Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 9/9/20

Outside the Pub, Tripp runs in to Claire. Claire asks what he's doing back in town. Tripp tells her that he's just visiting Steve and Kayla. Tripp mentions hearing she got out of Bayview and says she looks like she's doing good. Claire responds that she is good. Tripp starts to walk away but Claire stops him.

Hope and Shawn break into the building where Vincent held Ciara but there is no one there.

Vincent drives Ciara in a car. Ciara asks where he is taking her. Vincent tells her she'll see. Ciara tells him to go ahead and shoot her. Vincent then asks why he would shoot her and calls her Wendy. Vincent then puts his gun down on his lap and talks to Ciara as if she is Wendy, saying he has big plans for her. Ciara questions where he is taking her. Vincent responds that if he told her, it wouldn't be a surprise.

Ben remains handcuffed to the table in the interrogation room. Jake comes in and says he thought Ben could use a friend.

Abigail tells Chad that she's sorry to hear about Gabi's mom but not at all sorry that Gabi is gone. Abigail asks how long she's gone for. Chad says it's indefinitely and he's thrilled. Chad says every time he saw Gabi's face, it reminded him of what she did to Abigail and how she drugged her and caused her hallucinations. Abigail says it's too bad they don't have any proof. Chad states that they don't have to worry about that anymore because Gabi is gone so the threat to Abigail is over as they toast their drinks.

Gwen remains at the bar in Julie's Place, drinking a glass of champagne. Gwen has a flashback, revealing that she was in Julie's Place the night that Abigail was drugged..

Abigail tells Chad that she had too much time to think in Florida. Chad asks what she was thinking about. Abigail says mostly about how much she missed him and the kids and how lucky she is. Abigail says those were the pleasant thoughts. Abigail tells him that she's been thinking about the night she was drugged at Julie's Place and she's been wondering if maybe they were wrong about who drugged her champagne. Abigail points out that they don't have any proof so she wonders why they're so sure it was Gabi.

Gwen thinks back to that night at Julie's Place, revealing that she is the one who drugged Abigail's champagne.

Ben tells Jake that he didn't have to come but Jake says he couldn't risk losing his best mechanic. Jake says he would've been there sooner but it's been a wild couple of days as he broke up with Gwen then Gabi left town which Ben questions. Jake says her mom is sick so her whole family went to Mexico with no idea when they'll be back. Jake tells Ben that he's more worried about him right now. Jake says he knows there's no way Ben would ever hurt Ciara so he questions what he's doing in here. Ben complains that he's waiting for Justin to get the charges dropped so he can get out and find Ciara before it's too late..

Hope and Shawn search the room at Wendy's old place. Hope says they have nothing but they know Vincent had been living there. Shawn questions if he was planning his revenge. Hope then finds Ciara's bracelet on the floor and realizes she was there.

Vincent talks to Ciara as if she is Wendy and says this is true love. Ciara tells him that she's not Wendy which Vincent laughs off, insisting that she is his Wendy. CIara says she's sorry to tell him this but Wendy is dead. Vincent remarks that she's not dead yet.

Claire tells Tripp that she's glad she ran into him even though she's probably the last person he wants to see but she wants to apologize for everything. Tripp says she already did. Claire says she wasn't in her right mind then and that she wants to do more than apologize now. Tripp tells her that's not necessary as she's worked hard at getting better. Claire says she had so much time to think about what she did to the people she loves and Tripp is one that she loved and hurt the most. Claire wants to somehow make it right.

Chad tells Abigail that he understands she always wants to be fair and give the benefit of the doubt. Chad asks who drugged the champagne if it wasn't Gabi. Abigail says she doesn't know but talks about how Gabi likes to gloat when she gets away with something. Abigail thinks Gabi would have bragged about it endlessly if she actually did it. Chad calls that a fair point. Gabi adds that Gabi also claimed Dr. Rolf admitted to setting her up. Chad notes there were no witnesses to that. Abigail says it just doesn't make sense. Abigail brings up Gabi trying to inject Jake because she was desperate to help him, not hurt him. Chad admits there are some holes but Gabi is the only one that had means, motive, and opportunity. Chad adds that she's the only one who handled the champagne that night. Chad gets why Abigail is skeptical and it's not like Gabi to not gloat when she got away with something. Chad adds that no one else has a vendetta against them and no one would want to hurt her like that...

Gwen's flashback continues to watching Chad and Abigail drink their champagne after she had drugged Abigail's glass.

