Justin goes to the hospital and asks Sami about John. Sami informs him that he is still critical. Justin asks if Eric and Nicole are with him. Sami says they left and she doesn't know where they are. Justin decides to call them then but Sami thinks they should have a talk first.

Belle questions Nicole as to what Sami did to her father. Nicole reveals to Belle that when John collapsed, Sami was letting him have it about the custody suit. Belle says that doesn't make sense. Eric agrees and asks Nicole not to do this now but Belle demands to know what Sami said to John. Nicole informs Belle that Sami said John wasn't part of her family and that he meant nothing to her or her grandson. Belle argues that she couldn't have said that while Nicole knows it would kill him.

Rafe and Hope continue kissing in Eve's motel room.

Eve talks about Paige going to junior prom and says she would do anything to see her again or hear her voice so she then imagines Paige appearing before her. Eve exclaims that Paige is alive.

Ben brings Ciara to a dorm room. Ciara notes that the building is abandoned and asks why they had to dress up to come here. Ciara tries to guess why they came here but says she has no idea so she asks why he brought her here. Ben then reveals this is the room where he strangled Paige Larson. Ciara questions why he would want to bring her here. Ben responds that somebody wanted him to.

Rafe tells Hope he's sorry for kissing her, feeling he took advantage. Hope clarifies that she didn't feel taken advantage of. Rafe says that's good but he's still her boss, they are on duty, and they both agreed to be professional. Hope responds that she's not sure about that now.

Eve asks if Dr. Rolf gave Paige back to her. Paige clarifies that she's not real and is just a part of Eve's imagination. Eve worries that she's losing her mind. Paige says Eve was in terrible pain and needed her so here she is. She brings up telling Eve after her funeral, to forgive herself and not be angry for the rest of her life but she didn't listen to her. Paige knows what Eve is planning to do and calls it a horrible mistake that she will always regret.

Ciara asks Ben who told him to bring her here. Ben explains that he went to see Marlena, who referred him to another psychiatrist. Ben claims he met with him earlier and they had a long talk. Ciara asks why he didn't tell her. Ben says he wanted to but he said it would be better to just bring her here instead. Ciara questions a psychiatrist telling him to bring her here. Ben says it was to come back to the scene of the crime today. Ciara realizes today is the anniversary of Paige's death. Ben says he knew the dorm would be vacant after what happened.

Sami accuses Justin of trying to help Nicole steal her grandson. Justin says he's representing Nicole and Eric, just like Belle is representing her. Justin says it's just his job then wonders why he's trying to reason with her. Sami argues that they are in-laws so he can't pick sides. Justin brings up that Sonny and Will almost broke up because of her interference. Justin adds that they would've adopted Allie's baby if it wasn't for her. Sami asks if this is payback and says she won't let him get away with that.

Belle doesn't believe that Sami would say something like that to John because they worked out their stuff years ago and he thinks of her as his own daughter. Eric asks Nicole if she's sure about this. Nicole reveals that she heard Sami talking to Marlena about it. Eric questions her eavesdropping. Nicole explains that she went to the chapel to check on Marlena when Sami was in the middle of confessing. Eric points out that confessions are confidential. Nicole questions her being the one that's out of line when Sami is coming after them. Nicole argues that Sami will do anything to get what she wants.

Hope tells Rafe that she talked to Kayla and Jennifer about them. Hope knows it's still there between them but admits she's afraid of messing their friendship up. Rafe says he feels the same way. Hope tells him how much it means to her that he hired her and they are friends again in a really great place. Rafe tells her how much her friendship means to him. Rafe guesses they are dealing with their friendship and the pull between them. Rafe says he feels the pull too. Rafe asks what Jennifer and Kayla said about it. Hope tells him that they think she should give their relationship another chance. Hope adds that she talked to Shawn too and he asked if it'd be so terrible to give Rafe another shot. Rafe reveals that he talked to Ciara and Eli and they both said the same thing. Hope guesses the question is what do they think.

Ciara knows that when Ben said it was the anniversary of Paige's death, it really upset him. Ben says he spoke to the psychiatrist about it and he said he needed to own what he did. Ciara argues that he has. Ben feels it's not enough. Ciara questions if he's the one telling him that and says she doesn't like that. Ciara says alarms are going off about a guy who barely knows him telling him to bring her here. Ciara argues that the doctors at Bayview never suggested he do this. Ben argues that he has to be here because he said he has to atone for his sins. Ciara wants to go but Ben stops her and says he can't leave yet as there is one more thing he has to do today here.

