In the town square, Gabi asks if Chad has anything to say about her being completely exonerated. Chad calls it a travesty while Gabi calls it justice. Gabi brags that now Abigail is locked up in an institution while she is free.

Rafe goes home on the phone with Justin, thanking him for everything he did for Gabi. Rafe hangs up as Hope arrives with a pizza which he calls a nice surprise.

Marlena announces that the bride is ready so she stands with Eli while everyone gets ready. Abe and Lani then enter Julie's Place and walk down the aisle. Marlena starts to begin the ceremony but Tamara has chest pains and collapses so Abe, Eli, and Lani rush to her side.

Kristen starts to turn and walk away but Brady senses her and calls out, asking if it's Kristen. Kristen slowly turns back around and says hello to Brady. Brady rushes over and hugs her, questioning what she's doing here and if she's back at the convent. Kristen explains that she needed a disguise to sneak in to Salem since she is still Salem's most wanted. Brady points out that she took a hell of a risk by coming to see her.

Marlena, Lani, Eli get Tamara seated with some water. Lani asks her what happened but Tamara insists that she's fine. Julie offers to call an ambulance but Tamara says no. Eli suggests Valerie examine her while Abe tells everyone to give her space. Tamara repeats that it's okay. Valerie questions her. Tamara says it's just her blood sugar so Billy gives her a cookie. Tamara apologizes for the interruption and insists that she's fine. Tamara says she just needs to go lie down and rest. Lani declares they will put everything on hold and postpone the wedding but Tamara argues that Lani has waited too long for this moment. Tamara says she will go back to rest at her hotel room while Lani goes ahead to marry the love of her life. Lani wishes she would let them wait but says she's part of the wedding no matter where she is. Tamara assures that Lani is always in her heart and she loves her. They help Tamara up. Eli and Abe talk to each other about promising Lani that nothing would go wrong. Abe thinks if it doesn't get any worse, they'll be in pretty good shape.

Chad tells Gabi that the jury was corrupted because she was caught red handed with the drug that Abigail ingested so he doesn't know what more they could've wanted. Gabi argues that the entire case was circumstantial. Chad declares that just because she wasn't convicted doesn't mean she's innocent and that he will have justice for Abigail one way or another. Gabi suggests going after Dr. Rolf since he admitted to Rafe that he set her up. Chad argues that Rafe heard what he wanted because she's his sister. Gabi remarks that she's not a danger to Abigail but she's a danger to Chad because now she's free to take back DiMera.

Rafe tells Hope that she didn't have to do this but she wanted to come check on him. Rafe says he's keeping it together and mentions having his first video chat with David. Rafe says it was great but he fell apart after hanging up. Hope promises it will get easier each time.

Abe offers to escort Tamara to her hotel across the street but Billy says he can do it as he just got a text about a case he's working on and needs to make a few calls anyway. Billy says he'll be happy to escort Tamara which Valerie says is so sweet of him. Lani asks Tamara once more if she is sure and she says she is. Billy then escorts Tamara out. Marlena suggests they proceed with the ceremony so they get back in their places and Marlena begins the ceremony by giving a speech about marriage. Marlena mentions the last time they tried to do this, causing Julie to bring up Gabi.

Chad calls Gabi a joke. Gabi calls Chad a joke for taking care of Abigail instead of running DiMera and now he's just trying to destroy her life. Chad asks what her point is. Gabi responds that the board has seen he's been distracted and negligent. Chad disagrees but questions if they would really turn to her when they don't want her anywhere near them. Gabi argues that they took him back. Chad says he's not a psychotic criminal. Gabi says she's not either and she ran the biggest subsidiary of the company. Chad points out that she was booted before she was arrested so nothing will change. Gabi declares that Jake Lambert's DNA results will and she's expecting them any day. Chad says they can finally prove that Jake is not his reincarnated brother. Gabi insists that he is and when she proves it, she will be Mrs. Stefan DiMera again so together they will have more claim to the company than he does. Gabi then walks off.

Brady questions Kristen coming to see Lani. Kristen calls Lani the best friend she ever had so she wanted to congratulate her on her wedding day and thank her for helping her escape. Brady points out that if they hadn't ran into each other then they wouldn't have seen each other. Kristen explains that she couldn't stand saying goodbye to him again. Brady believes fate just wanted them to be together. Brady tells her that he needs to do this as he then kisses her. Brady mentions not being sure when he would see her again and asks how Rachel is. Kristen tells him that she is amazing. Brady asks where she is. Kristen says she couldn't risk bringing her to Salem so she left her with somebody she trusts but she brought pictures. Kristen shows Brady the pictures on her phone until Chad comes around the corner, shocked to see Kristen.

