Shawn finishes a phone call as he enters the police commissioner's office where he is surprised to find Victor seated at the desk inside. Shawn asks what he's doing here. Victor says he could ask him the same thing as he thought Shawn lived in Hong Kong. Shawn informs him that he's back for now and worked with the Salem Police Department. Victor says he's sure that will be helpful to Hope and asks if she's around because he needs to talk to her. Shawn then informs Victor that Hope is out trying to track down Vincent. Victor hopes she finds him and puts him away for a long time or kills him like he deserves after murdering Ciara. Shawn then reveals to Victor that Hope thinks there is a chance that Ciara might be alive.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Maggie sits with Philip in the living room. Maggie talks about there being a lot of sadness lately so she wants to make tonight's dinner special as Philip's official welcome home party. Philip thanks her and asks who else made the guest list. Maggie notes that it's very exclusive, revealing it will be her, Victor, Philip, Sarah, and Xander. Maggie brings up Philip and Xander being co-CEOs of Titan and calls it a very important partnership. Maggie asks if it's off to a good start. Philip thinks back to arguing with Xander over the office then tells Maggie that their partnership is more like a match made in Hell.

Sarah tells Xander that Maggie put a ton in to this dinner so as much as she'd like to stay in bed with him, they need to shower and get downstairs. Xander suggests they shower together and kisses her but he gets a call. Xander answers and it's Jan Spears, who says she thinks they need to talk.

Allie asks Nicole if she should know who Tripp Dalton is. Nicole informs her that he is Steve Johnson's son. Allie is surprised to learn that Tripp's father is her uncle Steve. Nicole explains that Steve is Allie's great-uncle by marriage which means he's not a blood relative. Nicole says that's a good thing since Steve's son Tripp is Henry's father.

Steve informs Tripp that the girl he ran in to is Allie Horton, who is John's granddaughter and she was living in London last year until she came back to Salem to have her baby which shocks Tripp.

Sarah asks Xander who is on the phone. Xander thinks back to Sarah's reaction to seeing him with Jan. Xander claims it's a work call and tells Sarah to go ahead to the shower so she exits. Xander asks Jan why she is calling him. Jan says it's about their conversation in the town square the other day. Jan informs Xander that she has come to believe he's right that she should call the police about Philip threatening to kill her. Xander asks what changed her mind. Jan responds that she's come to realize that if she plays her cards right, she could end up with Shawn.

Shawn tells Victor about Vincent blowing up the car and running but there was about a half hour from when they saw Ciara to seeing the car explode so Hope thinks maybe in that window of time, Ciara may have been able to escape. Victor asks what Shawn thinks. Shawn says he would love more than anything for Hope to be right about this. Shawn talks about Hope losing one child already so he can understand why she wouldn't want to believe she's lost another but he also hates seeing her get her hopes up. Shawn adds that Hope told him that she would only ever be at peace if she knew exactly what happened to Ciara. Shawn states that only Vincent can confirm that Ciara is dead so she's determined to find him and she's going to.

Allie calls it impossible for Steve's son to be the guy she met in London, arguing that he never mentioned that. Allie says it would be too big of a coincidence. Nicole decides there's only one way to find out so she goes to her computer and searches Tripp Dalton. Allie confirms that it's him.

Tripp asks Steve about Allie having a baby. Steve confirms she came back to town pregnant and had the baby over the summer. Tripp says he had no idea. Steve questions Tripp meeting Allie in London around Christmas time last year which he confirms. Steve points out that Allie had her baby in August a month early so doing the math, he has to ask if Tripp could be that baby's father.