Ben tells Jake about Vincent drugging him, causing him to think maybe he hurt Ciara so he told Hope to arrest him. Jake questions why Hope isn't letting him go. Ben says there are official channels in all of this. Ben complains that Vincent took off with Ciara while he's stuck here and no one is telling him anything. Jake decides to see what he can find out and exits the room.

Hope tells Shawn that she gave Ciara the bracelet on her birthday two years ago so she left it for them to find so they are on the right track. Hope exclaims that they are going to find Ciara.

Vincent talks to Ciara as if she is Wendy about how they plan to buy a farm and have kids. Vincent says his life doesn't mean anything without her. Ciara knows he loved Wendy but Wendy is dead. Vincent refuses to believe it, insisting that they are together now and able to start living the life they dreamed of. Vincent declares that they promised to stay together until death do them part so he's going to hold her to that.

Tripp tells Claire that she doesn't have to make amends or anything up to him. Tripp says it's not like he didn't make a mess of things himself as he made some really bad choices. Tripp says he realizes that he was totally insensitive to her. Claire blames herself being so needy and clingy. Tripp says he was really selfish and made everything about him when he should've been thinking about what that did. Tripp understands his stunt marriage to Haley pushed her too far. Claire asks if he heard that Haley died. Tripp mentions getting in touch with her mom and how they just started getting close. Claire calls Haley a really great person and she was so in love with JJ then in a minute everything changed. Claire cries that she's just thinking about Ciara.

Hope notes a recent oil leak which mean Vincent is likely behind the wheel so they have to find the car. Shawn decides to do a DMV search and finds out it's registered to Wendy Taylor. Shawn hopes someone spots it and calls it in.

Vincent asks Ciara as if she's Wendy, if she still loves him. She says he seems tired and suggests he pull over. Vincent asks if she wants to end it all. Ciara tells him that she wants them to be together. Vincent promises they will be forever. Vincent says that Ben tried to stop them from living their dream but he swears it won't happen this time.

Jake returns to the interrogation room and tells Ben that Justin spoke to the district attorney and he's optimistic that he will be released soon. Ben argues that he needs out now not soon. Jake asks what else he can do. Ben thanks him but says it's in Justin's hands now. Ben is sure Jake has places to be. Jake tells Ben to let him know if he needs anything. Jake encourages him that Ciara is tough so he knows she will break free and find her way back to him. Jake tells Ben to hang in there as he exits.

Chad suggests they stop talking about Gabi and just focus on them. Abigail agrees as Chad says he hasn't been able to welcome her home properly and then they kiss.

Gwen's flashback continues of watching Abigail finish her drugged champagne after she and Chad talked to Julie. Gwen then finishes her own glass of champagne and goes to leave but runs in to Julie. Julie asks if she knows her from somewhere. Julie introduces herself as the owner while Gwen claims to be just another happy customer. Julie insists she looks very familiar. Gwen then tells Julie that she was involved in an incident here with Chad which Julie questions. Gwen explains that she had too many drinks and Chad made sure she got home. Julie is sure she wasn't working that night but insists she remembers Gwen's face.

Chad and Abigail kiss on the couch until Abigail suggests they take it upstairs. Chad remembers he has to make one quick call first so he gets up and exits the room. Abigail goes to take her pills and says Gabi and the hallucinations are done ruling her life. Jake then enters the room, causing Abigail to think that he is Stefan.

Tripp tells Claire that Kayla told him what was going on with Ciara. Claire says it's so horrible how everything went to hell right after Ciara and Ben got married. Claire tells Tripp about how Ciara actually forgave her and let her back in her life. Claire cries that she has so much to make up to her and worries that she's lost her again for good. Tripp assures that Hope won't stop until she finds Ciara. Claire asks what if they don't find her or it's too late. Tripp says they both love her and hugs Claire as she cries.

Shawn and Hope go to the police station to check if anyone has seen Wendy's car. Ben comes out of the interrogation room and asks if they found Ciara. Hope says not yet but they may have a lead as Shawn and Jack found an old application for a marriage license belonging to Vincent and Wendy Taylor. Ben recognizes Wendy's name as the midwife. Hope tells him that Vincent wants him to pay for what he did to Wendy. Ben responds that now Ciara is paying for it.

Ciara goes along with Vincent like she is Wendy and tells him that a life with him is all she wants. She then tells him that she didn't pack so they have to go back for her things. Vincent assures that he'll buy her all new things for a new life. Ciara questions where this new life of theirs is. Vincent informs her that an old car like this can't get far so they will be getting on a plane.

