Xander tells Jan that he just doesn't think Philip should get away with threatening people. Jan asks if he works for him or something. Xander clarifies that he works with him for now. Xander then introduces himself to Jan and that he's Philip's cousin but he can't stand him. Xander adds that he can't stand Philip threatening a woman. Jan asks if he's going to protect her from Philip. Xander responds that Philp must be stopped but she doesn't need him to do that as she can do it all by herself.

Philip swears that he won't let Jan Spears hurt Belle or Claire. Belle thanks him and hugs him until Shawn walks in and says "not this again".

Eric asks Nicole if she's saying she wants him to go to Africa. Nicole says of course not but she knows how much the people in the village mean to him. Nicole recalls Eric taking her there and seeing how much he meant to them. Nicole doesn't think he should have decided not to go without talking to her since married couples are supposed to make decisions together.

At the hospital, Sarah informs Marlena that John's latest test results look positive. Marlena responds that sometimes things are really good and sometimes not so good. Sarah asks Marlena about the not so good moments. Marlena says that John is sometimes having emotional after effects like anger. Marlena explains that John got angry with Sami and they had a terrible fight. Sarah comments that fighting with Sami isn't exactly the same as fighting Mr. Rogers since Sami does have a way of pushing people's buttons.

After Lucas exits the living room of the DiMera Mansion, Sami then pulls out her phone and makes a phone call for two first class tickets directly to Rome as soon as possible for herself and her grandson. Sami says she lives in Rome and she needs to get the baby home as soon as possible but Allie suddenly enters the room and says like hell she is. Sami hangs up and says she can't believe Allie is back. Allie responds that it looks like she's just in time. Sami hugs her and says thank God that Allie is safe and that she came to her senses. Allie says she knew what she was doing when she left and when she wrote the note that she wanted Eric and Nicole to raise her baby. Sami argues that she didn't know what she was doing. Allie says Sami isn't listening to her and just wants what she wants. Allie complains that Sami just wants to run her son's life like she did her own kids but says it's not going to happen. Allie declares that she came back as soon as she heard Sami stole her baby from Nicole and Eric so her plane ride home will be alone.

Eric didn't think there was a decision to make and questions how he could take a job in Africa when they just got married. Eric says his life is here with Nicole and Holly. Nicole says she loves their life but she also loves Eric and how his heart goes out to people in need. Eric tells her that he loves her. Nicole says doing the better thing doesn't come easy to her, especially in this case, but she doesn't want the fact that he loves her to change who he is. Nicole wants Eric to stay the man that she married.

Philip tells Shawn that he heard about Ciara and he's sorry. Shawn questions if this is a condolence call. Belle explains that Philip is here because of Jan Spears. Shawn asks what now.

Xander and Jan sit together in the town square. Jan asks what he's suggesting. Xander says that if someone threatened to kill him, he would go to to the cops. Jan doesn't think they would take her seriously because of her relationship with them. Xander points out that Philip did threaten her so she has to take that seriously. Jan questions if this is about her safety or about Philip. Jan remarks that no Kiriakis expresses concern for another human unless there's something in it for them.

Marlena tells Sarah that she knows Sami so she thought her fight with John was her fault but John admitted that he picked the fight for no good reason. Sarah thinks the best she can do is let everyone know that John isn't feeling like himself and it's not his fault. Marlena adds that John wants to know how soon this will all be over but Sarah says that no one knows. Sarah asks Marlena to keep her updated as she's going to check on John. After Sarah walks away, Claire arrives at the hospital and asks Marlena how it's going. Marlena tells her that it's one step at a time. Claire says she just came by to visit John and give her a break. Marlena tells her that John is resting right now but she's glad to see her. Marlena asks how Claire is holding up. Claire says she's just numb and can't believe that Ciara is really gone. Marlena offers to recommend someone for her to talk to. Claire then reveals that she has someone.

Belle explains to Shawn that she came home to find Jan alone with their daughter. Shawn questions Jan being here in his mother's house. Belle adds that Jan was hugging Claire which Shawn also questions. Belle talks about Jan trying to comfort Claire about Ciara when Claire doesn't even know who she is. Belle declares that now they know Jan is back in Salem to screw with them and that she's going to use their daughter to do it.

Xander explains to Jan how Philip showed up out of the blue and started demanding his job so now they are co-CEOs. Jan comments that Philip can be insufferable. Jan asks if Xander wants him out of the picture by her going to the police. Xander doesn't think it would play too well if a co-CEO of Titan issued a death threat. Jan says now it's crystal clear why he's so concerned about her safety. Xander promises to make it worth her while.

