Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 5/20/20

Ben joins Ciara in the town square, where she is tasting wedding cakes. Ben tells her that he wants whatever she wants but she insists on him tasting the cakes as they kiss.

Victor is on the phone with Justin from his hospital bed, demanding that Maggie be let out of prison now. Victor tells Justin to just get it done and hangs up. Xander enters the room and tells Victor that he just came from the prison and that Maggie is okay as learning she did not cause the accident has taken a weight off. Victor says she's lucky that Xander made it to save her life and that she needs to heal now at home. Victor asks if he told Sarah the good news that Maggie is not responsible for the baby's death or Adrienne's. Xander responds that he spent most of the night looking for Sarah but he couldn't find her anywhere.

Sarah wakes up in the bed of Brady's hotel room at the Salem Inn. Brady comes out from the shower and greets her, leaving Sarah confused.

Abigail wakes up in her hospital bed and hallucinates seeing Gabi as a nurse trying to inject her with medication until Chad comes in to check on her. Abigail tells him about her hallucination but says she knows it wasn't real. Chad confirms that Gabi wasn't there but says she did do the same thing to someone else last night.

Jake works at the auto shop garage and thinks back to Gabi telling him that it's up to him to decide who he wants to be.

Gabi goes to the hospital and tells Kayla that she needs her help. Kayla responds that she's in the middle of something. Gabi grabs Kayla's tablet away and tells her that her hospital has something that belongs to her and she wants it so she needs her help. Kayla questions if they stole something from her as she takes her tablet back. Gabi tells her that it was Ben.

Ben decides on the praline cake and then he and Ciara start talking about a date for the wedding. Ben wants to get her a real diamond ring first and suggests it will take about two months worth of his salary. Ciara concludes that means they will be getting married at the end of July. Ben says he's counting down the days already as they kiss. Ben hates to leave but has to get to work so he kisses her and then walks off.

Victor states that they were trying to protect Maggie but they broke Sarah's heart with what they put her through and it wasn't even necessary because of Orpheus. Victor wishes they knew the truth from the beginning. Xander hopes that when Sarah learns Maggie wasn't responsible for her baby's death, it will bring her some comfort. Victor says that's if he ever gets to speak to her again. Xander notes that he has to find her first as he looked all over Salem. Xander then realizes there may be one place he didn't look.

Sarah says she's an idiot and that drinking isn't the answer. Brady understands she's in pain and says he tried to slow down her drinking but she wasn't having it. Brady asks if she remembers anything at all. Sarah recalls toasting to getting even with Xander and Victor then she ordered a bottle of champagne and drank it all. Brady mentions offering to drive her home but she didn't want to see Xander so he brought her here. Sarah then asks if they slept together but Brady assures that they did not. Sarah is relieved and says she tends to jump into bed with whoever when she gets overwhelmed like she slept with Xander after finding out that Rex cheated on her. Brady says that Xander and Victor made her fall in love with a baby that wasn't hers and that kind of pain doesn't just go away. Sarah relates to Brady that neither does the pain of giving up the chance to raise your daughter with the woman you love. Brady responds that they are not the only victims since they set out to protect Maggie but ended up just compounding her guilt and grief. Sarah mentions telling Maggie that she forgave her but she still seemed sad. Brady declares that all of Victor and Xander's lies and games has got to end. Brady knows he and Sarah decided to team up last night to take them down but he knows Maggie is her mother and she happens to be Victor's wife so he gets it if Sarah wants out. Sarah responds that Maggie deserves so much better than a man as toxic as Victor so there is nothing that she wants more than for Victor and Xander to pay for what they did to them.

Xander suggests maybe Sarah reached out to Brady about seeing the baby again as he can only imagine how much she misses her. Victor doubts Brady will let Sarah anywhere near the girl since she ran off with her. Xander feels it's worth a try since Sarah needs to know her mother is innocent. Victor knows he's hoping that it will bounce him back into her good graces. Xander says they broke Sarah's heart and he can't forgive himself for that so he'll never stop trying to make it up to her to prove how much he loves her.

