In looking at her calendar, Lani looks at the time of the month and realizes she's late so Eli asks if she's pregnant.

Kayla and Justin are at the Brady Pub together. Kayla comments that Justin hasn't looked up from his phone since they got there. Justin informs her that Steve and Hope are on the front page of the Spectator for being heroes that brought Orpheus to justice. Kayla points out that they did risk everything, brought John and Marlena back safely, and made Salem a safer place. Justin questions where the justice is when Steve had the chance to make Orpheus pay for killing Adrienne but he backed down. Justin asks why Steve didn't kill the bastard when he had the chance.

Steve is at home, reading the article about he and Hope as he mocks the idea of them being heroes.

Ben is at work when the two guys who beat him up return. They say this time they want answers.

Jake enters the interrogation room to see Gabi. Gabi tells him there is so much she needs to explain. Jake tells her to start by explaining why she tried to fry his brain.

Ben tells the men that he's not Jake. They say they figured they out so they ask where his boss is. Ben responds that he has no idea where Jake went but he'll let him know they stopped by. They warn Ben to tell them what they want to know or they will do this the hard way. Ciara then runs in and yells at them to stop.

Gabi tells Jake that she honestly thought the drug was going to bring back his memory. Jake points out that it's the same drug used on Abigail. Gabi argues that she didn't drug Abigail. Jake comments that she's handcuffed in the police department so the cops are pretty sure she did it. Gabi swears she was framed as she would never want to hurt him because she loves him.

Lani tells Eli that she's not saying she's pregnant but she's not usually late. Lani says that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Eli points out that it could mean she is pregnant with their baby. Eli suggests going to get a pregnancy test to find out.

Hope comes home and tells Steve about how exhausting wedding planning can be. Hope mentions that Ciara persuaded Julie to perform the ceremony. Steve responds that he's glad someone is happy. Steve tells Hope that the Spectator are making them out to be heroes for capturing Orpheus and stopping the bomb. Kate walks in and calls them the duo that saved Salem but they tell her to leave. Kate remarks that she is their former partner in crime.

Justin complains to Kayla that Steve couldn't pull the trigger and instead did nothing. Justin asks why he convinced him to hand over the gun if he wasn't going to shoot Orpheus. Kayla responds that she knows why he did it. Kayla says that Steve did it for Justin. Justin argues that he wanted Orpheus dead and that didn't happen. Kayla explains that Steve knows Justin is not a killer and didn't want him to become one. Justin doesn't want or need Steve to save him. Kayla is glad he did. Justin talks about Orpheus taunting him and saying he didn't have the guts or killer instinct like Steve. Kayla calls Justin a kind and compassionate man which is why she fell in love with him. Justin just wants Orpheus to pay for what he did to Adrienne. Kayla assures that he's going to and encourages him to believe in the legal system. Justin prays that she's right but Steve had the perfect chance to remove all doubt of justice being done and didn't take it. Justin thinks he knows why.

Steve questions Kate wanting to joke about Stefano and Dr. Rolf hijacking their lives. Kate tells them to get over it since Salem is free of Orpheus because of them so they are heroes. Kate says every word in the Spectator is true. Kate adds that she is the mayor's new director of communications, so she encouraged Jack to give them credit. Hope guesses that's why she is here as she wants them to thank her. Kate clarifies that she's here because Abe wants to give them a key to the city.

Eli and Lani go home. Eli says he was going to buy champagne to celebrate their engagement but if she's pregnant, that will have to wait. Lani reminds him that there are other reasons she could be late and they aren't even trying. Eli brings up a couple of times they weren't careful. Eli tells Lani he loves her and kisses her as she then goes to take the pregnancy test.

Ben tells Ciara to get out but she refuses. Ciara assures the men that he's not Jake so they need to leave him alone. They say they'll leave him alone as soon as he tells them where his boss is. Ciara tells them to go to hell. One of the men grabs Ciara and warns Ben to start cooperating or they're going to have fun with his girlfriend. Ben says he already told them he has no idea where Jake is and has no clue where he lives. One of the men holds Ben back while Ciara warns that they have no idea who they are dealing with. Ciara informs them that Ben is the necktie killer and they can google it if they don't believe her so they do and confirm it which shocks them. Ben suggests letting Ciara go or else, he'll find them and end this so they let Ciara go. They say they don't want trouble and just need back from Jake what he took from their boss. Ben says that's between them and Jake and he's out of it. They decide to leave but leave a warning to Jake that they'll be back and he better give them what they want as they exit. Ben hugs Ciara as she assures she's fine.

Gabi blames Dr. Rolf for setting her up and lying to her about the drug so she would get caught and blamed. Gabi tells Jake that she was trying to help him by injecting him with the drug. Jake says if Dr. Rolf set her up then he obviously lied to her about him being her dead husband but Gabi disagrees.

