Claire and Gwen sit in the town square together. Claire talks about trying to get her old job back as a waitress in the square but they have a new management and Claire feels they didn't want to hire her back because they think of her as a psycho pyromaniac. Gwen jokes with her but Claire is looking at her phone so Gwen asks if she's boring her. Claire informs Gwen that she's actually meeting Ciara here to talk about being her maid of honor. Gwen comments on Ciara not holding a grudge. Claire calls Ciara wonderful and the perfect human being.

Ben kisses Ciara in their room until Ciara informs him that she's meeting with Claire to go over the wedding. Ben still doesn't think it's a good idea. Ciara assures it will be okay and that it means a lot to Claire. Ben argues that Claire was only happy before when she was the center of attention. Ciara talks about second chances and points out that Claire helped them with the Gabi situation. Ben credits Lani and Eli for saving the day and says if it wasn't for them, Gabi would be dead right now.

Gabi has a dream about Jake being Stefan.

Lani gets flowers delivered from Eli at home with a note saying he looks forward to spending the rest of his life with her. Lani then calls Eli and thanks him for the flowers. Eli wanted to make sure her morning got off to a good start. Lani insists on not seeing each other before the wedding as she's not taking any risks and wants this to be perfect. Eli doesn't think she has anything to worry about. Lani asks what could possibly go wrong after everything they've been through. Someone remains outside her apartment door.

Gabi wakes up from her dream to see Chad bringing her breakfast in bed, warning that it could be her last meal before she goes to jail.

At the garage, Jake calls his old boss and leaves a message saying he has his book and asks how to get it back to him. Luca, one of the thugs who kidnapped Gabi, then shows up at the garage.

Lani asks Eli about staying at Rafe's last night. Eli says they just had a few beers and went to bed early. Eli jokes that he wanted to save his strength for tonight. Lani suggests making it through the wedding first so she has to get ready. Eli tells her that he cannot wait to be her husband and he loves her. Lani says she loves him too as they hang up. Lani goes to turn on the shower when someone knocks at the door. Lani comes back to grab her clothes and then someone opens the door so Lani grabs her gun but it turns out to be Eli's mom, Valerie coming in. Valerie explains that Julie had given her a key in case no one was home. Lani tells her that Eli isn't there but Valerie says she came to see her. Valerie wanted to make sure Lani started the day with a good breakfast which Lani calls sweet. Valerie says there's nothing she wouldn't do for her as they hug.

Rafe greets Eli, who thanks him for letting him crash. Rafe says that's what friends are for. Eli is glad they are still friends considering he testified against Gabi. Rafe understands he was just doing his job and brings up all the things that Gabi did to Eli and Lani. Eli asks what he thinks her chances are. Rafe thinks Gabi is innocent but she's done everything she can to make the jury believe otherwise.

Gabi argues that there's no way the jury will convict her for drugging Abigail. Chad points out that she's done it before and threatens that she will get 10 to 20 years in prison.

Jake thought Luca was in custody but he explains that his lawyer convinced the district attorney that it was all a misunderstanding. Jake argues that there were witnesses. Luca says he's a free man and he's here to make him pay for what he did and show that you don't betray the boss and get away with it.

Ciara tells Ben that this is a way for her and Claire to reconnect. Ben thinks they could just go hang out instead of being her maid of honor. Ciara talks about Marlena and Claire's doctors thinking she's well and sane so she has no reason to doubt them. Ciara tells Ben to get dressed and get ready which Ben questions. Ciara says she won't let him miss a single detail of the wedding. Ciara says she really wants Claire back in her life and that won't happen if Ben keeps avoiding her as she will know something is up.

Claire tells Gwen that she thinks she proved herself to Ciara by trying to help Gabi. Gwen points out that she kind of has her to thank for that so Claire thanks her. Claire says now she actually has a chance to make up for all the horrible things she did to Ciara. Gwen asks if Claire is sincere about making amends with Ciara or if she has something else in mind.

Gabi tells Chad that she did not drug Abigail. Chad brings up her criminal record and being caught trying to inject Jake. Gabi argues that Dr. Rolf framed her. Chad laughs at the idea of her being the victim. Chad tells her that Stefan is dead and the DNA results will prove it. Gabi tells Chad to just go look at Jake and he will know he is Stefan.