Abigail realizes Jake is Stefan's twin. Jake didn't realize she was coming back so soon. Abigail assures that she's not crazy and she has her meds. Abigail explains that she's better for a lot of reasons since she's been to therapy, meditated, and had the support of her family. Abigail asks what's going on with him. Jake tells her that he's adjusting to this very different life. Abigail comments that living with his ex-girlfriend must be weird. Abigail mentions meeting Gwen and that she was in Chad's arms when she came home because he was comforting her after Jake dumped her. Jake mocks the idea of comforting her. Abigail questions why he said it like that. Chad then comes back into the room so Jake suggests she ask him.

Gwen acknowledges Julie as Claire's great grandmother and says she must have seen her with Claire but Julie says that's not it at all. Julie adds that she doesn't think it was recently either. Gwen guesses she just has one of those faces and says she has to go. Gwen mentions hearing about Ciara and says she'll keep her family in her prayers. Gwen then exits.

Ben realizes he took the woman Vincent loved and now he's taking his so this is his revenge. Hope assures him that they are going to find Ciara.

Claire tells Tripp that she's sorry and that he didn't have to hug her. Claire says she was the crazy girl obsessed with him. Tripp calls that the past but Claire says it will never be in the past for her because of what she was capable of doing to the people she loves. Claire doesn't ever want to go back to being that person. Tripp encourages that she's stronger than she gives herself credit for. Claire swears that she will do whatever it takes to stay healthy because the idea of going back to that dark place freaks her out.

Ciara tells Vincent that she's afraid of flying. Vincent says he won't let anything happen to her. Ciara tells him that he doesn't need the gun but Vincent says he has to be ready to protect her from Ben.

Claire tells Tripp that she's grateful for him being so kind to her. Tripp is grateful that she's back to being herself. Tripp then gets a text from Steve about their food at the Pub. Tripp then invites Claire to join them.

Abigail tells Chad that Jake was just insinuating there might be something going on between Chad and Gwen. Chad responds that Jake doesn't know what he's talking about because he's a happily married man. Jake questions if Chad is just letting Gwen stay out of the goodness of his heart. Chad responds that he's letting her stay to make his life miserable. Jake warns that he will pay for that. Chad asks what that means. Jake tells Chad that you can't keep snakes in your backyard and only expect them to bite your neighbors. Jake warns Chad that he will find out as he exits the room.

Gwen goes home to her room at the DiMera Mansion. She opens up her bag and pulls out the drug she used on Abigail's champagne.

Ben agrees with Hope that they are going to find Ciara. Shawn gets a hit on Wendy's car and finds it leading to an airstrip out of town. Hope realizes he planned to fly her out of town. Ben decides he's going with them.

Vincent complains that the gate is locked and questions how they are supposed to get to the plane. Ciara suggests they can come back tomorrow but Vincent says it has to be now and questions why everything has to go wrong. Ciara tries to leave but Vincent asks where she thinks she's going.

Shawn and Hope stop Ben, telling him to let them handle it and that he's too emotionally involved. Ben points out that they are too so they all exit the station together.

Ciara tells Vincent that she was going to try to open the gate so they could get on the plane. Vincent says she always calms him down. Vincent then snaps out of it and realizes Ciara is not Wendy as he raises his gun.

Chad tells Abigail that he's sorry about Jake and to just ignore him. Abigail says they agreed to work on everything together. Abigail asks if there's anything Chad wanted to tell her, like what Jake is so convinced something is going on between he and Gwen. Chad thought they were ignoring him but Abigail says they can't. Abigail asks why Jake would say something like that if Chad could refute it. Chad clarifies that he can refute what Jake thinks but not what he saw. Chad then admits that Jake saw Gwen kissing him.

Gwen holds the drug and thinks back to drugging Abigail's champagne. Gwen wonders if maybe it's time for another dose for Abigail. Jake then walks into her room.

Claire tells Tripp that she has to get back to check on any news on Ciara. Tripp asks her to let him know if she hears anything which she agrees to. Claire tells him to have a safe trip back to California. Tripp informs her that he's actually thinking about saying in Salem so Claire guesses she will be seeing him around. Tripp then heads back in to the Pub.

Hope, Shawn, and Ben locate Vincent and his vehicle. Hope and Shawn draw their guns and order Vincent out of his vehicle and to drop his gun which he does. Ben asks where Ciara is. Hope orders Vincent to get on the ground but he runs off so they chase after him. Ben goes to check the car for Ciara but the car then explodes! Ben is knocked down as the car is engulfed in flames.