Rafe tells Hope that it was a relief to see David happy and healthy. Rafe adds that it's also good staying busy and mentions Eli staying here last night. Rafe jokes about ironing Eli's wedding outfit. Hope mentions being bummed not to go to the wedding but she understands Eli and Lani wanting to keep it small after last time. Rafe guesses they should be saying I Do right about now. Rafe adds that he still can't believe Gabi tried to destroy them. Hope says at least in the end, true love won out this time.

Julie knows she promised not to say Gabi's name, joking that she might magically appear. Julie says they are moving on because it's not about her but about love. Julie says they will have a beautiful life together and then declares that Gabi is in court today. Gabi then walks in and announces she is free, remarking that Julie said her name three times and she magically appeared.

Rafe asks about Hope. Hope tells him that she finally caved and accepted the key to the city. Rafe says it's about time because she deserves it. Hope adds that she almost regrets saying yes to Kate because she failed to mention that the ceremony is at the same time as Kayla and Justin's wedding. Rafe guesses it's too late to back out. Hope says she finally decided to accept because she didn't want to disappoint Abe and admits she kind of felt bad for Kate because she was upset about a family situation. Rafe assumes she's talking about Allie which Hope confirms. Rafe mentions running into her and knowing she's pregnant while Sami does not which Hope was unaware of. Hope says whoever Allie decides to tell or not is up to her but worries that if Sami finds out through the grapevine, there will be hell to pay. Rafe figures there will be either way. Rafe apologizes to Hope for screwing things up the night he slept with Sami. Hope calls it the past. Rafe says he still can't help but wonder if things would've ended up differently if he wasn't such an idiot.

Gabi laughs at interrupting the wedding while Julie questions her getting in. Marlena tells Gabi not to do this. Gabi calls it a public service and she thought they would want to know the outcome of her trial since Eli and Lani testified against her. Abe reminds Gabi that Eli and Lani saved her life when she was kidnapped by the mobsters because they are good people. Abe adds that good people don't hold grudges but Lani says she does. Julie warns Gabi that this is her place so she wants to escort her out. Gabi threatens her. Julie points out that they have two cops and the mayor here. Gabi mocks that nothing must be getting back done in this town today and suggests they look into who really drugged Abigail since they can't pin it on her. Lani tells Eli that she feels sick. Eli insists everything will be okay. Lani says she knew Gabi would find a way to ruin it again. Eli argues that nothing is ruined. Eli then tells Gabi that she told him she really cared about him when they were together so if she meant that, she will leave. Abe tells Gabi to leave while Julie opens the door so Gabi storms out. Eli hugs Lani and assures that everything from this moment on will be perfect.

Chad questions Kristen coming back. Kristen says she's not back and tells Chad that she was never here. Chad asks if she's a nun but she says no. Kristen says she shouldn't have turned around when Brady called her name because now she's been caught. Brady encourages that Chad is her brother so he won't turn her in to the police. Kristen pleads with Chad to just walk away and pretend he never saw her. Chad responds that he can't do that.

Hope tells Rafe that she's truly happy that they have been able to put the past in the past and be friends again. Rafe says he really is too and thanks her again for helping him with the whole thing with David. Hope is glad she could help. Rafe tells her that she has helped him more than she knows as they hug until Gabi walks in with champagne to celebrate her victory in court. Hope decides she should go. Gabi says she would offer her some but she knows she's team Abigail. Hope just hopes whoever poisoned Abigail is brought to justice. Gabi insists that it's Dr. Rolf who was the mastermind behind it and had a DiMera minion do the dirty work.

Kristen questions if Chad is going to turn her in as she thought they were on the same side. Chad clarifies that he isn't going to turn her in but he can't just leave and pretend he didn't see her. Chad tells Kristen that he needs a favor. Brady asks what she can possibly do as a fugitive. Chad informs them that Gabi just got off free for drugging Abigail and she said she's coming for their father's company. Kristen argues that she doesn't have a legit claim. Chad informs her that there's an extremely small chance that their brother Stefan is alive which would strengthen Gabi's positions and put the real DiMeras against wannabe DiMeras who didn't even know their father. Kristen tells him that she despises Gabi and would do anything to help him but reminds him that she's on the run so she can't stay here and fight. Chad reveals that he doesn't need her to fight, he needs her shares of DiMera.

