Chad suggests he and Li discuss further in his office. Li decides that won't be necessary as he's fully aware of the strength and weaknesses of Chad and Gabi so he's prepared to make a decision. Gabi asks him who is going to be CEO of DiMera, Chad or her?

Julie goes to Statesville prison to visit Maggie. Maggie calls it a nice surprise. Julie wanted to know how she's holding up. Maggie says she's as well as can be expected. Julie tells her that she's so sorry about what happened to Sarah. Maggie questions what happened to Sarah.

Xander calls Sarah but it goes to voicemail as he exits his room. He leaves a message that he knows she's angry but she has to call him back because he wants to help her. Kristen comes around the corner and questions what he wants to help Sarah do. Xander tells her that he's in a hurry but Kristen pushes him back in to his room and declares he's not going anywhere.

Brady confronts Victor and calls him a sick bastard for letting him believe his daughter was dead. Victor tells him to concentrate on what's important now and that's finding Sarah and the baby. Brady argues that it's all he's concentrating on and doing everything he can to bring them home. Victor is sorry to hear he hasn't found them but Brady doesn't believe him and blames Victor for Sarah disappearing with his daughter.

Sarah enters an apartment with baby Rachel in Paris, France and calls it their new home. Sarah mentions it being Abigail and Chad's place in Paris and being empty since they moved back to Salem. Sarah declares that they can start a whole new life here and no one will ever find them.

Li announces that Chad is back in charge. Gabi argues that he can't be serious. Abigail congratulates Chad. Gabi calls this a huge mistake. Li believes it's what is best for the future of DiMera. Gabi questions if he's lost his mind. Gabi complains that Stefan would be rolling in his grave over this decision. Li calls it his decision and says the board is behind him as they believe Chad is best equipped to handle the company moving forward. Gabi swears that they will all regret this.

Sarah's doorbell rings while she hopes they will go away and promises Rachel that she will keep her safe. Sarah then reluctantly answers the door.

Xander understands Kristen is upset but says he has more important things on his mind right now. Xander asks her to have compassion for Sarah after finding out the little girl she has loved and seen through cancer is not her child. Xander talks about the bond they have. Kristen shouts that she knows what it's like to love a child and then lose it because she was told her baby was dead and that was alive. Kristen blames Xander for her baby being kept from her.

Brady tells Victor not to insult him because he knows he was working with Xander to switch the babies. Victor asks why he would think that. Brady brings up Victor calling Theresa to convince her to have Tate tested for bone marrow. Victor calls it the right thing to do. Brady argues that Victor knew she was his. Victor argues that he was doing everything possible to save the little girl's life. Brady points out that he doesn't tell the truth while he and Kristen have been going through unbearable grief. Brady asks Victor to just be honest with him for once. Victor then admits he did all those things and says if he had to do it over, he would do exactly the same thing because he was protecting Maggie.

Julie assumed Jennifer told Maggie about Sarah because that's how she found out. Maggie responds that the last time she saw Sarah, she was getting married and she was so happy. Julie questions Maggie not speaking to anyone since then. Maggie says obviously something is wrong and asks if Sarah did not get married. Julie doesn't want to upset her but Maggie says she already has so she asks what she knows. Julie responds that she's sorry but she doesn't think it's her place. Maggie refuses to let her out until she tells her what's going on with Sarah.

Gabi argues that putting Chad in charge of the company would be a disaster waiting to happen. Abigail tells her to just give it up. Li understands Gabi is disappointed. Gabi says when the company crashes and burns, they can't say she didn't warn them. Chad tells her to leave. Gabi asks what will happen to her company, Gabi Chic. Li admits she has built a very successful brand. Gabi threatens to exercise her option to disassociate Gabi Chic from DiMera and move her work somewhere where it's appreciated. Li informs her that is not going to happen as he reveals they predicted she might do something like this so they preemptively removed her as head of Gabi Chic.

Julie worries that people are going to be very upset with her when they hear she opened her big mouth again. Maggie promises not to tell that she heard it from her and asks what went wrong with Sarah. Will arrives to interrupt and tells Julie that there's been a crisis at the restaurant so he rushes Julie out. Julie questions him as to what is wrong at the restaurant. Will tells her it's nothing but he had to get her away from Maggie, questioning what she was about to tell her. Julie says she found out about the baby switch and just assumed Maggie knew so she wanted to see if she was okay. Will informs her that Maggie doesn't know and she won't be okay if she finds out that she's responsible for her grandchild's death. Julie assures that she didn't tell her anything, just that she was sorry about what happened to Sarah but Maggie didn't know what she was referring to. Will says that's good. Julie points out that Maggie won't let this go so she questions what to say to her. Will suggests Julie go home while he handles it. Julie apologizes. Will assures that it will work out so Julie exits. Will heads back in to Maggie and tells her that Julie had to run to the restaurant because of a crisis. Maggie doesn't believe him and says she knows he got Julie away so he could cover for her. Maggie needs to know what's going on and questions what he's hiding from her.

