At the DiMera Mansion, Sami brings Allie's baby into the living room and talks about Allie being back but maybe not for long. Sami assures that Allie will look at the baby and want to move to Italy where they can take care of him together. Kate comes in so Sami warns her about waking the baby up. Kate tells Sami that if she came over to sweet talk Allie in to going to Italy with her, it's not going to work because Allie's not here.

Allie goes to Eric and Nicole's apartment. Nicole is surprised and hugs her, telling her she's so happy to have her back. Allie says she had to come back after hearing what Sami pulled to get custody of her son. Allie tells Nicole that she's so sorry as she can't imagine how awful it was. Nicole admits it was devastating but not surprising. Allie declares that this is not over as now that she's back, she's going to get the judge to change her mind and give the baby to Nicole and Eric.

Marlena and Belle eat together at the Brady Pub. Marlena tells Belle about John throwing Sami's cactus back at her which Belle laughs at. Belle brings up the horrible things that Sami said to John before he collapsed and everything she has done. Marlena informs Belle that the outburst is not something John does so it made him think he might be losing control. Belle asks if they should be worried. Marlena says they will just keep an eye on him to make sure he's okay. Belle asks if he will be okay. Marlena assures that he will. Belle wonders why Eric wants to see them all here. Marlena notes that he said it's important. Eric then arrives and confirms that it is important.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Brady tells Victor that he needs an answer. Victor responds that he didn't like his idea yesterday and he doesn't like it today. Brady tells him that he's desperate as Victor is the only one that can help him out. Victor informs Brady that if he thinks he's going to the police to tell them that Brady stabbed him, then he's crazier than the woman who did.

Lani brings Kristen food in the interrogation room at the police station. Lani shows Kristen pictures of Rachel and notes that Abe has been incredible with her. Kristen thanks Lani for taking care of Rachel and says she misses her so much. Lani tells her that she's so sorry for what she's going through and she's so angry at Eli because she wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for him. Eli then enters the room. Lani asks what he wants. Eli responds that he just got a call from Belle, who agreed to take Kristen's case. Eli adds that Belle said she will be there for the arraignment in plenty of time. Lani tells Eli that he can go now. Eli asks her not to shut him out.

Brady tells Victor that he doesn't have to go to the police or tell them anything. Brady says he will go and tell them it was him so Victor just has to back up his story like he did last time. Victor says last time he only said Kristen didn't do it, not that Brady did. Brady worries that if he doesn't get Kristen out from these charges, she will go to jail for a long time and he can't have that. Brady asks Victor to just do what he asked. Victor argues that the cops will never believe him since he's changed his story so many times. Brady reminds him that they found him at the scene with the murder weapon in his hand. Brady says he will tell the police that Victor accused Kristen because he wanted her out of his life and that he stabbed him in a fit of rage. Victor points out that Brady will then go to prison and Kristen will be free after damn near killing him. Brady confirms that's the idea. Victor doesn't like it. Brady doesn't care and says he's going to do it whether Victor cooperates or not.

Kate accuses Sami of trying to manipulate Allie. Sami claims she just wants Allie to see that raising her son with her is what is best for her because she knows Allie loves the baby. Kate says that loving him in being prepared to raise him are two different things. Sami relates to being scared when she had Will. Kate points out that Allie is not her. Sami argues that she knows Allie has a connection with the child and that holding him meant something to her. Sami complains that Allie just doesn't want her to be right. Sami says she has to go because Allie is probably with the judge trying to convince her to throw out her custody and she can't let Nicole raise her grandson. Kate reminds her that the courthouse isn't even open yet. Sami worries that maybe Allie went to see Justin to hire a lawyer. Kate then stops her and informs her that Allie went to see Nicole.

Nicole tells Allie that she appreciates her wanting to talk to the judge but she doesn't think she will listen because Sami's smear campaign made her out to be a monster. Allie calls it a complete lie. Nicole acknowledges she's made terrible choices. Allie wants to tell the judge who Nicole is now and says she's understanding and compassionate like Eric. Allie wants her to hear directly from her, why Eric and Nicole would be the best parents her son could have. Nicole is touched that she still believes in them but informs her that circumstances have changed. Allie asks if she's saying they don't want her baby anymore. Nicole responds that it wouldn't be her and Eric raising the baby, it would be just her. Allie questions what she means.

