Sonny goes to the courthouse where Zoey stops him to question him. Sonny explains that he's going inside to testify against Christian but Zoey warns him not to do that.

Eli looks at the security footage from the police station, showing Lani leaving with Kristen. Eli questions what the hell Lani is thinking and worries that she's going to get in so much trouble for helping Kristen escape. Rafe enters the station and asks him what's wrong.

Kristen asks Lani why else Rex would be calling her, guessing it has to be because he knows Sarah and Rachel are in Paris. Lani guesses it's a good theory. Kristen calls it the break she's been praying for, declaring that when they find Rex, they will find Sarah and be able to bring her baby home.

While he remains tied up, Rex asks Sarah how Maggie is responsible for her baby's death. Sarah explains that she was in labor and Adrienne was driving her to the hospital when Maggie was the one who drove them off the road because she's been drinking. Rex knew Maggie was in prison for killing Adrienne then realizes that she killed Sarah's baby too.

Maggie asks Xander where Kristen's baby is if she's still alive. Xander responds that she's with Sarah. Xander then reveals to Maggie that it wasn't Brady and Kristen's baby that died that night, it was Sarah's. Maggie says that doesn't make any sense and talks about the time she spent with Mickie. Xander repeats that Sarah is not that baby's mother. Maggie questions how he can say such horrible things. Xander explains that the baby was never Sarah's as the girl that she and Eric thought was their own, was really Kristen's daughter, Rachel.

Zoey introduces herself to Sonny. Sonny questions her warning him not to testify. Zoey warns that she is Christian's lawyer so if he goes on the stand, she will tear him to shreds. Sonny says that Christian confessed to he and Will. Zoey says it's her job to discredit him any way she can, which means dredging up his sexual relationship with Christian and exposing every detail to the jury. Sonny tells him to go ahead as he has nothing to hide. Zoey questions if he's okay with Will hearing every intimate detail of his relationship with Christian. Sonny tells her that he and Will were separated because he was in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Maggie questions Xander saying that Kristen is Mickie's mother which Xander confirms along with her name being Rachel. Maggie calls it not possible. Xander wishes it weren't true as it breaks his heart to tell her this. Maggie argues that Brady and Kristen's baby died at the hospital but Xander tells her that baby was Sarah's and the two babies got switched in the nursery so Sarah brought home the wrong baby. Maggie questions how he knows this. Xander offers to show her the DNA test results that proved that Rachel is really Brady and Kristen's. Maggie can't believe this and asks how the hospital could make such a terrible mistake. Xander guesses these things happen. Maggie argues that Sarah loves Mickie and it will destroy her if she is taken away from her. Maggie says it's wrong and she needs to talk to Justin. Xander stops her and tells her that Justin knows about it. Maggie hopes he's doing something about it because it's unacceptable. Xander then reveals that it wasn't a mistake as the babies were switched on purpose. Xander then admits that he did it.

Lani tells Kristen to calm down but Kristen calls it their first lead. Lani says they can't just assume that Rex is helping Sarah as it could just be a coincidence. Kristen doesn't believe there is a medical conference in Paris and that Rex just left the country to meet up with Sarah. Lani argues that they aren't even together and questions why Sarah would reach out to Rex. Kristen argues that she needed someone to help her disappear again and she hates Xander for lying to her while everyone else is searching for her. Lani then asks why Rex is calling Kristen if he's helping Sarah.

Rex tells Sarah that he knows about the accident and he was so grateful and relieved to hear that her and her daughter were okay. Sarah states that now everyone knows Mickie is not her biological child since Xander switched Kristen's healthy baby with hers. Rex questions her blaming her mom for her death. Sarah doesn't know what Brady and Kristen were told as the cause of death but when she was in labor on the side of the road, she knew something was wrong. Sarah cries about being terrified of losing her right then. Rex points out that Maggie is still her mom. Sarah remarks that her daughter would still be alive if her mom hadn't run her off the road.

