Ben brings Ciara breakfast in bed with a fortune cookie that reads "You are going to have an incredible first day back at work." Ciara asks how Ben gets these messages inside the cookie. Ben claims it wasn't him but encourages that she's going to knock it out of the park. They kiss until Ben says he doesn't want to make her late for work.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Sonny and Will toast to new beginnings and new babies. Will thinks before Arianna goes to school, they should have that talk with her. Sonny agrees and calls her into the living room. Arianna asks if it's about her mom which Will confirms. Before they can explain, Gabi walks in and hugs Arianna.

Xander visits Maggie at the prison. Maggie thought Justin might be bringing her some news. Xander informs her that Justin is in court today, arguing that her conviction should be overturned since Christian confessed that he and Orpheus are responsible for the accident that killed Adrienne. Maggie declares that if Justin can pull this off, she might actually go home.

Victor waits to be released from his hospital room. Sarah walks in which surprises him as she informs him that she's back at work at the hospital and came to check on him. Victor says that's not necessary. Sarah calls it a miracle that he survived being stabbed by Kristen. Sarah then remarks that it's a shame her aim isn't more accurate.

Brady works at the Titan office and says it's going to be too easy to take Titan and Victor down. John arrives and says he just heard Brady got his old job back so he's here to find out what the hell he's up to.

Victor acknowledges that Sarah is upset. Sarah blames him for letting her fall in love with a baby that wasn't her's. Victor argues that he was trying to protect Maggie while Xander was trying to protect her. Sarah is sick of hearing that excuse and complains about her baby dying the night she was born. Victor says he's sorry about what happened but Sarah shouts at him to shut up because she doesn't want to hear it. Sarah argues that Victor is just waiting to go home like nothing happened while they all have to pay the consequences for the stupid selfish horrible things he does. Sarah remarks that she has half the mind to finish the job Kristen started because he doesn't deserve anything. Marlena then interrupts and questions what's going on here.

Brady tells John that this was his job before Xander stole it from him so he just finally got it back. Brady claims it's what he deserves and where he belongs. John asks about Xander. Brady says he deserves to rot in Hell so he hopes he's somewhere miserable. John says that sounds reasonable but he doesn't believe a word of it. John argues that he knows Brady and doesn't think this has anything to do with Xander at all.

Xander hopes today is the last day Maggie has to spend in prison and encourages that it will be over soon. Maggie asks why he's here. Xander figured she'd be anxious and wouldn't want to be alone but he understands if she doesn't want him here. Maggie admits she has a lot of reasons to be angry with him. Xander acknowledges that he's done a lot of terrible things starting with letting Will languish in prison. Maggie understands that he did it to protect her and Sarah. Maggie adds that Xander saved her life. Xander is just glad he could be there and that Maggie now knows she's not responsible for killing Adrienne or her grandchild. Maggie appreciates Xander coming but notes that he doesn't look so good so she asks how he is. Xander responds that he's lost everything, the woman he loves, his job, and this time he has no idea how to get any of it back.

Victor argues that Sarah should be fired because a doctor should know better than to threaten a patient. Marlena asks Sarah to come with her and tells Victor that his nurse will be right in so he'll be released very soon. Marlena and Sarah then exit the room.

Ben tells Ciara that he's not going back to work with Jake until he gets an explanation as to why those thugs were there so he plans to spend the day job hunting. Ben wants to be fully employed by the time they get married. Ciara notes that it doesn't matter to her but Ben says it does to him. Ben adds that most employers will have a problem with his history but he'll find something. Ciara suggests waiting until after their honeymoon but Ben refuses to get married while needing her to support him. Ben wants her to be successful at Titan but he also wants her to have a successful husband that she can be proud of. Ciara tells him that she's already so proud of him as they kiss. Ciara says she will see him after work. Ciara goes to leave when Jake shows up at their door.

Gabi tells Arianna that she's so happy to see her and to finally be back home. Arianna questions where she has been. Gabi claims she was on a business trip. Will and Sonny say they were just about to tell her about it. Arianna asks if she got her a present. Gabi gives her a bracelet. Sonny sends Arianna to get ready for school. Sonny and Will then question how Gabi is back and if she busted out of jail. Gabi informs them that she's out on bail and that Rafe is working on proving she's innocent. Gabi insists that Dr. Rolf set her up and she did not hurt Abigail or Jake. Will asks if she's ready now to admit that Jake isn't Stefan. Gabi says hell no and that maybe Dr. Rolf didn't bring Stefan back but maybe somebody else did. Gabi knows in her heart that Jake is Stefan. Sonny warns her to be careful with this obsession. Will adds that she's lucky to be free and questions what they are going to say to Arianna if Gabi gets sent away. Gabi assures that she won't be and decides she will take Arianna to school then she will spend the rest of the day proving once and for all that Jake is Stefan.

