Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 8/5/20

Kayla goes home while finishing a call to check on a patient. Steve then shows up at the door with flowers, reminding her that he's moving in.

Justin is sitting in the town square on his laptop when Bonnie walks by, complaining on the phone that they had a contract and can't do this to her. Bonnie gets hung up and slams her phone. She tells Justin that he won't believe what just happened to her.

Allie tells Will and Sonny that she's sorry but she's not signing the adoption papers. Sonny asks what she means and if she decided to give the baby to Rafe after all.

Sami questions Rafe as to what Allie wanted to talk to him about. Rafe explains that she wanted more information as to why he turned her down so he told her the truth.

Ciara and Hope arrive at Daybreak Clinic and find that it seems totally abandoned. Ciara finds the tie that Ben wore to their wedding outside where Ben had fallen when he tried to escape earlier. Hope and Ciara then head in to the main room where they find Ben unconscious on the floor. Ciara rushes to his side to check on him.

Sami asks Rafe what exactly he said to Allie. Rafe says he told her that Sami came to him and asked him not to adopt her grandchild. Sami remarks that Allie already knew that since Nicole couldn't keep her mouth shut. Sami asks what else they talked about. Rafe says that Allie wanted to know if he would've said yes if Sami had not interfered. Sami asks what his answer was.

Allie explains that she and Rafe just had a nice talk since Rafe was honest with her about Sami pressuring him not to adopt her baby so she wanted to hear his side of the story. Allie flashes back to asking Rafe if he would've adopted her baby if not for Sami and asking him to be honest with her. Rafe admitted he might have said yes. Allie told him that settled it and that she wanted him to adopt her baby. Sonny asks Allie if that means Rafe is adopting her baby but Allie reveals he is not.

Ciara checks on Ben and confirms that he's still alive as he is breathing but not responding. Hope tries to call for help but can't get service.

Kayla tells Steve that her patient is doing better and she just got home. Steve mentions not sleeping much either because he was missing her so much. Kayla says she missed him too as they kiss. Kayla thought he had second thoughts about moving in which she would understand. Steve repeats that he doesn't care where he lives, as long as he's with her.

Bonnie tells Justin about her contract saying she's not getting her royalties because she didn't sell enough books. Bonnie complains that she's getting screwed over. Justin points out that she signed the contract. Bonnie says she was tricked and calls it fraud. Bonnie remarks that she just has to find a lawyer to sue them and just wishes she knew one. Justin stops her and says no.

Sami questions Rafe still saying no to adopting Allie's baby which he confirms. Sami asks why. Rafe thinks back to talking to Allie. He said it was true that he wasn't over losing David and that he might have said yes to Allie but he's thought about it and realized he would've been saying yes for the wrong reasons so it would've been a mistake. Rafe said that to adopt Allie's baby because he's still grieving losing David would be wrong and that Allie already told Will and Sonny they could adopt the baby. Allie said that was only because he said no and he was always her first choice. Allie pleaded with him to say yes but Rafe felt it was too complicated and didn't feel right. Allie blamed Sami but said it didn't have to be complicated between them. Rafe told her there were other peoples' feelings involved so he thought it was better for everyone if he just took a step back. Rafe told Allie that he's sorry but the answer was still no.

Sonny tells Allie that Rafe is just trying to do what he thinks is the right thing but questions if Allie is not giving him the baby then why isn't she giving it to them. Allie responds that it's because of Will. Sonny questions what he did. Allie argues that Will said he was on her side no matter what to protect her from Sami but he was in on it the whole time. Sonny asks what she's talking about. Allie declares that all this time, Will and Sami were plotting behind her back to make sure that Rafe didn't get her baby.

Ciara sees that Ben stops breathing and begins to give him CPR which revives him. Ben wakes up and asks if it's really Ciara. Ciara tells him that she's here and he's going to be okay as she hugs him. Hope asks if Ben is okay. Ciara asks what happened and how he ended up like this.

Kayla suggests getting Steve settled and unpacked. Steve sees their old wedding photo and asks where it came from. Kayla guesses Justin found it in the drawer when he moved out. Kayla mentions coming across it when she was putting things away when Justin moved in as she was determined to move ahead but she couldn't bring herself to throw it away because she knew she could never let him go as they kiss.

Justin tells Bonnie that she can't think he would ever represent her. Bonnie argues that everyone knows he's the best lawyer in town and she needs the best. Justin tells her to forget it as there's no way he would ever take her case. Bonnie says this isn't personal, it's business, and talks about what it would do for his reputation. Bonnie knows she deserves his hatred and scorn for pretending to be Adrienne and she's so sorry. Justin says he's heard all that before. Bonnie pleads with him to read her book about how the guilt ate her alive and she's full of remorse. Bonnie offers Justin a free copy of her book but he refuses to help her or forgive her. Justin declares that he can never get the time he lost with Adrienne back because of her.

