At home, Tripp talks to Steve about not sleeping much since the situation with Allie started. Tripp mentions waiting until Kayla left to come out of his room. Steve tells him he doesn't need to do that but Tripp doesn't want to make Kayla uncomfortable. Tripp points out that Kayla barely speaks to him. Tripp says he's sorry as he never wanted this to come between them. Steve insists that Tripp has done nothing wrong. Steve then informs Tripp that Allie did turn the DNA results into the police.

Melinda goes to see Allie and tells her that they need to talk.

Eli says maybe one day in the future, he will be able to tell Lani what really happened but for now he thinks it's better to keep it on the down low. Lani then appears and asks what Eli and Abe are keeping from her.

Xander wonders who Philip was talking to on the phone. Sarah says she couldn't hear their voice but that Philip sounded desperate to placate the other person. Xander wonders if he's afraid of whoever it is. Sarah wonders if Philip is taking orders from someone else. Xander questions who would want to help Philip take him down. Xander then declares that he thinks he knows who it is.

Philip turns around and sees who is behind him, then asks what the hell they are doing here. It is revealed to be Ava Vitali. Philip thought they agreed she would keep her distance because the rest of the world believes that Ava Vitali is dead. Philip declares that it's better if it stays that way. Ava asks what he's so worried about. Philip responds that her being here could ruin everything and asks what she's doing in Salem. Ava says she came to check on him because he came close to losing her trust. Philip asks what she wants from him. Ava responds that he knows what she wants. Philip questions how he's supposed to launder mob money through Titan when Xander is constantly looking over his shoulder.

Xander can't believe he didn't think of this sooner and says it's obvious who Philip is working with. Xander thinks it's Brady since it was his mission to destroy Titan because of what he and Victor did to Kristen. Xander wonders if Kristen being locked up reignited the fire for Brady to join forces with Philip to plot his downfall.

Tripp insists to Steve that he's innocent. Steve says he's just trying to make sense of all this. Steve questions how Tripp's DNA matches Allie's baby when he never slept with her. Steve then gets a call from Justin. Steve hangs up and informs Tripp that Justin met with Melinda and she's made a decision on whether or not to file criminal charges against him.

Allie tells Melinda that she doesn't understand as this doesn't make any sense. Melinda says she's sorry. Allie argues that Tripp raped her and now Melinda is telling her there is nothing she can do about it.

Tripp questions Melinda not charging him with rape. Steve explains that according to Justin, Melinda doesn't think it's her case to prosecute because the alleged assault happened outside her jurisdiction. Steve calls that good news but notes that Tripp doesn't seem very relieved. Tripp points out that it doesn't change anything but Steve says he's not going to prison. Tripp explains that it doesn't change people's perception of him since everyone believes Allie. Steve asks if he's saying he wants to go to trial. Tripp says nobody wants to but part of him is conflicted, thinking he could defend himself in trial and maybe even clear his name. Steve thinks they need to accept this outcome and be grateful because if it went to trial, the jury might have convicted him. Tripp agrees and appreciates everything Justin has done for him. Tripp wishes this never happened. Steve says they all do. Steve tells Tripp that he's wrong about everyone believing Allie because he still believes him. Tripp says he has to ask him why.

Melinda understands Allie is upset. Allie complains that she's disgusted and questions her letting Tripp get away with this. Melinda argues that she's not legally allowed to prosecute this case in Salem. Allie argues that she and Tripp live here. Melinda explains that the alleged assault happened in another jurisdiction and country. Allie asks if that's it and Tripp doesn't get punished. Allie mentions that Lani warned her that this would happen.

Eli tells Lani that he and Abe saw how upset she was after Theo left so they hatched a plan. Eli explains that they want to make her happy so they decided to throw her a surprise baby shower. Abe goes along with it while Lani questions them throwing the baby shower. Abe asks if she doesn't think they can pull it off. Eli adds that he figures Julie would be in charge of the details. Lani calls it sweet of them but she doesn't think she's up for a baby shower because of Kristen.

Sarah asks Xander where he's going. Xander says if Brady blames him, he's not going to sit here while he and Philip stab him in the back. Sarah questions if he's going to confront Brady. Xander wants to make him admit he's still trying to sabotage the family business. Sarah tells Xander that she won't let him do that because he tends to be overzealous in these situations. Sarah adds that an altercation with Brady won't keep Xander in Victor's good graces. Sarah thinks it's a bad idea to agitate Brady if he is aligned with Philip. Xander feels he can't just let him get away with it. Sarah tells Xander that if he needs someone to get Brady to tell the truth, she will talk to him. Xander is surprised she would do that for him. Sarah says they are a team. Sarah tells him that she will see him at home, hopefully with answers about Philip. Sarah then exits, leaving Xander with a smile.

