John opens his eyes in his hospital bed, exciting Brady and Marlena. Marlena asks if he can talk to them while Brady asks how he's feeling.

Lani tells baby Rachel that it's time to take her back to her parents.

Eli shows up at Kristen's room at the Salem Inn. Kristen tells him it's been awhile. Eli asks to come in. Kristen says it's not a good time but Eli walks in anyways. Kristen knows Lani told him that she's in town and she's sure he heard about Brady's father. Kristen apologizes for putting him in an awkward position but she appreciates him covering for her. Eli questions who said he was covering for her.

Hope enters the interrogation room at the police station where Eve questions if she found Vincent. Hope informs Eve that they found him last night so Eve asks what happened. Hope explains that she and Shawn got a lead that led them to the house where Vincent had been hiding out in. Eve asks about Ciara. Hope responds that Ciara is not alright.

Ben sleeps in his hospital bed, dreaming about Ciara coming back to him.

Eve asks what happened to Ciara. Hope informs her that Vincent took her to an airfield for private planes. Eve asks if he got away with her. Hope explains that they stopped him and cornered him then when Ben approached the car, it exploded.

Ben's dream continues of reuniting with Ciara and talking about their future together.

Kristen tells Eli that she didn't mean to put him in a terrible position. Eli argues that she put Lani in a terrible position as she's pregnant with twins and she's a cop but Kristen didn't care about that and used their friendship to make Lani turn a blind eye to a crime again. Kristen argues that she didn't ask Lani to turn a blind eye and just needed a friend to watch Rachel so she could be here for Brady. Eli questions when the Salem PD started offering daycare to fugitives. Eli warns that she may have got Lani to rationalize what she did, but not him. Eli then informs Kristen that she's under arrest for the attempted murder of Victor Kiriakis.

Marlena asks if John knows where he is. Brady tells him they are here and not going anywhere. Marlena tells him that he's in the hospital after surgery on his brain and the doctors thought it would be better for him if he was unconscious for a few days. John questions being out for days. Marlena asks if he remembers what happened to him and brings up Sami saying they were alone and arguing. John responds that he doesn't know what she's talking about. Marlena calls it normal and says it's retrograde amnesia but nothing to worry about. John then asks who Sami is.

Eve questions if Vincent put a bomb in the car and swears that was not part of the plan. Hope informs her that Vincent had his own plan that had nothing to do with Eve. Eve asks what she means. Hope explains that Vincent had his own motive to go after Ciara because he was engaged to Wendy Taylor at the time when she was murdered by Ben. Hope cries that Eve and Vincent were the same in wanting a life for a life.

Ben dreams about planning his honeymoon with Ciara.

Lani tells Rachel that she's sorry that she had to hear her and Eli arguing. Lani says grown ups argue, even ones that love each other. Lani adds that Eli doesn't understand why Kristen is her friend but she is and she stands up for her friends. Lani hopes Eli will learn to let this go.

Kristen pleads with Eli not to arrest her because her daughter needs her. Eli argues that she should've thought about her little girl before she stabbed Victor. Kristen says she wasn't thinking and Victor made her believe her child was dead, comparing it to Eli and Lani having a stillborn son. Eli yells at her to never use his dead child to get to him. Kristen cries that she was just trying to make him understand and asks how he would like it if someone made him believe his son was dead and he went through pain and grief for no reason. Eli argues that he would take them to court and make them pay, not commit a felony. Eli states that Kristen took the law into her own hands and now it's his job to arrest her and take her into custody. Kristen asks what Lani will think if he does that.

John says he's sorry that there is so much he doesn't remember. Marlena encourages that he's conscious and talking to them. Brady says they have been so worried about him. Marlena reminds John that he's in the hospital where everyone cares about him and they won't leave his side until they know he's well. John responds that he's sorry but he doesn't know who they are. Brady and Marlena leave the room, talking about how the doctors don't know what caused this. Marlena hopes it's short term. Brady wonders if it's brain damage. Marlena sees Kayla so she goes to talk to her while Brady says he's going to make a call.

Kristen argues that Lani will feel betrayed if Eli arrests her after saying he wouldn't and asks if that's what he wants. Eli responds that it's between he and Lani so it's none of her damn business. Kristen argues that they wouldn't be married right now if not for her because she convinced Lani to fight for him. Kristen says she's the reason that Eli found out about Gabi blackmailing Lani and asks if he's thought about the fact that he might be married to Gabi right now if not for her. Eli agrees that she's probably right. Kristen begs him, if his marriage means anything to him, to walk out the door and forget he ever saw her. Lani then shows up at the door and says she's there with Rachel as she knocks on the door.

Ben dreams about finding out Ciara is pregnant and becoming a father.