Eli asks Lani about the necklace she's wearing. She calls it a gift from a really special friend. Eli asks if she's feeling better now. Lani says she is now that Gabi is gone. Abe re-enters and locks the door so there will be no further interruption. Julie regrets not doing that sooner and calls for everyone to get back in place. Marlena calls upon Julie, who reads a poem for them. Marlena then continues the ceremony. Marlena says she was going to skip the objections part but Gabi's gone so she goes along with asking if anyone has reason for them not to marry. They are relieved to not have any interruption this time. Lani apologizes for still being rattled as after everything, she was still expecting someone else to interrupt. Valerie assures that Abe locked all the doors. Abe promises it will be okay. Lani tells them that she's so thankful they are here sharing this day with them. Lani admits she's been holding her breath ever since they got engaged. Eli encourages that they made it. Julie is sure Lani must have thought this wedding was cursed too when she heard Gabi's voice but she's gone. Julie assures Lani that she is blessed and will be protected and surrounded by their love. Marlena agrees and says there will be no more negativity as they are all here to celebrate their marriage. Marlena states that everything is fine so there's nothing to be afraid of when suddenly they hear glass break.

Gabi questions Rafe and Hope sitting around eating pizza instead of being at Eli and Lani's wedding. Rafe tells her that they wanted to keep it small, remarking that it was probably to deter unwanted guests. Hope decides she should go. Rafe thanks her for the pizza. Hope tells him to enjoy the rest and exits. Gabi asks Rafe what's going on with he and Hope. Rafe says it's nothing but Gabi points out they have been spending a lot of time together lately. Rafe states that they are friends again which he didn't see happening but he's glad it did. Gabi brings up that she walked in on them hugging and asks if he's sure it's not more than friendship.

Brady questions Chad wanting Kristen to give up any claim she has to DiMera. Chad explains that he's just asking her to help him consolidate power as he already has Kate's shares so if he has Kristen's, he can put them together to fight off any challenge from Gabi or a reincarnated Stefan. Kristen acknowledges that if she wants a life with her daughter, she won't be able to come back to Salem or DiMera so she will gladly give Chad her shares if it will keep Gabi from destroying their father's legacy. Chad thanks her. Brady asks if she's sure about that. Kristen says she wants Chad to have them and that her lawyer wil be in touch. Chad and Kristen hug. Chad tells her to take care of herself and Rachel. Kristen tells him to take care of Abigail and notes that she has been praying that she'll be able to come home soon. Chad questions how she knew. Kristen reveals she's been keeping tabs on what's going on in Salem. Chad thanks Kristen for her thoughts and prayers then tells her to be careful as he walks away. Kristen tells Brady that she better go before someone else sees her. Brady informs her that he's been working hard to try to get the charges against her dropped as he made Victor tell Eli that it wasn't her that stabbed him but then Eli made him rethink that story. Kristen knows they'll point the finger at him since he had already confessed. Kristen refuses to let Brady take the fall for her. Kristen says she's sorry but she really has to go. Brady stops her and declares that he's going with her then.

Chad goes home to the DiMera Mansion and faces the portrait of Stefano on the wall. Chad questions why he cares so much about protecting his legacy but he knows he can't let Gabi take anything else from this family. Chad says he was so sure that Gabi was the one who made Abigail sick and wonders why he wanted it to be her so badly. Chad asks if he couldn't face the alternative that someone else was going after his wife or someone following Stefano's orders. Chad questions if Stefano would do that to his own son.

Rafe assures Gabi that he and Hope are just friends. Gabi asks if there's no chance they will get back together which Rafe confirms. Gabi gets a call from the lab that Jake's DNA test results will be done within the hour. Gabi declares that she's about to find out if her husband is alive.

Kristen tells Brady that she wants more than anything for him to come with her but he can't just abandon Tate. Brady says he has no intention of abandoning his son but he doesn't know his daughter and he wants her in his life. Brady can't get used to Kristen and Rachel not being in his life. Brady says it's getting harder. Brady knows it probably can't be forever but he only knows that he needs to be with her. Brady kisses her and then he and Kristen walk off together.

Eli, Lani, and Marlena question the sound of glass breaking from the kitchen. Abe and Valerie plan to go check it out but Julie tells everyone to calm down and insists it was just her good dinner plates hitting the floor. Julie blames a clumsy caterer but when suddenly Vivian Alamain emerges from the kitchen, shocking everyone. Julie questions how she got in and what she's doing here. Vivian responds that she wasn't invited to the wedding so she had no choice but to crash.
