Jack and Jennifer go to Rafe's office at the police station, asking for an update on the search for Eve. Rafe reminds them that he can't comment on an ongoing investigation. Jack tells him they aren't here for the Spectator, this is personal. Jennifer adds that the quicker they get Eve behind bars, the better, because they know better than anyone what a vindictive witch she is.

Eve goes through a box of Paige's belongings in her hotel room. She puts on a necklace from it and say she still misses Paige so much. Vincent enters the room as Eve talks about how it was six years ago today. Vincent comments that Eve is dressed for a funeral. Eve responds that she's dressed for a celebration, because today Ben Weston is going to feel her pain.

Ben wakes up from a nightmare about Eve strangling Ciara. Ciara wakes up next to him and asks if he's okay.

Hope joins Marlena in an empty hospital room, folding John's clothes, causing her to believe John died.

Steve is at the hospital, on the phone with Sami, telling her that he knows she wants to be there for Marlena but everyone knows she has to stay with Allie's baby. Steve says as soon as they know something, someone will call her. Steve hangs up and asks Kayla how John's surgery went. Kayla informs that John made it through and is in recovery. Steve hugs her and thanks her.

Marlena informs Hope that John is still with them and he's out of surgery so she's just waiting for him to come back. Hope thought Belle was with her. Marlena explains that Belle was exhausted so she asked Shawn to take her home to rest. Hope asks if Marlena has slept at all. Marlena says she will not rest until she knows John is okay. Hope tells her that she's here if she can help.

Steve tells Kayla that he knew John would pull through and asks when he can see him. Kayla wants Steve to understand that John is not out of the woods as there are so many factors and they won't know the full impact of the aneurysm until or if he wakes up. Steve asks if John is going to wake up and be okay. Kayla admits they don't know. Hope comes over and asks Kayla how it went. Kayla says it was good as could be expected. Hope asks what she can do to help. Steve suggests Hope take Kayla to get something to eat while he stays at the hospital. Steve says he'll call when John wakes up. Kayla agrees to go and exits with Hope.

Rafe tells Jack and Jennifer that this is off the record but no leads have panned out. Rafe says he's brought Hope back in and she's chasing down every lead, assuring they won't stop until Eve is where she belongs. Jennifer warns that he better do it soon before Eve hurts someone else..

Ciara asks Ben about his nightmare. Ben says it just slips away and he doesn't know. Ciara is pretty sure it has a lot to do with what Eve and Vincent did to him. Ciara reminds Ben about his scheduled appointment with Marlena this morning and she hopes Marlena can help him. Ben then brings up that six years ago today, he murdered Eve's daughter.

Eve tells Vincent that it's finally happening and on no better day than today. Eve is so excited to get justice for her daughter. Eve declares that she's come up with a way to make her revenge against Ben even sweeter. Vincent tells her that he's all ears.

Ben tells Ciara that he never wants to forget how much pain he caused people and says if their pain goes on forever then maybe his should too. Ciara suggests he finally forgive himself. Ben used to think that was possible but now he realizes there is no forgiving the damage he has done. Ciara argues that he was sick and a different person back then. Ciara tells him not to let Eve and Vincent doubt that he's an amazing person. Ben suggests he deserves whatever they do. Ciara tells him that's over and that Eve will get caught and sent to prison so Ben is safe and free. Ciara declares that no person that loves him will ever let Eve hurt him again, especially her.

Jack and Jennifer go to the Brady Pub. Jack finishes a call with a contact at the police department, who confirms what Rafe told them. Jennifer worries about Eve not being found while Jack assures that she will be. Kayla and Hope enter the Pub so Jack and Jennifer invite them to join their table. They ask about Kayla performing surgery. Hope informs them that they have news about John.