Gabi tells Kayla that she had the drug that will get Stefan's memory back. Kayla tells her that Stefan is dead. Gabi says he's not. Kayla knows he was brain dead and she donated her heart to Julie. Gabi tells her that Dr. Rolf told her that he saved Stefan. Kayla calls that impossible but Gabi argues that anything is possible with Rolf. Kayla blames her grief. Gabi insists that he is alive and she had the drug to restore his memory. Kayla asks how Ben fits in to all of this. Gabi says Ben took her syringe and brought it here so she wants it back now.

Chad explains to Abigail that Ben was able to stop Gabi from injecting Jake with whatever was in the syringe. Abigail questions why Gabi was trying to do this to a guy that looks like Stefan. Chad says he doesn't know but she needs to be stopped. Eli enters with Lani and says he got Chad's message. Chad thanks him and says he wants Gabi arrested now. Eli knows he's angry but they don't have any proof. Chad informs Eli that Gabi struck again last night and this time, he can prove it.

Ben goes to work and tells Jake that he's sorry he's late. Jake tells him not to worry as he still owes him for saving him from Gabi's syringe. Ben asks if she gave him any more trouble after he left. Jake says she was still trying to convince him that he is her dead husband. Ben points out that Jake's heart is beating in his chest and not someone else's. Jake notes that Gabi actually believes it. Ben questions if Gabi is getting to her and if he's starting to think he could actually be Stefan DiMera.

Lani tells Chad that Ben as a witness to Gabi trying to inject Jake is a good start but questions why Jake didn't report it to the police. Eli explains that when he investigated the assault on Ben at the garage, he got the impression that Jake is not a fan of the cops. Chad says they don't need Jake as they have Ben as a witness and he turned the drug over to Marlena to be analyzed. Chad asks if they have enough now to put Gabi behind bars. Eli agrees to check it out so he and Lani exit. Chad tells Abigail that they finally have enough to put Gabi in prison so she can't hurt anyone else. Abigail points out that she's still having hallucinations and no one knows how to stop it. Chad responds that he may have a solution to that.

Ciara goes to visit Victor at the hospital and asks how he's doing. Victor says he's ready to get out. Ciara asks about Maggie since Hope told her everything and he must be relieved. Victor says they just need to get her home so she can heal. Ciara knows how much he loves her and wants to be with her. Victor calls Maggie the love of his life and says it's the best news that her nightmare is over and she will be home soon. Ciara informs him that she actually has some news of her own as she reveals that she and Ben are engaged. Victor questions that being good news.

Jake tells Ben that he has a lifetime of his own memories so he asks how he could be Stefan DiMera but Gabi claims that Dr. Rolf has implanted other people with fake memories which Ben confirms as true. Jake asks if that means Gabi could be right that his memories could be fake. Ben asks if he wants her to be right. Jake questions what if the drug could make him access his real memories if it were true. Ben says they don't know what that drug is for real which is why he brought it to his therapist to have it analyzed at the hospital but he hasn't heard back yet. Jake says the whole thing is so weird that it's probably not true. Ben says if he thought that he was really Stefan and if he knew the drug was safe, he would tell him to take it. Jake asks if Ben doesn't think he is Stefan. Ben calls Stefan a good friend of his and says he misses him but he thinks that Gabi is so desperate to believe the impossible because she loved Stefan so much.

Kayla questions Gabi trying to inject a mechanic with one of Dr. Rolf's potions which she admits to. Kayla remarks that she really does belong behind bars. Gabi points out that she didn't actually do it. Kayla says she's lucky that Ben intervened. Gabi argues that if not for Ben, she would have her husband back but he wanted the serum analyzed. Kayla reminds her that she's a suspect in Abigail's drugging and now she goes to try and drug an innocent man. Gabi states that the only illegal act is that Ben stole her serum and the only chance she has to be with the man she loves.

Brady asks if Sarah is feeling better because they are going to have to be on their A game to take on Victor and Xander. Sarah asks if there is a plan. Brady says he will put it in motion this morning and their first order of business is to get her back on her feet then he'll come back to fill her in. Sarah thanks him for taking care of her. Brady is glad he was there for her. Brady goes to leave when Xander shows up and sees Sarah inside. Brady tells him to leave. Sarah says it's okay and she'll handle him. Brady asks if she's sure. Sarah thanks him and holds his hand, telling him that she will see him later. Brady tells Xander that he has plans for him and then exits. Xander questions Sarah as to what is happening. Sarah asks what it looks like.

