Orpheus informs Marlena that he's holding John prisoner as they speak so if she wants him back, she'll have to do exactly as he says. Marlena question if he will hurt John if she doesn't give him enough money to kidnap his own grandson, warning that it won't go well. Orpheus assures that he's holding all the cards so if she wants to see her husband alive again, she's going to have to follow his instructions.

Rafe asks Zoey if she's sure her brother was being straight with her about Orpheus framing Maggie for a crash that he caused. Zoey tells him how sorry she is that her father and brother caused heartache to so many people. Rafe wants to get Maggie out of prison as soon as possible but first they have to put Orpheus behind bars. Zoey asks what she can do to help. Rafe says he needs a signed statement from her and her brother. Rafe then gets a text from his babysitter that she has to leave on time tonight. Zoey offers to take her over as David's aunt. Rafe appreciates her coming to him with this new information but he still doesn't trust her with his son.

Brady knows Eric loves Rachel but tells him to understand that Kristen loves her too and will not let any harm happen to her. Eric questions what kind of life that will be and if Brady even thought of him and Sarah. Eric says all he thinks about is Brady telling him that everything will be alright and that he'd still be apart of Rachel's life but now he's afraid he'll never see her again. Brady doesn't know what to tell him and says he's sorry as he then exits the apartment. Nicole then hugs Eric.

Victor goes through his mail that Xander brought him and opens a letter that Maggie wrote, saying she is writing him to say goodbye.

Maggie finishes writing a letter to Sarah in prison. She reads it over, saying how much it means that Sarah came to her and forgave her but she doesn't deserve her forgiveness after causing the death of her baby and Adrienne. Maggie says the pain she caused all of them is too much and she can't live with that.

Marlena says until Orpheus proves that he has John and that he's alive, she won't give him a cent. Orpheus pulls out his phone and shows her a photo of John holding today's newspaper. Orpheus says it's up to her whether he lives to see tomorrow's paper. Marlena asks what he wants.

Rafe reminds Zoey that they are in a custody battle over David so he's not going to let her babysit him. Zoey says if she does something stupid like take off with him, he would track them down and then no judge would give her custody. Rafe says he doesn't have time to argue as he needs to put her dad behind bars. Zoey points out that he can't do that until he finds a qualified babysitter and that person is right in front of him. Rafe really doesn't like this and warns her about searching his house for incriminating evidence. Rafe tells her to get going and he'll let David's babysitter know that his aunt is on her way so Zoey then exits. Xander enters the room and asks if Sarah has been arrested for running off with the baby but Rafe tells him she's not here. Rafe tells Xander that he has something to tell him about Maggie. Xander asks if something happened to her in prison. Rafe points out that she wouldn't have been in prison if it wasn't for him.

Maggie continues reading over her letter to Sarah, saying what Xander and Victor did was horrible and they did it to protect her because she drove drunk. Maggie declares that she's the reason so many people have suffered so terribly.

Victor guesses Maggie's letter is saying she wants a divorce but then he continues reading where she talked about wanting to be by his side after he was stabbed. Maggie writes that she hopes he understands the lord spared him so he can make amends to all the people he hurt, suggesting that he beg Brady for his forgiveness.

Brady goes to the Brady Pub and calls Theresa to ask if he can talk to Tate so she puts him on the phone. Brady talks about missing him and wishing they could be closer. Brady mentions that he will try to visit soon and says he loves him as he then hangs up. Brady states that where ever Rachel is, he loves her too. Brady looks at a glass of alcohol next to him on the bar but Sarah appears and stops him, asking if he's nuts.

Nicole tells Eric that she's not saying Brady is right but it was an impossible situation since if Brady went on the run with them, he would never see Tate again. Eric argues that he could've let Kristen go to prison then he would've got full custody of Rachel and they'd all be there to help him. Nicole guesses Brady watched what Kristen went through when believing Rachel was dead and he couldn't take the baby from her a second time.

Sarah questions if Brady was about to get drunk after just getting his daughter back. Brady says he wasn't and then thanks Sarah for bringing Rachel back to them. Sarah admits she shouldn't have run away with her but she went crazy for a minute. Brady states that Kristen did too. Sarah asks how Kristen is doing, knowing she's going to prison instead of raising her daughter. Brady says it was killing her which Sarah questions. Brady informs her that Kristen took off and he let her take her daughter with her.

Rafe informs Xander of the new news. Xander recalls finding Maggie in the car that night, wasted. Rafe explains that Orpheus drugged her before he and his son kidnapped her, then after the crash they moved her to the driver's seat with vodka around her. Xander realizes Maggie didn't cause the crash. Rafe confirms that Orpheus and his son argued and swerved towards Adrienne's car so Maggie is not responsible for Adrienne or the baby's death. Rafe declares that Maggie is not guilty of anything.