Hope asks Ben what happened and who did this to him. Ben responds that he doesn't remember and doesn't know. Ben asks if this isn't a dream. Ciara confirms she's really here. Ben asks where they are. Hope tells him they are outside Manhattan. Ben doesn't understand how he got here and what happened. Hope wants to get Ben checked out so she goes outside to try to get cell phone service. Ben repeats that he doesn't know how he got here or what happened. Ciara tells him not to worry because she's here and they are going to figure it out together as she hugs him.

Hope tries to get cell service when she runs in to Vincent outside.

Ben asks Ciara why he doesn't remember anything. Ciara tells him that it's okay as he's been through something incredibly traumatic. Ciara suggests starting at the beginning and asks if he remembers their wedding. Ben says there's no way he would ever forget as they flash back to the wedding. Ben recalls walking down the aisle together and they were so happy as he calls it the best day of his life. Ben remembers reaching out to Ciara and her walking towards him, then the world blew up. Ben asks if everybody is okay from the explosion. Ciara tells him that everyone is fine and they were all just looking for him as they couldn't find him, like he had just vanished. Ciara asks if he has any idea how he got here.

Hope guesses who Vincent is and says she needs to talk to him about Eve Donovan and what he did to Ben. Vincent responds that he doesn't have to answer her questions but Hope stops him and says they need to talk.

Steve and Kayla recall their wedding as Kayla says they are now about to start a whole new life together again.

Bonnie tells Justin that she knows how deeply she hurt him and that she spent years in prison paying for it. Justin says it wasn't nearly long enough. Bonnie says she regrets what she did every day and she's still paying for it as her daughter barely speaks to her and Lucas has given her the boot for good. Bonnie cries that her book was the only thing she had left in her life that gave her hope. Bonnie shows her the business card she had made and said writing the book was the hardest thing she ever did but she finally had something to be proud of and now it's being taken from her again.

Sami is relieved that Rafe told Allie that he doesn't want to adopt her baby and says he has no idea how much that means to her as she thanks him. Rafe clarifies that he didn't do it for her, he did it for himself and Allie as she's about to make the biggest decision of her life and now she has all the facts.

Sonny argues that Will wasn't scheming with Sami as he wouldn't do that since they both agreed they would respect Allie's choice. Sonny says this is crazy and not true, asking who told her this. Allie tells him that it was Rafe as she flashes back to her conversation with him again. Allie told Rafe that it was bad enough that Sami lied to her and then forced other people to lie too. Rafe then told her that it wasn't Will's fault because Sami forced him to stay quiet. Allie said she was talking about Lucas and couldn't believe Will knew too. Allie explains that it wasn't like Rafe threw Will under the bus because he wouldn't do that but Rafe thought she was talking about him. Sonny asks what is going on here. Allie states that all this time, Will said he was on her side but he's been plotting with Sami to make sure Rafe didn't get her baby. Sonny turns to Will and asks if this is true. Allie argues that Will knew what Sami was doing and never said anything while she thought he was the only person in their family that she could trust, but the whole time all he cared about was getting the baby for him and Sonny.

Sami questions what else Rafe told Allie. Rafe explains that he thought Allie knew that Will knew what Sami did. Sami can't believe he told Allie and that she's going to be furious. Rafe wants to give Will a heads up but Sami tells him it's a bit late for that.

Allie can't believe her own brother would play her and asks how he could be so selfish. Sonny asks Will if it's true. Will tells Sonny that he's sorry and assures Allie that Sonny knew nothing about it. Allie questions Will lying to his own husband just to get what he wanted. Allie asks why she would give her baby to someone like him. Will argues that he didn't mean to lie to her or Sonny. Allie thought he was different but says he's worse than Sami because he came in with his good guy act. Will apologizes but Allie says it's too late and not good enough. Will wants to explain but Sonny shouts that it's very clear to both of them what happened. Sonny tells Allie that he's so sorry and storms out of the room. Allie then tells Will to get out so he exits.

Steve tells Kayla that he remembers something else about their wedding photo and thinks back to Kayla showing it to him to try to remind him of who he was when he had been brainwashed into being Stefano. Steve says he only remembers bits and pieces of that time but he's ashamed of all of it. Kayla tells him that's in the past but Steve doesn't know if it will ever be in the past for him. Kayla assures that none of it was his fault and she forgives him. Kayla hugs him as Steve thanks her.