John is in a hospital bed after surgery while Marlena sits at his side, encouraging that so many people love him and are praying for his recovery. Steve enters the room and asks if there's anything he can do for Marlena. Marlena asks him to sit with John so she can go cancel all her appointments in her office because she wants to be there when John wakes up. Steve tells her to go ahead so Marlena exits. Steve sits with John and brings up Kayla saying he might not wake up but he doesn't believe that for a second.

Ciara goes to Rafe's office and asks if he has any news on Eve. Rafe says not yet but Hope is chasing down every lead so he's hopeful. Ciara says she needs more because she's terrified and extremely worried about Ben as he doesn't remember what Eve and Vincent did to him and he's not acting like himself lately. Ciara is scared that what they put him through affected Ben more than he realizes and he won't be okay until Eve is caught and behind bars.

Eve goes through old photos of Paige until her phone rings. Eve answers and says she should've know she would hear from them today.

Ben goes to Marlena's office for his appointment and says he really appreciates her taking the time to see him. Marlena apologizes as she was about to call and cancel but there's so much going on with John. Ben asks what happened with John.

Kayla tells Jack and Jennifer that John's surgery was a success but they won't know the extent of the damage until he wakes up. Kayla adds that Steve is there with him now. Jack decides he should go be there for Steve. Kayla agrees since Steve plays tough but John's recovery is unknown so Steve is pretty shaken.

Steve tells John that this is not the way it ends as heroes don't die in a hospital bed hooked up to machines. Steve calls John a hero. Steve adds that he'll never admit to this but John is his hero. Steve tells John that he needs him to wake up.

Marlena informs Ben that John had an aneurysm and is just coming out of surgery now. Ben asks how he is. Marlena explains that he's still unconscious so they won't know anything until he wakes up. Marlena apologizes for cancelling again. Ben understands she has to be with John and asks how she's doing. Marlena says she's okay. Ben brings up Marlena sitting on his side at his wedding and making him feel like he actually had family. Ben states that family is always there for each other so he asks Marlena to let him be there for her. Marlena cries as Ben hugs her.

Kayla talks about Marlena taking care of everyone else and forgets about herself. Jennifer can't imagine what she's going through. Kayla asks about Eve. Jennifer says she and Jack were just at the police station with Rafe but he said there are no new leads. Hope assures that she won't stop until Eve is arrested. Kayla says it's so good that Hope is back on the force. Jennifer asks if it's been weird at all with Rafe. Hope says it's not as they are friends and in a great place so she couldn't be happier. Jennifer says she meant because Hope was Rafe's boss and now he is her boss but she went straight to talking about being friends so she asks if there's something going on with Hope and Rafe.

Rafe assures Ciara that with Hope on the case, Eve behind bars is a done deal because when Hope wants something, she gets it. Ciara jokes with him. Rafe assures that his relationship with Hope is strictly professional. Ciara jokes that Rafe is blushing.

Hope insists that her and Rafe are just colleagues and that's it. Jennifer believes there is definitely more going on. Kayla says Hope might as well tell them. Hope jokes that they are back in high school and admits they hugged but it was just Rafe welcoming her back to the police force. They ask if there was anything else. Hope admits Rafe came to fix her washer. Jennifer talks about something being different with Rafe when they were at the station. Hope assures that she and Rafe are in a good place and so happy to be past the anger and sadness of their divorce. Hope says they are friends and thinks they should leave it alone but Kayla and Jennifer disagree.

Rafe appreciates Ciara asking about his relationship with Hope but says it's making him uncomfortable. Ciara apologizes and feels like she was walking in more than Rafe just welcoming Hope back to the force. Ciara promises not to pry anymore but she has to ask if there is something. Rafe admits there's definitely something but he doesn't know if Hope feels the same way that he does. Ciara brings up a classmate that she had a crush on in 7th grade and she was terrified to make a move until Rafe told her to go for it. Rafe points out that he turned her down and he feels terrible about it. Ciara tells him that the point is at least she knew. Ciara says that he helped her get the courage to go for it back then so now she wants to do that for him.