Ciara wants Victor's blessing. Victor says he'd love to give it but he can't because she deserves better than the necktie killer. Ciara tells him that she loves Ben. Victor argues that it will pass. Ciara brings up that Ben saved her life more than once and saved Julie's life. Ciara calls him the best man she knows and says he's worked incredibly hard to put his past behind him. Ciara says he shows her every day what real love is and if Victor could see the man he is now, he would understand that. Victor calls her stubborn like her father. Ciara jokes that Bo got it from him. Victor warns that she's making a big mistake. Ciara says if she was, it's her mistake to make. Ciara stops to tell Victor that she quits.

Ben tries calling Marlena but is told that she is not reachable. Ben tells Jake that he would go to the hospital but they promised a customer they would have his repair done before lunch. Jake points out that he's the one who almost got stabbed with the syringe so maybe the lab will talk to him. Jake asks Ben to hold down the fort as he then exits.

Gabi threatens to sue the hospital for making her believe her husband was dead when he isn't if Kayla doesn't give her back the drug immediately. Kayla asks what proof she has and calls it ridiculous. Gabi says everyone will see her husband is alive and well, warning that she will lose the lawsuit. Kayla agrees to go check the lab and walks away. Gabi then runs in to Eli and Lani, who want a statement on her assault on Jake with a syringe. Gabi argues that she did not assault him. Lani says that's not what Ben told Chad. Gabi says Ben has a big mouth. Lani adds that Ben is also a witness so maybe this time she will end up in prison where she belongs.

Chad informs Abigail that he got a call from an expert doctor in Florida, who Marlena thinks can really help her. Abigail asks when he will be here but Chad reveals he won't be here so Abigail asks if he's going to commit her again. Chad promises he would never do that again and calls that the worst mistake of his life. Chad says they do need to figure out her hallucinations so he thinks it's exciting that this doctor wants to help. Abigail asks if this means leaving Salem.

Gabi guesses Lani isn't over the fact that Eli fell in love with her. Lani says she's not over that Gabi threatened to blow up an innocent woman's heart for revenge. Gabi argues that Lani put a bullet in her husband. Eli asks about the assault. Gabi says she's trying to help Stefan remember who he is. Lani reminds her that Stefan's heart was removed from his body and put into Julie's. Lani suggests she come down to the station. Jake then arrives at the hospital. Lani admits that he does look like Stefan. Gabi tells him that Lani is the woman who shot him. Jake introduces himself to Lani. Eli brings up that they were told that Gabi assaulted him with a syringe. Jake says that's why he's here because he wants to know more about the drug she tried to inject him with. Gabi asks if that means he believes her.

Victor questions Ciara quitting Titan when he thought she liked her job. Ciara argues that Victor only offered her the job to get her away from Ben and she only accepted because he promised to back off and give them peace. Ciara says she only stayed on the last couple months because she was convinced that he and Xander framed Ben for murder and she wanted to expose them. Victor points out that they didn't. Ciara says she knows they didn't but that he also never gave Ben a break. Ciara asks how she can expect Victor to trust her business decisions if he can't trust her choice in men. Victor argues that they are family. Ciara says that's not nearly enough of a recommendation, pointing out that Xander is family and he's a tool. Victor argues that Xander just saved Maggie's life. Ciara admits she's grateful for that but questions trusting him completely to be CEO. Victor feels there's nothing wrong with keeping tabs on what's going on and he wants someone he trusts to keep an eye on Xander which is why he needs Ciara. Victor asks if she's interested. Ciara agrees to consider changing her mind about working with Xander if Victor changes his mind about Ben. Ciara assures that she really loves Ben and that he's going to buy her a ring. Victor then agrees that if Ciara stays with Titan, he will do his best to accept Ben. Ciara wants more than him doing his best so Victor agrees to accept Ben as the man she loves. Ciara then hugs Victor and thanks him.

