Maggie walks in to the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and questions why Victor is loading a gun. Victor responds that he's going to the hospital to kill Ben Weston.

Hope exits Julie's Place and breaks down crying over a photo of Ciara on her phone. Abe appears and hugs her, telling her he's so sorry.

At Hope's house, Claire tells Shawn that she is cleaning for Hope but wishes she could do more. Shawn hugs her and says she's sweet to help but mentions that she didn't have to stay with him and could've gone to see John at the hospital. Claire says she wanted to keep him company and adds that she's happy about John's recovery but she doesn't think she could stop thinking about Ciara long enough to hold it together.

At the hospital, Brady gets a call from Kristen. Brady informs her that John woke up and it looks like he will be okay so he's very relieved. Brady says he'll be back shortly but Kristen reveals that she's at the police station because she's been arrested. Brady questions what happened and if someone recognized her. Kristen says she will tell him when he gets there and asks him to just hurry. Brady says he'll be right there and hangs up. Belle arrives and tells Brady that she heard the great news that John is awake. Brady confirms he is then stops Belle and says before she goes in, he needs a huge favor.

At the police station, Eli tells Lani that he knows she considers Kristen a friend. Lani calls Kristen her closest friend and argues that they wouldn't even be together if not for her. Eli insists it was his duty to arrest her because she's a fugitive and he swore to protect the law. Lani brings up his oath to her when they were married. Lani asks if Eli will always choose his job over his wife. Eli argues that it's not what he did. Lani says he knew how strongly she felt about keeping her friend out of prison but he went behind her back and arrested her anyway. Lani declares that Eli betrayed her and asks how she's ever supposed to trust him.

Hope apologizes for crying all over Abe's suit. She asks him if Theo heard. Abe confirms Theo is devastated. Hope talks about how Theo and Ciara were such good friends. Abe asks how she's doing. Hope cries that she's taking it moment by moment and says it's good to be with family. Abe asks if Doug and Julie are inside. Hope explains that she convinced them to go home because they need some time off. Abe brings up making her the interim police commissioner with Rafe out. Hope assures that staying busy is good because she personally wants to see Vincent brought in and charged. Hope declares that he needs to pay for what he put her daughter through. Abe tells her to let him know if she needs anything. Hope thanks him as he hugs her.

Eli tells Lani that he didn't want to go against her wishes but he had to do what was right. Eli brings up that Kristen tried to murder someone. Lani points out that Victor made her think that her child was dead. Eli questions if vigilante justice is okay. Lani says no but it's okay to feel sympathy for someone who felt the same thing they felt. Eli argues that their son had nothing to do with this while Kristen's crime means she needs to be behind bars. Lani asks if Rachel just deserves to not have a mother. Eli says it's not for him to decide. Lani argues that Rachel has already lost so much time with Kristen because of Victor and now she might lose her forever because of Eli. Lani says she's going to get Rachel from the aid that is watching her because she has to look out for her since her mother can't.

Belle questions Brady being with Kristen all this time. Brady says he hated to leave her and Rachel behind but he had to come see John. Belle asks if Kristen followed him here. Brady explains that she wanted to support him while John was in the hospital. Brady tells Belle that he needs her to represent Kristen. Belle brings up everything she's done to John and Marlena. Brady knows she's had her issues with her and that's why it's a big favor. Brady pleads with her to do it for him, calling her the best lawyer he knows. Belle agrees to think about it so Brady thanks her. Belle advises him to tell Kristen not to say anything to the cops for her sake and his because he could get in a lot of trouble. Brady responds that he just needs to keep Kristen out of prison because she needs to be with their daughter.

Shawn gets a text from the police station and has to go. Shawn offers Claire a ride to the hospital but Claire declines, not wanting to break down crying in front of John. Claire assures that she'll be fine alone as she'll be dusting and doing laundry. Shawn tells her that he's proud of her and assures they will get through this. Shawn hugs her and says he loves her as he then exits. Claire picks up a framed photo of Ciara and wipes away tears. Jan Spears then enters the house with flowers. Jan says the door was open and introduces herself to Claire as an old friend of her parents. She says she heard about Shawn's sister and wanted to offer her condolences. Claire says that's kind of her and that she just missed Shawn. Jan asks about Belle. Claire says she's not home either. Jan calls it interesting that Claire is here all by herself.

