Gwen can't believe Jake wants to break up since they love each other. Jake tells her that he does love her and part of him always will. Gwen asks if he wants to be a couple with Gabi after sleeping with her once. Jake says he doesn't know what's going to happen but he'd like to find out and Gabi feels that way too. Gwen calls Jake a stupid idiot and says Gabi just feels like he can help her get in at DiMera or pretend to be her dead husband in bed. Gwen declares that either way, Gabi is using him.

Gabi repeats that she has a lot going on right now and tells Eduardo to take his problem somewhere else. Eduardo responds that he is taking it somewhere else and he's taking her with him. Gabi refuses to go anywhere with him. Eduardo understands she's upset but says he needs her to understand that staying here is not an option because their lives are in danger. Gabi questions if he expects her to just drop everything and leave with him. Gabi reminds him that she has a life and a daughter here. Gabi remarks that Arianna wouldn't even know him. Eduardo responds that Arianna is in danger too so she must come with them. Gabi questions him saying so when they haven't heard from him in over a year and argues that he never gave a damn about them. Gabi declares that she is not going anywhere.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Will tells Sonny that Marlena told him the doctors are keeping John sedated until his swelling goes down then they will be able to tell if there was any permanent damage. Sonny tells him he's so sorry. Will just feels bad for Marlena. Sonny tells Will that he understands if Will wants to stay in town to be with her even though they are moving to Arizona soon. Chad then walks in and realizes Gabi wasn't lying and questions that they are really leaving Salem.

Ben then breaks down crying as Hope asks him what he did. Ben tells her about Ciara trying to tell him to get help. Hope asks if he let her go. Ben says he told her that he loved her but he didn't have a choice. Hope cries, asking if he killed Ciara. Ben cries that he fought it with everything in him and he doesn't know but he wanted to.

Jake tells Gwen that Gabi is going through a tough time. Gwen questions what he sees in Gabi. Jake responds that they get each other. Gwen argues that Gabi only knew he existed because she thought he was Stefan. Jake argues that she knows he's not and she still wants him. Gwen insists that Gabi just wants to use him. Jake mocks Gwen talking about using people when she wanted to use his DiMera name to move into the mansion. Gwen says she just wanted him to get what he deserves and she had no idea he'd get seduced by Gabi. Jake clarifies that he wasn't seduced as it was mutual. Gwen throws a vase at him which smashes against the wall and says that's what he deserves. Jake asks what's wrong with her and says she's nuts.

Will and Sonny explain to Chad how Sonny and his brothers started a new business venture to revolutionize breast cancer treatment in honor of their mom. Sonny talks about it being meaningful to him and says he had to jump at the opportunity to run the company. Will adds that he can probably find a job out there too so they are just going for it. Chad calls it amazing and he knows it would make Adrienne proud but selfishly, he doesn't want his two best friends to leave. Will says they feel the same but assure Chad that he can visit. Chad brings up Gabi saying they wanted to take Arianna. Will points out that Gabi is dead set against that. Chad jokes about them taking Gabi with them to get her out of his hair. Sonny says they are going to have to come up with a reasonable arrangement with Gabi as he thinks they can come to an agreement on Arianna. Will is not so sure as he brings up Eric and Nicole battling Sami for custody of Allie's baby and how it got real ugly, real fast.

Eduardo asks what he can say to get Gabi to grasp how serious this is. Gabi argues that she shares custody of Arianna with her two fathers, who are trying to take her away from her. Rafe questions why they would do that. Gabi explains that Sonny got a new job so they are moving to Arizona. Gabi then asks why they would let her keep Arianna when they are running for their lives. Gabi remarks that they don't even know if this threat is real. Eduardo shouts that it is real and that they already tried to kill Dario. Gabi calls him a liar and says he's just saying that to scare her. Eduardo says she can ask him herself as he then calls Dario. Dario ends up telling Eduardo that he just got a message from these thugs that they know where he is and they're onto him, warning that Rafe and Gabi are next.