Jake tells Luca that he got the book and has been trying to get it back to him. Jake then tosses the book to him. Luca is surprised that he actually came through. Jake tells him they are even now and can go their separate ways as he wants nothing more to do with the organization. Luca says he'll pass that along but warns that walking away isn't always that easy.

Gwen tells Claire that she can trust her and asks if she has something else in mind for Ciara. Before Claire can answer, Ben and Ciara then arrive. Gwen decides to go if they have a lot to talk about. Claire says she can stay if she'd like but Gwen says she has lots to do so she'll see her at home and exits. Ben asks what are the odds that Claire would be friends with Jake's ex. Claire says they met at Bayview and really hit it off. Claire guesses Ciara told Ben about her being maid of honor. Ben confirms that she did and says he wouldn't call it good news.

Eli is sorry Rafe is going through such a tough time from losing David and now dealing with Gabi. Rafe insists he'll be alright. Eli says if he's ever not okay, he can count on him and Lani. Rafe tells Eli that today is his big day so if he needs anything, he can let him know if he can help. Eli responds that there actually is something he could do for him.

Valerie tells Lani to just sit back and relax while she makes breakfast. Lani admits she's nervous after what happened at their last wedding. Valerie isn't sorry she missed seeing all that drama as it must've been hell on her to be blackmailed. Lani remarks that Gabi takes revenge very seriously. Valerie can't believe Gabi isn't behind bars. Lani says she still might end up there. Valerie hopes they put her back behind bars. Lani talks about how Gabi does horrible things but when she gets caught, she always brings up her daughter. They wonder if Gabi was thinking about her daughter when she controlled Julie's heart, blackmailed Lani, or drugged Abigail. Valerie encourages that Lani got up and came back swinging. Lani talks about hiding out in the convent at first where the one person who got her through all of that was Kristen DiMera. Valerie mentions Eli telling her they had become friends. Lani knows some people disapprove of her but if not for Kristen, she wouldn't have come back and fought for Eli. Lani is so glad she did because they are finally getting their happy ending and no one can stop them this time. Someone approaches the apartment door outside. Valerie talks to Lani about Eli never knowing his father David. Lani remembers Eli dealing with that when they first met and she had no idea what he was going through. Lani says once she finally got to know Eli, she realized he's an amazing man.

Eli has Rafe iron his shirt. Rafe jokes about Eli being unable to iron his own shirt. Eli says he alway messes up and praises the job he's doing. Eli adds that Lani wants the day to be perfect. Rafe says the day should be perfect because they have been down a long road.

Gwen goes to the garage and is thankful Jake is not dead because she saw Luca driving off so she thought he would have a bullet in his head. Jake hopes that was the last of him since he gave him the book. Gwen asks if that means it's over and he's out. Jake hopes so but he said sometimes it's hard to cut ties. Gwen brings up thinking they were over for good but now they're back together. Jake questions who said they were back together.

Gabi wants to introduce Chad to Jake but he's not interested. Gabi knows Chad and Stefan didn't get along but he's still a DiMera. Chad says he'd be interested if he thought it was possible that it could be true. Gabi brings up Dr. Rolf bringing people back from the dead. Chad argues that they all had hearts while Stefan's is inside of Julie. Gabi thinks there could be a reasonable explanation but Chad says there isn't. Chad suggests she find something better to do with her time on what could be her last free day. Gabi shouts that she's not going to prison. Chad tells her to enjoy her freedom while it lasts as he exits the room. Chad heads to the living room where Jack is playing cards with Thomas. Jack mentions Jennifer taking Charlotte to the lake. Jack offers to take Thomas to the zoo this weekend but he says he wants Chad to take him. Chad thinks he has to go back to Florida to be with Abigail but Thomas asks him not to go.

Ciara questions the tone Ben is setting. Ben doesn't want to pretend. Ciara wants him to be civil. Claire says it's okay as they can't just pretend the past never happened. Claire understands Ben is worried about her spending time with Ciara. Ben brings up Claire trying to kill her twice. Ciara gets upset but Claire says it's okay and that she did those things but she got help just like Ben did. Claire calls it hypocritical to say Ben is the only one who gets a second chance. Ben says when he first got out of Bayview, he wasn't demanding people trust him because he knew it would take a lot of time. Ben says getting out of Bayview doesn't mean you're well like Jordan. Claire argues that she's just asking Ciara to trust her. Ben feels she's pressuring her to let her be a part of the most important day of her life. Claire laughs at that and calls it egocentric. Ciara tells them to stop. Claire feels if Ben and Will could get past what he did then she should get the same chance with Ciara.

