Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 7/1/20

Claire and Ciara go to Ciara's room after shopping for wedding dresses. They brought multiple dresses for Ciara to try on. Claire tells her that whatever she needs, she's going to make it happen. Claire gives her word that she will do everything she can to make sure Ciara and Ben have the most memorable wedding ever.

Ben and Jake work on a motorcycle at the garage. Ben asks Jake what's up with him. Jake guesses he's a little distracted. Ben asks if it has to do with a particular woman. Jake informs him that Gwen might want to get back together which Ben questions. Jake says with Gwen, things can be really good but eventually something always messes it up. Ben points out that at least he got past the most recent problem since Gwen returned the book to him. Jake says they got past that problem but then Gabi happened.

Gabi complains to Rafe about the DNA test results not being done yet. Rafe encourages her to be patient. Gabi says when she gets the results, her life is going to change. Rafe says that's if it's the results she wants. Gabi argues that the results have to confirm the truth that her husband is truly still alive.

Eli, Lani, and Marlena question the sound of glass breaking from the kitchen. Abe and Valerie plan to go check it out but Julie tells everyone to calm down and insists it was just her good dinner plates hitting the floor. Julie blames a clumsy caterer but then suddenly Vivian Alamain emerges from the kitchen, shocking everyone. Julie questions how she got in and what she's doing here. Vivian responds that she wasn't invited to the wedding so she had no choice but to crash. Lani says this can't be happening but Vivian says it is. Vivian asks if they really thought she'd miss this day. Julie argues that she's not welcome here and is not going to stop the wedding. Vivian remarks that it seems she already has. Vivian questions if Lani thought she was going to get away with killing her son. Abe responds that his daughter did not murder her son. Vivian accuses them all of being complicit for celebrating the wedding of a killer to a bastard who exonerated her. Julie calls for someone to get Vivian out of here. Vivian declares that the only person who will pay the ultimate price is the woman who put a bullet in her son. Eli starts to approach her but Vivian pulls a gun on him.

Ciara tries on a wedding dress and says she loves it. Ciara asks Claire's opinion. Claire responds that she hates it and thinks it's basic so Ciara decides against it. Claire claims she's only trying to help her make the perfect choice, joking that if she does anything to screw up her wedding, they both know Ben will kill her. Ciara tells her not to say that. Claire argues that it's true and says that Ben threatened her so she's not taking any chances.

Jake tells Ben about Gabi slapping Gwen and them fighting until Rafe showed up to take Gabi to court. Jake wonders if Gabi is trying to make the judge think she's nuts with her Stefan theory so that he will send her to the mental institution instead of prison. Jake hopes she gets what she deserves. Ben admits he's not a fan of Gabi but acknowledges that she's had it rough. Ben talks about Stefan looking past everything with Gabi when they fell in love. Ben says Gabi being so desperate to believe Jake is Stefan would make her life make sense again. Jake calls it crazy but Ben says that won't stop her.

Rafe knows how much Gabi wants Stefan to be alive but reminds her that he was declared brain dead and his heart was given to Julie. Gabi argues that Rafe just doesn't want Stefan to be alive. Rafe just doesn't want her to be gutted again if Jake is just a guy who is a mechanic. Gabi insists that Dr. Rolf admitted to bringing Stefan back to life. Rafe questions her putting her trust in Rolf after everything he did to her. Gabi says she trusts what she feels in her soul and when she saw Jake, she knew it was Stefan. Rafe doesn't want her heart to be broken all over again but Gabi insists it will be whole again. Gabi declares that the test results will prove everyone wrong.

Marlena knows Vivian is mourning the loss of her son but says this is not the way to handle this. Vivian argues that it's the only way and that Marlena should understand the psychology of vengeance. Vivian says they thought they were coming to a wedding when it's now an execution. Vivian asks Abe if he's ready to give his daughter away for keeps. Eli steps forward so Vivian fires a shot towards the ceiling and remarks that she thought he was smarter than that. Abe tells her that he almost lost his son to a bullet so he understands her pain and knows how hard forgiveness is but this kind of revenge won't end her suffering. Vivian says she's feeling pretty damn good right now. Abe begs her to spare Lani's life because she meant Stefan no harm and asks her to let Lani live. Eli discretely sends a text message to Rafe.

Rafe gets Eli's text that says he needs him at the wedding now. Gabi remarks that maybe Lani dumped him at the altar again. Rafe says something's up so he's gotta go and exits.

Ciara questions Claire saying that Ben threatened her. Claire informs her that when they were in the town square and Ciara got a call, Ben let her have it. Ciara guesses he didn't say he was gonna kill her. Claire admits she may be exaggerating but he was really intense and it freaked her out. Ciara brings up Ben saying he would give her a second chance. Claire apologizes for bringing it up and says it's not important. Claire understands that Ben doesn't fully trust her yet but she's determined to show everyone that all she wants to do is make everyone's life better and happier. Claire then suggests Ciara try on more of the wedding dresses.

