Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 6/3/20

Marlena visits Claire at the mental institution and says she got her call. Claire tells Marlena that she wants out as she's ready to come home. Marlena wishes she could as the whole family wants her back. Claire feels if anyone can make it happen, it's Marlena then she will be back home where she belongs.

Ben tells Jake that he appreciates him telling the truth about his involvement with the mob. Jake admits it wasn't fair to keep him in the dark anymore because these guys knocked him around cause they thought he was him. Ben points out that the second time, he thought they were going to hurt Ciara. Jake is just glad they made it out. Ben says at least now he knows who they are and what he's dealing with. Jake asks if that means Ben will consider coming back to work. Ben notes that those guys will come back after him and the violence will only escalate. Jake responds that he needs to be ready and has a lot of work at the garage. Jake admits he's in over his head and he needs Ben's help now more than ever.

Gabi goes to Jake's room at the garage and bags his toothbrush. She goes to leave with it but a man appears and questions if she's going somewhere. Gabi says she was just leaving but he stops her and says he doesn't think so.

Brady tells Ciara that the situation is a little more complicated than she realizes and he can't really get into it. Ciara is sure he has a ton on his plate. Brady promises to look over her proposals. Ciara decides they will talk later and exits Brady's office. Brady then drops Ciara's folder in the trash. Brady declares that he can't have Ciara building up Titan when he's going to rip it down. Brady gets a message on his phone that Maggie is free. Brady says to himself that Maggie deserves it after what she's been through but Victor doesn't deserve to have her as a wife. Nicole then enters the office and guesses she should congratulate him on getting his old job back but remarks that he had to screw her over to do it.

Xander goes to leave the Kiriakis Mansion right as Sarah arrives, surprised to see him. Sarah says she's just here to talk to her mom but Xander asks her to wait so they can talk. Sarah repeats that she only wants to talk to her mom and walks into the living room but no one is inside. Xander notes that Maggie was here a minute ago so she must have went upstairs with Victor. Sarah questions Victor being home. Xander explains that Sonny and Will brought him back from the hospital so he suspects they wanted some alone time. Sarah decides she doesn't want to interrupt their reunion and she might lose it on Victor again if so which he questions. Sarah tells him about having words with Victor at the hospital about what they did to her. Sarah adds that if Marlena hadn't shown up, she doesn't know what she would've done. Xander knows she's upset and encourages her to vent some anger at him.

Eric goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Ciara. Ciara gives Eric a wedding invitation for he and Nicole. Eric tells her that he's very happy for her and hugs her. Ciara hopes Nicole can make it too. Eric informs Ciara that he and Nicole also got engaged. Eric says it's crazy to say but he thinks things are turning around for their family. Ciara hopes he's right and suggests they catch up later but now she's heading back to the office. Eric mentions hearing she was back at Titan and adds that Nicole found out this morning that Brady was gone from Basic Black and he never even bothered to let her know.

Nicole can't believe she had to find out from the janitor that Brady quit Basic Black. Brady explains that it happened fast as he had the opportunity to take charge again so he took it. Nicole doesn't understand since she's had his back through some dark times. Brady says he has had hers too. Nicole argues that they were partners so he at least owed her the respect to tell her that he was leaving. Nicole knows he's been through a lot but now Xander told her that he's making moves on Sarah. Brady doesn't see how that would matter to her. Nicole thought he still loved Kristen. Brady tells her that he knows what he's doing and this is just the beginning of his plan. Nicole questions him not talking about his plan with his family or friends. Nicole questions him quitting his job and jumping into bed with his brother's ex. Brady tells her that Kristen is gone so he couldn't be at Basic Black anymore as there were too many reminders of her everywhere so he needed a fresh start. Brady says if she can't understand that, he's sorry. Nicole says if that was his attempt at an apology, he failed miserably.