Marlena asks Eric what's going on. Roman then joins them and says Eric's message sounded serious. Eric then announces that he's leaving Salem for Africa. Belle questions why. Eric explains that he got a surprise visit from an old friend named Angie who he met in the Congo and she was raising money for a relief fund. Eric talks about when he used to live there and they need comfort and reassurance. Eric says Angie believes he can still help. Belle asks about Nicole and Holly. Eric says they had a long talk because he told Angie that he couldn't leave but Nicole made him realize how much his work in Africa and the people there meant to him. Eric believes it's something he really needs to do and Nicole gave her blessing. Marlena asks when he's going. Eric reveals he is leaving tonight.

Victor tells Brady that he's asking him to lie for him. Brady points out that he already did. Victor reminds him that Brady ending up in prison defeats the whole purpose of getting the charges against Kristen dropped. Brady admits he wanted them to have a life together but now Kristen is under arrest and may go to prison. Brady argues that he could cut a deal for a much lighter sentence because the D.A. is sympathetic to what Victor put them through. Victor reminds him that he did that to protect Maggie. Brady responds that he's doing this to protect Kristen. Brady asks Victor to tell the police that he drove him to do it and that maybe he even deserved what he got. Victor admits maybe he did. Brady asks if he will do it then. Victor clarifies that it's for Brady, not for Kristen.

Lani tells Eli that she's visiting with Kristen now. Eli asks her to talk when she's done but Lani says she'll need to go be with Rachel after. Eli decides that he'll say what he needs to in front of Kristen then. Lani says it's not the time. Eli argues that he was really upset that she didn't come home last night. Lani questions him expecting her to after what he did. Eli says he missed her and was worried about her since she's pregnant with their kids. Lani questions him not being worried about Kristen, who already has a kid, at all. Lani tells Eli that she's fine as she and Rachel stayed at Abe's last night. Eli says he knows she feels betrayed but he still loves her and she's pregnant with their twins. Eli asks if there is any way they can move past this. Lani asks Eli to just let them know when Belle gets there. Eli says he will and exits the room. Lani can't believe Eli was so open with his feelings in front of Kristen and guesses he really is desperate for her to forgive him. Kristen suggests that maybe she should.

Allie asks Nicole if she and Eric broke up. Nicole says of course not. Allie doesn't understand why she'd be raising her baby alone then. Nicole explains that Eric is going back to Africa because a friend of his stopped by last night and told him about how bad his old village is doing so she asked Eric to go back and help. Nicole says it's in Eric's soul and after talking about it, they both agreed that it's the right thing to do. Allie asks if Nicole will go with him. Nicole says they can't bring Holly into that situation. Allie asks if she would consider raising her baby by herself.

Eric knows it seems sudden. Marlena says that it is and points out that Eric just married the woman he always loved and got the family he always wanted so she asks if he's sure this is what he wants to do. Eric says that he is. Eric admits he will miss all of them but he couldn't be fully present in his life here while knowing the people in Africa are suffering. Roman asks if Nicole is really okay with this. Eric says she is so Roman asks about Holly. Eric admits they haven't told her yet but assures it will be a team effort and it won't be forever. Eric says they will video chat every day. Marlena tells Eric that she's so incredibly proud of him. Roman says he is too as Eric is always putting others first and calls him a damn good man. Belle cries that they've been on the same continent for like five minutes and now he's leaving so she's going to miss him. Eric says he will miss them all so much. Marlena asks Eric if there are other people he has to say goodbye to. Eric mentions leaving Brady a message but he hasn't gotten back to him yet. Roman asks about Sami.