Jake asks to talk to Ben alone. Ciara says she has to get to the office anyway. Ben wishes her luck as she exits. Ben asks Jake what he can do for him. Jake points out that he didn't show up for work. Ben reminds him that he told him he wasn't going to and he's looking for a new job. Jake informs him that he doesn't need to look for a new job. Ben says he is not coming back until he gets answers so Jake says he came here to give him answers. Jake declares that he will give him his whole story and why those guys are coming after him.

Marlena sits with Sarah at the hospital. Sarah apologizes for losing her cool but seeing Victor triggered her as it was the first time seeing him since she found out about all the lies so she lost it when he started to apologize. Marlena understands she was in a lot of pain and Victor was partly responsible. Sarah complains that so much suffering has happened and questions how someone who loves you can betray you like that. Sarah complains about almost marrying Xander and raising a child with him. Sarah calls that the hardest part but says it doesn't matter. Marlena stops and asks if she was about to say that she still loves him.

Xander informs Maggie that Victor fired him and put Brady back in the CEO position. Maggie is surprised since they were partners in crime and Xander helped him with everything. Xander wishes he never did since Victor just used him to do his dirty work while he really loves Brady. Maggie brings up that Victor fired Brady when this whole ugly mess began after making him think he had lost his child. Xander admits he blackmailed Victor for the job and now it's Brady's so he's gone. Maggie sees why Brady would want him out since he's the victim in all of this. Xander wonders if Maggie would be so understanding if she knew Brady was sleeping with her daughter which surprises her.

Brady assures John that Xander is the reason he's here. John doesn't see Brady changing his whole life for revenge on Xander so he thinks this is about Victor. John asks what kind of man would fire his own grandson right after making him believe his daughter was dead. John believes the one Brady wants to punish is Victor but he's running his company so John questions what exactly Brady has planned for him. John admits he wouldn't blame him if he wanted to punish Victor but he's curious about how he's going about it. Ciara then arrives and apologizes for interrupting. Brady says John just came by to congratulate him and notes that it's Ciara's first day back as well. John tells Ciara they are lucky to have her and jokes about her keeping an eye on Brady. Ciara mentions her and Ben's wedding. John says he and Marlena wouldn't miss it and they are so happy for them. John then exits. Ciara tells Brady how excited she is that he's back in charge so she doesn't have to report to Xander anymore. Brady mentions making sure that Xander is not coming back.

Maggie tells Xander that Sarah and Brady doesn't make any sense. Xander thinks it's all an act and that they want him to believe they are together to punish him for what he did and to keep him away from Sarah. Xander declares that either way, Sarah hates him and he doesn't know if he'll ever be able to change her mind. Xander adds that he doesn't blame her as he knows how much she hurt her but he'd do anything to make it up to her. Maggie suggests he doesn't deserve a chance. Xander agrees but he's never loved anyone the way he loved Sarah. Xander asks what he can do to change Sarah's mind and make her understand that everything he did was to protect her.

Sarah asks Marlena how she could be in love with someone who could do something like this to her. Marlena says she wasn't defending him but understands he was trying to protect her. Sarah argues that he went about it in the worst possible way. Marlena states that sometimes people in love go to extremes.

Will and Sonny make sure Gabi isn't going to inject Jake again. Gabi wants a DNA test. Sonny points out that she'd need a sample from Jake and Stefan. Gabi calls them the same person but says she's on it. Will argues that she's going to make the situation worse when she's lucky to be out on bail. Sonny worries that she always does something illegal and asks her to just let Rafe clear her name. Will reminds her that Arianna needs her. Sonny warns Gabi to let it go unless she wants to back to prison. Gabi brings up Sonny believing Will was dead when he wasn't so now she questions stopping. Will says they are just trying to keep her safe. Gabi insists that she's going to prove her husband is alive. Gabi then goes to get Arianna for school. Sonny questions what they are supposed to do. Will says she's made up her mind on Jake and they can't change it. Will hopes Gabi wouldn't do anything to risk being separated from Arianna. Will asks if they should warn Jake but Sonny says he's not their problem. Will guesses he should tell Rafe what's going on. Sonny then gets a call from Victor, who says he's got his release papers from the hospital so he needs someone to come get him. Sonny agrees to come get him and hangs up. Sonny tells Will that he's got to go pick up Victor from the hospital. Will decides to go with him so they exit.