Vincent tells Hope to get out of his way but she says she's not going anywhere. Vincent argues that this is his property so she's trespassing. Hope tells him there's a badly beaten man inside and asks what Vincent did to him. Hope asks if he knows about the bombing at the church in Salem. Vincent argues that she has no authority here. Hope responds that she has the authority to make a citizens arrest. Vincent warns that would be a very big mistake. Vincent reaches out to grab Hope but she takes him down.

Ben tells Ciara that he's not sure what he remembers. Ciara suggests looking around to try to trigger his memory of how he got here and what happened after he got there. Ben tells her that he woke up alone and he was tied up. Ben asks how she found him. Ciara tells him that a lot of people were worried about him and they all helped her and Hope track him down. Ciara adds that they found out that this place belongs to a man named Vincent. Ciara asks if Vincent is familiar to him. Ben remembers Vincent being in the room with him and saying he was the one who planted the bomb in the church. Ben says he asked why and Vincent said somebody hired him then started beating him with a baton until somebody else walked into the room. Ciara asks Ben if it was Eve Donovan.

Hope handcuffs Vincent and leaves him laying on the ground.

Ciara tells Ben that they found a connection between Eve and Vincent. Ben confirms that Eve was there. Ciara asks if he remembers what Eve said to him. Ben says he can't remember as it's a jumbled mess. Ben tells her that he remembers her hate, her rage, and what he deserved. Ben adds that Eve said something about getting justice for her daughter and finding a way to make him pay. Ciara asks how Eve was going to make him pay. Ben cries about being unable to remember anything. Ciara tells him it's okay. Ben stops and says he does remember Eve sticking him with a syringe and that's when it all went dark. Ben tells her that he's sorry he can't remember anything else. Ciara says all that matters is that he's here, they are okay, and nothing is ever going to come between them again as they kiss.

Steve bets Kayla hasn't eaten so he's going to make her an omelette while Kayla puts her flowers in a vase. Steve declares that his mission from now on is to take care of her. Kayla says she loves him for that even if it's completely unnecessary. Kayla asks if he's sure that starting their new life in this place will work for him.

Bonnie cries that Justin doesn't care and she doesn't expect him to so she might as well go back to cleaning houses. Bonnie says he can tell Maggie she's available if she would hire her again.

Rafe tells Sami that he's really sorry. Sami says it's not his fault but Allie will use it as another reason to be ticked off at her. Will goes after Sonny but Sonny tells him there's nothing more to talk about. Sonny tells Will to stay away from him as he gets on the elevator to leave the hospital. Sami goes over and asks Will if he's okay. Will responds that he's not okay and it's Sami's fault.

Steve says Kayla keeps asking him if starting their life here works for him but asks what about her. Steve says it's hard for him to say but he knows she felt love for Justin. Steve knows their love is as strong as ever but this can't be an easy transition for her so he wants her to take it easy and slow. Steve tells her that where ever she wants to live is fine with him. Kayla thanks him and they kiss.

Justin tells Bonnie that she made her bed and has to lie in it. Bonnie asks if it's right that she's getting screwed over and then storms off. Justin takes a deep breath and then looks at the contract she left.

Will tells Sami that Allie knows that he kept quiet about her pressuring Rafe and now she does not want he and Sonny to adopt her child. Sami tries to apologize. Will asks why he kept his mouth shut and what he was thinking. Sami offers to talk to Allie but Will says no. Will tells her how excited they were when they got there and saw the baby that they thought would be their son. Sami says she had no idea she would mess this up for him so badly but says he and Allie can fix it. Will tells her that it's over and that Allie hates him while his husband is devastated because he betrayed him.

Sonny walks through the town square where Justin greets him and asks what's wrong. Sonny informs him that Allie did not sign the adoption papers so they are not getting the baby.

Allie rips up the adoption papers as Rafe enters her room and asks what she's doing. Allie tells him that the adoption is off. Allie says she tried so hard to make the right decision but it's a disaster. Rafe says he's sorry but Allie remarks that he's not sorry enough to want her baby. Rafe doesn't think that's the answer. Allie asks what is if Rafe doesn't want her kid and she's not giving her baby to her lying brother so she asks what she is supposed to do.

Hope returns to outside the clinic and finds Vincent is gone.

Ciara tells Ben that she was so worried about him and she doesn't know what she would've done if she didn't find him. Ben tells her that she did it. Ciara says when Hope gets back, they are taking him home. They say they love each other and kiss. Ciara promises everything will be okay. They hug and Ben sees the neck tie on the floor behind her.
