Ben gives Ciara her fortune cookie to open. She opens the cookie and the fortune inside reads "Will you marry me?"

Hope is at home, texting Ciara that she would love to catch up as she feels like it's been forever. Steve comes in and mentions today is the one year anniversary of Adrienne's death so he's finally going to pay his respects to his sister.

Justin visits Adrienne's grave with flowers. He can't believe it's been a year since he lost her. Justin talks about Maggie being in prison for causing the crash and she just found out the accident also took the life of Sarah's baby while the daughter that Sarah thought was hers was Kristen and Brady's thanks to Xander and Victor switching the babies. Justin says he misses how Adrienne used to be there to listen. Kayla then appears behind him.

Brady and Xander enter the apartment in Paris but find that it's empty. Brady goes to check the bedroom while Xander finds one of the baby's toys and declares that Sarah was definitely there.

Sarah says it's almost time to board the train so they should get going. Kristen then appears in front of her at the station and questions where the hell she thinks she's going with her baby. Sarah asks how she found her. Kristen says all that matters is that she's here and she's not going to let her take her baby from her for another second. Rachel wakes up crying so Sarah picks her up from the stroller and says that she is her daughter. Sarah declares that no one is ever going to take her away from her.

Kayla tells Justin that she didn't mean to intrude. Justin asks how she found him. Kayla figured he'd be there since it was one year since he lost Adrienne. Kayla says she came to apologize but sees now that he needs his time alone so she will go. Justin stops her and tells her to talk to him. Kayla doesn't think this is the time or place. Justin says it's fine as he was just about to leave so he asks what she came to tell him. Kayla tells Justin that he was right and the truth is that she was upset about Steve going home with Hope. Kayla doesn't think anything is going on with them but she's upset that Steve went home with anyone but her.

Hope tells Steve that it's kind of late to be visiting Adrienne's grave so she suggests going tomorrow. Steve responds that he's a year late already as he should've been there for her funeral. Hope insists it wasn't his fault. Steve states that he's going to try to make up for it now.

Ben gets down on one knee and officially proposes to Ciara. Ciara says yes and they kiss.

Brady guesses Xander is happy that Sarah got away but Xander says he wants to find them as much as he does. Brady wonders if Sarah is with Rex and hopes that Theo tracked his phone. Rex returns to the apartment and questions what the hell they are doing here. Xander asks where Sarah is. Rex responds that she left with the baby. Xander questions him not stopping her. Rex explains that she knocked him out and tied him up. Brady realizes that's why his call ended abruptly. Xander asks if he has any idea where she's going. Rex says he has no idea but Kristen showed up so they split up to check the train stations and he hopes she had better luck than he did.

Sarah tells Kristen that they have a train to catch. Kristen tells Sarah that she can go whenever she wants but her little girl is staying with her. Sarah tells her to get out of her way. Kristen tells Sarah that she is not her daughter, her name is Rachel, and she is her and Brady's daughter. Kristen talks about the babies being switched by Xander and Victor. Sarah argues that she has been her mother every second of every day. Sarah cries about taking care of her. Kristen understands how much she loves her. Sarah talks about getting her through cancer. Kristen responds that it should've been her during all those moments but it was stolen from her. Sarah calls Kristen a bad person who does horrible things and hurts people. Sarah argues that Kristen is not capable of being a good mother so the best thing she can do is keep her away from her. Sarah says if Kristen ever loved the baby, she would just let them go but Kristen says that's not going to happen.

Justin apologizes to Kayla for being harsh earlier and says it's hypocritical for him to be in front of Adrienne's grave after he just went off on her for being upset about Steve. Justin says he's been reminded that losing someone doesn't mean your feelings for that person go away. Kayla knows how much Adrienne loved him and how lucky she was to have his love. Steve and Hope then arrive at the grave site.

Rex gives Brady and Xander the list of train stations that Kristen was going to search. Rex asks Brady to go easy on Sarah if they do find her because she's been through hell. Xander says they know that. Brady says they are wasting time, thanks Rex, and rushes out. Rex stops Xander and says he's not going anywhere. Xander warns him to get out of his way unless he wants to end up in the hospital. Rex tells him that after what he did to Sarah, Brady, and Kristen, he's not going anywhere. Rex tells him to stay the hell away from Sarah. Xander says he can't do that because he loves her and she's in trouble so she needs him. Xander then exits the apartment.

Sarah threatens to scream if Kristen tries to take the baby from her. Kristen argues that she is her daughter and she's so grateful for everything Sarah has done. Kristen says she spent the entire year grieving Sarah's baby while she was taking care of hers. Kristen cries that her baby is alive and she's so sorry that her joy is Sarah's grief. Kristen thanks Sarah for holding her baby when she couldn't but now she is here and she thinks Rachel knows that. Kristen asks Sarah to give her the child that was stolen from her. Sarah breaks down crying as she hands Rachel over to Kristen.

Ciara tells Ben that he totally surprised her as she had no idea. Ben says he promised himself that as soon as he got a job, he would do this. Ciara jokes about not having a ring so Ben presents a washer to her and says he didn't want to wait another second but he didn't have enough money to buy her the ring she deserves so this is a placeholder. Ben reveals the washer came from her motorcycle when he fixed it since that was one of the things that brought them together. Ben hopes it will do the job until he can work up enough money to get her the ring that she truly deserves. Ciara tells him it's perfect. Ben knows it wasn't what she was expecting. Ciara says she loves it and loves him so much as they kiss.

