Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 10/28/20

Steve finishes a call at the hospital as Roman joins him. Roman goes over Steve calling him and telling him that Kayla has disappeared after a prison break. Roman questions what the hell is going on. Steve explains that he found Kayla's phone and bag in her office so he figured she was still in the building but he checked with everyone and searched the place and she's not here. Roman asks if he thinks Orpheus has her. Steve responds that he doesn't know because Kayla said she wasn't too worried about him since he didn't mess with her last time he was in Salem. Steve adds that Kayla said she was having a security guard escort her to her car and regrets not coming himself.

Dr. Rolf brings Kayla to a lab and talks about when he instilled Stefano's essence and entire being onto a microchip. Kayla questions what she is doing here. Dr. Rolf tells her that he and Stefano had several microchips in the works to sustain his life. Rolf says that the Phoenix always rises and he will again with the help of what is contained inside here.

Kate finds Clyde with Henry outside the town square. Kate says she heard he was on the loose and questions how the hell he got out of prison. Clyde responds that he caught a lucky break. Kate questions what he's hiding and then realizes he has a baby.

Orpheus plays cards with John. John says he can't get his head in the game when his great grandson has been kidnapped. Orpheus assures that Henry will be fine and whatever happens to him depends on Marlena coming through for him. Orpheus adds that Marlena should have been here by now. John tells him to relax as she is only doing as he asked. Orpheus warns that she better be and better not have alerted the authorities if they want to see Henry again. Marlena then knocks on the door. Orpheus stops John from answering it and orders him to step back. Orpheus then answers the door. Orpheus orders Marlena and John to stay apart so they don't gang up on him. Orpheus then brings his son Christian into the room and tells him that he missed him. Orpheus tells him that he looks good but it couldn't have been easy to be locked up in Bayview. Christian calls it a lot better than prison. Orpheus knew he wasn't cut out for prison and he's glad they found him in time. Christian says his breakdown wasn't just about being in prison but about feeling guilty over what he did to Jordan, Adrienne, and that baby. Orpheus tells him that wasn't his responsibility. Christian questions what's going on and why he made Marlena bring him here when he was getting better at Bayview. Marlena thinks back to her last conversation with Christian where he told her that he was done with his dad's schemes and to leave him alone because he was trying to get better and he wouldn't risk something terrible happening to someone again so he wouldn't leave. Christian had questioned why Marlena wanted this so she explained she had no choice because Orpheus kidnapped her great-grandson so Marlena convinced Christian that they were all relying on him to do the right thing. Marlena then tells Orpheus that it's true and that Dr. Morris said Christian was making great progress so he should let him go back to finish his work there. Orpheus warns Marlena to keep her mouth shut. Orpheus questions Christian feeling guilty about killing Jordan. Orpheus then asks if he feels guilty about turning him into the police and betraying him. Christian says he did what he thought was right at the time. Orpheus says he doesn't hold it against him as he loves his son and that will never change. Orpheus talks about helping Christian try to get his son back from Rafe. Christian points out that Adrienne is dead because of it. Orpheus remarks that it's all over and behind them so they are going to start fresh. Orpheus declares that he got Christian out of Bayview so he can be with his son and he's going to make that happen so they can be together as a family to make up for lost time. Orpheus asks Christian if he wants that to happen, demanding an answer from him.

Kate questions Clyde kidnapping a baby. Clyde tells her to turn around and forget she ever saw him. Kate says she can't because there's an innocent baby involved. Kate starts to call the police when she realizes that it's her great-grandson Henry that he kidnapped.

Dr. Rolf reveals to Kayla a pot with a part of Stefano inside of it. Kayla questions how he plans to revive Stefano. Dr. Rolf announces his plan is to clone an entirely new Stefano.

Steve makes a call, finding out that none of the security guards escorted Kayla to her car. Steve informs them that she is missing and possibly kidnapped so he wants all security footage for the past 6 hours. Steve hangs up and tells Roman that hopefully that footage will give them some answers but he has a bad feeling. Steve questions why he didn't just come pick her up. Roman goes over the prison break and says if they are smart, they will stay out of Salem and would be long gone by now. Steve would like to believe that but says Orpheus and Clyde have scores to settle and he won't underestimate Dr. Rolf after he planted that microchip in his brain.

Kayla questions Dr. Rolf wanting to clone Stefano. Dr. Rolf notes that she sounds skeptical. Kayla say she wouldn't doubt what is possible but she's sad for him. Kayla calls him a genius but he clings to this idea that he needs Stefano. Dr. Rolf tells her that her attempt to psychoanalyze him won't work. Kayla claims she's just trying to open his eyes to see that his gifts could change the world like climate change or vaccines to save lives. Dr. Rolf responds that he has no interest in that, he has a goal so they must get to it. Dr. Rolf talks about the science of cloning coming a long way. Kayla calls it extremely complicated. Dr. Rolf assures that he's spent years on how to extend Stefano's life. Kayla doubts it's possible but says that even if a clone has Stefano's DNA, it would be a baby so it would be decades before he's the man that he remembers. Dr. Rolf says that's why he used the microchip on Steve before. Rolf adds that he has a backup plan and this lab has all the equipment to see it through. Rolf declares that Kayla will be helping him.

