Claire is sitting at home when she gets a call from Charlie, thanking her again for helping him when he got stuck in the Titan office. Claire says she's just glad she could help. Charlie starts small talk then asks if she wants to get that dinner date they talked about. Claire asks if he means tonight. Charlie says he can't tonight as he has to work late but maybe this weekend. Claire says she will have to check her schedule. Charlie says he understands and it doesn't have to be this weekend. Charlie stumbles over his words as Xander enters the office. Charlie hangs up and says he's such an idiot. Xander remarks that there is no argument there.

Kate tells Jake that the rest of the world will think of her as a home wrecking bitch. Jake tells Kate that he's not judging her. Jake leans in for a kiss but Kate questions what he's doing. Jake says he's trying to kiss her and asks if that's a problem.

Gwen tells JJ that she's sorry he had to travel halfway around the world for this trainwreck. JJ says he's glad he did because he was missing in action during a really awful year for his family so it's time he stepped up. Chad comes back and reveals that Abigail is gone. JJ thought she was in the bathroom. Chad guesses she snuck out the emergency exit. JJ asks why and tries to call her but Chad reveals that he found her cell phone on the floor. JJ wonders why she would leave that. Gwen guesses she didn't want to be reached after what happened tonight.

Jennifer thanks Jack for finally telling her the truth and goes to leave. Jack stops her to ask if she can ever forgive him. Jack knows she's angry and that he hurt her which he'll never stop being sorry for. Jack asks Jennifer to please say something so Jennifer instead slaps him. Jack admits he deserved that and he knows what happened between he and Kate was wrong. Jack says he's sick over it and wants to help her understand. Jennifer argues that she will never understand and she doesn't want to hear how lonely he was. Jennifer complains that he slept with another woman and lied about it for an entire year. Jennifer adds that Kate broke up her parents' marriage too when her dad had an affair with Kate too which ripped her family apart. Jennifer shouts that now it's happening all over again.

Kate questions if Jake thinks she jumps into bed with any man feeling lonely. Jake repeats that he doesn't judge her. Jake admits he wants to sleep with her and calls her the most gorgeous woman he's seen in a really long time. Kate brings up the significant age difference between them but Jake doesn't care.

Xander asks Charlie what he just walked in on. Charlie admits it was a personal call but swears he hasn't been slacking off and didn't even take a break today. Charlie reveals he was just talking to a girl so Xander asks to hear more. Charlie explains that he met her when she spilled smoothie all over his new shirt. Charlie says they had an amazing chemistry right away so he wants to get to know her as he thinks she's pretty special. Xander asks who she is. Charlie informs him that he has to know her as they are related and her great grandfather owns the company. Xander realizes he's talking about Claire which Charlie confirms. Charlie says she's great. Xander says sure which Charlie questions the way he said it. Xander then asks if Charlie is aware that Claire spent time in the looney bin.

Theo surprises Claire with a visit. They hug and say it's so good to see each other. Claire asks what he's doing back in Salem. Theo explains that JJ was flying in to surprise his parents so he decided to tag along.

Jake tells Kate that it's obvious by now that he's very attracted to her and he feels there is something between them. Jake recalls Kate walking in to the garage looking sexy. Kate tells him that she's okay with a compliment but says she only came in that day to get her car fixed. Jake brings up how they ended up talking about her love life which Kate called none of his business. Kate admits it's been fun flirting with him and getting to know him a little bit. Jake thinks tonight they took things a step further with Kate opening up to him about everything with Jack. Jake says he likes how tough she is and her confidence but when she opened up to him tonight, he saw a whole different side to her that he didn't know was there and he's very attracted to it. Kate responds that he lays it on thick. Jake tells her that he's serious that he thinks there is something very real between them. Jake says unless he's really misreading signals, he thinks she feels the same.

Jack argues that what happened with Jennifer's father and Kate was totally different because he fell in love with Kate while Jack only slept with her once. Jennifer questions that making it okay. Jack complains that he's just trying to explain that Jennifer is his everything and he only loves her. Jack begs her to hear him out. Jennifer doesn't want to talk about it anymore as she has nothing more to say to him except one thing. Jennifer says happy anniversary and then walks off.

Claire tells Theo that she heard he's been doing great. Theo confirms he's fully recovered. Claire tells him how happy she is to see him. Theo knows she's also sad about Ciara. Claire cries that she misses her so much and Ben is just devastated. Claire says they all are, especially Hope. Theo is just glad they were able to work things out before she died. Claire says she's glad too but the past still hurts too much to even think about. Claire brings up how paranoid and jealous she was.

