playing hard to get or if she's not interested. Xander encourages that he did everything right but as he tried to warn him, Claire is nuts.

Belle tells John and Marlena about how things have been tense between her and Shawn since Philip came back to town and it didn't help that she agreed to represent Philip after he allegedly assaulted Jan Spears. John says he's inclined to side with anyone over Jan Spears. Belle tells them that she worked out a plea deal for Philip so the case is closed. Marlena guesses Shawn must feel relieved. Belle confirms that he does but she thinks Shawn still feels a little insecure about her feelings for him. Belle guesses that Shawn is easily triggered so no matter how much she assures him that he's the only man for her and there will never be anything with Philip, it makes her feel guilty. Marlena tells her that feeling guilty about the past is a waste of energy and what's important is to live in the present as things are wonderful between them now. Marlena says the past is the past and she's made that clear. Marlena thinks proposing to Shawn was a very wise thing since it shows Shawn that she is 100% with him. Belle just wishes she didn't have to reassure him and that Shawn just knew he's the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Belle calls Shawn the love of her life.

Jan asks Claire what she will hear about soon enough. Claire doesn't think she's going to like it. Claire then informs Jan that her parents are getting married. Jan calls that wonderful and asks why she thought she wouldn't like it. Jan claims to feel slightly offended by that. Jan asks why she wouldn't be happy for two people who think they are meant for each other to be getting married and questions how little Claire thinks of her. Claire explains that she was just worried that it might trigger her considering how she used to feel about Shawn. Jan claims she's not that easily triggered anymore as she worked really hard to develop a thick skin and not be the kind of person who is jealous. Claire says that's great. Jan admits she used to be obsessed with Shawn but says it was pathetic because he did not return her feelings at all and she was sick then with no self esteem. Jan adds that she did really stupid things. Claire says they don't have to talk about this but Jan wants to because she doesn't want Claire to think she's still pining after a man who doesn't have feelings for her. Jan repeats that she was obsessed with Shawn but she was sick then and thought Claire of all people would understand that. Claire assures that she does understand and notes that her sickness was similar. Jan calls it the exact same thing, losing her mind over a man who doesn't want her. Jan points out that it's not like Claire is still setting fires. Claire assures that she's better now and she would never allow herself to fall in love with someone who didn't love her back. Jan agrees that Claire has moved on and so has she. Claire apologizes for hurting her feelings. Jan accepts her apology and claims that she is happy for her parents. Claire calls it the best news.

Charlie tells Xander that Claire is not nuts. Xander mentions that Claire isn't the only one mentally ill in the family as her cousin Abigail had multiple personalities so he suggests Charlie steer clear of the whole gene pool. Charlie responds that he really likes that gene pool. Xander tells him to dive into it later because they have work to do here while the office isn't safe. Charlie questions why not. Xander asks if he can trust him. Charlie says of course so Xander informs him that he thinks Philip is stealing from the company.

Sarah moves away from the door as Philip comes out of the living room. Sarah tells him that she had no luck. Philip says he didn't either but he can't waste any more time as he has a meeting. Sarah asks if it's a big fancy deal in the works. Philip says it's hard to say but he hopes his driver is around. Sarah mentions being on her way to work and offers to drive him. Philip doesn't want to impose but Sarah says Titan is hardly out of her way. Philip says he's actually just going to the town square if she's sure so Sarah then exits with Philip.

John asks Belle what the plan is. Belle hoped since it would only be immediate family that they could have the ceremony here. John agrees with that so Belle adds that the only thing to make it more perfect is if Marlena agrees to perform the ceremony. Marlena says nothing would make her happier or more proud. Belle guesses she should go get ready then. Marlena offers to help her. Belle says she got a room at the Salem Inn so Shawn won't see her before the wedding and Claire is going to meet her there. Marlena then gets a call from Shawn. Marlena tells him that Belle just gave them the wonderful news and declares that a celebration of love is exactly what this family needs. Shawn says he was calling to thank Marlena for agreeing to perform the ceremony as he knew she would. Marlena calls them two of her favorite people and declares that she has a wedding to plan as they hang up.

Jan asks Claire where the wedding will be. Claire informs her that Belle is hoping to have the ceremony at John and Marlena's place with just family. Jan says she thinks that's sweet. Claire tells her that she has to get going. Jan guesses that Claire is going to help Belle get ready. Jan asks if Belle is getting ready at Marlena's. Claire mentions having a room at the Salem Inn. Jan talks about the bride and groom not seeing each other before the wedding and how in the old days, people feared the groom would call off the wedding if he saw the bride. Jan assures that with Claire's skills, Belle will be the most beautiful bride. Jan asks her to give them her best which Claire agrees to do. Jan then declares that she just got the best idea.

Belle asks John to walk her down the aisle since he didn't get to last time thanks to Stefano. John calls that one of the great disappointments in life but today will be one of the great pleasures. Belle says she'll always love John looking out for her. John says she'll never be too old to be his little girl and he will never stop watching out for her as he hugs her.

Jan suggests Claire asks Charlie to be her date to the wedding. Claire reminds her it's family only while Jan points out that no one said she can't bring a guest. Claire points out that they've only gone on one date. Jan reminds Claire that Charlie had invited her to dinner tonight. Claire notes that she didn't get a chance to explain why she couldn't go. Jan feels she has to invite him or he will think she's blowing him off. Claire asks if Jan thinks it's weird for Charlie to meet her family this soon and at a wedding. Jan encourages Claire to make Charlie her boyfriend and comments that life is short, bringing up what happened to Ciara. Jan declares that if Claire really cares about Charlie then she has to seize this moment.