Kate tells Clyde to give her the baby. Clyde says they wouldn't want Henry to get hurt. Kate calls him a piece of garbage and says the baby is precious to her whole family. Clyde warns that if she doesn't want anything to happen to the child, she will do as he says and throw her phone in the bushes. Kate then throws her phone in the bushes and asks why Clyde took this innocent baby. Clyde responds that he has his reasons. Kate asks if it's money and offers to pay the ransom. Clyde says that's not the reason. Clyde brings up Ben being a mess because of Ciara's death. Clyde explains that he was on his way to see Ben and thought Henry could cheer him up which Kate questions. Clyde says it's not all about Ben but leverage and he won't tell her about that. Kate argues that Clyde doesn't want to use the baby as a pawn and asks him to give him to her. Clyde warns that if Kate comes closer, she will regret it.

Orpheus questions why the hell Christian isn't saying anything and if he doesn't want to be with his family or miss his son. Christian says he does. Orpheus tells him that he will be reunite with his son just like they were. Orpheus insists that he needs to trust him. Christian says he wants to but it scares him that Orpheus kidnapped Marlena's great grandson. Orpheus argues that he had to do that to get him out of Bayview and it better not have been for nothing or else Marlena will never see that baby again. Christian asks if he's sure that he can keep he and David safe. Orpheus promises that he can but the town is full of cops looking for him so they need to move now. Christian asks when he will see his son David. Orpheus says they will be on their way as soon as he deals with John and Marlena.

Steve and Roman go over the hospital security footage and find Kayla going to the elevator with Dr. Rolf.

Kayla refuses to help Dr. Rolf clone Stefano DiMera. Kayla declares that Stefano is dead and needs to stay dead so he can't hurt anyone that she loves again. Dr. Rolf understands she's not a fan of the man but she should be grateful for the opportunity to participate in this groundbreaking experiment. Kayla calls it sickening how he wants to prolong Stefano's life. Kayla refuses to help him and says she's a medical doctor, not a mad scientist like him.

John tells Orpheus that it's always been between them so he can do whatever he wants with him if he just lets Marlena go. Marlena says no and argues that they had a deal that she brings him Christian and he returns Henry. Orpheus decides that's not going to happen. John tells Orpheus that if he's going on the run, he will need a substantial amount of money so he can wire him whatever he wants right now if he just lets them go to pick Henry up. They then hear police sirens outside.

Kate pleads with Clyde not to hurt Henry and says he can hurt her if he needs to hurt someone. Clyde admits he's grown fond of Henry and would hate for anything to happen to him but he could get caught in the crossfire. Kate points out that Clyde said he wanted Henry for leverage so she offers herself as a hostage instead of Henry. Clyde says he didn't see that coming. Clyde adds that he hoped Henry could cheer Ben up and doesn't think Kate would have the same effect. Kate points out that Ben's not the only one with needs and Clyde's been in prison for a long time with a lack of satisfaction. Kate remarks that they were pretty good together and could be again. Kate tells Clyde that she could make him happy. Clyde calls her a sexy woman but also a lot of trouble. Kate says he can take the baby back to Allie and then take her where ever he wants to. Clyde responds that he's not interested because Henry is a lot more valuable and a lot less hassle. Kate asks if he's sure about that as Henry starts to cry.

Steve notes on the footage that Dr. Rolf has his hand in his jacket pocket so he must have a gun to force Kayla to go with him. Roman wonders why Rolf would kidnap Kayla. Steve says he doesn't know but they have to get her away from that psycho. Steve checks his phone and has no missed calls or texts. Steve decides to call Chad because he thinks it has something to do with the microchip and the cops gave that chip to Chad so they have to make sure Dr. Rolf doesn't already have it.

Dr. Rolf brings up Kayla removing the chip from Steve's brain. Kayla says he refused to so she had no choice. Dr. Rolf points out that surgery was a success so that's how he knows she is the right person to help him with this task. Kayla argues that she's a medical doctor, who took an oath to preserve life. Rolf says that's his intent and they can generate a cloned embryo quickly. Kayla refuses to help him with his experiment. Kayla brings up telling Steve that she was on her way home so she's sure he's wondering where she is. Dr. Rolf says he can blame the blackout but Kayla warns that it's a matter of time before Steve tracks him down and there will be hell to pay.

Orpheus warns Marlena that she better not have told the cops where they are. Marlena says she would never take that risk. Christian confirms she brought him straight here and didn't make any calls. Orpheus says they have to get going while they can. Marlena asks about the baby. Orpheus says Henry is his insurance policy so he will let them know where Henry is, once he and Christian are in the wind. Orpheus ordesr John to tie Marlena to the chair and then he will tie John up. Marlena tells John to do it so he ties her to the chair. Christian then grabs a can off the shelf and knocks out Orpheus from behind, shocking John and Marlena. Marlena thought Christian was going to leave with his father. Christian says he just said that to get him out of there before he hurt them. Marlena thanks him. Christian says as much as he misses his son, he couldn't go on the run. Christian adds that he's getting better but he's not ready to raise a child, especially with his father around. Marlena tells him that he did the right thing for himself and David. Christian just wants his son to have a good life. John appreciates his concern for them all but Orpheus is now knocked out cold and they don't know where Henry is.