Marlena tells Claire that it's up to her doctors to decide when she's able to be released. Claire is sure that her doctor would be open to talking to Marlena and asks if she is on her side. Marlena assures that she's always on her side but feels this is a little bit rushed and desperate so it makes her wonder why it's so urgent for her to get out right away.

The man questions what Gabi stashed in her bag. Gabi says it's none of his business and asks who he is. He says that's none of her business and takes her purse but sees she only had the toothbrush. He questions where it is. Gabi asks what he's looking for. He says he won't waste any more time on her and asks where her boyfriend is since she's in Jake's apartment by herself, going through his stuff and stealing his toothbrush. Gabi responds that Jake is not her boyfriend, he is her husband.

Jake questions if Ben has a better offer than working for him at the garage. Ben says not at the moment but he's going to need to know what his plan is when it comes to dealing with these old friends of his. Jake says they will be gone when he gives them back what he took from their boss. Ben points out that he doesn't have it. Jake reveals his ex girlfriend's name is Gwen. Ben questions how to track her down. Jake says he's given some thought as she left Philly to Chicago and then took a train to Salem but the trail went cold. Ben asks why she would come to Salem. Jake has no clue as he doesn't know of her having any friends or family here. Jake says he was going to leave Salem but he ran out of money so he took the job at the garage. Ben asks if they will just forget about tracking down Gwen. Jake explains that he can't go back on the hunt until he gets paid and Gabi has been quite a distraction. Jake hopes Gabi is taking a break from hounding him. Jake remarks that he can't move until he gives these guys what they are looking for but he can't do that because he doesn't know where Gwen is. Ben brings up doing security work for Stefan DiMera so he has some skills that might help him track down his ex. Ben offers to help Jake find Gwen.

Brady tells Nicole that he's really sorry for leaving her at Basic Black as that was not his intention. Nicole argues that he didn't think of her at all. Brady says his head's been all over the place since Kristen left with Rachel and this job was an opportunity to get control again of everything. Brady asks her to back off and let him do what he needs to do. Nicole asks if he means making the moves on Sarah. Brady assures that he knows what he's doing but Nicole thinks he's going off the rails. Nicole asks if he's just getting back at Xander by taking his job and his girl. Brady responds that Xander deserves to have everything taken away from him. Nicole agrees but asks what about Victor since he lied to him, took his job and child. Nicole asks if part of Brady wants to see Victor suffer too. Brady says he can't do this as he's going to see how Maggie is doing. Nicole questions him just leaving but Brady rushes out.

Xander knows it's hard for Sarah to be around him right now since he betrayed her trust. Xander mentions having a long talk with Maggie about it. Sarah argues that Maggie should hate him as much as she does. Xander admits she's furious but she understands that everything he did was for Sarah because he still loves her. Xander questions why she can't understand that. Sarah says she gets it and talks about Marlena suggesting that it wasn't just her anger she couldn't get over. Xander asks what it was then as Sarah thinks back to Marlena asking if she still loves Xander. Xander asks if Sarah is going to tell her what it was. Xander says he's not asking her to forgive him today but maybe someday. Xander repeats that he loves her and he believes some part of her still loves him too. Xander asks if he's right but Brady walks in and asks Sarah if Xander is still bugging her.

Ciara tells Eric that she understands why Nicole would be upset with Brady for bailing on her but she thinks he's focused on other things as he's kind of off his game. Eric asks how so. Ciara explains that Brady was acting all powerful and in charge but barely listened to her ideas like he already decided to reject them. Eric guesses he has a lot on his mind. Ciara questions how long Victor will let him stay as CEO if he's already going to tank the company.

Claire questions Marlena thinking her wanting to go home is sudden. Claire argues that she's been locked up here for almost two years. Marlena reminds her that she was sick and needed this help. Claire says she's gotten that help and her progress has exceeded expectations as she's done everything asked of her. Claire says everyone calls her the perfect patient and questions what else she is supposed to do to prove herself. Marlena notes that she's already done everything asked of her so Claire asks why she's still here. Claire questions if Ben can get released from Bayview then why can't she.