Sami doesn't understand why Allie would go to Nicole. Kate guesses Allie wants to talk to someone who is going to listen and brings up Allie's letter. Kate tells Sami that Allie feels close to Nicole. Sami can't stand it and calls Nicole a murdering, baby stealing, whore. Sami accuses NIcole of brainwashing her child and declares she won't let her steal her daughter's child. Sami adds that custody was awarded to her. Kate points out that Allie is the mother and still has rights. Sami states that the court made it's decision. Kate says Allie will try to get that thrown out. Sami argues that she's going to stop Allie right now but Kate says she's not. Sami tells Kate that she's just trying to make sure that Allie doesn't hand her baby to Nicole. Sami adds that Kate hates Nicole as much as she does so she can't imagine she wants her great-grandson to be raised by Nicole. Kate admits she doesn't so Sami asks why she's trying to stop her. Kate says she doesn't want Sami to drive Allie away again and worries that's exactly what will happen.

Nicole tells Allie that her head is still spinning as she's still overwhelmed that Eric is leaving tonight. Allie says she didn't mean to pressure her. Nicole says raising a baby is a big responsibility and points out that they never discussed this in person as all they had to go on was Allie's letter. Allie assures that she meant every word as she knows Nicole would be the most amazing mother to her son. Nicole brings up the letter saying Eric would raise the baby too as a package deal but that's not true anymore.

Eric states that he has nothing to say to Sami after what she did to Nicole. Marlena and Roman question leaving without saying goodbye. Eric says he doesn't have a lot of time and he doesn't want to spend a moment fighting with Sami. Eric says he has to go and goes to leave but Belle gets a call from Brady. Brady tells her that he needs to talk to her right away and asks if she's with Kristen. Belle says not yet and she was on her way to the station but got sidetracked. Belle says she's at the Pub with Eric, Marlena, and Roman. Brady mentions getting a voicemail from Eric but he hasn't had a chance to check it so he asks if everything is okay. Belle informs Brady that Eric is leaving town for Africa tonight so he called them here to say goodbye. Belle adds that she's sure he'd like to say goodbye to him too so Brady says he will be there soon. Brady hangs up and thanks Victor for agreeing to help him. Victor reminds him that it's for him, not for her. Victor calls Brady stubborn. Brady says it's just like him. Victor adds that he hates what he's doing and he's only going along with it because Brady won't change his mind. Brady calls it another thing they have in common; they'll do whatever they have to do to protect the people they love. Brady thanks him and exits.

Lani questions Kristen wanting her to forgive Eli, reminding her that she's in this situation because of him. Lani says no and declares she will never forgive Eli. Kristen asks her not to say that as she doesn't want her to lose her husband. Kristen reminds her that she's bringing two babies in to this world and she doesn't want her to do this alone. Lani points out that Kristen was prepared to raise Rachel alone which she calls different. Lani complains about Eli destroying Kristen's future and family. Kristen suggests they turn the other cheek. Eli sits outside the interrogation room and looks through the window at them.

Sami tells Kate that she won't just push Allie away forever. Kate points out that every time she tries, it backfires. Sami says not if she can convince her to come with her to Italy to raise her child together. Kate insists she's only going to make things worse. Sami asks what could be worse than Allie handing over her baby to Nicole. Kate brings up that Allie tried three times to give the baby to someone she trusted but each time Sami messed it up so maybe she'll give it up for adoption. Sami argues that Allie would never do that. Kate argues that Sami doesn't know anything about Allie so she doesn't know what she will do, pointing out that last time she took off and left a letter. Kate warns Sami to stop now or everything will get worse for her. Sami complains that she can't just sit here and do nothing as she has to stop her somehow.

Allie asks Nicole how long Eric will be gone for. Nicole admits they don't really know and it depends on how long he feels he needs to be there. Allie complains that if Sami just respected her letter, the baby would be with her now. Nicole knows how frustrated she is but they can't look back. Allie says she needs to stop being angry about what didn't happen and make sure the right thing happens now. Allie adds that she's going to tell the judge that her decision was not fair and not what she wanted so she has an obligation to fix it. Nicole calls those powerful words but she's not sure if it's enough to change the judge's mind. Allie brings up having Justin as a great lawyer so she feels together they can get the judge to change her mind and give the baby to Nicole. Allie adds that first, she needs to know if Nicole still wants the baby.