Sonny asks Zoey if she has more sensitive and insulting things to say. Zoey claims she's trying to help him and says her brother will be exonerated just like Will was. Sonny argues that Christian pulled a gun on he and Will and admitted to what he did. Sonny declares that Christian murdered Jordan and will pay for what he did. Zoey says she has a pretty good win-loss record so they'll see. Sonny then heads inside of the court room. Orpheus arrives and tells Zoey that Christian is on his way but before he arrives, they need to talk strategy. Zoey says she has it in well in hand. Orpheus asks what her plan is but Zoey says he's not on his legal team so she'd rather not share it with him. Orpheus starts to share his idea but Zoey stops him and says that Christian is not taking the stand.

Eli tells Rafe that nothing is wrong and he's just frustrated that he hasn't been able to find Kristen. Rafe mentions testifying in court today against Christian but he'd rather be here focusing on finding Kristen. Eli assures that he'll hold down the fort. Rafe comments that he knows Eli and Lani both will. Rafe asks if there are no new leads. Eli says he questioned Brady but he insists he doesn't know anything about where Kristen is and he seemed pretty surprised when he said Kristen took of but he also claimed to have stabbed Victor. Rafe knows protecting Kristen is Brady's priority. Eli comments on what they do for the people they love. Rafe decides there is no new leads then and no idea where Kristen is or how she got away..

Kristen decides maybe Lani is right that Rex didn't fly out to Paris to meet with Sarah but just ran into her and the baby. Kristen guesses either way that Rex figured out that Sarah has Rachel which is why he was calling her. They talk about the call ending abruptly as if he got caught. Lani repeats that it's still just a theory. Kristen feels they have to get out to Paris before Sarah disappears again.

Sarah tells Rex that she knew her baby was in trouble by the way the doctors took her away but when Xander brought back a healthy baby, she ignored her instincts because she wanted it to be true. Rex asks if she knows the official cause of death. Sarah says they were in a car crash so they know the kind of trauma that can cause on a newborn, which she blames on Maggie. Rex doesn't understand why Maggie was drinking that night when she worked so hard to be sober so he questions what happened. Sarah reveals to him that her sister Summer happened.

Maggie questions why Xander switched the babies and what he was thinking. Xander explains that he wanted to spare Sarah the pain of losing a child since he loves her so much so he took the opportunity. Xander knows it was wrong but it made sense at the time after Sarah had been through so much. Maggie realizes this is why Sarah called off the wedding. Xander confirms that Sarah hates him for letting her fall in love with a baby that wasn't hers. Maggie asks how he could do this to Sarah. Xander says it was all about protecting her and they wanted to spare Maggie the pain too. Maggie questions him saying they and realizes he didn't do this alone so she guesses that Victor was involved.

Orpheus questions Zoey not letting Christian testify as he thinks that could make him look guilty. Zoey assures she will destroy the prosecution's case since the confession has been thrown out. Orpheus brings up Christian's DNA being found on Jordan's body. Zoey says that can be explained away. Orpheus asks her why not let Christian do that then or else they might think he has something to hide. Zoey points out that he does have something to hide and that Orpheus knows that better than anyone. He questions what that's supposed to mean.

Eli comments to Rafe that Kristen can be very manipulative and was desperate to get out to find her baby. Rafe points out that she also stabbed Victor in the chest. Rafe remarks that he's going to the courthouse to hopefully put one killer behind bars. Rafe admits he's a little worried about how the trial will go but he's confident the DNA they have will convict Christian of Jordan's murder. Eli notes that a conviction would definitely help Rafe get custody of David. Rafe says now that Zoey is fighting for custody as well, it makes things a little trickier. Eli insists that David belongs with Rafe. Rafe tells Eli to let him know if anything on Kristen turns up. Eli wishes Rafe luck as he exits. Eli then sits down and pulls his phone out.

Kristen guesses Sarah caught Rex on the phone so she must be packing up now and if she goes, their lead is flying away. Lani encourages her to calm down and not panic as Rex could call again. Kristen argues that she called back and he didn't pick up so if he doesn't pick up, he can't help them. Lani points out that there are other ways they can track him down. Lani then gets a call from Eli but ignores it.