Maggie questions what Victor is talking about and argues that he can't kill Ben. Victor responds that Ben is laid up in a hospital bed so he's a sitting duck. Maggie knows Victor is upset about Ciara but her death is not Ben's fault. Victor disagrees since Vincent only kidnapped Ciara to get at Ben so the blood is on his hands. Maggie argues that Ben loved Ciara so he's going through hell just like him. Victor feels he'd be doing him a favor. Maggie tells Victor that he can't go in the hospital with a gun unless he wants to end up in prison. Victor supposes she's right and decides he'll hire somebody else to do it.

Lani takes Rachel to Julie's Place where she meets with Abe. Abe questions the baby so Lani informs him that she is Kristen DiMera's daughter.

Brady goes to the police station and tells Eli that he needs to see Kristen. Eli directs him to the interrogation room so he enters the room and hugs Kristen. Brady asks if she's alright. Kristen cries that she's not. Brady asks her what happened and if Lani turned her in. Kristen assures that she would never do that and it was all Eli who arrested her. Brady hugs her as Kristen says she's sorry.

Eli calls Lani and leaves a message, saying he's sorry and wants to make things better. Eli asks her to call him back so they can talk. Eli hangs up as Hope arrives and asks if there's any news. Eli tells her that he needs to talk to her about an arrest he made. Hope asks if it was Vincent. Eli says he's sorry but it wasn't. Hope declares that Vincent was responsible for her daughter's death and he's still out there so that's who they need to find.

Claire asks why Jan finds it interesting that she's alone. Jan explains that she just lost someone close to her so she wouldn't think she'd want to be alone at a time like this. Claire says there's just a lot going on for her whole family. Jan says she's not doing anything and offers to keep her company or help her clean. Claire says she doesn't need to. Jan says she doesn't mind, claiming she adores her parents and would like the chance to get to know their daughter.

Brady tells Kristen that he knew if Eli found out, he wouldn't be quiet about it. Kristen thought Lani could talk him into it but Eli wouldn't look the other way. Kristen assures that Lani had no idea that Eli was going to show up and then he handcuffed her. Brady asks about Rachel. Kristen informs him that she was with Lani and they walked right in to her being arrested. Kristen hates that Rachel saw her like that. Brady asks where she is now. Kristen assures that Lani is taking care of her. Kristen knows she messed up everything and apologizes for not being more careful and listening to him. Kristen worries that now she could lose Brady and Rachel forever.

Abe questions Lani about Kristen being back in town and that she's babysitting for her, reminding Lani that Kristen is a fugitive. Lani responds that Kristen is also the best friend she's ever had, who was there for her at her lowest when she had to walk away from Eli and she trusted her to be there for her now but she let her down which Abe questions. Lani explains that Kristen trusted her to protect her and keep it a secret that she was in Salem but Eli came home and she thought he would keep the secret but it was a huge mistake. Lani informs Abe that Eli went right behind her back and arrested Kristen so her own husband double crossed her. Lani declares that she's never felt more betrayed.

Eli tells Hope that he's sorry but they don't have any new leads. Hope questions why this is so difficult since Vincent took off on foot before the explosion so he must have left a trail. Eli says there's nothing they can track but promises they are doing everything they can to find him. Eli then answers a call and tells Hope that they have a potential lead as a man was seen getting on a bus heading south. Hope worries that he could be anywhere by now. Eli says it's a lead. Eli knows how close the case is to Hope so he suggests she go home and rest but Hope refuses until she gets answers. Hope declares that she needs to know what happened to her daughter. Shawn arrives with the forensics report from the explosion and says he might be able to help with that.