Jake tells Ben that he can't have him helping him track down Gwen when it has nothing to do with him. Ben argues that he was attacked twice so he's already involved and it seems like it'd be in his best interest to find these guys and give them what they wanted. Jake then decides if he believes he can help him, he's glad to take the assist. They shake hands as Ben agrees to see what he can find out on Gwen. Ben adds that he's going to check on Ciara at her first day back at work so he can bring her some flowers. Jake sends his congratulations and says he's heading back to the garage as he exits.

The man questions Gabi about Jake being her husband and says that means she'll make the perfect hostage. He calls her a solid bargaining chip as Jake has something that belongs to his boss. He declares that now that he has his wife, he's sure Jake will hand it over. Gabi says she's sorry but she doesn't think that's going to work. He pulls out a gun and says he does. He suggests giving Jake a call. Gabi says there's been a misunderstanding as Jake is not her husband but it's complicated. Gabi explains that her real husband's name is Stefan DiMera while Jake won't care because he hates her so she's a worthless hostage. Gabi offers to go talk to Jake to make sure he cooperates. He warns her to either call Jake to give him what he came for or he will blow her head off.

Ciara returns to Brady's office to bring him a coffee but finds that he's gone. Ciara then finds her folder of proposals in the trash. Ben arrives with flowers. Ben notes that something is wrong and asks her what it is. Ciara tells him that she's not really sure.

Nicole goes home to Eric. Eric mentions going to Basic Black to checking on her but she wasn't there. Nicole informs him that she visited Brady at Titan. Eric asks what he had to say for himself. Nicole says Brady was all over the place, acting strange, and then he just took off. Eric mentions running into Ciara earlier and she said he seemed a bit off his game. Nicole just wants to know what game it is.

Brady tells Xander to just go. Xander argues that he and Sarah were in the middle of a conversation. Brady tells him that Sarah is with him now so he needs to back off and go. Xander believes this is all just an act but he won't be scared off and he wants to finish their conversation. Brady tells him that she doesn't want to talk to him. Xander tells him to stay out of it as he and Sarah have a lot to straighten out alone. Brady refuses to leave him alone with her after what he did to her. Xander says that everything is out in the open now. Brady asks if he's sure about that. Xander says he's deeply sorry for letting Sarah fall in love with a baby that wasn't hers. Brady asks if he's also deeply sorry about trying to take her baby away before it was even born. Sarah asks what he's talking about. Xander calls it nonsense and tells her not to listen to Brady. Xander asks to go somewhere private to work all this out. Brady then brings up the Brookville Clinic which Sarah questions. Brady asks if Xander doesn't want to talk about what happened there when Sarah went to get an abortion. Sarah questions how Brady knows about that. Brady asks Xander. Xander says nothing happened because he took Sarah there. Brady goes over Sarah not wanting Eric and Nicole to find out she was pregnant with Eric's baby. Xander calls it the most selfless thing he's ever saw anyone do and he would support Sarah. Brady then reveals how Xander was going to help Dr. Rolf steal the embryo from Sarah's body and have it implanted in to Kristen's womb, shocking Sarah.

Ciara tells Ben about finding her reports in the trash after all her hard work. Ben guesses Brady is threatened by her because he knows Victor is in her corner. Ben encourages her to keep doing what she's doing. Ciara says he always knows what to say to make her feel better. Ben responds that seeing her happy is the only thing that makes him happy as they kiss. Ciara asks how things went with Jake after she left. Ben informs her that Jake told him the whole story.

Jake goes to the garage where the man brings Gabi in at gunpoint. Jake questions what he's doing. Jake tells him to let her go as his business is with him. He asks Jake to hand over what he's after. Jake responds that he doesn't have it. He tells him to go get it or he's going to off his little wife right here and now.