Eve asks how Hope can sit there so quietly when she saw the car explode. Hope tells her to shut up. Eve asks if she got to see Ciara and say goodbye. Hope responds that the fire chief told her there was nothing to see because all they found were Ciara's rings and that was it.

Ben dreams of being with Ciara after she gave birth to their son and naming him after her dad.

Lani knocks on Kristen's door again but Eli answers. Lani questions what he's doing here when he said he was on his way to the police station. Kristen responds that Eli had a change of plans. Kristen greets Rachel and then informs Lani that she was trying to convince Eli not to arrest her. Kristen adds that maybe Eli had a change of heart. Lani hopes she is right. Eli declares that he's sorry but he has a job to do. Kristen pleads with Lani as Eli handcuffs Kristen. Kristen tells Rachel that she loves her and asks Lani to take care of her. Lani tries to stop Eli but he escorts Kristen from the room.

Marlena returns to John, who tells her that Kayla said he's doing alright. John asks if Marlena is one of his doctors as well. Marlena responds that she is a doctor but also his wife and they've been together a very long time. Marlena tells John about their daughter Belle. John asks if Brady is their son. Marlena clarifies that he is John's son with his first wife Isabella, who died very young. John comments that it sounds like he's been through a lot. Marlena says they have survived a lot together. John asks her to tell him about it. Marlena talks about when she was shot the day of their wedding which John questions. Marlena says she will explain it at some point but she went into a coma and it didn't look very good for her but John never left her side. Marlena states that she survived because she had to find her way back to him and she's going to sit by his side until she knows that he's well again. Marlena tells John that he means the world to her. John then declares that he could never forget her for long and reveals that he remembers her.

Ben dreams of he and Ciara moving in to their new house with their baby.

Brady returns to John's hospital room and asks if everything is okay. Marlena informs him that John had a breakthrough and remembers who she is. Brady is glad to hear and asks how John is doing. John responds that he's doing better and jokes about not remembering him. John asks where he's been. Brady says he missed him so much as they hug. Brady declares that John is back and everything is going to be okay..

Eli brings Kristen to the interrogation room at the police station. Kristen hopes he enjoyed arresting her in front of her daughter and her best friend. Eli argues that she did this to herself so she can't put it on him. Kristen points out that Lani was furious when he dragged her out. Eli says he's going to start her paper work and it won't take long so he warns her not to try anything. Kristen asks about her one phone call so Eli tosses her the phone and walks out of the room where Lani is waiting.

Brady informs John that he spent the last few weeks with Kristen and Rachel. John asks how that went. Brady says it's been the best having his family together but he came back as soon as he heard about him. John thanks him. Brady assures there's no place he'd be other than by his side. Brady talks about everybody in town being worried about him. John knows he's lucky to be talking to him now. Brady knows they want some alone time so he will allow that and asks if he can get them anything. John says he's good and Marlena says she has everything she needs. Brady mentions that he's going to call Kristen at the Salem Inn to tell her the good news. Marlena stops and questions Kristen being in Salem. Brady confirms that she and Rachel are. Marlena asks if that's a good idea. Brady admits it's not but she wanted to be with him as he then exits the room.

Eli asks Lani what she did with Rachel. Lani says she's being watched by an aid and questions why he cares anyway after he handcuffed her mother right in front of her. Eli says he didn't know she was going to show up with the baby. Lani thought they had an understanding and tells Eli to level with her next time instead of lying to her face.

Ben dreams of Mother's Day with Ciara and his gift to her was her rings which she questioned.

Eli tells Lani that he didn't lie to her as he planned to come straight here but he started thinking about Ciara. Eli says Ciara didn't do anything to anyone but that didn't matter to Eve or Vincent. Eli feels like all the bad guys are winning and there's no justice in this world. Eli says the more he thought about it, the madder he got and the next thing he knew, he was at Kristen's. Lani questions this being justice. Eli argues that the rule of law is for everybody so they can't just bend it for themselves and their friends. Lani argues that he only knew Kristen was in Salem because she told him so she traded their personal relationship so he could be the hero. Lani questions how he could do that to her.

At the hospital, Brady gets a call from Kristen. Brady questions her calling from a different number and informs her that John woke up and it looks like he will be okay so he's very relieved. Brady says he'll be back shortly but Kristen reveals that she's at the police station because she's been arrested.

Marlena asks John if she can get him anything. John jokes with her to sneak out for strawberries and cream. Marlena says she's been so worried about him and she was afraid he might have had permanent damage. Marlena adds that when he woke up not knowing who she was, she thought she might have lost him forever. John tells her that he's sorry as he can only imagine what that felt like. Marlena is thankful he is okay and here with her. They agree they are so lucky as they hug.

Ben's dream continues with Ciara question why he is giving her the two rings she already had. Ben then wakes up in a panic in his hospital bed and sees that he has Ciara's rings in his hand.