Hope asks Ben if he remembers killing Ciara. Ben swears that he doesn't and he just remembers standing over her in the shower with the tie in his hand. Hope asks where she is then. Ben says he would never hurt her. Hope asks where her daughter is. Ben suggests maybe she ran away. Hope asks why she didn't find a way to call then and says she has to find her. Ben begs Hope to arrest him because he terrorized Ciara. Hope blames it on Eve. Ben argues that whatever Eve did to him is not done so as long as he's free, Ciara is not safe. Ben pleads with Hope to take him in for Ciara.

Gwen wants to go have a chat with Gabi but Jake stops her. Jake tells her she doesn't have to go after Gabi as none of that matters because it's not going to change his mind. Jake declares that he and Gwen are done. Gwen holds back tears and asks what the hell they do now. Jake suggests she move out.

Chad can't believe he's saying this but tells Will and Sonny that he actually feels bad for Gabi because he knows how hard it was for her to be away from Arianna when she was in prison. Chad talks about separation being hard. Sonny asks how Abigail is doing. Chad responds that she's working hard to get better and they both hope she'll be home soon. Chad notes that Abigail will be bummed that they're not here when she comes back. Will repeats that they can always visit. Chad says they will figure it out with Arianna. Chad wishes them luck and hugs them goodbye. Chad says he loves them and that Salem won't be the same without them as he exits.

Rafe gets on the phone with Dario and sends him a place to hideout. Rafe tells Eduardo and Gabi that Dario is safe for now. Gabi realizes this is real. Eduardo says he doesn't have the words to express how sorry he is but swears to do everything in his power to make it up to them but right now they have to move. Gabi calls this crazy. Gabi says she's a mother first so she knows waht she has to do to make sure her daughter is safe.

Gwen asks Jake where she's supposed to go. Jake suggests back to Philadelphia. Gwen complains that she'll run into the mob that he screwed over. Jake argues that she can't stay here after what just happened. Gwen suggests they start over. Gwen argues that Jake only had sex with Gabi because she kissed Chad so they are even now. Gwen wants to pick up where they left off. Jake stops her and says they can't. Jake gives Gwen money for a hotel room or a plane ticket as he thinks it would be best if she left Salem. Gwen asks if he means so she doesn't have to see him and Gabi. Gwen says she doesn't want his money. Jake says he's going to clean up and leaves the money on the table. Jake adds that he hopes Gwen finds someone who makes her happy and that she has a good life. Jake then exits the room as Gwen holds back tears.

Sonny tells Will that it's too bad Chad hates Gabi since they could use a good mediator. Will doesn't think Gabi would listen anyways since she said she would never compromise when it comes to her daughter. Sonny says they love Gabi but they have seen the lengths she will go to get what she wants. Will adds that clearly what she wants is to keep Arianna in Salem. Gabi then walks into the living room with Rafe and Eduardo. Sonny and Will question what's going on. Will says they could figure this out without involving Eduardo. Gabi claims to them that Eduardo came to tell her that her mother is very sick so she and Rafe are going with him to be with her in Mexico. Gabi says at least for now, Arianna is going to stay with them. Eduardo thought the plan was for Arianna to come with them. Gabi tells him the plan changed. Will says they would be thrilled to take Arianna but he's sorry to hear about her mom. Sonny says with his new business venture, he has access to medical resources so they can help her mom with better care here than in Mexico. Eduardo calls that impossible. Sonny asks what's wrong with her but Eduardo says it's private. Sonny tells them to just say the word and he'll send the Kiriakis jet. Eduardo turns him down and tells Gabi to go say goodbye to her daughter. Gabi stops and says this is wrong, arguing that if they want to keep Arianna safe then Will and Sonny need to know the truth. Gabi then reveals to them that her mom is not sick but Eduardo pissed off some important people and now they want to kill their entire family, including Arianna.