Gabi goes to her room and pulls out a framed photo of Stefan. Gabi tells herself to focus on her mission and digs through the drawers until finding Stefan's old hair brush and puts it in a bag. Gabi declares that she now needs something of Jake's.

Jake tells Ben that he worked for an organization called The Family in Philadelphia but when he tried to leave it, he panicked and did something stupid by taking something valuable that he hoped to use as a bargaining chip but he lost it. Jake explains the relationship he was in at the time was rocky at best and they had one last bad fight where he stormed out then he came back and everything was gone, including what he took from The Family. Ben asks where his ex is now but Jake has no idea.

Maggie suggests Xander give Sarah space rather than push. Xander questions sitting back and doing nothing. Maggie says what he chooses to do with her suggestion is up to him. Xander feels he turned this visit into something selfish since he spent the whole time talking about himself. Maggie says it's better than no visit at all. Xander knows it's torture for her waiting to hear if she will be released or not. Maggie comments that having hope makes it both better and worse. Xander offers to call the court to check for an update and says he'll be back soon as he then exits.

Sarah tells Marlena that she knows Xander wasn't trying to hurt her when he switched the babies but she can't forgive the pain that he and Victor caused so she wants them to pay. Sarah declares that making them pay is all she thinks about. Marlena asks what about the grief of losing her child. Sarah doesn't think she will ever get over that. Marlena encourages her to learn to live with it and blaming other people for her loss won't work. Sarah feels peace of mind is so far out of reach. Marlena assures that Sarah will find love again and might even have another child but she just needs to focus on what's right in her life. Sarah questions how to do that. Marlena suggests she admit what is real. Sarah asks if she means admitting that she still loves Xander. Marlena says it's all about how she feels. Sarah asks if she's saying she should forgive him. Marlena thinks that's entirely her decision. Sarah doesn't know what she wants. Marlena points out that she doesn't have to decide right now and they can talk about it if it helps. Sarah gets a call and steps away to answer. Marlena gets a call too and says she'll be right there.

Ciara asks Brady how exactly he got rid of Xander. Brady says it doesn't really matter as this is their first day back so they have better things to discuss. Ciara agrees and mentions apologizing to Victor for taking time off to help Ben's situation. Brady is glad she's back. Ciara tells him that she's been thinking a lot about the company's future and presents him with spreadsheets for the divisions and ideas to allocate Titan's assets. Brady appreciates her hard work but doesn't think it's the right approach. Ciara calls it a plan to cut costs and increase revenue. Brady tells her that he has other ideas and says they might be selling the Asian division. Ciara points out the whole company would take a huge hit and questions why he would do that.

Jake informs Ben that he's been trying to track down his ex-girlfriend ever since he got here and that's how he ended up in Salem in the first place since all clues led him here but as soon as he got to Salem, he ran out of money and needed a place to stay so he took the job at the garage. Ben asks why he doesn't just tell the guys that he doesn't have what they are looking for and that his ex took it. Jake responds that he doesn't know where she is but even if he did, he wouldn't say a word because they both know what those guys are capable of.

Gabi goes to the garage looking for Jake but finds nobody is there.

Sonny and Will bring Victor home. Victor complains about Will pushing him in the wheelchair but says it's better to be home than at the hospital. Victor adds that the place still seems sort of empty but then Maggie walks in with Xander. Xander informs Victor that the judge overturned her conviction and he tried to call but he couldn't get through. Xander decides he should go as he has things to do. Maggie thanks him as he exits. Sonny hugs Maggie and tells her it's good to have her home. Will congratulates her and tells her that he's really happy for her as he hugs her. Maggie thanks him for everything. Will and Sonny then exit the room. Victor calls Maggie a sight for sore eyes and asks if she has anything to say to him.

Xander goes to leave the Kiriakis Mansion right as Sarah arrives, surprised to see him.

Brady tells Ciara that the situation is a little more complicated than she realizes and he can't really get into it. Ciara is sure he has a ton on his plate. Brady promises to look over her proposals. Ciara decides they will talk later and exits Brady's office. Brady then drops Ciara's folder in the trash.

Jake informs Ben that he's been trying to lie low ever since he got to Salem, hoping these guys wouldn't find him but now that they have, it's only a matter of time before they come back. Jake says he needs to find his ex before they do as he hates to think of any woman being threatened by them.

Gabi goes to Jake's room at the garage and bags his toothbrush. She goes to leave with it but a man appears and questions if she's going somewhere.

Marlena visits Claire at the mental institution and says she got her call. Claire tells Marlena that she wants out as she's ready to come home.