Maggie is sorry to hear Philip and Xander are not getting along since Victor had high hopes that his co-CEO idea would work. Maggie asks what the problem is. Philip responds that Xander is a total idiot and out of his league. Maggie asks if he's sure about that because she's heard that Xander has been doing quite well running Titan on his own as Victor mentioned profits exceeding expectations. Philip calls it a fluke and remarks that Xander's future is in the backyard, not the board room. Maggie knows Philip thinks the job should be his alone but he's been gone for five years so she thinks it was a bit presumptuous of him to walk in and give Victor an ultimatum. Philip responds that he's claiming his birth right. Maggie feels he was demanding it. Philip says he's just a tough negotiator like a CEO should be. Maggie points out that Titan already had a CEO in Xander. Maggie knows Victor loves Philip and wants him in his life so he gave him a chance. Philip calls it half a chance. Maggie says he and Xander have an opportunity to help Titan and Victor. Philip asks what she means. Maggie responds that Victor puts on a strong front but he has a broken heart after losing Ciara and Sonny and Arianna moved away so knowing his son and nephew are getting along, taking his company to new heights would do wonders for his spirits. Philip asks what if Xander destroys everything Victor worked so hard for. Philip declares that he won't let some thug steal what it's rightfully his. Philip says Xander pulled the wool over Victor's eyes and asks if he fooled Maggie too. Philip says that Xander is bad news and that Victor is making a terrible mistake by trusting him. Maggie responds that she does not know that.

Victor prays that Hope is right about Ciara even though it's a long shot. Victor tells Shawn that he better get back home since Philip moved back into the mansion last night and Maggie planning a special dinner. Shawn comments that he bets Victor is glad to have him back. Victor confirms he is and brings up knowing Shawn and Philip had bad blood. Victor assumes they are past that now since Philip rescued them all when Jan tried to blow up their reunion. Shawn mentions Jan being back. Victor can't believe she's walking the streets free.

Jan tells Xander that if she reports Philip to the police for threatening her, he will need an attorney and he will hire Belle, who won't be able to turn him down. Xander asks how that helps her. Jan explains that Shawn hates Philip so if Belle is helping Philip with his briefs, that will lead to serious trouble in their relationship so when it all falls apart, she will be there to pick up the pieces. Xander says it sounds convoluted but she had him at reporting Philip to the police. Xander tells Jan to do it, the sooner the better.

Steve asks Tripp again if it's possible that he's the father of Allie's baby. Claire arrives which interrupts them as she says she was going to visit John but he's sleeping so she wanted to talk to them for a minute. Tripp tells her she's not interrupting at all.

Nicole tells Allie that she's sorry this came up so suddenly since she didn't want to talk about Henry's father. Allie says she didn't but confirms the picture is Tripp. Nicole guesses they didn't know each other well or have a relationship. Allie confirms she had only met him once until today. Nicole remarks that that's all it takes.

Claire informs Steve and Tripp that she was thinking about planning a memorial service for Ciara. Tripp says that's really nice of her but questions doing it when Hope thinks it's possible that Ciara is still alive which surprises Steve. Tripp says that's what Shawn told him and Claire adds that he told her the same thing.

Shawn calls Belle and leaves a message, wanting to meet up for dinner after Kristen's arraignment. Shawn says so much has been going on lately that he feels they haven't had the chance to be alone and he misses her. Shawn hangs up and then Jan enters the office. Shawn questions what she's doing here. Jan mentions hearing he was back on the force. Shawn tells her that he's heard what she's been up to and warns her to stay the hell away from Claire. Jan tells him to relax as she didn't have an agenda and was only there to offer her condolences. Jan tells Shawn that she's truly sorry for his loss. Shawn tells her to get out but Jan says there's another reason she's here. Shawn says he's busy. Jan tells him that she has wonderful news as she's about to help him get Philip out of his life.

Philip questions if Maggie is on Team Xander. Maggie confirms that she is since she's seen another side of him since Philip left town. Philip asks if Xander threatened her to talk like this. Maggie reveals to him that Xander saved her life which Philip questions. Maggie explains that when she was in prison and believed she caused the accident that killed Adrienne and her granddaughter, she tried to take her life but Xander found her in the cell and saved her life. Maggie admits Xander has made mistakes but he is sincerely trying to do better by loving her daughter, working hard at Titan, and being a kind friend to her. Maggie adds that Philip doesn't have to like him but Xander is as much part of the family as he is. Maggie advises him to try to get along with Xander because he's not going anywhere.

Sarah comes out of the shower and tells Xander that she thought he was going to join her. Xander says he just got hung up on the call. Sarah tells Xander to shower while she gets dressed. Xander suggests she join him so they head to the shower.