Ben asks if Jake is taking Gwen to his wedding as his date. Jake says hell no as even if they got back together, marriage is not on the table for them so he doesn't want her getting any ideas. Gabi then enters the garage. Jake asks why she isn't in prison or the psych ward. Gabi informs him that she was acquitted because there's no proof she did anything wrong. Jake is shocked and argues that she tried to fry his brain. Gabi insists that Dr. Rolf lied to her and framed her and the judge obviously believed her too. Jake remarks that she's now free until her next crime. Jake says that he and Ben have to get back to fixing the motorcycle and tells Gabi to go. Gabi suggests Jake might want to come with her because the DNA test results are in and she's going to the hospital to get them. Jake asks why he would give a damn. Gabi responds that he could find out that he's about to be a very rich and powerful man with a very amazing wife and not some stupid mechanic. Gabi knows he doesn't believe her but says once the results are in, he will have to accept it.

Vivian tells Abe no to letting his daughter live. Lani knows she hates her and blames her and will never forgive her for what she did to her son. Lani says she's so sorry for her loss and she deeply regrets that she's the one responsible. Lani pleads with Vivian to think about what she's doing because if she pulls the trigger, she won't just be getting revenge on her as she's pregnant so she wouldn't be just killing her, but her unborn child. Lani asks if that's really what Vivian wants to do.

Ciara picks out her wedding dress and says it's perfect, thanking Claire for convincing her to try it on. Claire tells her that she looked like an angel in it and that it will take Ben's breath away. Claire offers to go get tea and celebrate. Ciara says she'd love to but she has a report due in the morning and other things to do so she doesn't even have time to bring the dresses back to the shop. Claire decides to take them since she has nothing better to do and assures it's no problem. Ciara thanks Claire for everything as they hug. Claire says that's what maid of honors are for..

Jake tells Gabi that he will pass on going with her as he doesn't want to see the test results. Gabi argues that it could change his life but Jake says he likes his life the way it is. Gabi questions if he means with Gwen. Ben decides he's going to take a break and he'll be back in a little bit so he exits. Jake blames Gabi for scaring Ben off. Gabi argues that Jake is the one scared about the test results. Jake suggests she could've paid someone off. Gabi insists the results are legit and says she would never bribe someone. Jake remarks that nothing is beneath her. Jake suggests that because he looks like her dead husband, she just wants him in bed with her. Gabi then slaps Jake.

Rafe rushes to Julie's Place but the door is locked.

Valerie pleads with Vivian that Eli and Lani already lost one baby. Julie asks Vivian to spare Lani and the baby's life. Vivian questions asking her for anything when Lani took her son from her. Vivian says empty words and excuses won't save her. Vivian loads the gun and declares this is the end.

Ben goes home to his and Ciara's room at the Salem Inn. Ciara jokes that he should've knocked because she was trying on wedding dresses and him seeing her in one is bad luck. Ben argues that there's no such thing as bad luck for them as they kiss. Ben asks if Ciara said yes to the dress which she confirms she did. Ciara informs him that Claire actually found it and calls the dress one of a kind like a dream. Ben is glad Claire came through for her. Ciara assures that Claire really is trying and has been so sweet so she thanks Ben for giving her a chance. Ben says it's whatever she wants. Ciara wonders why Ben is home in the middle of the day. Ben informs her that Jake got sidetracked so he figured he'd give him time and help Ciara with wedding favors. Ben tells Ciara that Gabi came by with the news that she was acquitted but she was mostly there to tell Jake that the DNA test results are ready so soon he will find out if he really is good old Jake Lambert, garage mechanic, or the hugely powerful Stefan DiMera. Ciara asks if Jake even cares or just calling Gabi crazy and obsessive. Ben knows Jake pretends to not care but he thinks deep down he wants to know the truth.

Jake questions Gabi slapping him. Gabi calls him deluded if he thinks she would fake DNA results because she's attracted to him. Gabi says she wants nothing to do with Jake Lambert, she wants her husband back. Gabi declares that she's going to get the test result and if he's not Stefan, she will never step foot in the garage again, but if he is Stefan then she will be back. Gabi then walks out of the garage.

