Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 9/30/20

Belle brings Kristen back to her room at the Salem Inn. Kristen hugs her and thanks her, calling it a miracle that she was able to convince the judge to grant her bail. Belle clarifies that she did it for Brady, not Kristen. Kristen says she knows that but they are both mothers and Belle gave her a chance to be with her daughter again so she will always be grateful. Brady then enters the room with Rachel. Kristen is overjoyed to be reunited with her daughter.

Jan talks about how she and Claire bonded over how they are judged by people who only see their past mistakes. Jan notes that Claire understands change is possible but her parents don't. Jan says that her parents will say that she went to the station to stalk Shawn but she swears she went to make sure justice is served. Claire asks what Jan did. Jan swears she was the victim of this crime.

Shawn brings Philip to the police station. Philip complains that this is a joke. Shawn threatens to charge him with resisting arrest. Philip remarks that Shawn has lost his mind. Shawn says he's just doing his job but Philip says it's personal and he won't let him get away with it.

Hope is at a hotel, leaving a message for Shawn that she can feel she is closing in on Vincent and finding out what happened to Ciara. Hope says she'll talk to him soon and hangs up. Hope pulls out her gun and kicks a door open, but finds Ben inside.

Brady tells Kristen that Abe was watching Rachel and seemed sad to see her go. Kristen can't believe this is happening and thanks Belle again. Belle says she has to go. Brady steps out with Belle and thanks her as he knows she didn't want to do this but she fought for Kristen and Rachel. Brady tells Belle that he owes her big time. Belle asks him to stay out of trouble until her court date which he promises to do. Belle exits and Brady heads back inside.

Philip questions why he was arrested, reminding Shawn how Jan kidnapped him and tried to kill them all. Philip asks why Shawn is on Jan's side. Shawn says the mention of Jan's name makes him sick and he wants her in prison but he's not stupid enough to lay hands on her. Philip complains that he was just trying to protect Shawn's wife and daughter. Shawn warns him to leave that to him.

Claire questions Jan being the victim of a crime. Jan tells her that her life was threatened and she was assaulted. Claire apologizes for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Jan says she's used to it but Claire says she should know better. Claire asks her what happened. Jan says it doesn't matter but the point is, someone suggested she finally stand up for her rights so that's exactly what she's going to do. Jan declares she's gone too long letting other people push her around.

Xander and Sarah go to their bedroom. Xander says he didn't want to have the conversation downstairs near Victor and Maggie. Sarah guesses Xander had something to do with Jan having Philip arrested.

Jan talks to Claire about people thinking they can take advantage of her because no one will take her side since they think she's crazy. Claire says she knows what that's like. Jan is glad she finally found someone who can relate but it's too bad they can't be friends. Jan gets why Claire's parents are suspicious of her with their history. Claire tells her that she doesn't judge people. Jan bets Claire's parents would think their conversation is part of some nefarious plan. Belle then arrives and questions what Jan is doing with her daughter.

Hope thought Ben was still in the hospital. Ben informs her that he just got released and Claire told him that Hope went after Vincent so he came looking for her. Ben adds that Claire also said Hope thinks Ciara might still be alive. Hope admits that she does think so.

Philip questions how Shawn was supposed to protect his wife and daughter when he wasn't there. Philip asks if he's supposed to ignore that Jan Spears is a threat to all of them. Shawn tells him to shut up so he can finish his arrest report and go back to his family.

Belle reminds Jan that she is to stay away from her daughter. Jan says she can explain. Belle brings up Philip's warning. Jan warns Belle about what she says next if she's about to threaten her like Philip did or they might share a cell together. Jan informs them that she reported Philip for assault because he put his hands all over her. Claire is surprised and asks if Philip hurt her while Belle laughs it off, telling Claire not to buy into this. Jan informs Belle that Shawn went to question Philip about what he did.

Sarah asks Xander if the business call he took while she was in the shower was Jan which Xander confirms. Sarah gets mad that Xander lied to her and argues that Xander encouraged Jan to have Philip arrested only because he wants to run Titan by himself. Xander tells Sarah that he only suggested Jan stick up for herself since Philip deserves to face the consequences of his action for once. Xander says he just offered Jan the support she needed to do the right thing. Sarah asks what the right thing is. Xander says that's up to the criminal justice system now so they will just have to step aside and let it run it's course.

Kristen puts Rachel down for a nap. Kristen then tells Brady that they need to pack up their things and leave Salem tonight. Brady questions if Kristen is talking about skipping bail which she confirms.

Hope talks to Ben about the thirty minutes between seeing Ciara in the car and the explosion. Hope says she tracked Vincent to this town as his last stop on a bus. Hope says a man matching his description used a stolen car so if he uses it again they can catch him. Hope brings up that they haven't talked since that night. Hope asks Ben if he remembers anything that could indicate whether Ciara was or wasn't in the car. Ben thinks back to the night the car exploded but tells Hope that he only saw smoke and flames. Ben adds that he never saw Ciara's body or heard her voice. Hope decides that means there is still hope.

