Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 5/27/20

Ben gets ready for work and suggests to Ciara that they go see his nephew David afterwards. Ciara agrees and then shows Ben their wedding invitations. Ben jokes that he's not popular and doesn't have many people to invite so he says they could go small and simple. Ciara reminds him that he's not just marrying her but marrying into the Kiriakis, Horton, and Brady families so he'll have to get used to big crowds. Ben jokes that he doesn't want to share her as they kiss until there's a knock at the door. They answer the door to see Eli and Lani. Lani and Eli say they need to get Ben's statement on what he saw when Gabi attacked Jake.

Jake wakes up from a nightmare about Gabi injecting him with the syringe.

Gabi sits in the interrogation room, thinking back to when she kissed Jake. Gabi says to herself that she knows Dr. Rolf was lying when he said he didn't save Stefan. Gabi suggests it was a mind game and somebody else saved him. Gabi states that the love of her life is back but he hates her.

Chad brings Abigail home to the DiMera Mansion. Abigail declares that she is home but not for long. Chad offers to have something cooked for her but Abigail says she's not hungry and should start packing soon. Chad informs her that Jennifer already packed some stuff for her since she knew they wouldn't have much time. Chad assures that he will be with her every step of the way on this. Abigail tells Chad that she's scared that telling the kids that she's leaving will trigger a hallucination in front of them and she doesn't want them to see her like that. Abigail thinks she should just leave without seeing them and then Chad can tell them what happened. Chad disagrees and insists that he will protect her and the kids as they are in this together so that's how they will tell their children, together.

Ben tells Eli and Lani about he grabbed Gabi by the wrist to stop her from stabbing Jake with the syringe. Eli notes that it matches what Chad told them. Lani adds that it should be enough to put Gabi away for a very long time. Ciara remarks that she thinks Lani is being a little bit biased as she doesn't think Gabi intended to hurt Jake but she was just trying to get her husband back. Ciara talks about Ben being on death row and her determination to save him led to her doing some crazy things. Ciara says it's about loving someone so much that you'd be willing to do anything to save them or bring them back so Ciara gets how Gabi's grief drove her to do something really desperate.

Gabi says she has to find a way to prove that she's innocent and convince Jake that she's telling the truth. Jack bursts into the room and warns that Gabi ruined his daughter's life again so now she's going to pay.

Rafe and David walk through the town square and see Hope. Rafe praises Hope for what she did with the bomb. Hope blows it off and says she has to go. Rafe tells her that it's over and she's forgiven for what happened with Princess Gina so she can let it go and move on with her life. Hope responds that David is lucky to have him. Rafe adds that Ciara is lucky to have her. Rafe sends his congratulations to Ciara. Hope tells him to have a great day and walks away.

Lani thanks Ben for his help. Cira then gives Eli and Lani a wedding invitation. Eli congratulates them. Ciara says she'd really love it if they could be there. Lani says they would love to as she and Eli then exit. Ben calls Ciara very sweet as they kiss. Ben says he has to get to work to save up enough money to buy her a real ring so Ben then exits.

Jake works on a car at the auto shop garage but thinks back to arguing with Gabi at the hospital.

Jack yells at Gabi until Rafe walks in and pulls him back. Rafe reminds Jack that he's not the mayor anymore so he has no right to come in and harass her. Jack argues that Gabi turned his daughter's life upside down with the drugs she gave her to scramble her brain so now Abigail is leaving Salem. Jack informs them that Abigail is leaving for Florida today to start a treatment that they don't even know will work and she will be separated from her family and children. Gabi says she didn't know that and she's sorry. Jack calls that a confession.

Chad brings Thomas and Charlotte into the living room to see Abigail. Thomas says he knows Abigail is going away since he saw the suitcases upstairs. Chad talks about how the kids have to go to the doctor when they are sick and explains that Abigail hasn't been feeling well so she has to go to the doctor to get better. Thomas asks what's wrong with her. Abigail explains that she's seeing things that aren't really there. Abigail talks about being brave and facing her fears so she can go get help and get better. Abigail assures the kids that she loves them and Chad. Chad says they will be back but not right away. Chad praises Abigail as strong and brave but says she can't do it alone so he has to go with her. Chad says the kids will be staying with their grandparents. Thomas asks when they will be back. Chad says he doesn't know as it depends on how long it takes for Abigail to get better. Chad tells Thomas to be brave and promises they will be together again very soon.

Gabi argues that she is not confessing because she didn't drug Abigail. Gabi says she feels sorry for her being separated from her children and she's been through that so she wouldn't wish it on anybody. Jack responds that if the police do their job, Gabi will be separated from Arianna for a very long time so maybe Will and Sonny will raise her to be different from her mother. Rafe tells Jack to get out. Jack tells him to do his job as he storms out. Rafe tells Gabi that he's sorry about that. Gabi asks if David is okay. Rafe confirms that he is. Gabi thanks him for defending her just now. Rafe then asks if he was defending a guilty woman.

Ben goes to work and gives Jake a wedding invitation. Jake is curious as to why he'd be invited. Ben notes that he doesn't have a lot of friends and he appreciates Jake helping him get a job. Jake says he's a maybe and asks Ben to help him work on a car. Ben brings up the last time they talked and how he was considering the idea that he was really Stefan DiMera with amnesia. Ben asks if he still thinks that's possible.