Philip tells Ava that he did what he asked; he came back to Salem and demanded Victor put him in charge of Titan but he had no idea that he would be stuck with Xander as co-CEO. Ava tells him that Xander is his problem, not hers, because he owes her. Ava reminds Philip how big of a debt he owes. Philip reminds her that he promised to make it up to her organization. Ava says he promised that this deal with Titan was a sure thing. Ava warns that she could have let her cousin Angelo deal with him like he wanted to. Philip argues that he has a right to know the risk his partners are taking that might jeopardize his position. Ava says she is here to ensure he delivers on what he promised. Philip asks if she's sure that's why she's back in Salem. Philip questions if she's here just to rattle his cage or to see if she can get her hooks back in to Steve Johnson.

Eli questions what Kristen has to do with Lani's baby shower. Lani says they might not know this but it's tradition that a baby shower is hosted by the mom to be's best friend and not only would Kristen not be able to host, she wouldn't even be there. Abe understands that would be hard for her. Lani asks how she could enjoy her baby shower, knowing Kristen can't be there with her and is locked away from her daughter in prison.

Sarah goes to Brady's room at the Salem Inn and says she's here to talk to him about his uncle Philip.

Ava tells Philip that she would like to see Steve but she can't show herself to him since his son Joey is in prison for her murder and she's also a wanted woman. Philip says he's aware of her crimes on her last visit to Salem and that she's not in prison because everyone thinks she's dead. Ava responds that she needs to keep it that way for now so she cannot see Steve or her son Tripp.

Steve tells Tripp that he believes him because when he looked into his eye and swore he never slept with Allie, he knew he was telling the truth. Steve says he's a pretty good judge of character and he knows Tripp is a good man. Steve knows he's respectful of women so there's no way in Hell he could've done this because it's not in him. Tripp thanks Steve for believing in him when no one else in town does. Tripp then hugs Steve.

Allie tells Melinda that she should've known better and questions why she even bothered filing the complaint in the first place. Melinda encourages that she did the right thing as it takes great courage to report a sexual assault. Allie insists that she's telling the truth. Melinda says she knows Tripp and he was always kind to Haley. Allie questions if that means he's not capable of rape. Allie thinks that Melinda thinks she's lying. Melinda assures that she takes her accusations very seriously but she's not in a position to do anything about them. Allie states that coming forward and telling her story was all for nothing but Melinda says not necessarily. Melinda tells Allie that she can send her case file to London. Allie asks if they could prosecute him there which Melinda confirms. Melinda says she'll only do it if Allie agrees to it so it's her call. Allie asks if she can think about it which Melinda allows. Melinda tells her to call her when she makes her decision. Allie thanks her as Melinda then exits.

Tripp tells Steve that him believing in him is the only thing getting him through all of this. Steve encourages that he's strong and will survive. Tripp wishes there was a way to convince other people that he's telling the truth, especially Kayla. Tripp says he has so much respect for Kayla but he can't expect her to take his word over scientific evidence. Steve assures that Kayla loves him. Tripp responds that he knows, but she's not his mom...

Philip questions Ava never really knowing her son. Ava responds that she doesn't want to talk about Tripp or Steve. Philip says as long as he knows she's focused on the right things. Ava warns that he's the one that needs to focus on the task at hand and keep up his end of the bargain. Philip says he knows what is at risk here. Ava says she was willing to do whatever it took to get rid of Kayla to get what she wanted. Ava asks if Philip is capable of doing the same to his rival. Philip questions if she's asking if he's willing to kill Xander. Ava tells Philip that he has to make a choice and in life it's survival of the fittest. Ava warns that unless Philip takes care of Xander, he will be the one to pay the price.

Sarah tells Brady that it's become very clear to her and Xander that Philip might be up to no good at Titan. Brady asks how. Sarah explains that Xander thinks Philip is trying to undermine him and that he might be working with someone on the outside. Brady questions thinking it's him. Sarah notes that Xander is very confident. Brady asks why the hell he'd want to work with Philip. Sarah suggests maybe he still holds a grudge against Xander and Victor for what they did to Kristen. Brady declares that he doesn't give a damn who runs Titan as he's done with it so Xander and Philip can eat each other alive and take Victor with them for all he cares. Brady assures that he has nothing to do with it and his only concern right now is Kristen and trying to take care of his little girl as nothing else matters. Rachel wakes up crying. Brady guesses she wants her mom as he goes to take care of her.