Eli thanks Rafe for ironing his shirt. Rafe gives Eli a pair of cuff links. Eli asks if he's sure he doesn't want to come to the wedding. Rafe knows it's just family. Eli says they think of him as family. Rafe feels it wouldn't be right after everything his sister has done to them. Rafe encourages them to have their day and be happy. They joke about saving Rafe a piece of cake. Eli tells Rafe that he's always been a loner so he just wants to say it means a lot to him to have him as a best friend. Rafe jokes with Eli about getting sappy with him. They hug as Rafe encourages Eli to go get married.

Valerie decides she will leave to let Lani get ready and asks if her mother is coming. Lani says maybe but she's not here yet. Valerie offers to stay but Lani thanks her for breakfast and for listening. Valerie gives her something old and blue. Valerie talks about seeing how happy Eli is because of her. Valerie praises that Lani will be a beautiful bride and her wedding day will be perfect. Lani thanks her as they hug. They say they love each other as Valerie then exits. Lani then goes back to shower while someone remains outside her door.

Gwen tells Jake that they kissed and made up. Jake brings up that Gwen almost got him killed. Gwen calls it a mistake and says she didn't know the book would cause so much trouble. Jake says she would have if she returned any of his calls. Gwen points out that it's all sorted out now. Jake doesn't think it's a good idea. Gwen asks if this is because of Gabi but Jake says no. Jake admits the timeline doesn't rule things out and says he's busy. Gwen asks if Jake really thinks he's Stefan or if he wants to do this for Gabi.

Gabi calls the hospital for an update on the DNA test. Gabi questions what is taking so long and asks them to let her know when they have the results as she hangs up. Gabi insists that Jake is Stefan and she just has to find a way to prove it.

Chad knows this has been hard on Thomas and that he misses his parents very much as they miss him too but Abigail still needs time to get better and he can't leave her there alone. Chad promises they will be back very soon. Jack says until then, he and Jennifer will do lots of fun things with the kids including going to the zoo. Jack then takes Thomas upstairs to read a book.

Ciara mocks planning her wedding with Claire and Ben. Ciara then gets a phone call from work and tells them to grow up while she steps away to answer it. Ben tells Claire that right now she has the upper hand since Ciara wants this to work so badly so he looks like the bad guy. Ben says Claire wins this round and he'll keep quiet. Ben adds that he really hopes Claire is better but warns that he will be watching her like a hawk and if she seems like a threat to Ciara, he will shut her down. Claire argues that Ciara is her aunt and more like a sister to her. Claire says she loves her with her whole heart and will devote herself to doing everything she wants. Claire knows Ciara wants to get back to where they were. Ben recalls being there putting out the fires she set. Ciara then comes back so Ben and Claire claim they worked everything out. Claire tells Ben she understands his reaction and has no hard feelings. Ben is glad they cleared the air. Claire tells Ciara that she wanted to show her some more wedding dresses and thinks this should be just the girls so Ben tells Ciara to have fun and kisses her. Ciara thanks Ben as she then goes shopping with Claire.

Jake assures Gwen that he's not interested in Gabi. Gwen says there is nothing standing in their way then. Jake needs time to think it over. Gwen tells him this isn't about thinking, but feeling, as she sits on top of him and kisses him. Gabi then walks in and yells at Gwen to take her nasty paws off her husband.

Rafe goes to the DiMera Mansion and asks Chad where Gabi is. Chad says she went out. Rafe informs him that he just got a call that the jury has reached a verdict.

Valerie goes to see Eli and tells him he looks handsome. Valerie talks about surprising Lani and she thought she was an intruder so she pulled a gun on her. Valerie mentions Lani saying she felt like someone was watching her. Eli guesses it's pre-wedding nerves.

Lani gets out of the shower and there's a knock at the door. Lani opens it assuming it will be Valerie but is surprised to see Kristen, once again dressed as a nun. Lani can't believe she's here as they hug.