Clyde tries to get Henry to stop crying and asks Kate how to get him to stop. Kate says to give him to her but Clyde says she will run off with him and refuses. Clyde tries singing to Henry but it doesn't work. Kate says she can't take this anymore and offers to stop Henry from crying. Clyde warns her not to run off as she knows what he's capable of if he is crossed. Clyde then hands Henry over to Kate.

Steve finishes his call with Chad, who confirms that Dr. Rolf showed up at the DiMera Mansion looking for the microchip and pulled a gun on Chad but Chad and Tony had already destroyed the microchip. Steve tells Roman that Dr. Rolf planned to kill Chad but Chad got the gun, tied him to a chair and called the cops but Rolf somehow escaped. Roman says it's good that the microchip doesn't exist so Rolf can't put it back in Steve. Steve wonders why the hell he took Kayla then.

Kayla argues that Dr. Rolf is already a fugitive so he's already in trouble and now he's made it worse by kidnapping her. Kayla tells him that he needs to give up this insane plan and turn himself in. Dr. Rolf refuses and argues that he gave Stefano his word that he would help him rise again. Kayla refuses to help. Rolf says he will accomplish it on his own then but he can't let her go. Rolf prepares a syringe which he says is for tying up loose ends..

Steve has no doubt that Dr. Rolf is angry that Kayla took the microchip out of him but they have to find her. Roman questions where the footage is from the hospital garage. Steve bets Dr. Rolf had Kayla drive him in her car so he goes to the garage to check. Roman decides to call the police to fill them in.

Dr. Rolf tells Kayla that he has an experiment to run. Kayla claims she wants to understand what it is. Rolf says she's made it clear that she has no interest in his work. Kayla says that's not true and that she sympathizes with him. Kayla talks about when Steve was gone and she thought he had given up, she was profoundly lonely. Kayla thinks Dr. Rolf is lonely and misses his old friend which he confirms. Kayla knows he doesn't want to go back to prison and says he doesn't have to if he runs now while he has the chance. Dr. Rolf questions her change of heart. Kayla says she gets now that he's in mourning and she's been there. Kayla relates to when Steve was gone. Dr. Rolf points out that she got him back. Kayla talks about learning she could emerge from the dark and live again. Kayla encourages that Dr. Rolf can go out there and find someone to share his life with other than Stefano. Dr. Rolf argues that she doesn't understand and no one compares to Stefano, who is everything to him. Kayla tells him to calm down but Dr. Rolf demands an answer as to if she will help him clone Stefano or not.

Marlena tells Christian that Orpheus will be fine. Christian says he should've realized before he hit him that he wouldn't be able to tell where Henry is but hopefully he will when he comes to. John finishes a call, letting the cops know that Orpheus is not a threat anymore so they are on their way with an ambulance. John adds that there is no word on Henry but the cops are searching everywhere. Marlena is afraid that Orpheus stashed him somewhere with no idea how to find him.

Kate wonders about Henry having an ear infection and realizes he needs a diaper change. Clyde talks about not having a diaper bag as he wasn't going to risk getting caught. Kate says he's lucky that she has a pacifier in her purse if she can get it. Clyde tells her to do whatever to get him to stop crying. Kate then reaches into her purse and pulls a gun on Clyde.

Christian asks if he can use Orpheus' phone to call his sister Zoey. John agrees to let him as he ties Orpheus to a chair. John hugs Marlena and says the police should be here soon so when they show up, he will join the search for Henry. Marlena says she would go with him but thinks she should take Christian back to Bayview but when they turn around, Christian is gone.

Roman finishes a call with the police about Dr. Rolf kidnapping Kayla as Steve comes back and confirms that Kayla's car is gone and the garage attendant saw her drive out but couldn't say which direction she went. Roman decides he will go look at all footage from the city. Steve worries that she could be anywhere. Roman assures they will find her. Steve insists they have to find her after what Dr. Rolf did to him.

Kayla says she has no choice but to help Dr. Rolf and tells him to put the syringe away which he does. Kayla asks how this cloning works. Dr. Rolf explains that they take one of Stefano's cells which contains his DNA and transfer it to an egg with it's nucleus removed then they allow it to develop into an early embryo. Kayla asks where it develops. Dr. Rolf says they will implant it into a surrogate. Kayla questions where he will find a woman who will carry Stefano's clone. Dr. Rolf then reveals he plans for Kayla to carry Stefano's clone.

Clyde questions Kate carrying a gun in her purse and what else she has in there. Clyde tells Kate to lighten up and brings up that they were great together so they can settle this to satisfy both of them. Clyde tells her to put the gun down. Clyde suggests she keep the baby, he walks away, and they pretend this never happened. Kate orders him not to move. Clyde argues that he was never going to hurt Henry. Clyde says Kate acting tough is over as they both know she won't. Kate then pulls the trigger and shoots Clyde.