Hope brings Ben to the police station where she and Eli hold him back from Eve. Ben blames Eve for doing this. Eve argues that she wanted him to feel the same pain she felt when he murdered her daughter. Ben says she could have come after him then and left Ciara out of it. Ben prays that he didn't kill Ciara but wishes he could kill Eve right now. Rafe arrives and asks what's going on here. Hope informs him that she found Eve at Paige's grave site so she arrested her. Rafe asks why Ben is handcuffed. Ben tells him that Eve had Vincent brainwash him to kill Ciara. Rafe asks if that's true. Hope responds that she doesn't know. Rafe asks where Ciara is but Hope doesn't know. Rafe questions if Eve knows where Ciara is. Eve swears she told Hope everything she knows. Rafe argues that she blew up a church full of people and questions why he should believe her. Hope points out that Eve did tell her where to find Ben and Ciara but when she got there, she only found Ben and not Ciara. Rafe hugs Hope as she cries, encouraging that it will be okay. Ben brings up today being the anniversary of Paige's death so Eve decided to have Vincent brainwash him to go back to where Paige died and try to kill his wife but now all he remembers is that he trapped her in the bathroom with a necktie in his hands. Ben complains that he doesn't remember anything else. Rafe asks about Vincent. Eli says they have an APB out but no more information. Eli says he's going to take Eve to her holding cell. Eve claims she's truly sorry if she put Ciara in danger because she was out of her mind with grief and rage. Eve adds that she hopes Ciara is okay. Eli then takes Eve away. Rafe repeats to Hope that he's sorry. Hope says they need to find her. Rafe sends officers to search every inch of the dorm campus. Rafe asks Hope to talk in private.

Eduardo tells Gabi that they should've kept this in the family. Gabi argues that Arianna will be safer with her fathers and if they are going to protect her, they need to know the truth. Will asks if she's sure this threat is real. Gabi admits she didn't believe it at first but then she spoke to Dario and he said they already attacked him once and are coming for all of them. Sonny asks if she's sure there's no better way to keep her safe then to go on the run. Eduardo says he's sorry but there's not so they are going to make it look like Arianna is coming with them to Mexico to see her grandma but in reality, they will trust her to them in Arizona. Gabi argues that it's one thing to force her and Rafe to lie but now to force Will and Sonny to lie. Sonny assures that it's okay and promises to keep Arianna safe. Eduardo thanks him and says they have to go. Will asks Gabi when they will see her again. Gabi says she doesn't know but she has to figure out a way to say goodbye to her daughter. Gabi then exits the room and heads upstairs.

Chad goes to Gwen's room at the DiMera Mansion and questions what the hell happened when he sees the smashed vases on the floor. Gwen says she's sorry but she broke a few things because Jake broke up with her and it's all Gabi's fault.

Will tells Eduardo that it just never ends with him. Sonny blames Eduardo for unleashing Orpheus on the town and now for tearing Gabi away from her daughter. Eduardo responds that he's doing what's necessary to protect his family. Sonny argues that his family needs protection from him. Gabi comes back so Sonny asks how Arianna took the news. Gabi cries that Arianna gave her a teddy bear to give to her mom and she made her promise to visit in Arizona but she isn't sure that will be possible. Will assures that she will see Arianna again. Gabi cries that she would never leave her unless she had to and she's so sorry. Will hugs Gabi as she cries and thanks him for understanding. Sonny hugs Gabi and assures she will always be connected to Arianna as they all love her. Will tells her to let them know when she's safe. Gabi tells Eduardo that there is one more person she has to say goodbye to as she thinks back to kissing Jake. Eduardo asks who but Gabi says it's none of his business. Eduardo asks her not to tell anyone else what's going on. Gabi agrees but says she's not leaving until she says goodbye to this one person. Gabi adds that Rafe is going to need time to say his goodbyes too. Gabi then exits and Eduardo follows her out of the mansion.

