Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 11/18/20

Gwen goes to visit Dr. Rolf in prison.

Chad goes to see Jake in the garage. Jake asks if he came about last night again but Chad says it's not about that. Chad informs Jake that he called Mr. Shin's assistant and she said there was no record of him leaving a message so he asks what Jake and Gwen were really talking about. Chad questions why Jake is lying to him and what he's up to.

Abigail goes to the Salem Inn and tells JJ that she was really hoping to talk to Jennifer. JJ notes that she said she won't be long and asks if she wants to come in and wait. Abigail says she wants to but doesn't know if Jennifer will want to see her. JJ agrees that she threw her a curveball. Abigail says she came to tell her how really sorry she is.

Jack goes to the Brady Pub. Roman tells him he's sorry he couldn't make it to the party last night. Jack tells him to be glad he missed it and orders a drink. Roman says it sounds like something went really wrong at the party which Jack calls the understatement of the decade.

Kate starts to walk off from the park but Jennifer approaches and asks if she's going somewhere. Kate says she'd love to stay and chat but she's late for an appointment. Jennifer stops her and warns her not to walk away from her.

Roman asks Jack what happened. Jack doesn't want to put more on Roman's plate with everything Allie is going through. Roman assures he can still be a good listener. Jack talks about Roman listening plenty when Jennifer was in the coma. Roman is glad he could be there when he needed to talk. Jack says he doesn't deserve Roman's sympathy this time and he's not up for being told off again. Roman asks what he did now. Jack decides Roman's going to hear about it anyways. Jack says it's been a big week with the anniversary of he and Jennifer's wedding, the anniversary of Jennifer waking up from her coma, and now thanks to him it will be best remembered as the week he ended their marriage.

Kate tells Jennifer that she really doesn't want to get into this with her. Jennifer says that's too bad because she's more than ready to get into it with her. Kate tells her that what happened with her and Jack was one night over a year ago and she's had nothing to do with him since. Jennifer mocks Kate's word. Kate refuses to do this. Jennifer reveals she saw Jack and Kate together 5 minutes ago so if there is anything else she doesn't know, she will track down sources to fill in the blanks and then she will make Kate's life miserable just like she made hers.

JJ encourages Abigail that Jennifer will get over this in time. Abigail blames herself for Jennifer finding out the way she did. Abigail has no idea why she even brought the letter to the party. Abigail doesn't know how to explain it to Jennifer when she can't explain it to herself. Abigail swears she has no idea what came over her..

Dr. Rolf didn't expect to see Gwen again after their last encounter when he threatened to expose her to Chad and Abigail. Gwen points out that he threatened but did not follow through. Dr. Rolf says that is because she agreed to that little favor for him. Gwen reminds him to keep silent and says she came to thank him and to update him on "Operation Destroy Abigail's Life."

Kate assures Jennifer that there is nothing that she doesn't know. Jennifer questions what they were talking about and asks if Kate is planning to move in on Jack since she moved out. Jennifer adds that she heard Kate say she kept Jack's letter because his friendship meant so much to her. Kate says she won't apologize for that because they had a friendship and one day a year ago they went too far. Jennifer questions why they were talking just now then. Kate says they ran into each other and she told him how sorry she is that all of this came out and that they were hurt which Jennifer blames Kate for. Kate accepts that she hurt her and she regrets it but insists that she has no interest in Jack. Jennifer asks if that's the same way she had no interest in her father.

JJ encourages Abigail to try to calm down because he and Jennifer don't blame her for what happened. JJ admits the timing could've been better but Abigail wasn't herself and this was going to hurt Jennifer no matter how or when she heard. Abigail blames herself for drinking with her meds and promises to never do that again. Abigail says it's so weird that it's all such a blur to her. Abigail doesn't remember deciding to take a drink or why she kept drinking. JJ relates to the drinking. Abigail says Chad mentioned Gwen trying to stop her but she doesn't remember that either, though she wishes that she listened.

Chad asks Jake again what he and Gwen were really talking about. Jake thinks back to warning Gwen to keep her mouth shut about him and Kate. Jake then tells Chad that he's making a big deal about nothing. Chad decides he'll go talk to Gwen then but Jake stops him.