Victor knows Brady feels betrayed but tells him to look at this from his perspective. Brady argues that he took his baby. Victor says it happened so fast and when the baby died at the hospital, he realized that Maggie caused the death of Adrienne but also her own grandchild and it would've destroyed Maggie and Sarah which he couldn't let happen. Brady remarks that Victor played God and let it destroy he and Kristen instead.

Kristen questions how Xander could do this to her when they used to be partners and allies. She asks how he could hand over her baby to someone else and let her believe her baby died. Xander tells her that he's truly sorry for what she went through but he loves Sarah and would do anything for her. Xander says he's never loved anyone like Sarah and compares it to how Kristen feels about Brady. Xander talks about seeing Sarah's baby die in front of him so he couldn't bring himself to deliver that news to Sarah. Kristen questions letting her be the one to get the news instead. Xander apologizes. Kristen screams at him that her baby is out there with Sarah. Xander wants to find her just as much. Kristen promises to make Sarah pay for stealing her baby when they do find her, questioning what kind of person does that. Xander tells Kristen to get off her high horse, saying Sarah may have taken her baby but she tried to take Sarah's first.

Sarah answers her door to see a woman, who says she lives downstairs and heard a baby crying so she asks if everything is alright. Sarah says her baby was just a little fussy earlier but she's fine so there is nothing to worry about. Sarah says she has to get going and tries to shut the door but the woman says she knows who Sarah is.

Gabi argues that they can't remove her from Gabi Chic. Li tells her to check the contract and says she is officially out as of this morning. Gabi complains that they are taking away her life's work. Chad tells her it's time to go. Abigail suggests Gabi go home and pack her things. Gabi then storms out of the office.

Sarah thinks the woman is mistaken but she believes that Sarah is Abigail so Sarah goes along with it. She mentions her name is Jeanne Marie and asks where her husband Chad is. Sarah says he's back in Salem. She notes that Sarah seems a bit lost and asks if she and Chad had a quarrel.

Kristen questions Xander trying to turn this around on her. Xander brings up Kristen arranging to have Dr. Rolf steal Sarah's unborn baby from her womb to have it implanted in her. Kristen argues that Sarah wanted an abortion so she was planning on taking the baby that she didn't want. Xander argues that Kristen only cared about trapping Brady and only didn't go through with it because she found out she was already pregnant so now Brady is stuck. Kristen slaps him.

Brady gets that Victor couldn't bear to see Maggie suffer but asks why it's so easy to watch him suffer. Victor says he wasn't okay with it and it damn near killed him. Victor is convinced that his stroke was brought on by the terrible stress and guilt of making the decision he had to make. Victor says he never wanted to hurt him but Brady doesn't believe that anymore. Brady doesn't think Victor ever cared about him. Brady brings up that Victor fired him and replaced him with Xander right after he thought he lost his baby. Victor informs him that he didn't have a choice. Brady questions what he means so Victor reveals it was the price that Xander demanded for doing the baby switch so it was the only way to protect Maggie.

Maggie asks Will what he is hiding from her and says he knows what it's like to be isolated and alone in prison. Maggie brings up Arianna and asks how he would feel if people lied to him about her. Will admits he would feel terrible. Maggie says Sarah was so happy and hopeful in her wedding dress but now something is wrong and everyone seems to know but her. Will is not sure what Julie was telling her. Maggie says Will went to prison for her and she will forever be grateful for that but if he doesn't tell her the truth now, she will never forgive him. Will then agrees to tell her and says it's about Xander.

Gabi goes through the town square to the Gabi Chic store but finds the door locked with a temporarily closed sign on it. Gabi prepares to break the window but Julie shows up and asks if she's about to add breaking and entering to her long line of criminal activities.

Maggie tells Will that Sarah was here and then left to get married. Maggie says she could tell how much she loved Xander and how excited she was to marry him. Will guesses it was bittersweet for Maggie, knowing she couldn't be there. Maggie asks Will to tell her what happened. Will tells her that he's sorry but the truth is the wedding never happened. Maggie asks why not.

Sarah goes along with the story that she is Abigail and that she and Chad had a fight. Jeanne tells her that she's sorry and feels she shouldn't be alone so she comes inside and asks what Chad did.

Kristen says that Xander will do or say anything to justify what he did. Xander says he's just pointing out that she's in no position to judge. Kristen doesn't think Xander really loved Sarah as he's never loved anybody but himself. Xander says that used to be true but Sarah changed him. Kristen argues that people don't change. Xander points out that she's telling everyone that she's changed for a year. Kristen says that's different because she became a mother. Xander argues that raising Mickie changed him too and he learned to be selfless as he had to look out for Sarah and Maggie too. Xander notes that Maggie had no idea that she killed her own granddaughter. Kristen questions him caring so much about Maggie. Xander says they have a bond and he didn't want to see her suffer. Kristen argues that the only person that loves Maggie and would risk everything is Victor. Kristen then guesses that Victor put Xander up to this and warns him not to deny it because she can see it all over his face.