Eli calls Lani and it goes to voicemail so he leaves a message, saying he needs her to come to the station about the Kristen DiMera case.

Xander asks why Maggie would think Victor was involved in switching the babies. Maggie brings up Kristen stabbing Victor so she asks again if he was involved. Xander then confirms that he was. Maggie asks why he did it. Xander says it was for her, because they both wanted to prevent Sarah from getting hurt. Maggie questions Victor risking prison to protect Sarah. Xander says they both did. Maggie can't fathom how they think stealing another woman's baby would be better for Sarah than knowing the truth. Xander calls it complicated. Maggie says what they did was horribly wrong. Xander says he sees that now. Maggie is glad that Sarah found out before she married him. Maggie realizes that's what everyone was trying to keep from her since Julie almost told her but Will stopped her and made up some story. Maggie feels she should be there supporting Sarah and helping her get through what has to be the worst time of her life..

Sarah explains to Rex how she was in labor and Maggie was going to take her to the hospital but as they were about to walk out the door, Summer showed up with the news that she was dying of liver disease which surprises Rex. Sarah adds that Summer blamed Maggie for her being an alcoholic. Sarah says she had so much sympathy for Maggie before she found out the truth that she ran her off the road but then she found out the truth and all her sympathy was gone. Sarah argues that Maggie chose to drink and drive while her daughter would still be alive if not for those choices.

Maggie tells Xander that she needs to get out of here for a few days because Sarah and Victor need her. Maggie wants to talk to Justin and warns Xander not to try to talk her out of this. Xander says he's sorry but even if she could get out, it wouldn't help. Maggie argues that he doesn't know that and he doesn't get to tell her what her daughter needs after what he's done. Xander clarifies that even if she got out of prison, she wouldn't be able to be with Sarah because she took Kristen's baby and ran off.

Rex tells Sarah that someone has probably told Maggie by now and asks her to imagine what it's got to be like for Maggie to have caused her own granddaughter's death. Rex knows Sarah is in pain but notes that Maggie is suffering too. Rex encourages that Maggie loves her but news like this will break her. Sarah cries that part of her wants Maggie to suffer. Rex knows the bigger part of her will always love her. Sarah argues that if Summer didn't show up that night, her daughter would still be alive. Rex says they can't turn back time. Rex repeats that Maggie is hurting too and she doesn't want to lose her as well so only she can make this better.

Lani listens to her message from Eli and tells Kristen that she really hates lying to Eli. Kristen wonders if Eli has a lead and will show up here but Lani says they've been really careful so she's sure it's nothing. Kristen asks if she wants to call him back but Lani says she will deal with Eli later as now they need to focus on tracking down Rex. Lani brings up that they have a tech genius in the family as if anyone can help track down Rex, it's her brother Theo.

Zoey tells Orpheus that they both know that Christian did kill Jordan. Orpheus asks if that's all she meant or if she thinks Christian might be hiding something else. Zoey claims to not know what he means and asks what else she would be referring to. Rafe arrives so Orpheus asks him how his grandson is. Rafe argues that David is not his grandson and never will be. Orpheus remarks that biology says otherwise and soon he will be his family legally as well when his daughter wins custody. Rafe says that won't happen. Zoey comments that Rafe seems awfully confident for a man who just had a restraining order thrown out in court. Rafe assures that he will win custody of David, especially when Christian is convicted of murder. Zoey disagrees, claiming that Christian didn't kill Jordan, Rafe did. Rafe asks if she's joking. Zoey calls him the true murderer which Rafe calls ridiculous. Zoey brings up Jordan poisoning Rafe, attacking Ciara, and trying to run away with David as his motive to strangle her and then frame Ben. Rafe asks what she is smoking. Zoey accuses him of now trying to frame Christian. Rafe calls it insane while Orpheus remarks that it makes perfect sense to him.

Lani talks to Theo on the phone and says that Kristen just wants to bring her little girl home. Lani mentions having a lead on a phone that could help them track down Sarah and the baby. Lani asks if Theo could trace the location of the number.