Gwen tells Dr. Rolf that she was quite upset with him last time when he wouldn't give her the drug that fried Abigail's brain but she still managed to make her head explode. Gwen says Rolf should have seen it as she outed Jack's affair with Kate in front of all the friends and family. Gwen adds that she still needed luck to pull it off but it was glorious and couldn't have gone any better. Dr. Rolf asks how she got Abigail to reveal Jack's indiscretion in such a public humiliating fashion. Gwen explains that she first made sure that Abigail found the letter from Jack to Kate and then she kept pouring her champagne to get her to calm down and she was so broken up over Jack and Kate that she didn't even realize how much champagne she was drinking. Gwen declares that in one night, she blew Jack and Jennifer's wedding and made Abigail the bad guy in Jack's eyes. Dr. Rolf notes that she's quite impressed with herself. Gwen admits that she is quite pleased and declares that now it's on to phase two. Dr. Rolf asks what that is. Gwen explains that now that Abigail's parents' marriage is in the dumps, it's time to work on Abigail's marriage and she knows exactly how she's going to do it.

Jake starts to explain to Chad when Li Shin arrives and tells Jake that he got his message and was in town so he decided to come answer him in person. Chad is confused as Jake tells Chad that he was just about to explain that he did leave a message for Shin and was being honest the entire time.

Abigail tells JJ that the letter threw her for so many reasons as she thought about all her time in Florida and her months in treatment being hard on Chad. Abigail knows Chad remained faithful but she worries about if she had to stay in the clinic for a year longer and if that would be okay to ask Chad to wait indefinitely. Abigail says what Jack did to Jennifer makes her sick but she can't help but see herself in the same situation. Abigail gets why Jack blames her for making Jennifer find out in the worst possible way. JJ feels there isn't a good way to find out that he screwed around while she was in a coma. JJ assures that Jack and Kate are totally to blame for this. JJ argues that Jack has a lot of nerve coming down on Abigail when she was here for both of them while Jennifer was in a coma. JJ adds that he was useless back then so Abigail shouldn't blame herself for anything. Abigail calls JJ the best brother. JJ knows Abigail didn't set out to hurt them but she learned something that Jennifer deserved to know. Abigail wonders if she should've went to Jack first and let him tell her. JJ argues that he could've decided not to tell her and she would have had to live with that. Abigail declares that no matter what JJ says to make her feel better, she really feels like it wasn't her place to do what she did so she will regret it for the rest of her life.

Jack talks to Roman about how Gwen went through all this trouble to create this beautiful celebration for their anniversary and even flew JJ in to surprise them so she must really love their family. Jack calls it a great night and then he noticed Abigail was acting strange and distant so he thought maybe she was nervous about her speech. Jack explains how Abigail started her speech and then pulled out another paper which Roman guesses was Jack's letter to Kate.

Jennifer argues that Kate decided to have sex with a man, who's wife was in a coma, and that Kate also had an affair with Jennifer's dad while her mom was fighting mental illness which caused a major relapse. Jennifer blames Kate for her family falling apart. Kate argues that Jennifer's parents' marriage was falling apart long before she came into the picture. Jennifer accuses Kate of taking Jack to bed when he was most vulnerable and their marriage was far from over until Kate got her hooks in to Jack. Jennifer questions Kate preying on lonely men. Kate mocks the idea of Jack being an innocent victim of her but assures that his heart was completely in to everything they were doing with the rest of his body. Jennifer then slaps Kate. Kate says she didn't know Jennifer had that in her. Kate thinks Jennifer just scratched her with her wedding ring. Kate wonders if Jennifer can take it as well as she dishes out as Kate then slaps Jennifer.

Jack questions Roman knowing all along about he and Kate. Roman clarifies that he wasn't for sure but he suspected it. Jack didn't think they were that obvious. Roman reminds him that he was a cop. Roman recalls Jack coming in every night and sitting at Kate's station. Roman says he could see a connection and he was glad someone was there to keep an eye on Jack as he was drinking more than usual. Roman remembers that Jack suddenly stopped coming in and then right after that, he saw a letter come in for Kate with Jack's address on it. Jack notes that Roman doesn't miss a thing and assures that it wasn't an affair as it happened once when he drank too much and he instantly regretted it. Jack explains that the next morning, he wrote Kate the letter saying they couldn't see each other anymore and they never did. Jack argues that Jennifer would have never found out about it if it wasn't for Abigail.