Charlie questions Xander thinking Philip is stealing. Xander says that's why they have to meet here instead of at Titan as they can't risk Philip overhearing them. Xander asks if he's sure he can count on Charlie's help. Charlie says he owes him for all the advice about Claire so however he can help, he's in. Xander points out that Charlie works for both of them so he asks if he's noticed any odd behavior from Philip. Charlie says not that he's noticed. Xander says he doesn't have any proof of embezzlement but he has someone on the case as they speak.

Philip arrives in the town square while Sarah hides off to the side wearing sunglasses and a big coat. Philip remarks that his day keeps getting better as he comes across Shawn. Shawn informs Philip that he heard he finally admitted to assaulting Jan Spears. Philip says that's not exactly what happened. Shawn points out that he plead guilty. Philip says the charges were trumped up and he's confident he would've been acquitted. Shawn questions why he plead out then. Philip responds that he did it for Belle. Philip says he knew all that time they were spending together was twisting Shawn up inside and he didn't want Belle going home every night to his crazy jealousy so he copped a plea. Shawn questions why the hell when he would be jealous of him. Shawn says he didn't want Belle around Philip because he's manipulative and dishonest. Philip remarks that if he really wanted to, he could steal Belle away from him in a New York minute. Shawn tells Philip to keep living in that fantasy land because he and Belle are getting married today. Philip laughs at him and accuses him of being so insecure that he popped the question because he was afraid of losing her. Shawn says he won't dignify that with an answer. Belle arrives and asks if everything is okay here. Shawn says he was just telling Philip the good news but instead of congratulating him, he took the low road. Shawn suggests Belle can set Philip straight since he seems to think that he proposed to Belle because he was afraid that Philip would steal her away from him. Belle calls that ridiculous and clarifies to Philip that she was the one who popped the question because she loves Shawn with all her heart and she knows they belong together so she can't wait to spend the rest of her life with him. Philip wishes them happiness. Shawn tells him that the wedding is today if he wants to attend, suggesting they can bury the hatchet. Philip thanks him but says he has places to be and walks away. Shawn and Belle walk on as well. Sarah watches Philip go and then gets a call from Xander, who asks if she has any news. Sarah says she can't talk right now because Philip is on his way to a meeting so she has to stay close as she then hangs up and follows after him.

Xander informs Charlie that according to his spy, Philip is taking a detour before work. Xander instructs Charlie to keep his eyes on Philip when he gets to work. Charlie guesses he's been dumped already so he doesn't have anything better to do.

Claire questions if Jan really thinks Charlie could handle meeting her family so soon. Jan asks what's to handle and calls her family fabulous so she should be proud of them. Jan thinks it shows Charlie that she really likes him by having him share in this special moment. Claire worries that it seems a little pushy but Jan calls it gutsy. Jan thinks it will inspire Charlie to take the relationship to the next level. Jan encourages Claire to go for it. Jan reminds her that she's given her great advice so far and assures that she should not pass up this opportunity. Claire guesses there is no harm in asking. Claire starts to text him but Jan says inviting him to a family wedding should be done in person. Claire brings up that she has to go help her mom get ready. Jan says it won't take forever. Jan thinks Belle would appreciate the alone time on her special day. Claire brings up Charlie saying he had a breakfast meeting at Julie's Place this morning. Jan calls that a sign. Claire thanks her for suggesting this as she then hurries out of the Pub. Jan remarks to herself that the pleasure will be all hers now that she knows exactly how to stop this wedding. Jan then exits the Pub.

Philip goes to Ava's apartment and knocks on the door. Sarah hides behind the corner watching him.

Xander tells Charlie that if he sees anything out of place, he wants to know about it. Claire arrives and tells Xander that she needs to speak to Charlie. Xander says not if she's going to jerk him around again which she questions. Xander goes over Charlie telling him that he took her on a very nice date last night and then tonight asked her out again but she blew him off. Claire tries to explain but Xander won't hear it. Charlie says he can handle this. Xander says he just wants to understand why Claire wouldn't want to go out with a great guy like him.

Belle questions Shawn inviting Philip to the wedding and jokes that was way too much because he could've said yes. Shawn says then he just would've had to share in their joy. Belle says they both would've hated it and says this is supposed to be a very happy occasion with family only. Shawn knows his presence would not have been fun but he was just thinking about marrying the most incredible woman in the world and he couldn't keep it to himself. Belle says he can tell Philip but not invite him since he's not exactly thrilled that they are together. Shawn knows it was a stupid and impulsive move but he's not coming so all is well. Shawn says they will have a lovely wedding without him and apologizes. Shawn tells Belle that he loves her and can't wait to call her his wife again as nothing would make him happier. Belle assures that she's not mad at him. Shawn stops and says they shouldn't be doing this as they are not supposed to see each other since they are getting married today. Belle calls that a silly tradition and declares that nothing could ruin their happiness. Shawn and Belle kiss as Jan comes around the corner and watches them.

Shawn goes to John and Marlena's. Shawn says he can't believe they are doing this today. John is all for a spur of the moment wedding and says this is the way to do it. John adds that he's never seen Belle so excited and how crazy she is about him. John knows they've had some challenges in the relationship but he also knows Belle is grateful to share her life with Shawn because he is the love of her life. Shawn thanks him and says Belle means everything to him. Shawn thanks them for hosting the wedding.

Belle goes to her room at the Salem Inn and lays out her wedding dress on the bed. Jan then shows up at her door with a wedding present.

Xander questions what's wrong with Claire and what's not to like about Charlie. Claire argues that she does like Charlie a lot so Xander asks why she turned him down for a date. Claire tells Charlie that she's sorry for the confusion and that he's upset but her parents are getting married today so she was hoping Charlie would be her date to the wedding.

Philip knocks again on Ava's door. Ava answers and says it's about time. Sarah remains hiding around the corner.