Charlie asks what Xander means by looney bin. Xander tells him that if he's interested in Claire, he should have all the facts. Charlie asks how bad it was. Xander says for awhile, she was totally nuts. Charlie argues that a lot of people struggle with mental health issues and Claire has to be better or she wouldn't have been released. Xander warns him to proceed with caution. Charlie says he won't judge her for getting help. Xander remarks that he won't have much choice. Xander then questions why he was being such a wimp on the phone if he wants to go out with Claire so badly. Charlie responds that he didn't want to be pushy but Xander instructs him that real men take charge.

Jake asks Kate if he's misreading signals. Kate admits that he's not. They both then remove their jackets and begin undoing their shirts.

JJ finds Jennifer crying outside the Brady Pub and asks if she's okay. Jennifer responds that she's definitely not okay.

Abigail comes across Jack sitting outside the town square and asks where Jennifer is. Jack tells her that he doesn't know as she was there and he tried talking to her but she slapped him and ran off. Abigail tells Jack that she's sorry. Jack asks Abigail if she is admitting then that this whole damn thing is her fault.

Xander tells Charlie that if he wants a woman, he has to be assertive and not meek. Charlie says he was just trying to be considerate. Xander says it's one thing to be compassionate and another to be timid. Charlie argues that he won't push Claire to go out with him when she's going through a really hard time. Xander suggests this is his chance to swoop in and comfort her instead of waiting for her to call. Charlie admits he has a point. Xander tells Charlie to go take Claire out for dinner tonight. Charlie mentions that Claire did say she wasn't doing anything tonight. Xander says she was giving him a hint and tells him to take it.

Claire tells Theo that she was always so insecure about Ciara. Claire says even when she and Theo were together, she never stopped thinking that he really wanted Ciara. Theo notes that wasn't true. Claire says she knows that now but back then, she thought Ciara was better than her in every way. Claire adds that her desperation to beat Ciara at something is the reason she and Theo broke up. Claire hates that she asked Theo to fix the Bella contest and that she went ahead and cheated after he turned her down then their relationship was over. Theo realizes now how harsh it was to break up with her over that. Theo adds that he refused to listen when she came all the way to South Africa to see him. Theo tells Claire that he's sorry he hurt her and he truly regrets it.

Abigail questions if Jack is blaming her when he's the one who actually cheated on Jennifer while she was in a coma. Jack argues that Abigail is the one who told the world at their wedding anniversary. Abigail tells him not to turn this on her because she's not responsible for what he did. Jack argues that Jennifer never needed to know any of this ever. Abigail suggests not documenting his cheating in a letter. Jack says he wrote that letter to tell Kate to keep her distance and keep quiet so she agreed that no one would ever know. Jack adds that he and Kate both understood it was one night and never again as they never wanted to hurt Jennifer so they agreed that it would never come out. Jack says that thanks to Abigail's reckless, thoughtless decision to blurt it out in public, it came out.

JJ asks Jennifer where Jack is since he ran after her when she left the party. Jennifer explains that Jack found her and admitted to everything about he and Kate sleeping together.

After having sex, Jake asks Kate if she's okay. Kate responds that she's much better than okay but this can never happen again.

Charlie questions Xander warning her about Claire but then encouraging him to go after her. Xander says he's just giving him his romantic expertise. Xander adds that Victor adores Claire and really wants her to be happy so if he can make that happen, it could be a very good thing for both of them. Charlie questions why him dating Claire would be good for Xander. Xander explains that he'll make sure Victor knows that he had a hand in helping the romance along which could score him some major points. Xander says regardless, he is giving him solid advice. Xander advises Charlie not to be afraid to make a bold move and to never give up until he gets the woman he wants which he says is how he finally got the heart of Sarah. Charlie asks if he can give him details but Xander says no and tells him to go. Charlie says he would but he has a pile of paper work that he promised Philip he would finish. Xander tells him not to worry about it. Xander then takes flowers off Philip's desk and tells Charlie to give them to Claire, insisting that Philip won't mind. Xander instructs Charlie to go sweep Claire off her feet. Charlie thanks Xander for the advice and insight as he then exits the office.

Theo tells Claire that Abe said Ciara's memorial was really beautiful and that Claire organized the whole thing. Claire mentions singing a song she wrote for Ciara. Theo wishes he heard it so Claire says she'll send him a recording. Theo wants to hear it now so Claire puts headphones in so they can listen from her phone.

Jennifer informs JJ that Jack told her how he felt as she was in the coma and how he started losing hope that she would ever come back to him. JJ questions Jack jumping into bed with Kate. Jennifer explains that Jack got in to the habit of drinking at the Pub after visiting at the hospital and Kate was working there so she would listen to him then one night he went up to her room. JJ tells Jennifer that he's so sorry as he had no idea. JJ blames himself for being high on pills and taking off when his family needed him the most. Jennifer understands he was mourning Haley. JJ says he could've been stronger but Jennifer says he was in real pain. JJ argues that Jack was too so maybe if he had been there to support him, he wouldn't have turned to Kate.