JJ tells Abigail that it's all out in the open now and maybe it's for the best since secrets have a way of coming out. JJ suggests Jennifer could have found out some other way. Abigail says then at least it wouldn't be on her conscience. Abigail wishes she didn't open Kate's closet. JJ jokes that if anyone has skeletons in their closet, it's Kate.

Gwen tells Dr. Rolf that when she got Abigail drunk, she didn't count on Jake being next to her looking so concerned. Dr. Rolf asks if she arranged it so that Chad witnessed the same thing. Gwen says she made sure that Chad had a nice long look at that scene and he'll never get over the fact that Abigail already had a thing with Jake's identical twin brother so it won't take much for Chad to lose his mind over them.

Li Shin hopes he didn't come at a bad time. Jake tells him it's actually the perfect time since Chad was just calling him a liar and saying he didn't leave a message. Chad explains that Shin's assistant told him that he didn't leave a message. Jake explains that the assistant never got the message because he called Shin on his cell phone. Chad questions how he got his number. Jake says that Shin told him to call at any time. Shin says he was pleased that Jake was direct about his desire for a larger role in the company. Chad points out that he offered Jake a spot in DiMera's executive training program but he declined. Jake questions how that would look for Stefano's son. Jake argues that Chad has seen what he can do and he thinks that should give him a shot at the CEO position. Chad doesn't believe Jake is ready for that. Jake feels Chad is just trying to make him look bad. Jake points out that Mr. Shin wouldn't have come if he didn't believe in him himself. Shin agrees and says he had been giving much thought as to what role Jake should play in the company and he's come to a decision.

Dr. Rolf argues that it's much easier to destroy one night than it is a marriage. Dr. Rolf points out that Abigail has been devoted to Chad for years and they have two children while she just inexperienced with one night of infidelity did to her parents so it could be impossible to entice her to cheat on Chad. Gwen explains that she doesn't need Abigail to cheat on Chad, just for Chad to think that she did. Gwen says Jake is now sleeping with Kate and Kate is close with Chad so she's desperate not to let Chad find out that she is with his brother, who he despises. Gwen adds that Jake is too horny to be careful so Chad will find out that Jake is having a thing with someone in the house. Dr. Rolf realizes Gwen plans to get Chad to think that Jake is sleeping with Abigail and not Kate. Gwen declares that Chad will kick Abigail to the curb and she will be right there to comfort him.

Li Shin sees validity in Chad and Jake's arguments. He acknowledges that Jake lacks experience and finesse but he does have a legitimate claim to the same rights Chad has as the son of Stefano DiMera and he's shown real talent and potential. Shin announces the board would like Chad to remain the sole CEO but they would like to offer Jake the opportunity to be the vice president. Jake accepts that as long as there is opportunity to climb the ladder. Shin adds that he will be on probation where he's expected to prove he's prepared for the demands of the job. Chad guesses he doesn't have a choice. Shin believes everyone will be satisfied with this in the end and says he will see them at the next shareholders' meeting. Jake thanks him and assures he won't be sorry that he gave him a chance. Shin says they will be in touch and exits. Chad warns Jake not to gloat as he's going to watch him implode.

Abigail tells JJ that she just wanted last night to be so special for Jack and Jennifer. JJ wants her to stop beating herself up. Abigail isn't sure it's best that the truth came out since it's just making them miserable. JJ encourages her to give it time and Jennifer will eventually get over it then Jack will stop being mad and it will work itself out. Abigail agrees to try to believe that.

Jack can't believe Abigail read that letter in public and humiliated her mother that way. Roman points out that she was drinking. Jack argues that part of her had to know what she was doing. Roman argues that part of him had to know what he was doing when he slept with Kate. Roman knows Abigail instigated it but asks if she's really the one to blame. Jack wishes she handled the situation differently but admits the person he is maddest at is himself.