Victor continues reading Maggie's letter, saying he has to accept that Brady loves Kristen if he wants Brady back in his life. Maggie writes that she didn't deserve to be protected as Brady and Kristen could've been spared the pain that Eric and Sarah are feeling now of losing little Mickie forever.

Maggie continues reading her letter to Sarah, encouraging her to keep going and find happiness again. Maggie writes that she will regret not getting to see her raise her future children.

Orpheus says he knows Marlena and John are wealthy so he figures 10 million dollars would be enough to provide his grandson with the kind of life he deserves. Orpheus says he will set up an offshore account for her to wire it too but if she even attempts to contact the police, John dies. Orpheus adds that he will contact her about it as he exits her office. Marlena then exits as well.

Zoey goes to Rafe's to babysit David. She says that she is his aunt and she loves him so much already. She adds that his dad can't take care of him anymore but he loves him and so does Rafe. Zoey says his mom isn't here anymore so she thinks it's best that he's with the family that is still here. Orpheus walks in and says he couldn't agree more. Zoey questions what he's doing here. Orpheus responds that he's here for his grandson.

Rafe tells Xander to get out as he has work to do. Xander remembers calling Victor as soon as he found Maggie but now nothing he told him was the truth. Rafe remarks that if Xander would've kept his mouth shut, Maggie would've been arrested and breathalyzed so they would've found out she had no alcohol in her system and she would've found out that she didn't kill Adrienne or her granddaughter. Rafe tells him to let that be a lesson to him. Xander decides he has to find Sarah as she deserves to know that her mother didn't kill Mickie so he rushes out of the room.

Sarah questions Brady letting Kristen take his baby and asks if he's out of his mind. Sarah calls Kristen an unstable, violent mess and says she gave Rachel back because she assumed Brady would be there to keep Kristen in line. Sarah worries that she will never see the baby again or know that she's alright. Brady says that's not true as Sarah takes a drink. Brady says that losing Rachel changed Kristen but Sarah doesn't see a difference. Brady adds that if he had any doubt, he never would've handed Rachel off to her. Sarah hopes he's right. Sarah declares that so much suffering could've been avoided, if Xander hadn't switched the babies. Brady points out that it wasn't all up to Xander as it was Victor's doing.

Victor continues reading Maggie's letter where she writes that she hopes someday Sarah will get past the pain and misery she caused her but she knows that she'll never get past it and there is no way for her to live with all the guilt she feels so now she is going to take her own life. Victor tries reaching for his phone on the end table.

Maggie continues reading her letter to Sarah, saying she's incredibly proud of her and sorry for what she's done to her life. Maggie repeats that she doesn't deserve her forgiveness and she knows what she has to do so by the time Sarah gets the letter, she will be gone. Maggie finishes the letter, writing that she loves Sarah and then signs it.

Eric tells Nicole that he's not in the mood to talk about fairness, arguing that Kristen is a fugitive on the run with a little girl who had cancer. Nicole points out that Kristen has unlimited resources so she will make sure Rachel gets the proper care. Eric can't believe Nicole is sticking up for Kristen and what Brady did. Nicole asks what if it was them and if Eric would take the baby away from her and let her go to prison. Eric argues that she would never stab Victor but Nicole reminds him that she tried to kill Victor because he drives people to that. Nicole adds that if she believed Victor took Holly from her, she would do just what Kristen did.

Rafe makes a call at the police station trying to find a lead on the location of Orpheus. Marlena arrives and informs him that she just saw him. Rafe asks what happened. Marlena explains that Orpheus came to her office and he has John, demanding a 10 million dollar ransom. Rafe thanks her for coming. Marlena says Orpheus told her not to but she had to because he wants the money so he can get David and leave with him forever.

Orpheus tells Zoey that he wasn't expecting to find her here given the custody lawsuit. Zoey says she and Rafe have one common interest and that's what's best for David. Orpheus questions her befriending Rafe and argues that she will botch the lawsuit like she did Christian's trial. Zoey argues that she did her best and Christian was found guilty because he is guilty. Orpheus says all he knows is that his only son is in prison for a long time so he's not going to let the cop who put him there take his grandson. Orpheus orders Zoey to get David ready to travel and pack his bag.

Victor grabs his phone and calls the prison, saying he needs to speak with the warden but they put him on hold. Victor hangs up and calls Xander, who tells him to get to the prison right away because he got a letter from Maggie that she's going to try to kill herself. Xander tells him to call the prison but Victor says he already did and they put him on hold. Victor tells Xander to get there as soon as he can as he can't lose Maggie.