Maggie takes Victor's phone and tells him to that she's stopping him from making a huge mistake as no one is shooting anybody. Victor argues that Ben has to pay for what he's done. Maggie insists it's not Ben's fault as he never wanted to hurt Ciara. Victor says Ben may not have hurt her with his own hands but he did. Victor talks about trying to warn Ciara and show her how wrong Ben was for her. Maggie tells him that Ciara loved Ben and Victor did everything he could to protect her. Victor feels he could've done more to keep them apart and remarks that he should've killed Ben when he had the chance. Victor declares that he failed Ciara and now she's gone.

Kristen tells Brady that he sacrificed so much for her to be with their little girl. Kristen says she should've been more careful and worries about Brady getting in trouble because of her. Kristen fears that Brady could go to prison for helping a fugitive and then their daughter will have lost both her parents and it will have been her fault. Brady tells her not to beat herself up as what's done is done and they need to focus on getting her out of this mess. Kristen asks how to do that. Brady informs her that he asked Belle to represent her. Kristen asks if Belle is on her way. Brady says she hasn't agreed yet but is thinking about it. Kristen comments that everyone in town hates her so no one will be on her side.

Abe tells Lani that he understands she's upset and feels that Eli betrayed her but he was just doing his job. Lani can't believe Abe is taking Eli's side. Abe says he just understands his point of view. Lani gets that Eli did the right thing as a cop but as a husband, he totally screwed her over. Abe calls it a complicated situation. Lani argues that Eli could have warned her that he was going to arrest her best friend. Abe tells her that Eli loves her and would never do anything to hurt her. Lani argues that Eli is tearing a family apart and asks how someone who is about to be a father could want to rip a child away from her mother.

Hope asks what the report says. Shawn says he just picked it up from the lab but he hasn't read it yet. Shawn notes they did say the explosion was caused by a bomb and remotely triggered. Shawn guesses Vincent set it off when they were pursuing him. Hope asks if they found any of Ciara's remains. Shawn admits he was too afraid to ask but if so, it's in the report. Eli offers to look but Hope insists on doing it. Hope opens the report and says she doesn't understand because what she's reading doesn't make any sense.

Brady tells Kristen that Belle will come around and help them. Brady adds that Belle advised her not to say anything to the police. Kristen guesses she should get another lawyer as she's just scared. Kristen cries that this is so unfair after all that Victor did and he's free. Kristen remarks that Nicole had the right idea in taking out Victor by getting someone else to do it. Kristen then asks where's Jan Spears when you need her...

Jan offers to help Claire clean but Claire says she's fine on her own. Jan says she doesn't want to intrude as everyone grieves in their own way but she likes being around other people. Jan says she learned a lot after years in therapy. Jan sends her condolences to Claire's parents and goes to leave but Claire stops her and decides maybe she's right that talking about Ciara would help. Jan says she'd be happy to listen and asks Claire what she loved about Ciara and how losing her makes her feel. Claire tells her that she loved Ciara because she was so sweet, smart, and loyal. Claire adds that she feels so guilty because of how she's treated Ciara in the past and cries that she did terrible things to her a couple years ago which Jan asks about. Claire cries that she wasn't in her right mind as she loved Ciara so much but she almost killed her. Claire is sure that sounds crazy but Jan says she completely understands as sometimes they hurt the ones they love.

Abe tells Lani that he knows Eli didn't handle things the way she wanted but he is her husband. Abe talks about it being a special time in their life having twins so they can't let Kristen or anyone else come between them. Abe encourages Lani to go talk to Eli. Lani says she doesn't have anything to say to him right now and she's watching Rachel. Abe offers to watch Rachel. Lani says she would never ask him to do that. Abe points out that he offered and says he'll need practice for when her twins arrive. Lani asks if he's sure he's up for it. Abe assures her and advises her to go work things out with Eli.

Hope goes over the report and discovers they found DNA evidence of Ciara being in the car and her wedding rings but they didn't find any of her remains or bone fragments. Shawn asks how that's possible. Hope declares that the other possibility is that Ciara wasn't in the car when it exploded...

Brady doesn't think it's useful for Kristen to think about other ways she could've murdered Victor. Kristen agrees, acknowledging that Victor is Brady's family. Brady states that she and Rachel are his family. Brady agrees that what Victor did was unforgivable. Kristen points out that Victor is out on the street while she's locked up here. Brady says they won't focus on Victor but on helping her case. Kristen asks how to do that. Brady says there has to be something he can do. Kristen says he already tried to get Victor to recant his statement and that didn't go over well. Brady responds that it gives him an idea.

