Kristen asks Lani if she's sure that Victor is awake. Lani confirms that Eli is at the hospital now. Kristen asks if Victor remembered what happened to him. Lani says that he was too weak to say anything but Eli is going to wait at the hospital in case he gets stronger.

Eli asks Victor to confirm that he is saying that Kristen stabbed him. Eli reminds him that Brady already confessed and is being arraigned right now so he questions if it's possible that he's covering for Brady or was it truly Kristen that stabbed him.

Rex tells Sarah that she cannot go on the run with a baby while Sarah argues that she can. Rex brings up that Sarah will be found any time she tries to apply for a job or enroll the baby in school. Sarah argues that it's better than being raised by Kristen DiMera. Rex says it's not her call. Sarah cries that she got her through cancer and took care of her every minute of her life. Sarah cries that she loves her and is not just going to give her up. Rex apologizes and says she leaves him no choice but to call the police. Sarah pleads with him and begs him not to but Rex calls the police. Rafe enters his office and answers the call. Rafe greets Rex and asks how Chicago is. Rex responds that he's actually not in Chicago but Sarah grabs the phone from him and hangs up.

Eli informs Victor that Brady gave a statement that he was furious in Victor's role in the baby switch while Kristen would obviously have the same motive. Kayla stops Eli and feels that's enough. Kayla starts to take Eli out of the room but Victor stops them.

Kristen asks Lani if Eli will call anytime soon. Lani doesn't know and says she's going off duty while Kristen looks really stressed. Lani asks if she wants to go get a drink but Kristen doesn't think that's the answer right now. Lani knows it's a bad time for her and says that Sarah couldn't have been in her right mind when she took off with her baby but at least she knows it's not a ransom situation. Kristen argues that Rachel will have one of her parents in prison. Lani points out that everyone in Salem knows what kind of man Victor is and what kind of Brady is. Lani adds that Victor might not even press charges because he knows Brady was at the end of his rope and why. Kristen thinks back to stabbing Victor and says this should not be happening which Lani questions. Lani asks Kristen if Victor's story is going to back up Brady's or is there something here she's not saying.

Chad kisses Abigail in her hospital bed. Chad asks if she's still having flashbacks from the drugs. Abigail says that it should all be out of her system now. Chad blames Gabi for using that as a weapon and declares he's going to make her pay as he's not backing off until Gabi ends up in prison where she belongs.

Gabi walks outside the park and calls Rafe, leaving a message to call her back and asks if it was his idea to send Lani after her after she said she didn't drug Abigail. Gabi remarks that Lani is the reason she will never see Stefan again. Gabi then hangs up and turns around as Jake comes around the corner and she calls out to Stefan. Jake tries to walk away but Gabi runs up to him, saying he's real and he really came back to her. Jake informs her that he's not Stefan, his name is Jake. Gabi argues that can't be. Jake guesses she is Gabi. Gabi questions how he knows that if he's not Stefan DiMera.

Abigail asks Chad to try to let the police handle this but Chad says the police aren't doing anything and Rafe has a history of looking the other way with Gabi which Abigail agrees with. Chad adds that he's been calling and leaving messages about the investigation but Rafe isn't returning his calls. Rafe then walks in to the room and says he's working on it and thought it would be better if they spoke in person. Rafe asks Abigail how she's feeling. Abigail says she's feeling better now. Chad asks what Rafe is doing to prove that Gabi drugged Abigail. Rafe responds that he's actually working on a lot of cases right now and mentions Victor being in the hospital after being stabbed in the chest. Chad points out that Brady confessed so the case is closed.

Lani reminds Kristen that they spent a year together in a convent because they had been through such horrible things that they couldn't face the outside world. Lani brings up all the times they prayed in the chapel, asking God how he could take their children away before they had the chance to love them. Lani relates to her pain and being full of so much anger. Lani adds that if someone told her that her baby was dead, just so they could take him away from her, she'd want that person to suffer for the rest of their life. Kristen then breaks down and admits that she is the one who stabbed Victor.

Victor explains to Eli and Kayla that Kristen told him that he deserved to die because of what happened to her baby. Victor says the next thing he knew, he had a knife in his chest.

Rex tells Sarah that she can't prevent him from calling Rafe back. Sarah asks if he sees what it's doing to her and Mickie. Rex argues that she cannot take another person's baby. Sarah tells him about how she lost her baby as she was in labor on her way to the hospital and a car accident caused the baby to have a brain injury. Rex tells her that he's so sorry. Sarah explains that she thought this baby was hers because Victor and Xander switched her baby with Kristen's baby. Sarah says she became a mother, fell in love with the baby, and she has been hers for a year. Sarah cries about having one night to say goodbye and questions what it's going to do to the baby when she's the only mother she's ever known. Sarah begs Rex to just go away and let them be, if he ever loved her.