Kristen tells Brady that she could have the DiMera jet ready to go in less than an hour and they could be in Europe. Brady tells her to stop. Kristen says she won't waste her chance to be out of prison. Brady argues that they could beat the charges. Kristen says Melinda wants her in prison and she can't risk losing Rachel again. Brady questions her running. Kristen says she did it before and they would've never caught her if she didn't come back. Kristen says she's going to take Rachel and get as far away as possible but Brady says he can't let her do that.

Belle questions Jan calling the police on Philip. Jan argues that he threatened her life. Jan says she's not looking for him to be locked away but she wants to feel safe so hopefully a good lawyer can get him out of this mess. Belle declares that she is so done with Jan. Belle tkes Claire and walks away.

Sarah tells Xander that his story doesn't hold up. Xander admits he may have suggested to Jan that she file a complaint against Philip. Xander doesn't deny that he wants him out of the company. Sarah mocks the way he did it. Xander brings up Sarah encouraging him to get everything he worked for. Sarah says not like this as Philip is family and has had a tough life. Sarah suggests trying to put their differences aside and get along. Sarah reminds Xander that Philip is his cousin. Xander complains that Philip doesn't treat him with respect. Sarah suggests taking the high road and being mature. Sarah complains that Xander went back on his word to her. Xander argues that he doesn't need a lecture on how to live his life. Sarah feels he does or else he'll just demean Philip so he can run Titan. Sarah declares this conversation is over so she doesn't say something she might regret. Xander asks if she wants Philip to run Titan since he disappointed her so much. Sarah says that's crazy. Xander thought Sarah would be supportive of him but instead she's going on about how he's disrespecting Philip. Xander questions why Sarah is being so protective of Philip.

Philip asks Shawn what this is really about. Shawn repeats that he put his hands on Jan and threatened her life. Philip asks if this isn't about Shawn's jealousy and how he came home to find Belle in his arms the other night. Shawn says he's getting this over with then he will process him and then move on. Philip questions him going through with arresting him. Shawn argues that he confessed to assaulting Jan and she filed a formal complaint. Shawn adds that finding Belle in his arms only upset him because he's a devious slime who wants to get in between them but their relationship is solid and they've never loved each other more. Shawn declares that he's 100% certain that Belle doesn't want anything to do with Philip. Belle and Claire then arrive at the station. Belle announces she heard what happened to Philip so she's here to represent him.

Sarah argues that she's not protecting Philip, she's protecting Xander. Xander argues that he hardly needs protection from Jan Spears. Sarah says it's not about Jan or even Philip but about Xander falling into bad habits that got him in trouble before. Sarah would rather watch Xander fail miserably in business than know that he got there by being underhanded and amoral. Xander remarks that now he knows where she stands. Sarah argues that this is where she's always stood since they got together. Sarah needs him to care about being a decent person and not about being like Victor, who is corrupt, greedy, and power hungry. Xander tells her that she's worrying needlessly as he would never do anything to jeopardize what they have but Sarah is not so sure about that. Sarah warns Xander that if he goes back to his old ways of lying and cheating then she will not put up with it ever again and it will be over between them.

Brady tells Kristen that she can't leave or else she can never come back as she'll be a fugitive again. Kristen feels it's better than being locked away in a cage away from Rachel and she promised to never leave her again. Brady worries that all hell will break loose if she goes. Kristen asks if he's worried about Belle. Brady says he's worried about Kristen and Rachel.

Belle announces that she will be doing all the talking for Philip from now on. Shawn comments that word travels fast since he just brought him in. Belle informs him that Jan told them that she reported Philip. Shawn questions her seeing Jan. Belle reveals that Jan was trying to get her hooks in their daughter again. Claire argues that they were just talking. Belle suggests Shawn try to lecture some sense into Claire while she goes to confer with her client. Shawn tells her that Philip is all hers so Belle and Philip go into the interrogation room. Claire tells Shawn that she doesn't need a lecture but he says she does and sits her down. Shawn says they've been over this but Claire is not understanding that Jan is a sick woman and she needs to stay the hell away from her.

Hope and Ben eat together in the hotel room. Ben comments on Hope eating pizza like Ciara. Ben talks about various things Ciara got from Hope and says they are both fearless. Hope comments that she got that from her dad. Ben talks about how hard Hope fights for the people she loves just like Ciara fought for him. Ben declares that's why, just like Hope, he will never give up on Ciara.

Brady tells Kristen that life on the run is horrible so he doesn't want that life for her or Rachel. Brady wants to raise their daughter without having to constantly look over their shoulder and not have to worry about losing Kristen again. Brady asks Kristen to stay and fight this together.