Allie complains that what she wants never means anything to Sami. Sami argues that she couldn't let Nicole raise Allie's child and calls her a murderer. Allie points out that Sami is not Mary Poppins and brings up how she did everything she could to get away from her. Allie adds that she didn't even want Sami to know about the baby because she knew what she would do. Sami claims she just tried to take care of the baby but Allie says she doesn't know how. Sami questions if Nicole does. Allie responds that Nicole knows how to listen as she and Eric gave her time and space until Sami came back. Sami asks if it means anything to her that a court gave her custody. Allie accuses Sami of paying off the judge. Sami brings up Jan testifying how Nicole was going to murder her own husband and asks if that's the type of person she wants raising her child. Allie says Nicole is who she wants raising her child and she's going to make it happen.

Eric tells Nicole that the villagers do need help but that doesn't mean he needs to be there. Eric says he can stay here with Nicole where they can raise money and awareness together. Nicole responds that she can raise a lot of money but she can't look someone in the eyes and give them the strength to keep going like Eric does. Nicole argues that Eric can make people believe things will get better. Eric says maybe he could take Nicole but he can't take Holly so his life is right here and this is not a decision that needs to be made. Nicole then asks Eric if she and Holly weren't a factor, would he still have turned Angie down?

Claire talks to Marlena about how she and Ciara were just starting to get back to a good place. Claire says Ciara forgave her after all the horrible things she did to her and now she's gone just like that. Claire doesn't know what she's going to do without her. Marlena encourages that she's not alone. Claire points out that Marlena has to take care of John, Belle is mad at her, and Shawn will be even more mad when he finds out. Marlena asks what he'll be finding out. Claire then informs her that she was talking to someone who really understood what she was going through but it turned out to be Jan Spears.

Shawn says the one good thing is that Claire will never speak to Jan again now that she knows who she is. Belle says she'll tell him later. Shawn thanks Philip for coming by and says not to let them hold him up. Philip says he doesn't want to butt in but they have a common enemy in Jan so he can be a resource. Shawn asks what Philip has to say. Philip points out that Shawn and Belle are a cop and a lawyer so they have to follow rules that he doesn't. Philip suggests they let him know if Jan tries something again. Shawn questions why they would do that. Philip then reveals that he told Jan that if she tried to hurt anyone he cared about again, he'd killl her, and he meant it.

Sarah finds Xander in the town square with Jan and says he better not know who that is. Xander responds that he doesn't as they just met. Sarah then introduces Xander to Jan Spears and asks if she's tried to blow anyone up yet. Xander questions it being that Jan Spears. Sarah brings up how Jan tried to kill Xander's uncle Victor. Jan responds that it was not her idea as Nicole put her up to it.

Eric questions how Nicole can say she and Holly aren't a factor when they are his life. Eric can't believe she's even doing this. Nicole says she doesn't want him to go but they both know not going wouldn't be him. Nicole tells Eric that she loves him but she doesn't want him here if his heart is 7000 miles away and already left. Nicole feels Eric's heart left when he looked through the file of photos that Angie left. Nicole says she's trying to do the right thing so she asks Eric to just do what he has to do and to do it for her.

Allie tells Sami that she's going to get her baby but Sami informs her that she can't do that because she's not his guardian anymore. Sami declares that the court gave her full custody so Allie can't take him anywhere. Allie tells her to watch her as she goes to walk out of the room. Sami says she doesn't know why Allie hates her but guesses she has to accept it and that it's her fault. Allie responds that she doesn't hate her. Sami tells her to set aside her hate and do what's best for the baby. Sami argues that Allie is using the baby to hurt her since she could've given him to anyone to raise but she chose Nicole Walker because she knows nothing in the world would hurt her more. Allie repeats that she is thinking about the baby. Sami asks if she was thinking about him when she took off and left her note. Sami argues that Allie left and didn't make sure her baby was settled somewhere so she did what she had to do. Allie admits she underestimated her but she always gets what she wants. Allie argues that Sami wants to take her son back to Rome with her where she can hand him off to servants while she takes care of EJ. Allie tells her that's not going to happen. Sami reminds Allie that she doesn't have custody so she doesn't have a say in what happens to him now because she gave that up.

Nicole talks to Eric about being cynical for a long time and how she envied his faith but now it's rubbing off on her. Nicole says she's been looking at things differently, feeling she screwed up them not getting Allie's baby. Nicole talks about what a wonderful father Eric would have been. Nicole suggests Angie showing up may be God's plan. Nicole cries that she's happier than she ever thought possible with Eric and Holly. Nicole decides that if God can give her all that after all the crap she pulled then she can loan Eric to God for awhile. Nicole declares that if God wants him to go, she won't stand in his way.

Marlena reminds Claire of what Jan has done to her parents and to a lot of people. Claire knows she's done terrible things just like herself but when she told Jan how she was feeling about Ciara, she really understood. Marlena argues that Jan is a sociopath who is a major manipulator. Claire feels Belle thinks she's too stupid to know the difference. Marlena argues that Belle is just worried that Jan will take advantage of Claire because she's vulnerable. Claire argues that maybe she and Jan just understand how each other feel. Claire states that she and Ben got a second chance so she asks why can't Jan.