Brady and Xander find Kristen and Sarah at the train station. Sarah runs away so Xander goes after her. Brady kisses Kristen as he joins her and Rachel.

Steve tells Justin that he's so sorry they lost Adrienne as he knows how much they loved each other. Justin tells him that she loved him too as he was a good brother to her. Justin decides to let Steve have some time so he and Kayla walk away. Steve goes to Adrienne's grave and says he's sorry it took him so long to get here.

Brady and Kristen rejoice over reuniting with Rachel as they kiss.

Steve talks about he and Adrienne having good times and bad but she was always there for him. Steve says he could sure use her wisdom now. Steve cries that he wasn't a good brother but he tried. Steve feels if he could've been there, maybe he could've done something. Steve cries that he misses her and will never forget her. Hope comes over and hugs him as he cries.

Sarah returns to the apartment in Paris where Rex asks if she's okay and where the baby is. Sarah responds that she is with her parents.

Kristen and Brady hold Rachel. Brady says it's late and suggests finding a hotel then they can all go home tomorrow but Kristen responds that she can never go back to Salem.

Ben and Ciara go back to their room at the Salem Inn. Ben asks how she wants to spend their first evening as an engaged couple. Ben goes to kiss her but Ciara says they have to start planning their wedding.

Justin and Kayla go to the Brady Pub where Kayla insists that she's okay seeing Steve and Hope together and that she'll get used to it. Kayla adds that she has Justin to help her deal with it as they kiss. Steve and Hope then enter the Pub. Justin calls it a small town. Steve says they just came to get a drink but they can go somewhere else but Justin stops him.

Brady questions Kristen not wanting to go back to Salem. Kristen reminds him that she's wanted for attempted murder. Brady argues that he'll get Victor to retract his statement but Kristen argues that Victor hates her and will never change. Kristen worries that any promise Victor makes, he will break to see her rot behind bars. Kristen declares that she has to face the reality that if she steps foot in Salem, she will be locked up. Brady says they will fight it together and it will be okay. Kristen feels they will lose and she cannot spend another moment away from their baby girl. Kristen points out that they have tickets and the stroller so it's a perfect time to just disappear. Brady then agrees that they will go. Kristen kisses him and says she loves him so much but she can't let him do that.

Sarah questions why Rex is still here. Rex says he knew she would change her mind and do right by the baby and that she would probably need a friend. Sarah questions how he can be nice to her after what she did to him. Rex says he knows her and what a good person she is and that she loved the baby but now she's lost two children and that's more than anybody should take, especially by herself. Rex hugs Sarah as she cries then Xander enters the apartment.

Brady assures Kristen that he's going with her and Rachel. Kristen asks about Tate. Brady says he's in California with Theresa. Kristen argues that if Brady goes with her, he'd be aiding a fugitive and questions how he would see Tate again. Kristen adds that if they get caught, they'd both go to prison and she won't take the chance on Tate losing his father or Rachel having both parents in prison. Brady argues that there has to be another way. Kristen decides she'll turn herself in then he can raise Rachel and visit all the time. Brady says the baby is what Kristen has wanted her whole life. Brady says when he took the blame for stabbing Victor, it was so he would go away and she could raise Rachel. Kristen declares that no one has ever loved her the way he does. Brady says now he may have to make that sacrifice so he has to let her take Rachel because she is her mother and she will need her. Kristen knows it's an enormous sacrifice. Brady doesn't know how he will get by without them but he knows Victor will be a threat so if he has to let her go to protect her, he'll do it. Kristen wishes there was a way they could be a family together. Brady says maybe that was never in their future. Kristen blames herself but Brady praises how far she has come. Brady repeats that Rachel is going to need her. Brady picks Rachel up from her stroller and calls her his little miracle. Kristen cries about it being all she ever wanted as they kiss.

Ciara tells Ben that they have so many decisions to make about the wedding. She tells him to come read her notes but she wrote "Will you make love to your fiancee" so they kiss in bed.

Justin invites Steve and Hope to join them. Steve says he doesn't want to intrude but Kayla says they all loved Adrienne so she would want them to celebrate her life. Kayla decides they will all raise a glass to her so Steve and Hope sit with them.

Xander is glad Sarah is safe and asks Rex to give them privacy. Sarah says she has nothing to say to him and yells that she lost her little girl because of him. Sarah screams that she never wants to see him for as long as she lives. Rex advises Xander not to make things worse and just leave her in peace so Xander exits. Sarah sees the baby toy left behind and breaks down crying.

Brady tells Rachel to take care of her mom as Kristen puts her back in the stroller. Brady holds back tears as Kristen assures that she will tell Rachel all about her dad and everything she loves about him. Kristen promises to give her the love and life that he would want her to have. Brady says he knows she will as they kiss. Brady hugs her as she cries and says they have to go. They say they love each other. Brady kisses Kristen goodbye and then tells her to go so Kristen takes her train tickets and exits with Rachel.