Sarah questions why Rex cares so much about Maggie when she didn't even like him. Rex says she didn't like him because she was fiercely protective of Sarah which he respects about her. Sarah argues that she didn't protect anyone because drinking and driving is unforgivable. Sarah yells at Rex to stop defending her. Rex says he's not as she made a terrible mistake but being an alcoholic does not make her a bad person. Rex argues that Maggie is having to deal with the fact that she killed her friend and her granddaughter which is why it's important for Sarah and the baby to get back to Salem to be there for her.

Maggie asks Xander how Sarah got out of town. Xander informs her that she fled on the Titan jet that was supposed to take them on the honeymoon. Maggie asks where she went. Xander tells her that all they know is that she landed in London and he got her on the phone but she refused his help. Maggie asks why she would want his help after what he did. Xander gets why she blames him but he really thought he was doing the right thing for her. Maggie says there is so much she doesn't understand as she's trying to process how Sarah's baby died since everything was fine at the hospital so she asks what caused her death.

Rafe tells Zoey that nobody is going to buy her preposterous story. Zoey argues that the jury might. Rafe calls her as bad as her father and brother. Zoey claims she's just doing her job so if she can create reasonable doubt, Christian walks free. Rafe argues that Christian deserves to be in jail as he's a liar and a murderer. Zoey says he's entitled to his opinion. Rafe says they'll see and heads in to the court room. Orpheus admits to Zoey that was impressive. Zoey says that's why it's not necessary for Christian to take the stand. Orpheus asks what she's so afraid of. Zoey admits she doesn't trust Christian up there because he gets jittery when confronted which will open the door for the prosecution and she doesn't know what else the district attorney might throw at him. Orpheus again feels like she is talking like she knows more than she's saying. Orpheus asks if she's referring to something specific.

Lani thanks Theo and says she knew she could count on him as she hangs up. Lani tells Kristen that Theo will call if he's able to get a hit on Rex's phone. Lani says she should really get back to Eli before he sends a search party out for her. Kristen tells her how much she appreciates all her help. Lani notes that they haven't found Rachel yet but hopefully now with Theo, they will. Kristen notes that Lani put herself on the line when she got her out of the police station. Lani tells her to just focus on getting her little girl back.

Sarah tells Rex that she can't go back to Salem because Kristen will take her daughter away from her. Rex argues that she can't run forever. Sarah cries that she's not ready. Rex reminds her that she has to think about her mom. Rex brings up that Maggie drove drunk after Summer confronted her so she needs to be there for her when she finds out that she's responsible for her granddaughter's death because she will punish herself for the rest of her life or she'll die of a broken heart.

Xander tells Maggie that he doesn't know the details but guesses there were complications with the baby. Maggie asks if something happened to her at the hospital after he brought her in. Xander says he doesn't know. Maggie brings up that Xander delivered her on the side of the road and she was fine when they got to the hospital. Xander asks her to just let it go. Maggie repeats that the baby was fine when she was born but realizes she had just run them off the side of the road. Maggie cries that she not only killed Adrienne, but her own granddaughter.

Orpheus asks Zoey if her brother said something to her. Zoey gets a text that trial is starting soon and says they better head inside so she goes in to the court room.

Lani returns to the police station and asks Eli if there's any leads on Kristen. Eli reveals that he saw what she did so he knows she helped Kristen escape.

Kristen gets a call back from Theo and asks if he was able to locate Rex's phone.

Rex tells Sarah that he's a father so he knows what it's like to love a child. Sarah cries that she loved her since the day she was born. Rex gets that she can't just stop feeling like she's hers but she can't keep running because she will be found and it will end so much worse. Sarah calls it unfair. Rex calls her the strongest person he's ever met and encourages that she can handle this. Rex tells her to go home to be with her mom because they need each other. Sarah argues that she knows he's trying to make her feel guilty for her mom but she can't lose Mickie. Sarah then puts the gag back on Rex's mouth and says she's heard everything he has to say and can't hear anymore. Sarah declares that she feels for her mom but there is no way she's giving up her little girl so they will be gone before anyone even figures out they were here.

Maggie breaks down crying over the fact that she killed her own granddaughter as Xander hugs her.