Xander questions if Sarah slept with Brady. Sarah says she doesn't want to kiss and tell. Xander argues that Brady just got his daughter back and Kristen's in prison so he questions now Brady being with her. Xander asks where the baby is anyways. Sarah guesses he hasn't heard that Rachel is gone and so is Kristen. Xander asks what she's talking about. Sarah explains that Kristen knew she would be prosecuted for stabbing Victor if she ever stepped foot back in Salem so she took Rachel and disappeared. Xander questions Brady just letting her go. Sarah says he wanted her to have the opportunity to raise her child so he has lost his daughter and the woman he loves. Sarah remarks that Xander's baby switching has gutted them all and blames him for letting her bond with the baby when he knew the truth. Sarah tells Xander that she doesn't want to hear any more excuses or explanations because he and Victor destroyed everything she thought she knew about her life. Sarah says that Brady understood her pain because it his pain too and then one thing led to another. Xander knows how angry she is. Sarah tells him to go as she goes to shower.

Chad tells Abigail that they are going to leave Salem as he and the kids will go with her. Abigail points out that she will have to stay at the clinic. Chad assures that they will be nearby and see her every day. Abigail asks about DiMera and Chad just getting back in charge. Chad says being her husband is more important than anything else in the world. Chad offers to call and tell him they are set because he thinks it's best. Abigail argues that they can't do this to their kids as she doesn't want to uproot them. Chad says they did when they went to Paris. Abigail says it's different since Thomas is older and has friends now. Abigail wants them to have a normal life. Chad kisses her and suggests leaving the kids with her parents while he goes with her. Abigail then suggests she could go by herself.

Ben continues working at the garage when Ciara shows up. Ben tells her about Jake going to check on the status of the drug at the lab. Ben thinks Gabi is starting to convince Jake that he might be Stefan.

Gabi gets excited thinking that Jake believes her but Jake says he's only here because Ben said the syringe was being analyzed and he's curious. Gabi assures that they will get his memory back. Jake says his memory is just fine and asks if Gabi is always this difficult. Eli says he has no idea. Gabi complains about Kayla taking so long. Eli reminds her that they are in an investigation and the drug could be evidence. Gabi argues that it belongs to her and when she gives it to Stefan, he will remember how in love they were and the amazing life they had.

Brady goes to see Victor at the hospital. Victor tells him that he deserves everything he wants to say. Brady says that's not why he is here. Victor says he doesn't want his forgiveness as he doesn't expect it so he's not going to ask for it but he hopes one day that Brady will let him make it up to him, especially now that he has his daughter back. Brady reveals to him that he doesn't have Rachel back. Victor doesn't understand and assumes Kristen is in jail but Brady tells him that she's not in jail. Brady declares that Kristen and his daughter are gone and it's Victor's fault.

Ciara informs Ben that she got Victor's blessing which surprises him and then they kiss.

Victor questions Brady letting Kristen run off with his child. Brady argues that she deserves to be with the daughter that she thought was dead because of him and if she comes back to Salem, she'll go to prison because of him. Brady feels it's the least he could do for the woman he loves, given the crap that Victor and Xander put her through. Victor admits they made mistakes but says it was out of love as he does love him. Brady responds that he has a funny way of showing it. Victor wants to prove it to him and offers to do anything he wants. Brady tells him to fire Xander then.

Sarah comes out of the shower and questions why Xander is still there. Xander argues that she slept with Brady to hurt him. Sarah tells him that he is out of her life and tells him to get out of the room. Xander then reveals that while she was sleeping with his cousin to punish him, he saved her mother from committing suicide which shocks her.

Lani asks if Jake wants to press charges. Gabi argues that she didn't assault him. Kayla comes back from the lab and says she has the results of the analysis and knows what was in the syringe. Gabi insists it was the serum to help Stefan get his memory back. Kayla then reveals it was actually the same compound used in the drugging of Abigail.

Chad tells Abigail that they are a team. Abigail says he could be one part of the team that stays with the kids while she goes to take care of herself so she can make their family whole again. Abigail tells him that the kids need their dad while Chad says he needs his wife. Chad says he promised to never abandon her again and that whatever they go through, they go through together as he hugs her.