Jan tells Sarah that Nicole took advantage of her when she was in a fragile place. Xander questions Jan trying to kill his uncle. Sarah remarks that Jan hasn't stopped trying to kill people ever since. Sarah suggests they get the hell out of here and takes Xander away.

Shawn questions Philip threatening to kill Jan when Jan is a dangerous psychopath and now he's pushing her buttons. Belle thanks Philip but says she and Shawn need to speak privately. Philip repeats that he is sorry about Ciara as he exits the house. Shawn asks Belle to tell him everything. Belle responds that it's not what Jan said that scared her, but what Claire said. Belle tells Shawn that she was trying to explain to Claire who Jan was and all the things she's done but Claire kind of stood up for Jan and said she felt a connection to her. Shawn can't believe it. Belle explains that Claire thinks calling Jan crazy is the same as people calling her crazy as they are both misunderstood. Belle admits she's scared because she sees Claire getting this idea and not being reasonable. Belle states that Claire shut her out and let Jan in.

Marlena tells Claire that sometimes mentally ill people are treated badly so she can understand her feeling empathy for Jan but it needs to come from a trained professional. Marlena questions how her family would feel about Claire standing up for someone who tried to destroy their lives. Claire argues that she did the same thing to Ciara so she can't judge someone for being like her. Marlena decides she's going to see John. Marlena tells Claire that she's never made rules for her so she must know this is important. Marlena orders Claire to stay away from Jan for her own good and her family's as she walks away.

Nicole thinks she and Eric have said all that needs to be said. Nicole suggests they go to bed and they can talk about this tomorrow. Eric kisses her as she cries.

Allie argues that she is the baby's mother. Sami says the simple solution is Allie coming to Rome with her and giving herself a chance to fall in love with her baby. Sami compares it to herself and Will, adding that she'll be there to help her every step of the way. Allie says that this is what Sami wanted all along as she thought she would get her back too. Sami says she wants what is best for her and she knows she loves her baby. Sami says she's trying to stop Allie from making the biggest mistake of her life.

Belle tells Shawn that she was already scared that what happened to Ciara would be too much for Claire to handle but now Jan was hugging her. Shawn hugs Belle and assures that he won't let anything happen to Claire. Belle asks what if something already has.

Claire walks through the town square where Jan approaches and apologizes for not telling her who she was. Jan relates to Claire's feelings about doing terrible things.

Xander and Sarah go home to the Kiriakis Mansion. Xander swears he didn't know who Jan was and that he just heard Philip say he wanted to kill her. Sarah guesses that Xander saw it as a way to pay Philip back for trying to steal his office. Xander promises to steer clear of Jan and that he'll find another way to deal with Philip. Xander says Philip won't get away with what he tried to pull and he won't be so smug when he's done with him. Sarah knows they are at war but suggests leaving it at the office and not bringing it home. Xander agrees to not even mention Philip at home as he and Sarah kiss. Sarah suggests he grab a bottle of wine and meet her upstairs. Sarah then heads upstairs while Xander goes in to the living room to get the wine. Xander comes back out as Philip comes in. Xander questions what he's doing here. Philip responds that he can kick him out of his office but he can't kick him out of his house.

Sami tells Allie that she can take being the bad guy in her story and she can hate her if she wants. Sami says all that matters is Allie and her baby and that they are happy. Sami tells Allie to go see her baby and she'll see that it's all about him.

Xander questions Philip moving in. Philip responds that they will be one big happy family. Philip admits he shouldn't have tried to kick him out of the office since they are supposed to be equals. Philip suggests they share the office so he can keep an eye on him. Xander asks if that's a promise or a threat. Philip tells him to take it any way he wants as he exits the room.

Belle tells Shawn that she told Claire everything that Jan did to them but Claire feels she can't ask for forgiveness if she doesn't forgive anyone else. Shawn questions forgiving Jan Spears. Shawn decides maybe Philip is right and they should just let him kill her.

Claire tells Jan not to call herself crazy no matter what anyone else says. Claire says they have to take care of themselves. Jan says it means a lot to her that Claire talks to her like a human being. Jan tells her not to let her come between her and her parents because she's really lucky to have parents who love her as much as they do. Jan calls her a wonderful daughter. Jan understands she doesn't want anyone to see them together so she tells Claire that if they bump in to each other, she doesn't have to talk to her and can keep walking. Jan says she will understand and walks away.

Allie tells Sami that on her way home, she was thinking about all the things Sami got away with and how nobody ever tells her no but her. Allie informs Sami that she's going to the judge tomorrow and warns her not to even think about getting on the plane with her son. Allie then walks out of the room.

Eric and Nicole lay in bed together. Nicole tells him that she and Holly will be here for him when he gets back. Eric says he would never agree to go if he didn't know that and he loves her. Nicole says she loves him as they kiss.