Justin tells Sami that he's not taking the baby away from her as a judge will decide what's best for the child. Sami doesn't understand why he is taking Nicole's side. Justin says he read Allie's letter and she made it clear that she wants Eric and Nicole to raise her baby. Sami remarks that Allie doesn't know what she wants. Justin argues that Sami just can't accept that Allie doesn't want what she wants. Sami accuses Nicole of manipulating Allie. Justin mocks Sami not having faith in her daughter. Justin doesn't see a point in continuing the conversation. Sami says they will in court where Belle will wipe the floor with him. Justin asks if this isn't about the baby then, if it's about winning. Sami says it will be about both and walks out of the hospital.

Belle tells Nicole that Sami has been under a lot of stress so maybe she said some things to John that she regrets. Eric says that's why Sami told Marlena in private but there's no way she caused John's aneurysm. Nicole thinks it could've triggered something. Eric disagrees and says they aren't doctors so they need to stop blaming Sami. Nicole asks if he thinks she's being unfair or too harsh. Nicole argues that now that Sami confessed to Marlena, she will lie to everyone else. Nicole adds that Sami couldn't tell Belle because she needs her to represent her. Nicole repeats that Sami said those horrible things to John and then lied to Belle's face about it. Nicole asks if she really wants to represent someone like that.

Rafe jokes about he and Hope doing couples therapy on a stakeout. Hope says they've always done things their own way. Hope acknowledges how they both hate talking about their feelings. Rafe thinks they have figured out their feelings so the question is what are they going to do about it. Hope says they've worked really hard to get to a place where they can work together again. Rafe calls that great because they work so well together but there's still the pull. Hope admits they've never been able to handle or deny that. Rafe decides to think outside the box and suggests they give it another shot and focus on not messing it up. Hope asks if he think they can pull it off. Rafe knows how much he cares about her and he never wants to hurt her again. Rafe admits he's afraid too but they're being faced with a second chance so he thinks it'd be silly not to try. Hope thinks she has her answer too.

Eve tells her vision of Paige that she's not making a mistake and she's doing it all for her. Paige questions why she would want Ben brainwashed into killing Ciara. Eve argues that Ben is an evil human being who needs to pay for what he did. Paige argues that he has paid and thinks Eve has made him suffer enough. Eve disagrees and says Paige should be living a beautiful life now but instead Ben is living it. Eve complains about seeing Ben happy and alive which fills her with rage and makes her ill. Paige knows how much he has put her through and how she suffered because of what he did. Paige then asks what Ciara has ever done to her.

Ciara tells Ben they should talk somewhere else but Ben says he can't leave yet. Ciara asks what this doctor is telling him to do. Ben says it's something he doesn't want to do but he has to because he doesn't have a choice. Ciara argues that he does have a choice and he doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to do. Ciara encourages that Marlena will help him through this. Ciara questions what it is that Ben has to do and asks him to tell her. Ben responds that it's better if he shows her..

Sami goes home and tells Belle that she got hung up at the hospital but she will be ready. Belle asks how John is doing. Sami says he's still the same and she's sorry. Belle questions if she is sorry or if that's just another lie. Sami asks what she's talking about. Belle reveals that she knows what Sami said to John about how he's not part of her family and nothing to Allie's baby. Sami points out that she told Marlena not to say anything. Belle clarifies that she didn't and that Nicole told her.

Eve's vision of Paige tells Eve that Ciara has never done anything to hurt her. Eve argues that Ciara married an evil, vile man. Paige says he was mentally ill. Eve calls Ben a psychopath. Eve declares that when Ben kills Ciara, he will finally understand what he did to her. Paige questions Eve giving Hope the worst pain she ever felt. Eve suggests Hope won't be so quick to forgive Ben this time. Eve states that killing people is unforgivable. Paige brings up that her father was a paid assassin and how he later regretted it. Paige declares that it will haunt Eve when Ben kills Ciara on her orders.

Ben tells Ciara about how he killed Paige. He explains how he followed her to her dorm and broke in wearing a mask. He talks about chasing her to the bathroom and how she tried to get away. Ciara stops him and wants to go.

Nicole and Eric go to the courthouse. Nicole talks about how she knows Eric wishes they could all just agree to do what's right for the baby but Sami won't reason with them so they have to fight for the baby's sake. Eric thinks what Nicole is doing is about beating Sami and not what's best for the baby. Nicole sees how he could think that and admits part of it is true. Nicole says kids are everything to her and she wouldn't be doing this if she didn't think Allie was right that being with them is what's best for the baby. Nicole says she will love him like her own and wants him to have the best father in Eric. Eric kisses her until Justin walks in. Nicole tells Justin that she has news.