Brady goes to the Pub and tells Eric that he hates to see him go. Brady understands it's a great cause but he's excited they are leaving on good terms for a change. Brady says Eric has been very forgiving of him. Eric says that's all behind him and he is very happy for he and Kristen so he hopes everything works out for them. Brady hugs Eric and says he will really miss him. Belle gets up and joins in their hug. Eric tells Belle he loves her and sends his love to Claire. Belle calls him a really good man. Eric says he loves them both as he hugs them. Eric goes back to the table while Brady tells Belle that he wasn't expecting this. Belle encourages that Eric will be back. Belle says she has to get to the station to talk to Kristen so she invites him to come with her. Brady says before she goes, he has to talk to her about something important as there has been a change in strategy.

Lani can't believe Kristen has forgiven Eli. Kristen clarifies she's turning the other cheek, reminding her of their convent days. Lani calls Kristen her best friend. Kristen talks about Eli being her husband and how much he loves her. Kristen says she didn't reunite them so they could be apart. Lani complains that Eli put his job ahead of her. Kristen points out that now she is putting her friend ahead of her. Lani argues that she is doing what's right. Kristen talks about Lani's love for Eli. Lani asks how she's ever supposed to trust him again. Kristen suggests hearing what Eli has to say and encourages her to go. Lani then gets up and looks out the window at Eli. Lani exits the room. Eli tells her that he hasn't heard from Belle. Lani tells him that she wanted to talk about them as Kristen looks on from the window.

Sami tells Kate that if she knows Allie so well, she should help her. Kate doesn't think she can because Allie is probably asking Nicole if she's still on board with raising the baby and if she is then they will go to Justin and on to the courthouse. Sami argues that doesn't automatically mean she will hand the baby over to Nicole. Kate adds that Allie is probably also making the case for why Sami shouldn't get custody either. Sami agrees that even if Nicole doesn't get the baby, she could still lose custody and she can't let that happen. Kate doesn't think there is anything Sami can do to stop it at this point.

Nicole wishes she could give Allie an answer right now but it's a really big decision and she has to talk to Eric. Nicole says even though Eric is going away, they need to do it together. Allie asks Nicole to at least consider it which she promises to do. Allie thanks her and they hug.

Brady asks Belle to take his confession to the D.A. and try to make a deal. Belle reminds him taht he has two children who need him and John needs him so they can discuss this. Brady assures that his mind is made up. Belle asks about Kristen going along with this. Brady says he will talk to Kristen. They go back to the table. Brady tells Eric to keep in touch. Belle says she has to go and hugs Eric. Brady and Belle then exit together. Eric tells Roman and Marlena that he has to get home to Nicole. Roman tells Eric that he's going to miss him as they hug. Marlena asks if there's anything to pick up for him for his trip. Eric says he has everything he needs. Marlena says he has a heart full of love. Roman hugs Eric again and tells him to travel safe. Eric says he loves them both as Marlena joins their hug. Eric then exits the Pub.

Eli and Lani go home to talk. Lani tells Eli to go first. Eli knows she was upset that he arrested Kristen and he told her he was just doing his job but he sees in her eyes that it's no excuse. Eli calls Lani the love of his life who is carrying his future children so he doesn't want to lose her over this. Eli asks if there is any way Lani can forgive him. Lani responds that she doesn't know but she'd like to try. Eli says that's all he can ask for.

Brady goes to the interrogation room to see Kristen. Kristen asks where Belle is since she has to be at the arraignment soon. Brady informs her that Belle is trying to cut a deal with the D.A. because he's going to confess to stabbing Victor but Kristen says no.

Marlena tells Roman this has been quite the whirlwind. Roman credits Marlena for keeping it together because he knows she's hurting as much inside as he is. Marlena admits that just having Eric close by was always such a comfort. Roman points out that they have said goodbye to him before and he's always come back so he thinks he will. Marlena hopes he does.

Eric comes home to Nicole, who asks if he said all his goodbyes. Eric says he said all but one as he kisses her. Nicole gets tearful as they hug.

Sami thanks Kate for making her see that there is no point in talking to Allie because she will never change her mind. Kate says Sami will have to come to terms with giving up the baby. Sami says she didn't say anything about that. Sami declares that she has the baby now and legal custody so she has to take him back to Italy with her now when no one can stop her. Allie walks back in and questions stopping her from what.