Allie tells Nicole that she's not pregnant anymore so she's going to have a drink. Nicole doesn't think that's a good idea. Nicole says she respects her and her privacy but keeping this bottled inside has to be really hard. Allie insists that she'll be fine and she'll deal with it like she has. Nicole says now she knows who the father is and that he's in Salem. Allie gets that people will talk. Nicole says to forget them as she just wants Allie to talk to her if she's comfortable. Nicole reminds her that she's on her side no matter what. Allie asks where to start. Nicole says where ever she wants because it's her story and she's not here to judge but listen. Allie tells Nicole to buckle up.

Steve questions Hope going to search for Vincent. Claire adds that Ben is helping too even though she told him to let the cops handle it. Steve hopes they find Vincent and Ciara. Claire says they all do but if the worst has happened, she wants to be prepared for something to help ease the pain when they get home. Claire talks about her plan for a memorial service for Ciara. Claire says she really wants to plan it because Ciara was her best friend and she loved her so much. Tripp says that's a lot to take on and offers to help her plan it. Claire says that's sweet but she wants to get on this right away. Tripp says they can go sit down somewhere now if she wants so Claire says she would love that. Steve says he would like to help out too but he and Tripp need to finish their conversation. Tripp says they can finish it later and walks off with Claire.

Victor joins Maggie and Philip in the living room. Victor asks what happened to Sarah and Xander. Maggie assures they will be down shortly. Maggie proposes a toast to Philip having a peaceful and prosperous homecoming. Philip shows Victor a proposal he's been working on for an investment opportunity. Maggie votes for putting business aside for the evening. Victor agrees. Philip talks about the company and needing to move fast before DiMera gets wind of it. Victor admits it looks interesting. Philip asks if he has his okay to move forward. Victor informs him that it's not his okay that he needs, but Xander's. Philip doesn't see why they need Xander involved in this. Xander and Sarah then walk into the room. Xander questions involving him in what.

Jan tells Shawn that Philip threatened to kill her. Jan asks if he doesn't believe her and thinks she's making it up. Shawn responds that he's not saying he doesn't believe her. Jan wants to make a formal complaint. Shawn says it was just a comment but Jan calls it a threat, adding that it was more than words as he grabbed her arm. Jan complains that he has no idea how terrified she is. Shawn tells her that this isn't going to get her points with him. Jan claims that she's in fear for her life and something has to be done about it. Jan argues that he's a cop so he's supposed to take her seriously. Shawn calls her a homicidal maniac so he doesn't. Jan argues that he can't ignore her because she's a citizen and he's an officer of the law. Jan asks if he's going to do his duty or not.

Tripp and Claire go to the town square. Claire thanks him for helping her but says she didn't mean to pull him away from his dad. Tripp assures that it's fine. Claire and Tripp go through pictures of Ciara to pick the best ones for her memorial. They come across a picture of Ciara with Allie. Claire explains that Allie is her cousin and that she was Ciara's maid of honor. Claire talks about Allie being in Europe and coming back pregnant. Claire tells Tripp how the whole thing was a mess as Allie wanted to give her baby to Eric and Nicole but Sami fought her on it so Allie left the baby and took off but now she's back in town. Claire mentions that she hasn't had the chance to go see Allie with everything going on. Claire then remarks that Allie is really cool and that Tripp would like her if he met her. Tripp then reveals that he has met her.

Allie explains to Nicole that she was in London for awhile and was supposed to be finding a job but she was having too much fun in the Pub scene and the club scene. Allie says she had plenty of money so she never felt a sense of urgency to earn a paycheck because she was enjoying herself, shopping all day and going to the club at night. Nicole asks if she tried to get a job. Allie admits she slept through all of her interviews. Allie brings up a club she hung out at a lot and that's where she met Tripp. Allie says Tripp was nice and a little more cleancut than her usual type but cute. Allie adds that Tripp asked her to dance but she turned him down because so many guys hit on her that she wanted to see if he was serious. Allie says Tripp walked away and she thought that was the end of it but there is a lot more. Nicole tells her that she is all ears.