Maggie tells Victor that he didn't fail Ciara as he did everything that could've been done. Victor responds that she's dead and he didn't stop it. Maggie tells him that he doesn't control everything so instead of blaming himself or Ben, he should let himself grieve. Victor doesn't want to sit around feeling sorry for himself. Maggie argues that he's allowed to be sad and miss his granddaughter. Victor talks about how all the kids started abandoning him and the company but Ciara was there and gave him hope. Maggie praises Ciara. Victor states that she could have done so much with her life. Maggie asks how his anger serves her memory and suggests letting it go so he can be there to help others who loved Ciara like Hope, Shawn, and Claire because they need him and that's what Ciara would have wanted for her family as she hugs him.

Claire questions Jan hurting people she cared about to and asks what she did. Jan informs her that she used to get really obsessive about things and her feelings would take over her life. Jan says she knew what she was doing was wrong but she couldn't help herself. Claire relates to feeling the exact same way before and asks if Jan doesn't feel that way anymore. Jan tells her that she's learned to manage those emotions. Claire asks about her therapy. Jan tells her that she came back to Salem to right some of the terrible wrongs of her past. Claire responds that she came back to Salem for the same reasons and she was just starting to rebuild her relationship with Ciara. Claire says they were finally back on track but now she'll never have the chance. Jan says she's sorry for her loss. Claire thought they would have time to get close again but now her best friend is gone. Claire breaks down crying that she's alone. Jan tells her that she is there for her as she hugs her.

Shawn argues that they found Ciara's DNA and rings in the car. Hope says they all know that doesn't mean she was actually in the car when it exploded so she could've escaped. Shawn brings up the security photo of the car. Hope argues that was 30 minutes before they caught Vincent so she could have escaped. Hope points out that they never saw her in the car that night. Shawn agrees and notes the windows were tinted as Hope exclaims that Ciara could be alive. Hope asks what if Ciara is still alive. Eli asks where she is then. Hope declares they are going to find out as she and Shawn rush out of the station. Lani then returns to the station. Eli says he's glad she came back as they have a lot to talk about. Lani says not now because she's here to see Kristen and heads into the interrogation room. Kristen asks how Rachel is. Lani says she's fine as Abe is watching her since she didn't want her to see her like this. Kristen says it was bad enough that Rachel saw her get arrested. Lani asks how she's doing. Kristen admits she's scared. Kristen talks about finally finding true happiness with Brady and now she could lose that forever. Lani apologizes as she begged Eli to keep quiet and she thought he would listen but she had no idea he would do this to her. Lani tells Kristen that she's sorry for letting her down. Kristen assures that she didn't and that she couldn't ask for a better friend. Kristen tells Lani that she loves her. Lani tells her she will make this right.

Brady goes to the Kiriakis Mansion. Victor is surprised to see him back. Brady informs him that he came to see John. Victor asks how John is. Brady responds that he's finally awake and going to be okay. Maggie assumes Brady heard about Ciara which he confirms. Brady calls it absolutely tragic but says that's not why he's here. Victor asks why he is here. Brady reveals that Kristen has been arrested and he needs Victor's help to save her.

Shawn follows Hope out of the town square and asks where she is going. Hope responds that she's going to find Ciara. Shawn questions how. Hope tells him that the only person who knows if Ciara was in the car is Vincent and they just got a lead that he was taking a bus out of Salem. Shawn reminds her that he could be anywhere. Hope says she will search everywhere because her daughter may still be alive so if there's any chance, she will never give up until she knows for sure what happened to Ciara.

Claire tells Jan that she shouldn't be breaking down like this in front of a stranger. Jan says she knows they just met but she feels like she knows her and they have a lot in common. Jan repeats that Claire's parents mean a lot to her. Claire apologizes for spilling her guts to her when she doesn't even know her name. Belle then walks in and tells Jan to get the hell away from her daughter.