Marlena tells Claire that she can't compare her situation to anybody else's. Claire argues that Ben is the necktie killer who murdered people but is free to walk the streets of Salem. Marlena assures that he's not the same person he was as she treated him herself and vouched for his recovery. Claire asks if she can do the same for her as she doesn't see how anyone can think she needs to be punished more than him. Marlena calls this not a punishment. Claire knows she deserves to be here and how wrong it was of her to set those fires but argues that she wasn't herself then either. Claire insists she would never do something like that ever again. Marlena would like to believe that. Claire insists that she's learned everything there is to learn and now she wants to make amends to the people that she hurt and the people she loves. Claire talks about how much she's changed and how hard she's worked. Claire mentions not seeing Ciara since she's been in here so she is obviously too upset to want to visit. Claire wants to make amends to Ciara more than anyone else, feeling she let her down so badly. Marlena points out that she didn't just let her down. Claire calls Ciara her best friend before all this happened and she lost control. Marlena notes that she tried to kill her which Claire says she regrets every single day. Claire misses Ciara and wants to get back to the way they were. Claire needs Ciara to know that she still loves and cares about her but says only Marlena can help her. Claire swears she's done the work and can live a decent life now if given the chance. Marlena agrees to talk to her doctors. Claire hugs her and thanks her. Marlena adds that there are no guarantees. Claire believes they will listen to Marlena. Marlena says she will get back to her right after. Claire says she loves her as she hugs her. Marlena then exits the room.

Eric knows how Nicole must feel to think Brady walked out on her but says she doesn't need him and can run Basic Black on her own. Eric wants her to achieve her goals without anyone standing in her way as they kiss.

Sarah questions Xander planning to help Dr. Rolf and Kristen steal her embryo, asking how he could do something like that. Xander points out that he didn't go through with it because Kristen was already pregnant so it was all just talk. Sarah argues that Xander was still going to help Dr. Rolf. Xander points out that Sarah was there to have an abortion so it's not like she even wanted the baby. Sarah then slaps Xander.

Nicole talks to Eric about how lucky she is to be engaged to him as they continue kissing. Nicole then sees Ciara's wedding invitation. Nicole notes that their wedding is in July so she guesses their wedding will have to be in August or September. Eric suggests they could get married before Ciara and Ben but Nicole feels that's not enough time to plan. Eric says as long as he has her, Holly, and a justice of the peace. Nicole asks about his friends or family but Eric says he doesn't care who is there as they can have a party anytime while he just wants to be married to her as they have waited a lifetime. Nicole calls him amazing and decides that sounds wonderful as they kiss.

Xander tells Sarah that came out wrong but Sarah argues that Xander believed it was okay. Xander calls the insane idea all Kristen's and says he was a different person then. Xander argues that he stood by her through the pregnancy, wanted to marry her, and delivered her baby. Sarah talks about him lying to her for months and she's sick of him justifying it. Xander says he loves her but Sarah calls it meaningless. Sarah declares that they are done and then exits with Brady.

Claire pulls out one of Ciara and Ben's wedding invitations and says who knows, maybe she'll make it home in time for Ciara's wedding...

Ben fills Ciara in on Jake's story. Ciara is glad he finally told him why the guys were after him but asks if he's sure about helping the search for Gwen. Ciara questions getting involved with dangerous people. Ben says he's taken on dangerous people before. Ciara says he has her to stay safe for and a wedding to plan. Ben promises nothing will keep him from walking down the aisle but he feels the sooner they find Gwen, it's a lot better for everyone.

Gabi argues that she has nothing to do with this. Jake agrees but the man points out that Gabi was in Jake's apartment. Gabi cries that she has a daughter waiting for her at home. The man says he has a boss waiting for answers. Jake responds that he doesn't have what he wants but promises he will get it. The man gives Jake 24 hours to give him what he needs and drags Gabi out of the garage while Jake shouts for him to let her go. Jake then slams the door in frustration.