Steve guesses giving them the keys to the city was Kate's idea which she confirms. Kate feels the mayor should acknowledge citizens who have gone above and beyond to benefit the community. Steve remarks that they saved the lives of the same people they nearly killed not long ago. Hope feels they don't deserve it. Kate asks why they can't just let that go. Kate tells them to live in the present and stop blaming themselves for what Stefano and Gina did. Kate says they are going to acknowledge them as heroes in the proper way. Hope asks if they have no choice. Kate says otherwise they will appear ungrateful as she exits. Hope tells Steve that maybe it is time to try and let go of their guilt.

Justin tells Kayla that maybe Steve realized killing Orpheus would mean going to prison which would mean losing any chance of reconciling with her. Kayla questions him really believing that. Kayla assures that she's with Justin now. Justin suggests maybe she'd like a guy with killer instincts. Kayla asks if Orpheus really got in his head. Kayla insists that she chose Justin and has no regrets as they kiss. Justin admits he was wrong yesterday and apologizes for putting her through that. Justin adds that he probably owes Steve a thank you for stopping him from pulling the trigger but part of him felt like he owed it to Adrienne to punish the man who killed her. Kayla assures him that Adrienne wouldn't want him to throw everything away to avenge her death. Kayla adds that she would want him to enjoy the life they have now.

Eli and Lani wait for the pregnancy test results and it reveals Lani is pregnant. Eli exclaims that they are having a baby as he hugs her.

Ben tells Ciara that she could've got in a lot of trouble but Ciara says she had him to protect her so she wasn't worried. Ciara hopes it's okay that she outed him as the necktie killer. Ben understands she did what she had to do and it worked. Ciara worries that those guys are coming back for Jake. She wonders what Jake is hiding.

Jake tells Gabi that she can plead insanity. Gabi knows it sounds crazy but Dr. Rolf said somebody else could've brought Stefan back from the dead. Jake argues that he's never been dead while Stefan had his heart removed. Gabi doesn't know what to believe with Dr. Rolf but when she looks at Jake, she can't lose hope that he is her husband.

Eli didn't think he could be more excited or happy than when they got engaged. Eli asks if Lani is okay. Lani says she just wasn't expecting this and points out that sometimes the tests can give a false positive. Lani suggests a blood test to be sure. Eli decides they can go to the hospital now.

Justin tells Kayla that Adrienne always told him that Victor's ways of doing things didn't have to be his way and he needed to embrace the law, not break it. Justin declares that today he is going to focus on making sure Maggie doesn't spend another day in prison for a crime she didn't commit. Kayla asks if he has enough evidence to clear her. Justin confirms that Sonny was able to get a full confession out of Christian that says he and Orpheus were responsible for the accident. Kayla points out that Orpheus can be prosecuted for the accident as well. Justin says he will bury him so deeply behind bars that he'll never see the light of day. Kayla says she has to get to work so Justin decides to go with her to see Victor. Justin thanks Kayla for reminding him who he is. Kayla says she loves the man he is as they kiss and then exit the Pub.

Steve tells Hope that someone once told him that guilt is the most wasted emotion so maybe that's reason enough to put what they did behind them. Hope tells Steve that his guilt is the only thing holding him back from trying to be with Kayla.

Ben tells Ciara that he's going to have a serious talk with Jake when he gets back about what the hell is going on with him, the thugs, and the whole situation. Ben questions what Ciara was even doing here when he thought she was working on wedding plans with her mom. Ciara says she came by because she had an update as she reveals that Julie is going to marry them. Ciara admits she was reluctant because of her track record so she didn't want to jinx them and then they kiss. Ben says he only cares about her becoming his wife. Ciara says then he won't mind quitting his job.

Jake suggests Gabi put all her energy into a hobby. Gabi insists that she is his wife and he just has to remember that. Gabi says her and Stefan's love was complicated but it was real true love. Jake informs her that Kayla told him that Stefan ruined her life and her relationship with her true love so it sounds like they deserved each other. Gabi remarks that Kayla hates her. Jake brings up what Gabi did to her niece. Gabi questions what he wants. Jake says he came because it didn't add up that she would inject him with some dangerous hallucinogen if she claims to love him. Gabi repeats that she was framed. Jake says all he knows is that she's nothing but trouble so he hopes to God that he never sees her again. Gabi tells him that he's wrong about her and she's not the terrible person everyone tells him she is.