Eli and Lani walk through the town square, talking about Ben and Ciara getting married. Lani calls it an epic love story and says they will finally get their happily ever after and they deserve it. Eli responds that he thinks they deserve their own happily ever after as they kiss. Eli then asks Lani when they are getting married. Eli brings up how they were all set a year and a half ago right here. Eli can't believe they would be husband and wife right now but decides he won't go there. Eli then pulls out the ring and says he's been carrying it around for weeks. Eli tells Lani that he wants to build a life with her and he's just been waiting for the right time to put the ring back on her finger. Eli hopes that moment is now as he then proposes to Lani.

Chad encourages the kids that they will have so much fun with their grandparents and adds that they can come visit in Florida. Jack and Jennifer walk in to greet them. Abigail has Thomas promise to look out for his sister. Abigail says she will be away but always in his heart. Chad takes Thomas upstairs with Jack so Abigail can talk with Jennifer. Jennifer hugs her as she holds back tears.

Jake tells Ben that he knows who he is and he's not Stefan DiMera. Ben thought he was having doubts. Jake informs him that if he was, it was all washed away yesterday when he went to the hospital and found out that the drug was some designer LSD that Gabi apparently dosed Abigail with.

Gabi tells Rafe that she's innocent and that Dr. Rolf set her up. Rafe questions why he would do that. Gabi talks about Rolf being loyal to Stefano and now he wants to send her to prison for her life. Gabi insists that Dr. Rolf set her up to take the fall by leading her to that drug. Gabi then guesses Dr. Rolf must have been the one who drugged Abigail. Gabi points out that the drug is an experimental compound being developed by DiMera Enterprises so Dr. Rolf could've had access to it. Rafe wants her to slow down but Gabi tells him to go to the prison to tell Rolf to admit what he did. Rafe then reminds Gabi that Dr. Rolf was already in prison when Abigail was drugged.

Ben tells Jake that there's plenty of bad blood between Gabi and Abigail but he doesn't see why Gabi would want to hurt him if she thinks he's Stefan. Jake calls Gabi crazy or homicidal but Ben doesn't think so. Ben says he saw everything between Gabi and Stefan and they were head over heels in love.

Lani tells Eli that she's just thinking about Abe and Julie arguing over who will perform the ceremony as she accepts Eli's proposal.. Eli puts the ring on her finger and says he loves her so much. Lani says she loves him with all of her heart as they kiss. Lani then asks Eli when they are doing this.

Jack sits with Abigail and talks about remembering teaching her how to ride a bike. Jack talks about how she got back up and never stopped trying. Jack says that is who Abigail will always be and he loves her. Jack hugs Abigail as she cries.

Lani tells Eli that Ciara and Ben's wedding is in July so that's out and Eric and Nicole are engaged so they'll be getting married soon too. Eli feels they've waited long enough so he wants to marry her as soon as possible so Lani starts looking through her calendar.

Ciara, Hope, and Julie eat together at the Brady Pub. Ciara asks Julie to officiate her wedding. Julie says she would be honored but she doesn't have a very good track record. Julie brings up Hope's wedding to Rafe where Claire interrupted and Gabi's wedding to Eli which Lani broke up. Julie thinks that she is officially bad luck. Ciara reminds her about Chad and Abigail's wedding which went very smoothly. Hope suggests the fourth time is the charm. Ciara then asks if it's all just an excuse because Julie doesn't approve of Ben.

Ben tells Jake that before Stefan and Gabi were in love, they hated each other. Jake says he's heard all about that. Ben remarks that alone they could be ruthless but together they were different. Ben knows it was real so if Gabi really thought Jake was Stefan, there's no way she knew the syringe would hurt him.

Rafe tells Gabi that he has guards that can confirm Dr. Rolf was behind bars when Abigail was drugged so he didn't do it. Gabi argues that he had somebody else do it for him so he needs to go talk to him. Gabi swears she did not do this as she would never hurt Stefan and she didn't drug Abigail.

Jennifer gives Abigail cookies from Julie. Jennifer wants her to get better and come home really soon. Jennifer says no matter where she is, she'll always be with her. Jack and Jennifer hug Abigail. Chad comes back in and announces that it's time.

Jake enters the interrogation room to see Gabi.

In looking at her calendar, Lani looks at the time of the month and realizes she's late.

Ben tells himself to get back to work if he's going to give Ciara the wedding she deserves.

Julie tells Ciara that it's no secret that she didn't approve of her and Ben but then he saved her life and she found out all these wonderful things about him. Julie knows how much they love each other so she agrees to marry them. Julie jokingly asks what are the odds of something going wrong the next time. Ciara thanks her and hugs her.

Chad tells Abigail that the kids wanted her to take their favorite toys. Abigail doesn't want to but Chad says they insisted so she agrees to. Abigail insists she will be fine and that she will beat this then she will come back home so there's nothing to worry about. Abigail declares that she's going to beat this because she has the love and support of an amazing family. Abigail and Chad hug Jack and Jennifer goodbye. Chad and Abigail then exit together.