Jake states that they just had mindblowing sex so he questions Kate saying it can never happen again and jokes with her. Kate tells him that she's serious. Jake asks for one good reason why this can't go on. Kate brings up that Chad can't stand him. Jake argues that Kate knew that going in to this and he was the one who brought up that Chad would flip out if he came with her to the party. Kate responds that she cares what Chad thinks.

Gwen tells Chad that she did suggests trying to cancel the party but Abigail refused then she suggested Abigail stay home but she insisted on going. Chad doesn't know why Abigail would've wanted to announce that to everyone. Gwen says she's surprised because Abigail started gulping the champagne as soon as Chad left. Gwen claims she told Abigail not to mix it with her meds but she couldn't stop her. Chad guesses Abigail was sneaking more drinks at the party and notes that she was shaky when she started her speech. Chad wishes he would've got her out of there. Gwen says she should've told him but felt it wasn't her place. Gwen says she's sorry and she did everything she could. Chad tells her that he appreciates it.

Abigail questions Jack saying she was thoughtless and reckless. Abigail says she couldn't stand there and listen to everyone praise Jack as a loyal and loving husband when she knew it was a total lie. Jack argues that he's completely devoted to Jennifer and he made one mistake. Jack says he knows how Abigail feels finding the letter but argues that she should've come to him so he could've convinced her not to hurt Jennifer. Abigail argues that Jennifer was the one person who deserved to know. Jack says that now Jennifer is destroyed and maybe their marriage is too. Jack blames Abigail for digging up the truth and bringing it to light except this isn't a breaking news story. Jack hopes Abigail is proud of herself because he sure as hell is not.

Jennifer tells JJ that none of this is his fault since it was Jack's choice to sleep with Kate. JJ still can't believe it actually happened. JJ says that Jack has done awful things like marrying Eve and demonizing Haley but he had amnesia then. JJ thought Jack was his old self again now but questions how he explains this. Jennifer says that Jack was depressed as the more time went on and he was afraid she wouldn't wake up. JJ says that's true but doesn't excuse what he did.

Abigail tells Jack that she's sorry as she didn't mean for it to come out the way it did at the party in front of everyone. Jack questions why she didn't know that this needed to stay private. Abigail explains that when she read the letter, she was shocked and didn't know what to do. She couldn't bail on the party but couldn't get through it either so she drank a glass of champagne. Abigail says she wanted to disappear but she had to give a toast so she kept drinking and when Jennifer asked what the letter said, she couldn't tell her when she saw the look on her face. Jack asks if Abigail thought the party would just continue like nothing happened and questions why she was mixing alcohol with her medication. Abigail responds that Jack's not supposed to sleep with women who aren't his wife either. Jack tells Abigail that he loves her but says she better go home because he can't stand to look at her. Abigail then walks away.

Kate tells Jake that she and Chad have been through rocky times recently because of things she did but he forgave her when she didn't deserve it so she doesn't want to risk alienating him again. Jake asks what she did that Chad had to forgive her for but Kate sees no point in getting into that. Kate tells Jake that right now they are in a really good place and established trust in their relationship so she doesn't want to jeopardize that. Jake tells her not to then. Jake respects if she doesn't want Chad to find out about them but says it doesn't mean they have to stop if they keep it their little secret.

Xander goes through the paper work at the office and finds something odd, wondering why Philip would transfer those funds.

Theo and Claire finish listening to Claire's song for Ciara. Theo tells her it was beautiful and praises her. Theo says Ciara would've loved it. Claire calls it incredible that Theo came to see her as if he felt that she needed him. Theo and Claire then kiss as Charlie walks in and is shocked to see them kissing.

JJ offers to take Jennifer home but she doesn't want to be under the same roof as Kate or Jack. JJ invites her to stay with him at the Salem Inn so they walk off together.

Jack returns to Julie's Place and looks around at the Anniversary party decorations. Jack then sits down on the floor in frustration.

At the DiMera Mansion, Gwen tells the portrait of Stefano that she told him she'd pull it off. Gwen declares that Jack and Jennifer's marriage has been blown up and it's all Abigail's fault. Gwen says she couldn't have planned it any better. Abigail then walks into the room. Gwen says they were so worried about her and that Chad went looking for her. Abigail says she just had to get out and didn't want to talk to anybody so she went out the emergency exit and ran in to Jack. Gwen asks what he had to say for himself. Abigail says that Jack ripped her to shreds and basically blames her for everything. Gwen acts surprised and says it's not Abigail's fault. Abigail explains that Jack thinks it is and that she ruined the party and their marriage so he probably hates her.

Kate asks Jake if he wants them to have a secret affair behind Chad's back. Jake asks why not and jokes that it will be hotter to sneak around and says what Chad doesn't know won't hurt him. Chad then knocks on the door, asking if Kate is inside.