Rafe takes Hope to the interrogation room and they talk about trying to find Ciara. Hope tells him that she has Ciara's phone because Ben knocked it out of her hand. Hope knows if Ciara was safe, she would find a way to get in touch with her. Hope brings up the look on Ben's face when she found him and the terrifying things he said. Hope cries that she's never been so scared in her life. Rafe knows how much Ben loves Ciara and says there's no way anything Eve or Vincent could do will tear them apart. Hope tells Rafe that she called him and left a message, questioning if he got it. Rafe thinks back to Eduardo smashing his phone and telling him that he couldn't tell anyone. Rafe claims he got her message but couldn't pick up. Hope asks why not. Rafe reveals that his father was the one who broke in to his house and triggered the alarm. Rafe claims Eduardo had to see him because his mother is very sick so he wants him and Gabi to go back with him to Mexico to see their mother. Rafe declares he's not leaving now as he's not leaving Hope like this.

Chad asks Gwen if Jake broke up with her because she kissed him. Chad thought they liked to make each other jealous. Gwen says he likes to make her jealous so she wanted to get back at him but her plan backfired. Chad says it seems easy to fix but Gwen explains that it's not just about them kissing. Gwen then reveals that she found Jake in bed with Gabi which surprises Chad. Gwen adds that Jake now thinks he has a shot with Gabi.

Gabi goes home to the DiMera Mansion, looking at a photo of Arianna. Jake joins her in the living room and tells her that he and Gwen had it out and it didn't go well. Jake tells Gabi about Gwen breaking the antique vases. Jake adds that he's sorry for how Gwen attacked her and says she wasn't happy about them being in bed together but she still wanted to give him another chance. Jake informs Gabi that he told Gwen they were through. Jake knows what happened between them was unexpected and he has no idea where things are headed but he'd kind of like to find out so he hoped maybe she would too. Gabi turns to him with tears in her eyes so Jake asks what happened. Gabi claims that her mom is sick so she and Rafe have to go right now to be with her in Mexico. Jake tells her he's so sorry. Gabi tells Jake that this is goodbye.

Hope tells Rafe that his place is with his mom and she won't hear any argument. Rafe doesn't want to leave while Ciara is missing but Hope repeats that his mom needs him so that's where he needs to be. Hope adds that she has Shawn and Belle and Eli and Lani so she has a lot of support. Rafe says it's not just about that, but about them.

Jake questions Gabi saying goodbye and argues that it doesn't have to end just because she's leaving. Gabi says she doesn't know how long she will be away. Jake offers to go with her. Gabi argues that he doesn't understand. Jake says he can take care of her while she takes care of her mom. Jake insists that he wants to do this but Gabi tells him that he can't.

Chad thinks Gwen is freaking out for no reason because Gabi only slept with Jake to worm her way back into DiMera. Gwen says that's what she said but Jake is convinced there is something more. Gwen adds that Jake told her to move out and says she has no money and nowhere to go. Chad admits that's kind of harsh. Gwen brings up that she helped Chad spy on Gabi and brought him very important information that paid off and he said he owed her. Gwen asks Chad if she can stay at the mansion. Chad says he doesn't know. Gwen pleads with him. Chad then agrees to let her stay so she hugs him.

Gabi tells Jake not to be ridiculous as he's not coming with her. Gabi questions what he thinks is going on here and claims she only slept with him because he looks like Stefan and because she thought he could get her back in at DiMera. Jake doesn't buy that. Gabi claims she was using him to get back to being CEO of DiMera but now she has to put everything on hold. Jake argues that it's not forever and she'll come back. Gabi tells him not to wait for her. Jake tells Gabi to look him in the eyes and tell him that she doesn't feel anything. Gabi repeats that she was attracted to him because he looks like Stefan but she has no use for him anymore. Gabi adds that he will never take Stefan's place and suggests he go upstairs to try and patch things up with Gwen because she has to go.

Rafe reminds Hope that they talked about this and agreed to give it another shot. Rafe hates the idea of walking away from her. Hope assures that they will be fine, just like she knows in her heart that Ciara will be. Hope says when she brings Ciara home, she will tell her the good news and then when Rafe comes back, they will celebrate. Rafe says he won't stop thinking about her and he loves her. Hope says she loves him and then they kiss. Hope asks if Rafe is okay. Rafe claims that he is and says it's going to be okay. Rafe kisses Hope once more and then exits the room. Hope then breaks down crying. Rafe then exits the police station.