Xander tells Sarah that she's the most important thing in his life and he hates to disappoint her in any way. Sarah asks why he doesn't think before he behaves in ways that makes her question if he's trying to be better. Sarah brings up that he promised to never deceive her again and that he would try to lead a good, honorable life. Xander says he's ambitious and sometimes that makes him a bit ruthless but his main ambition in life is making Sarah happy. Sarah asks what he would say if she told him that he had to give up his CEO position to Philip and devote his day to her. Sarah asks if he would do that. Xander responds that he would in a heartbeat. Xander tells Sarah that she is the only thing in the world that he won't give up. Xander apologizes if his recent behavior has made her think less of him. Xander says he loves her so much so all he can do is beg for forgiveness and promise to do better in the future because his priority is making her happy. Sarah says she wants to make him happy too because she's so hopelessly in love with him. Sarah says she's in love with a man who wants to be better for her so she won't let him go without a fight as they then kiss.

Claire argues that Shawn is confused since Jan is the victim here. Shawn calls Jan a pathological liar and questions why she would believe anything she says. Claire argues that Philip threatened her and put his hands on her. Claire asks why Shawn arrested him if he didn't believe her.

Philip can't believe Shawn actually arrested him. Belle says he was just doing his job but Philip insists it's about Shawn still hating him.

Claire asks if Shawn is saying that Jan asked to be assaulted which she calls victim blaming. Shawn argues that Claire doesn't understand how Jan can manipulate and change facts. Shawn tells Claire that she is better now while Jan is not. Shawn calls Jan vicious and dangerous so Claire is not safe around her. Claire doesn't want to argue about it anymore. Shawn asks if she understands then. Claire says she has more important things to worry about. Shawn knows she has her hands full with Ciara's memorial. Claire says that is unless Hope and Ben bring her home to them.

Ben complains about sitting around waiting. Hope then gets a call and says Vincent just used a stolen credit card so she knows exactly where he is and they hurry out of the hotel.

Brady tells Kristen that he knows the idea of facing the charges is scary but he believes it's their only shot at a normal life and to be a family. Brady adds that if she runs, he's going with her because he can't handle another goodbye. Kristen kisses him and says he's done so much for her. Brady says he loves her and their daughter so he's not going to be without them ever again but the call is up to her. Brady asks what she wants to do.

Xander tells Sarah that he never wants to be any other man than the one she loves which Sarah is glad to hear. Xander decides he will make this right. Xander pulls out his phone and says Philip is Victor's son so it's time to do the right thing since he is family. Xander calls Jan Spears. Jan wonders what he wants and ignores the call, saying she will make sure Philip gets what is coming to him.

Belle tells Philip that how Shawn feels about him is completely irrelevant. Philip tells her to tell him that. Belle argues that they need to stick together because Jan will do whatever it takes to divide and conquer. Philip points out that it seems to be working. Belle says that Jan is still a threat to them and is trying to get to them through Claire.

Claire sits alone at Hope's going over pictures for Ciara's memorial when Jan shows up and startles her. Claire asks what she's doing here. Jan responds that she has something for her and reaches into her purse.

Shawn calls Hope back and leaves a message, apologizing for missing her call. Shawn wants to be sure she's being careful in her search for Ciara.

Hope and Ben find Vincent outside. Hope pulls her gun while Ben grabs Vincent from behind. Vincent demands Ben let him go but Ben informs him that he no longer has control over his mind. Hope asks Vincent where her daughter is and if she's alive.

Kristen tells Brady that she's not one to run from a fight and the fact that they are together after all that happened is a miracle. Kristen guesses she will have to have faith that it will all work out in the end. Brady asks if that means she will stay. Kristen confirms they are staying as she and Brady kiss.

Xander tells Sarah that he left a message for Jan, strongly suggesting she drop the charges against Philip. Sarah tells him he did the right thing. Xander says he'd do anything for her. Sarah wants him to want to be a better person, not just for her. Xander admits he likes himself better when he's not being a total snake. Xander jokes that he's enjoying all the benefits of being a stand up guy. Sarah asks if this means Xander will steer clear of Jan. Xander assures their business is done. Sarah tells Xander that he doesn't have to fight dirty to beat Philip as Victor will see he's the right person for the job. Sarah is confident that he will end up on top as they kiss in to bed.

Belle tells Philip that she will go see him about getting his bail set. Philip knows this isn't easy for her and is making things messy for her and Shawn. Belle assures it will be fine as she exits the room. Shawn asks if she's ready to go to dinner. Belle informs him that she has to go to the courthouse to arrange Philip's release so he doesn't have to spend the night in jail. Belle suggests Shawn keep their dinner reservation and she will join him for dessert. Shawn decides he'll just stop by a drive thru and walks out of the station.

Jan hopes Claire doesn't mind as the door was unlocked. Jan claims she tried knocking. Claire says she didn't hear her. Jan warns Claire to be more careful as anyone could just come in. Jan gives Claire a photo of Ciara back that she dropped in the town square. Claire thanks her and Jan then exits.

Hope asks Vincent if Ciara was in the car when it exploded. Ben asks if he let her go or if he locked her up somewhere. Hope asks if Ciara is alive. Vincent refuses to answer questions without an attorney. Hope then handcuffs Vincent. Ben tells him that they are going to get answers out of him one way or another as they escort him away.