Rafe bursts in to Julie's Place and grabs Vivian, telling her that it's over as he removes her gun from her hands and handcuffs her. Rafe reads Vivian's rights and arrests her. Vivian shouts that this isn't over and they'll never be safe. Rafe warns her about threats of violence and adds that she almost murdered someone for no reason because it appears her son might actually be alive. Vivian calls that impossible and asks if it's a joke. Rafe explains that they don't know for sure if it's Stefan but they are in the process of determining his identity. Julie mentions seeing the resemblance herself. Vivian asks for more about her son. Rafe says he'll tell her at the police station as he escorts her out of Julie's Place. Eli tells Lani that he's so sorry. Lani guesses Eli texted Rafe and that's why he showed up so she credits Eli for her being alive. Julie tells Abe that she doesn't think she's going to book weddings anymore since they don't seem to go well. Marlena will understand if they don't want to do their vows at this point. Lani doesn't know with everything that has happened today when this was supposed to be a happy day. Lani asks what Eli thinks. Eli says he'll do whatever she wants. Lani doesn't know and wishes she could get some sort of sign. Then the door opens..

Ben and Ciara kiss as they talk about how Claire offered to take care of everything so they don't have to. Ciara then gets a call from the bridal shop so she stops to answer it. Ciara asks if they are sure and there's nothing they can do. Ciara hangs up and informs Ben that her dream wedding dress is ruined.

Jake follows Gabi to the hospital. She questions what he's doing here. Jake says he has extra time on his hands but he doesn't trust her. Gabi asks if he thinks she would alter the results. Jake thinks she would do whatever it takes to get what she wants. Gabi responds that Stefan loved that about her. Jake tells her to go get the results so she walks off.

Tamara returns to Julie's Place with Billy and she questions Lani crying. Lani says she's fine now that she's here and asks if she's okay. Tamara says she had a good meal at the hotel while Billy finished his call and offered to bring her back. Tamara asks what happened. Julie tells Tamara that two miserable, selfish women who don't understand the meaning of love wanted to destroy their joy today but Abe disposed of one of them, Gabi Hernandez, while Rafe arrived in time to wrestle the gun away from Vivian Alamain. Tamara and Billy can't believe it. Billy asks if Valerie is okay. Valerie says they are all safe and fine now that Lani is safe. Valerie encourages Lani that she's surrounded and protected by all of their love. Tamara wants to watch Eli and Lani get married. Abe points out that they aren't sure about continuing the ceremony after all that has happened. Marlena asks Eli and Lani. Eli tells Lani that it looks like she got her sign. Lani then agrees to get married. She kisses Eli as everyone applauds.

Ciara informs Ben that there are nail polish stains all over her gown and they can't get them off. Ben encourages that there's something they can do but Ciara cries that it's completely destroyed. Ciara doesn't understand as there wasn't a single mark on the dress when she tried it on and she put all the dresses back in the bags herself. Ben suggests she just get another one but Ciara says it was one of a kind and all she got. Ben points out there is time to get another dress. Ciara complains that she tried on every gown in town and she just doesn't understand how nail polish could get all over her dress..

Claire sits in her room putting on nail polish.

Rafe brings Vivian to the interrogation room at the police station. Vivian asks him to tell her about her son. Rafe says it all started when a man named Jake Lambert came to a town. Vivian asks who that is. Rafe says he's a mechanic. Vivian argues that her son wasn't a mechanic, he was the heir to a fortune who went to the best schools and spoke four languages. Rafe then shows Vivian a photo of Jake.

Gabi returns to Jake with the DNA test results. Jake asks if she's going to open it so she does.

Marlena continues the ceremony by calling upon Eli to say his vows. Eli tells Lani that they have been through so much in the last few years and the last few hours but he will never regret a second of their life or love. Eli says they fell in love because of the child they loved and lost so they will remember him every day and make sure their baby knows about him. Eli says last time, Lani sacrificed everything to save Julie's life but she doesn't have to anymore because she will never be alone again. Eli tells Lani that he loves her and can't wait to be her husband now and forever. Lani then begins her vows, calling Eli the love of her life and her dream come true. Lani says it took all of her strength to walk away from him before and she never got to say her vows but she knew she had to do everything she could to save Julie because she loves who he loves. Lani says their heartbreak over losing their son will only make them appreciate their new child even more. Lani calls Eli her everything and the best person she knows. Lani promises to be the best wife to him and mother to their child as he makes her feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Lani can't wait to love him for the rest of her life. Marlena states that it's now time to exchange rings. Abe hands over the ring which Eli puts on Lani's finger. Valerie gives Lani her ring to put on Eli's finger. Marlena then pronounces Eli and Lani husband and wife as they kiss and everyone cheers them on. Marlena adds that they want to celebrate their union by honoring a tradition called Jumping the Broom which is a symbolic way of sweeping away the old bad energy and welcoming in all the positive. Abe hands the broom to Tamara which she then presents to Eli and Lani. Marlena calls on everyone to count to three as Eli and Lani then jump over the broom together and they kiss.