Eli reminds Victor that Brady already confessed to stabbing him and asks if he's absolutely sure that it was Kristen. Victor responds that Brady would do anything to protect Kristen so he'd take the fall but he's telling him that Kristen did this to him.

Kristen cries that she had no idea Brady would say he stabbed Victor. Kristen says she begged him to let her tell the truth but he wouldn't hear it and said he'd get a lighter sentence because of her history.

Rex tells Sarah that he loved her so much and will always care so deeply about what happens to her. Sarah asks if that means he will keep her secret and forget their paths crossed her. Rex responds that he can't do that. Rex talks about Mimi keeping Emily a secret from him for a year so he can't do that to another father, especially Brady. Sarah cries that Brady has Tate. Rex argues that you can't replace one child with another. Rex says what Victor and Xander did is monstrous. Rex asks if she wants "Mickie" growing up loving her and thinking she's her mother when that's all a lie rather than being able to tell her one day that she did the right thing. Rex adds that she will be walking, talking, and asking questions soon like why are they moving again or where her dad is and she would have to lie to her. Sarah breaks down and cries that he's right and she can't do that to her so she has to bring her back.

Chad argues that Gabi wants control of DiMera and she tries to eliminate whatever comes between her and what she wants. Chad calls Gabi a danger to society and argues that Rafe just keeps coming up with reasons not to arrest her. Rafe says that's not true and adds that Gabi swore she didn't drug Abigail but he had Lani question her anyways and Lani told her that the drug was made exclusively by DiMera. Rafe notes that other people than Gabi would have access to the drug. Chad repeats that Gabi was in the room when Abigail was drugged. Abigail insists that it was Gabi and says nothing has been done since she tried to kill Julie. Chad asks how many people Gabi will have to kill before Rafe sees her for what she truly is.

Jake explains to Gabi that he works in a garage where he just hired Ben Weston and that he and Ciara had a very similar reaction so he's apparently a dead ringer for Stefan. Jake says that Ben and Ciara told him about Stefan and how he died. Jake tells Gabi that he's sorry for her loss. Gabi calls him a son of a bitch and slaps him. Jake questions what the hell that was before. Gabi accuses him of leaving her. Jake says he's never seen her before. Gabi tells him to cut the act and talks about begging Dr. Rolf to bring Stefan back. Jake insists he's not her husband and asks if he was, why he wouldn't just come back to her. Gabi questions why he's trying to make her believe that he's someone else.

Abigail tells Rafe that Gabi has told them she would do anything necessary to get DiMera back and she feels entitled to it because she's Stefan's widow. Chad says they know what she's capable of but she never seems to pay for it. Chad accuses Rafe of fixing things for her but Rafe says he's not. Rafe says he told Gabi to plead guilty for what she did to Julie and he had nothing to do with the deal that was made. Rafe says he doesn't have enough probable cause to arrest her but he's assigned Lani to take over the investigation and she feels the same about Gabi as they do. Rafe declares that if Gabi is guilty, Lani will find a way to prove it. Chad remarks that she better or she will answer to him. Rafe then exits the room.

Rex goes with Sarah to pack her things from the Paris apartment. Rex books two tickets on his flight back to Chicago so they can all go together. Sarah feels he doesn't trust her to go through with it. Rex says he just wants to be there for her. Sarah thanks him. Rex talks about all the times she set him straight when he was out of line. Sarah questions if that's what he thinks he did to her. Rex clarifies that he's a better person because of her and he owes her for that. Sarah decides they should call Brady to let him know that she's coming back with the baby. Sarah asks Rex to handle that. Rex suggests waiting until they get back to Salem. Sarah insists that he let Brady know but Rex informs her that he doesn't have access to a phone right now so he can't. Sarah questions why not. Rex then reveals that Brady is in jail which shocks Sarah.

Rafe starts to call Rex back but Eli stops him at the hospital and informs him that he just took Victor's statement and he said that it was Kristen and Brady is just covering for her. Rafe acknowledges that a knife to the chest sounds more like Kristen. Eli tells him that he's on his way to the Salem Inn to talk to Kristen now. Rafe mentions that she was just in the interrogation room talking to Lani when he left and he assumed they were talking about her missing baby but maybe he was wrong..