Steve tells Hope that Kayla is with Justin. Hope says that's because Steve pushed her away. Steve admits he should've come home instead of trying to fix the damage from when his Bionic Eye was hacked. Hope knows he was trying to do the right thing. Steve argues that he should've let it go and come home when Kayla begged him to but he didn't so of course she made a new life with Justin. Steve declares that she is happy and she's moved on. Hope knows Steve still loves Kayla so she asks if he can move on.

Justin runs in to Eli at the hospital and asks if everything is okay. Eli informs him that he brought Lani in to see Kayla because she might be pregnant.

Lani visits Kayla in her office and tells her that the home pregnancy test came back positive but she thought they should be sure. Kayla didn't know they were trying. Lani admits they weren't so it's not planned like last time. Kayla knows losing their last baby weighs on her so they can hold off discussing it until they find out if she's pregnant.

Gabi argues that Jake only knows one side of the story. Gabi admits that she did terrible things to Abigail but only after Abigail framed her for murder. Jake asks why Abigail isn't in prison then. Gabi blames her personality disorder and says it's a very complicated and long story but she ended up in prison for Abigail's crime and almost lost the relationship with her daughter. Gabi adds that an inmate beat her so badly that she can't have another child. Jake says he's sorry to hear that. Gabi argues that they were in love and then a bullet ended everything while now someone is trying to frame her so she could go to prison and lose her daughter all over again. Jake tells Gabi that he's sorry for her child and what she's been through but he's not her dead husband. Jake tells her to leave him the hell alone and storms out. Jake runs in to Kate and tells her that he's getting tired of everyone saying he looks like Stefan when he's not him. Jake then walks out of the station.

Ben questions Ciara wanting him to quit his job. Ciara says whatever Jake is mixed up with is way too dangerous so she doesn't want him here when those guys come back. Ben reminds her how hard it was for him to get a job and now he has a diamond ring to buy and a wedding to fund. Ciara questions what that will be worth if he ends up dead.

Lani thinks back to when her and Eli's first baby died. Kayla returns with her blood test results.

Justin congratulates Eli if Lani is pregnant. Eli notes they don't know for sure yet. Eli says a wedding and a baby is the dream. Justin hopes Kayla has some good news. Eli assures that either way, the wedding is happening soon. Eli realizes he's wasted too much time waiting to spend the rest of his life with Lani so he doesn't want to wait another second. Justin calls him a very wise man and realizes he has something very important to do as well as he then exits the hospital.

Steve tells Hope that he still loves Kayla which is why he pushed her towards Justin because he's the better man and puts her first always which she deserves. Hope argues that he made Kayla's decision for her. Steve says he always had a bad habit of that and he never meant to hurt her but that won't ever happen again. Hope questions when he became such a coward. Hope says Kayla may be very happy with Justin but this isn't how Steve lives or loves. Hope encourages him to talk to Kayla and tell her how he feels so she can make her own decision. Steve wouldn't blame her if she turned him down. Hope says at least he would have tried.

Kate enters the interrogation room where Gabi insists that Jake is Stefan. Kate says he clearly doesn't think so. Gabi says she's going to prove it to him. Kate says it looks like Gabi has bigger problems.

Ben tells Ciara that he has no intention of dying. Ciara asks if he will quit his job then. Ben says no but he will find out what's going on between Jake and these guys and he will put an end to it. Ciara worries but Ben points out that they now afraid that he will come after them. Jake returns to the garage and questions them just standing around. Ciara tells Jake that he's lucky Ben is alive because those thugs came back and this time threatened both of them. Jake asks if they are okay. Ciara says no but Ben says they are fine since Ciara scared them off by mentioning the necktie killer. Ben tells Jake that whatever they want, he has and they are coming back. Jake is sorry that Ben got mixed up in this. Ben needs an explanation, otherwise he quits and is not coming back until Jake can give him an answer on what's going on with him and these guys. Ben then exits with Ciara.

Lani comes out from Kayla's office. Eli notes that she doesn't look happy and asks if it was a false positive. Lani reveals that it was right that she is pregnant. Eli questions what's wrong then. Lani tells Eli that she doesn't think she can have this baby and then walks away.

Steve goes to see Kayla in her office.

Justin visits Adrienne's grave and says she wouldn't believe that he almost shot the man that killed her but Kayla convinced him that Adrienne wouldn't have wanted that. Justin says he'd be no good for their family behind bars so he's going to use the legal system to take Orpheus down and get justice for her. Justin states that Kayla kept him from making a horrible mistake and has also helped him to find joy again. Justin adds that he was reminded today that life is about seizing moments so he'd like to commit to Kayla. Justin says some people never find love while some people love for a lifetime. Justin has been blessed to love two incredible women. Justin declares that he is here to ask if Adrienne is okay with him asking Kayla to be his wife.

Kayla tells Steve that she wasn't expecting him. Steve asks if they can talk.