Sami calls Nicole a bitch for spying on her. Belle argues that it's not about Nicole but about what Sami said to John. Sami hates what she said and is going to apologize as soon as John wakes up. Belle argues that Sami always apologizes later but John still ended up in the hospital. Sami says she's sorry but it's not her fault. Sami adds that Marlena said it wasn't because of what she said. Belle argues about what Sami said to John. Sami blames it on being upset. Belle declares that now she's upset because that could end up being the last words John ever hears. Sami encourages that John will wake up. Belle remarks that she doesn't know that and might not even care. Sami says they don't have time to talk as they have to get to the hearing. Belle says she won't stand in her way because she's not going anywhere with her. Belle tells Sami to find a new attorney because she quits.

Rafe and Hope decide they are on the same page. Rafe wants to continue this conversation somewhere else. Rafe then gets a text that the alarm is going off at his house. Hope tells him to go ahead and she will wait here. Hope assures that she can handle Eve. Rafe says he'll send an officer to back her up. Rafe adds that he's never been this anxious to get off duty. Rafe kisses her hand as they say goodbye and Rafe then exits the room.

Ciara tries to drag Ben out of the dorm room but Ben says he can't leave yet and shuts the door. Ben doesn't want anyone to see him like this and asks how she can even look at him. Ben calls himself a monster. Ciara says they've gone over this a million times that he didn't know what he was doing. Ben says he was trying to frame Chad to keep Abigail to himself and nobody normal does that. Ciara argues that he was sick and he's better now. Ben asks how he's supposed to know if that version of him is still in there. Ciara suggests talking about it outside as she thinks it was a really bad idea to come here. Ciara tries to leave but Ben shuts the door and says they aren't going anywhere.

Nicole explains to Justin that there is a chance that Belle is so angry at Sami that she doesn't represent her. Eric asks what if Belle drops the case. Justin responds that Sami would have to ask for a continuance or forfeit the case. Justin adds that he thinks he can get the restraining order dismissed. Nicole asks if that means they could get custody until the case is settled. Justin says if there's not a strong argument. Nicole hopes they get lucky and Sami will just give up.

Sami argues that Belle can't just quit on her when the hearing is about to start. Belle tells her that she needs to go see her father at the hospital. Sami argues that Belle is just being spiteful for what she said. Belle says she should've thought about that before she lied to her and everyone. Sami claims she was going to tell her the truth. Belle says it would be after she got what she wanted. Belle argues that Sami wanted to keep her in the dark because she thought she would drop the case if she knew and she was right. Belle then exits.

Rafe goes home and finds someone in a hood looking at a framed photo of Rafe and Gabi.

Hope reads an article about how Paige was strangled in her dorm room. Hope then calls an officer and says she needs to take off because she thinks she knows where Eve is.

Eve tells her vision of Paige that Ben is getting exactly what he deserves and tells her not to make her feel guilty about that. Paige argues that she knows she's right. Eve says she has to do this because she failed Paige so many times so she has to do this to make it up to her because she loves her so much. Paige says she loves her too but she knows this is wrong. Eve says she can't help herself. Paige responds that she never could so all she can do now is pray for her soul. The vision of Paige says goodbye and disappears, leaving Eve crying.

Ben locks the door and has flashbacks to being tortured by Eve and Vincent. Ciara questions what he's doing. Ben tells her they can't leave yet. Ciara asks why not. Ben repeats that he doesn't want to do this to her. Ciara asks what he's doing. Ben declares he has to do this and he doesn't have a choice. Ben states that he has to kill her as Ciara looks down at the necktie in his hands.

Nicole points out that it's time and the judge will be there any second. Eric hopes Sami is dropping the case. Sami then arrives and calls Nicole a bitch. Nicole asks where Belle is. Sami informs her that thanks to her, Belle dropped the case. Justin asks if Sami is here to withdraw her case. Sami responds that she will represent herself and win.

Rafe pulls his gun and the man in the hood turns around, revealing Rafe's father, Eduardo.

Eve breaks down crying at Paige's grave until Hope appears.

Ciara questions what Ben is talking about. Ben responds that he has to kill her. Ciara cries that he doesn't and pleads with him not to. Ben tells her that he's so sorry..