Kate tells Jennifer that when she first came to town, she was battered and beaten and swore to never let that happen again. Jennifer mocks her remorse. Kate says she wouldn't turn the other cheek. Jennifer talks about trying so hard for Lucas to get over what Kate did to her family. Kate mocks the idea of Jennifer trying to make her feel welcome. Kate argues that Jennifer never forgave her or else she wouldn't be throwing it in her face now. Kate declares that Jennifer's father saved her life and was a good man. Kate adds that Jack is a good man and spent almost a year waiting for Jennifer to improve. Kate says all the doctors including Kayla said it was virtually hopeless but Jack still thought he saw a sign so he sat by her side all day and night but when nothing happened, he was decimated and he temporarily gave up hope. Kate continues that in Jack's despair, he turned to her but the next morning he knew it was a mistake. Kate asks how long Jennifer expected Jack to wait and tells her to get over herself. Kate adds that she's sorry Jennifer is hurt but says Jack did not fall in her bed because of lack of love for Jennifer. Kate explains that Jack had lost Jennifer forever so it didn't matter to him what he did. Kate says she knew Jack needed to be close to someone so she's not sorry for that. Kate questions how Jennifer can justify the way she's treating a man who sat next to her every single night for a year, except for one night. Kate brings up Jack being the father of Jennifer's children and the man she loved for entire life so she knows he is his own worst enemy. Kate reminds her that Jack blamed himself for Abigail's illness and ran away for years. Kate warns that if Jennifer keeps pushing Jack away and refuses to forgive him then she will lose him again. Kate then walks away.

Jack tells Roman that he has screwed everything up again and calls that his one great talent in life. Roman encourages Jack to fight for his marriage and not give up. Jack asks if he really thinks there's a chance. Roman says it might take awhile but he does. Jack hopes so and thanks him for listening. Roman points out that Jack didn't touch his drink. Jack declares that if he stayed sober that night, things would be a lot different. Roman notes that Jack can't change what happened and can only try to make things right going forward. Jack responds that he intends to. Roman tells him the drink is on the house. Jack thanks him for everything and then exits the Pub.

Abigail tells JJ that she has to get back to the kids and asks him to tell Jennifer that she came by. JJ reminds her that their family has been through a lot worse so they can get through this too. JJ promises it will be okay. Abigail asks what she would do without him as they hug.

Chad starts to leave the garage when he sees Abigail's scarf on the floor. Jake explains that Abigail came by earlier to apologize even though she didn't need to. Chad warns Jake that he comforts his wife, not Jake. Chad then exits.

Dr. Rolf says it seems Gwen has it all worked out so he wonders why she dislikes Abigail so much. Gwen responds that she doesn't dislike Abigail, she hates her guts. Dr. Rolf says he's been hypothesizing about her possible motive for hating her guts and wanting to ruin her life. Gwen would love to hear what he came up with. Dr. Rolf goes over Gwen working so hard to secure a position under Stefano's roof so perhaps she's another long lost relative but her desire for an affair with Chad rules out that theory which Gwen confirms. Dr. Rolf says he's very good at keeping secrets. Gwen asks if he really wants to know the whole story. Rolf hopes she won't keep him in suspense after everything he's done for her. Gwen agrees to tell him everything.

Kate goes to the garage where Jake tells her she will never believe what just happened. Jake stops and asks if she's okay. Kate responds that she's actually disgusted, exasperated, and angry so she needs to blow off some steam. Jake tells her that she came to the right place then.

Gwen fills Dr. Rolf in on the whole story and asks if he understands now why she hates Abigail Deveraux-DiMera. Rolf says he's beginning to get the picture.

Chad goes to the living room and brings Abigail her scarf. She asks where he found it. Chad claims she must have dropped it outside on her way out. Chad asks if Abigail saw Jennifer but Abigail says she was out so she cried on JJ's shoulder the whole time and he tried to persuade her that everything will be okay which is hard to believe. Chad asks if she will believe him if he tells her the same thing. Chad encourages that Jack and Jennifer love each other and love can overcome just about anything.

Jennifer walks through the town square and starts to head to the Salem Inn when Jack spots her and calls out to her. Jennifer turns away and rushes on in to the Salem Inn.