Maggie puts her letter to Sarah in an envelope and places it on her prison bed.

Rafe calls for three units to his home since Orpheus may be inside with his son. Rafe says he's on his way and hangs up. Rafe thanks Marlena for coming to him and says he understands the risk she's taking. Marlena says it's what John would want her to do. Rafe then hurries out of the station.

Orpheus waits for Zoey to get David. Her phone then rings with a call from Rafe but Orpheus rejects the call. Zoey comes back in to the room without David and says he deserves better than being on the run with an ex-con who kills people. Orpheus questions her judging him and says he won't be on the run since thanks to the ISA, he's in the clear. Zoey says not completely and brings up Orpheus causing an automobile accident while attempting to kidnap Maggie Kiriakis which resulted in the deaths of Adrienne and a child then framed Maggie for the accident, so she's in prison. Orpheus responds that whatever Christian told is protected as his attorney and she's too smart to get herself disbarred. Orpheus grabs her and asks if she told anyone, warning that if she did, she'll be sorry she was born.

Sarah tells Brady that she can't stop thinking about what Xander and Victor did because of how many lives were sent in to a tail spin because they decided to play God. Brady says he sees Victor so clearly now as a manipulative old man who pulls the rug out from under people and watches them fall while he always lands on his feet, just like he will now.

Victor calls the prison again, demanding to be connected to the warden but he's put on hold again.

Xander arrives at the prison and says he has to talk to Maggie now but he's told that visiting hours are over. Xander tells the guard to order a suicide watch because she just wrote to Victor that she's going to kill herself. He remarks that women always stay stuff like that. Xander demands to be taken to her cell but he tells him to get the hell out of here.

Maggie rips up a bed sheet in her cell.

Zoey tells Orpheus that he's right that she's not that stupid. Orpheus orders her to get David and pack his bag. Zoey points out that Rafe will be here any minute so he might have to put off his plan. Orpheus refuses to go anywhere without David. They get a phone alert that there's an APB out on Orpheus for the kidnapping of Maggie Kiriakis and vehicular manslaughter. Orpheus then grabs Zoey by the throat and pins her against the door, calling her a traitorous little bitch.

Eric tells Nicole that he doesn't know what he would do if it had been her and their child. Nicole responds that she wasn't exactly a model citizen when she ran off with Holly but she learned how to be her mother and she changed. Eric recalls Brady finding them and helping them. Nicole assures that Brady remembers that time and maybe that's why he is so confident about Kristen and Rachel. Eric wonders if he was too hard on him. Nicole notes that at least Eric got to be part of Rachel's life while Brady didn't, so she knows he's hurting.

Sarah tells Brady that Xander keeps leaving her messages about how sorry he is which they mock. Sarah wants Xander to pay for what he did to them. Brady says he's going to beat it and have a ton of Titan lawyers to clean up any mess. Sarah doesn't understand how Victor fired Brady and replaced him with Xander. Brady informs her that it happened right after the accident and was Victor paying Xander off for fixing things. Brady declares that Xander stole his job and cost him his daughter so he may not go to jail, but he will pay.

Xander orders a bed check on Maggie's area but the guard says he doesn't take orders from him. Xander asks if he really wants Victor Kiriakis' wife to kill herself on his watch. He says he will check on her after he runs Xander out but Xander knocks him out, steals his keys and rushes out.

Maggie ties the torn sheet around the bed post and prepares to hang herself.

Nicole knows it will take a long time for Eric to heal from this but she and Holly are here for him for as long as it takes. Eric thanks her for helping him understand what Brady did and why he did it. Eric notes that Brady is all alone while he has Nicole and Holly so he's truly blessed as they kiss.

Marlena goes home and looks at a photo of John. She says she knows how much he wants that little boy safe. Marlena then makes a call saying she needs someone's help.

Rafe comes home to find Zoey tied up and gagged, realizing Orpheus was already there. Rafe removes the gag and Zoey tells him that Orpheus took David.

Sarah tells Brady that she doesn't think she will get through this if she doesn't stay active somehow. Brady says they understand grief and suffering. Sarah suggests finding a way to help people going through the same thing. Brady calls that a good idea. They suggest making Victor and Xander pay in ways they never dreamed of and then fix it so they can never hurt another one of their loved ones again. Sarah and Brady then toast to sweet revenge.

Victor realizes he won't get through to the prison in time to save Maggie so it's up to Xander now. Victor says that he can't lose her.

Xander rushes in to Maggie's cell and finds her unconscious with the bed sheet tied around her neck.