Abe tells Lani that he knows how she feels but life goes on. Eli encourages Lani to find a way to appreciate how lucky they are. Lani assures that she appreciates Eli and the babies so much. Abe suggests hiring someone to video the baby shower so when Lani visits Kristen, she can share her special day with her. Lani calls that thoughtful of him and agrees to think about it. Lani wants to get back to the police station. Lani hugs Abe and says she loves him. Lani tells Eli that she's sorry to be a downer but she thinks a baby shower sounds lovely and she's sure Kristen wouldn't want her to reject it. Lani then agrees to let them do it for her as she exits the Pub. Eli tells Abe that he cannot keep this lie forever. Abe says all that aside, he now has a baby shower to plan.

Tripp walks through the town square, finishing a call with Steve. Tripp thanks him for the talk and for his faith in him. Tripp hangs up and then sees Melinda walking through. Melinda says it's been a long time. Tripp says he just wanted to tell her how sorry he is about Haley. Melinda mentions getting his card and she knows he was important to her. Tripp says he misses Haley every day. Tripp also wanted to thank Melinda for dropping the case against him. Melinda tells him not to thank her for that as she only dropped the charges because she had no choice.

Allie sits at home alone and thinks back to arguing with Tripp until Henry wakes up crying so she goes to check on him.

Abe knows Eli pressured Kristen because he wanted to protect Lani but maybe it's time for him to come clean. Eli argues that he can't now because he can't do anything to jeopardize the health of Lani or their babies. Abe understands his fear but asks what happens if Brady changes his mind about keeping the secret. Eli says he just has to hope that Brady keeps his promise not to tell Lani what really happened. Lani then appears behind them again.

Philip enters the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion where Xander is going over papers. Philip asks if he's playing hooky from work again. Xander responds that he could ask him the same thing. Philip thinks back to Ava warning him to take care of Xander or he will pay the price. Philip then grabs a fireplace poker and imagines knocking out Xander. Xander turns around and asks if he's okay. Philip says that he is. Xander asks what he's doing with the poker.

Ava talks on the phone outside, saying she made it very clear to Philip that he is expected to hold up his end of the bargain so maybe now he has the proper motivation to deal with Xander. Ava says she will keep them posted and hangs up. Ava then looks at a photo of Steve on her phone and thinks back to the last time they were together in bed.

Tripp asks Melinda if she thinks he's guilty and believes that he's a rapist. Melinda admits that Allie tells a compelling and painful story but she can't forget that Tripp tried to help Haley so she'll be grateful to him forever for that. Melinda gives Tripp the benefit of full disclosure and informs him that she just told Allie that she won't prosecute him but also explained that it's her choice to forward the case to London and she's now weighing that decision. Tripp asks if they can still prosecute him in London. Melinda wishes him luck and says it was good to see him as she walks away.

Allie holds Henry at home and looks at Melinda's business card.

Brady gets Rachel back to sleep. Sarah comments on how big she's gotten since she brought her back. Sarah mentions keeping her distance because she didn't think it was right for her to be around her. Brady says he appreciates that. Sarah cries that it's still hard but she understands what Kristen is feeling, being taken away from her little girl. Sarah says she wanted to call or reach out but didn't know if he wanted to hear from her. Brady tells Sarah that she can come by and see Rachel whenever she wants. Brady adds that Kristen doesn't hold any ill will over what she did and he doesn't either. Sarah thanks him but asks what about Xander. Brady admits Xander is not his favorite person but he's not the one he blames for Kristen being in prison.

Eli asks what Lani is doing back. Lani points out that she left her purse. Eli says he could've brought it to her. Lani says she didn't get far befor she realized so she will see him later. Lani then exits again. Lani then pulls her phone out of her purse, revealing that she had recorded Eli and Abe's conversation in the Pub about hoping Brady doesn't tell Lani what really happened..

Eli thanks Abe for keeping the secret. Abe says he just wants what is best for Lani and the babies but it's his call. Eli admits it's not easy keeping a secret like this from a detective like Lani. Abe knows Eli would never choose to lie to Lani but if Brady doesn't say anything, he'll be okay because once the twins are born, Eli and Lani won't have time for anything else.

Lani goes to Brady's room at the Salem Inn and says she needs him to tell her exactly what Eli doesn't want her to know.

Tripp goes to see Allie and says he heard she might still tell her story to the London police so he's here to ask her not to.

Philip tells Xander that he was just thinking about making a fire and asks if he needs his approval for that. Sarah walks in and asks if she's interrupting. Philip says not at all and decides he'll just use one of the other fireplaces in the house so he exits. Sarah asks Xander if she's missing something. Xander states that everything Philip does is suspicious and asks if she talked to Brady. Sarah informs him that Brady said he's not working with Philip and she believes him. Sarah assures that Brady has so moved on and is just focused on being a single parent to Rachel. Xander says that leaves them with the same question of if not Brady, who is Philip in cahoots with.

Ava goes to Steve's and knocks on his door.