Kayla asks since when is Hope a coward. Jennifer agrees that Hope has to pursue and ask Rafe how he feels because what they had was amazing. Kayla encourages that the spark is still there and tells Hope to trust her feelings. Kayla mentions just leaving John in his hospital room and calls that proof that now is the time. Jennifer tells Hope to get over herself and go for it.

Jack joins Steve in John's hospital room. Jack asks if Steve minds if he sits with him. Steve tells him it's alright. Jack says he knows John was more of a brother to Steve than he ever was, but he's here for him. Steve agrees that John is his brother but says Jack is his brother too.

Marlena apologizes for Ben, saying it's inappropriate. Ben disagrees and calls it what a friend would do. Marlena asks how Ben is. Ben admits he can't seem to shake the feeling that something's not right and not remembering what Eve and Vincent did to him freaks him out. Marlena is sorry she can't work it through with him. Ben feels he's taken enough of her time and she needs to be with John so they will reschedule. Marlena admits she's concerned about him. Marlena recommends Ben someone else to call. Ben then flashes back to when Vincent was in Marlena's office. Marlena asks if he's remembering something. Ben says it makes zero sense but he a sense of deja vu when Marlena mentioned him talking to someone else. Marlena wants to take some time but Ben says he's taken enough of her time. Ben agrees to call her recommended doctor today and he hopes John gets well soon. Ben then hurries out of the office.

Ciara asks Rafe to at least talk to Hope. Rafe tells her that Hope just got back to the force and they are in a good place so he doesn't want to screw that up. Ciara encourages him to talk to her and says it's because she loves him so much. Ciara calls Rafe the best stepdad ever and says there's no better man for her mom. Rafe promises to think about it. Ciara tells him to find Eve as she then exits his office.

Eve answers the call from Eduardo, Paige's father. Eve doesn't want to hear it from him and says it's been six years to the day since Paige died and he's done nothing. Eve argues that she doesn't need his help or his sympathy. Eve declares that she'll never be okay until Ben pays for what he did and hangs up.

Ben returns to his room where Vincent appears inside.

After Hope leaves the Pub, Kayla and Jennifer wonder if she will listen to them. They think Rafe feels the same as Hope. Kayla hopes they don't waste another second. Kayla has to get back to the hospital to check on John. Jennifer decides to go with her to show John and Marlena love and support so they exit the Pub.

Steve tells Jack that he's glad he's here. Marlena enters and asks if there's been any change. Steve says not so far and that he was just telling Jack some Black Patch stories. Steve jokes that John will wake up and tell him to shut up.

Hope goes to Rafe's office and tells him they need to talk. Rafe agrees.

Ben questions what Vincent is doing here and tells him to get out of his room. Vincent says he's not going anywhere. Ben threatens to call the cops but Vincent says he will obey him just like last time. Vincent says he will do exactly what he tells him to do and how he tells him to do it.

After Steve and Jack leave the room, Marlena sits with John and says she has more memories with him than anyone as they've had an amazing life and they have more in their future. Marlena tells John that she needs him to wake up and come back to her so they can keep on making more amazing memories as she hugs him.

Kayla and Jennifer go to the hospital and ask Steve and Jack if everything is okay. Steve says they're fine as he hugs Kayla and Jack hugs Jennifer.

Rafe's phone rings before he and Hope can talk. Rafe answers and then tells Hope that he knows where Eve is.

Eve sits in her hotel room and says for Paige that it's only a matter of time before she makes Ben's life a living hell.

Vincent asks Ben if he's clear about what he needs to do.

Ciara walks the hall of the Salem Inn and calls Claire, leaving a message that Rafe said the police are still looking for Eve and Vincent. Ciara remarks that they better hope the police catch them because if she sees them first, she swears she will kill them. Ciara then goes to enter her room where Vincent is inside with Ben..

Marlena tells John that everyone is praying for him and they love him so much. John then crashes and starts having a seizure as his monitors start beeping.