Xander goes over Philip's proposal and says he'd be hesitant to pull the trigger on it because there is heavy risk involved. Philip gets upset and argues that Xander should just admit he hates the idea because it came from him. Xander says that's not what he was saying. Sarah suggests Philip hear Xander out instead of assuming. Xander explains that he's familiar with the company and agrees there is great potential but the risk is one of the partners being eccentric. Xander is sure they can figure a way to work it out so he thinks they should discuss it at the office tomorrow. Xander declares that he looks forward to his first joint venture with his co-CEO but says tonight is not about that but about welcoming Philip home. Philip calls that bull and argues that Xander hates working with him just as much as he does. Victor questions what the hell is wrong with Philip, noting that Xander is being gracious while Philip is acting like a spoiled brat. Philip complains about Xander. Sarah warns him to watch it. Xander suggests everybody calm down and says there's no reason to be fighting when Maggie worked so hard to bring them all together. Maggie suggests they all go to the dining room but Shawn arrives and announces he needs Philip to come to the police station for questioning.

Nicole asks Allie what happened after Tripp walked away. Allie says the club got crowded, drinks were flowing, and she almost forgot about him but after an hour or two, he came back and said they were playing his favorite song so he hoped she changed her mind. Allie adds that she happened to like the song too and she was pretty wasted by then. Allie recalls Tripp picking her up when she almost fell but it was all a blur. Nicole relates to having nights like that. Allie reveals she does remember Tripp offering to take her home and she said yes.

Claire questions when Tripp met Allie but Jan Spears interrupts and greets Claire. Claire introduces Tripp to Jan. Jan asks if she can talk to Claire. Claire says she's busy but Tripp says he has stuff to take care of. Tripp explains to Claire that him staying in Salem depends on if he can transfer med school so he needs to get to the admissions office. Tripp adds that if Claire needs help planning Ciara's memorial, she can give him a call. Tripp walks away then Jan sits with Claire. Jan calls Tripp a nice catch for Claire. Claire says they are not dating but they used to and it's a long story. Jan says she has time but Claire doesn't want to talk about it. Jan notes that she's an excellent listener if she changes her mind. Claire asks what Jan wanted to talk about. Jan says it's about Claire's dad.

Philip asks Shawn what kind of questions he needs to ask. Shawn says they can talk about it at the police station but Philip says they can talk about it here. Shawn says ok and informs him that this is about Philip threatening to kill Jan Spears. Philip asks if he's kidding but Shawn says he's not and asks him to come with him. Philip argues that he told Shawn that in confidence and now he's going all cop on him. Xander smirks while watching on as Victor questions what Shawn is doing. Shawn explains that Jan came to the station and gave a formal complaint so his hands are tied and he's just following up. Philip argues that Jan tried to attack Shawn's wife and daughter so he was just trying to warn them. Shawn asks if he threatened to kill Jan or not. Philip says it's a figure of speech that he didn't mean literally. Shawn adds that Jan said he grabbed her arm and got in her face so he asks if that is true. Philip says probably but claims he doesn't know. Shawn notes that would be assault so now he has to arrest him.

Claire asks Jan what about her father. Jan explains that she ran into him at the police station, claiming that she had no idea he was working there. Jan talks about how she and Claire bonded over how they are judged by people who only see their past mistakes. Jan notes that Claire understands change is possible but her parents don't. Jan says that her parents will say that she went to the station to stalk Shawn but she swears she went to make sure justice is served.

Shawn handcuffs Philip and reads his rights. Philip argues that he was looking out for Shawn's family to protect them from Jan and now he's arresting him. Victor calls for Shawn to remove the handcuffs but Shawn continues on. Philip asks how Shawn could listen to anything Jan says and calls this insane. Shawn escorts Philip out of the mansion. Victor demands his phone so he can call a lawyer. Xander says that he will call his and steps out. Sarah follows Xander out and guesses that he was behind this.

Tripp sits at Steve and Kayla's and thinks back to Allie slapping him.

Nicole asks Allie what happened after she and Tripp went back to her place. Allie tells Nicole that they had sex, she got pregnant, and that's the end of the story. Nicole thanks her for sharing it with her. Nicole offers to make tea but Allie says she's exhausted and done with this conversation so she's going to bed.