Lani tells Kristen not to say another word without an attorney as she then reads her rights to her. Kristen pleads with her to hear her out, calling her the closest friend she's ever had. Kristen talks about their time at the convent where she told Lani to never give up and how she supported her when they came back and helped her get the goods on Gabi and to find her way back to Eli. Kristen believes that if not for her, Lani would be back at the convent. Lani questions if she's asking her to let her go which she confirms. Lani tells her that she will go to bat for her with the D.A.'s office but she can't act like she doesn't know she stabbed Victor. Lani walks out of the room but Kristen follows her and argues that she held her baby one time since Victor and Xander stole her from her. Kristen talks about grieving a dead child and that Lani can charge her for attempted murder but she won't let her stop her from holding her child. Lani points out that she confessed to a serious crime to a detective in a police station. Kristen thought she was baring her soul to a friend when she was most vulnerable. Lani tells her to talk to her attorney. Kristen brings up Lani losing her baby but she's still a mother so they are the same. Kristen adds that if she could give her the chance to hold her baby, she would. Kristen pleads with Lani to let her be free so she can get her baby.

Sarah questions Rex about Brady stabbing Victor. Rex says that is what Kate said. Sarah questions that meaning the only parent the baby will have is Kristen. Rex says that's only until Brady is cleared of the charges while Sarah argues that Brady could go to prison. Rex understands that Kristen has changed after spending a year in the convent. Sarah accuses Rex of convincing her to take a defenseless child back to Salem to hand her over to Kristen because he heard she changed. Sarah argues that her whole grieving mother thing is an act because she would stab her best friend in the back to get what she wants...

Gabi continues to accuse Jake of being Stefan and talks about fighting Chad and Abigail for DiMera. Jake says he's just a mechanic in a garage. Gabi argues that they can get DiMera back together. Jake insists that he doesn't know her but Gabi questions why he's lying to her.

Abigail says she knows Chad is upset. Chad questions if she's not when she's the one who was drugged. Abigail says she's just saying that she believes Rafe is not covering for Gabi since he put Lani on the case and she hates Gabi. Chad shouts that all they talk about is probable cause and making a case when everyone in town knows that Gabi is the only person that would hurt her and she was at the party she was drugged at. Abigail says he's stressing her out while Chad blames Gabi for doing it. Chad screams that he's going to find Gabi but Abigail imagines Stefan entering the room and attacking Chad. Chad runs back to try to hold Abigail down as she freaks out over her vision of Stefan. Abigail tries fighting Chad off so he screams for help.

Gabi brings up that this isn't the first time Jake has seen her as she passed out in the town square and he went over to help her. Jake hoped she didn't remember that. Gabi says she came to and he was gone, having just left her lying on the ground. Jake says he was late for work and there were plenty of people surrounding her and he didn't want go get involved. Gabi argues that he is her husband but Jake says he's not that guy. Jake then walks away.

Kayla comes in to Abigail's room while Abigail imagines Kayla working with Stefan and screams at them. Chad holds Abigail while Kayla injects her with a needle to sedate her.

Eli goes to the police station and reveals to Lani that Victor clearly stated it was Kristen who stabbed him so he asks where the hell she is.

Rex tells Sarah that she has no choice as she can't keep running with the baby. Sarah argues that he told her that Brady was going to take care of her which was a lie. Rex argues that Kristen is the baby's mother so he has to call her. Sarah questions him having Kristen's number. Rex says she was a patient of his. Sarah doesn't remember that and accuses Rex of working with Kristen which he denies. Sarah questions how he ended up at the same cafe she was at then. Rex calls Kristen and leaves a message for her to call him back as he has something really important to talk to her about. Sarah then grabs an object off the table and hits Rex in the back of the head, knocking him out.

Chad thought the drug was all out of Abigail's system so he asks Kayla why this is happening.

Gabi goes home to the DiMera Mansion, insisting that Jake was Stefan and he's back but she wonders why he is doing this to her and says she's going to find out.

Jake goes to the garage and thinks back to Gabi's accusations.

Eli goes to Kristen's room at the Salem Inn but it's now empty.

Rafe returns to his office and answers a call from Eli, who informs him that Lani told him that Kristen was heading back to her room but he just got there and there is no sign of her.

Lani walks Kristen outside the park and tells her that Eli is probably already at her room so she doesn't have much time. Kristen asks how she can ever thank her. Lani tells her to forget about her and just go find her little girl to be the best mom she can be. Kristen hugs Lani and thanks her as she then rushes off.

Rachel wakes up crying while Sarah tells her everything is okay as Rex remains knocked out on the floor. Sarah tells Rachel that she didn't have a choice because he was trying to trick her in to handing her over to a very bad woman and she won't do that. Sarah declares she will never go back to Salem.