Brady asks how many times Victor is going to do this to him. Victor says it wasn't about him. Brady feels Victor always finds a way to put him last and yet he's always come back. Victor says they are family. Brady talks about going to see him at the hospital after his stroke even though he was so angry with him. Victor says he'll always be his grandfather but Brady says not anymore. Brady brings up Eric being up all night searching for Sarah while going through the worst time of his life as he found out that his daughter is gone but he's still helping because that's family. Victor argues that Maggie is his family too. Brady asks if Maggie knows what he did. Victor pleads with him not to tell her. Brady says it might serve him right if he did but he has to get his family together to find his daughter. Brady tells Victor not to contact him and he doesn't want to see his face because he's dead to him. Brady then walks out of the mansion.

Chad tells Li that it was an excellent decision. Li responds that it wasn't easy since Gabi did build a successful company from the ground up while DiMera Enterprises was handed to Chad. Li notes that Chad was his father's favorite. Chad admits he's been fortunate but he's going to prove that DiMera can succeed by not only turning a profit but doing some good in the world. Li tells Chad that they are with him but the leash is short and they'll be watching. Chad agrees to do his best.

Gabi tells Julie that she's been locked out of her store so she's getting in by any means necessary. Gabi adds that it still makes her sick that her husband's heart is inside of Julie's body. Julie tells her that she's here whether she likes it or not. Gabi remarks that she did that out of the kindness of her heart. Julie argues that there is no kindness in Gabi's heart and says she belongs in prison where she would be if she didn't hold everyone hostage over an innocent baby's life. Gabi argues that she saved the baby just like she saved Julie, even though she wishes she hadn't. Julie responds that she's here and not going anywhere. Julie says she has a husband, family and friends while asking Gabi what she has. Gabi tells her to shut up. Julie asks what she's going to do, attack her and get sent back to prison? Julie tells Gabi that it is all over as she walks away.

Will tells Maggie that right before Sarah and Xander were about to get married, she changed her mind about Xander. Maggie asks why. Will suggests she realized he's done too many terrible things to commit to spending her entire life with him. Maggie thought she loved him enough to put aside all of her reservations about him unless he did something new that he's not telling her. Will knows how she feels since he went through the same thing while locked up. Will knows it's killing her that Sarah is in pain and she can't be there for her. Maggie says that's why he needs to tell her what happened and questions why her daughter walked away from her wedding.

Sarah tells Jeanne that the man that she loves lied to her. Jeanne encourages her to find it in her heart to forgive him. Sarah says she doesn't know as some things are unforgivable. Jeanne decides to leave her. Sarah thanks her for stopping by. Jeanne stops and notes that the baby is very young, remembering that Abigail's children were older and that she had two of them. Sarah claims her older children are with their father while this is a new addition to the family. Jeanne hopes she can find a way to reconcile because of the baby since every couple goes through rough times but to live without loving is to not live really. Jeanne then exits.

Xander calls Victor. Victor looks at his phone but Kristen enters the Kiriakis Mansion and tells him that they need to have a word.

Will tells Maggie that he's sorry but he can't tell her anymore and he's sorry he came with such bad news. Maggie just wants Sarah to be happy. Will says she deserves to be after everything she went through with Rex, Eric, and the baby. Maggie asks Will to tell Sarah how much he loves her and that she needs to call or come visit. Will says he senses that Sarah wants to be alone for the time being. Will says he's sorry but he has to go. Maggie thanks him for telling her the news. Will tells her to take care and exits.

Sarah listens to her voicemail from Xander.

Victor doesn't recall inviting Kristen in to his home. Kristen tells him to shut the hell up. Kristen informs him that Xander told her everything so she knows it was Victor that planned to take her baby and give it to Sarah while letting her and Brady believe their little girl had died. Victor responds that he did what he had to do to protect Maggie. Kristen argues that this wasn't about Maggie since he hated that she was having Brady's baby from the beginning. Kristen says he didn't do this out of love but out of hate. Kristen talks about Victor trying to turn Brady against her and he knew that if they had a baby, he would love her forever. Victor says Brady always needed protection against his bad judgment. Kristen talks about how angry Victor was when Brady invited her to move in and says he would've done anything to break them up including letting them believe their baby had died. Victor asks if she's done because he has things to do. Kristen declares that she is done talking about this as she grabs a knife off the table. Kristen tells Victor that he deserves to die for what he did to her.

Chad and Abigail go to Julie's Place. Julie greets them and asks if they are in for a special occasion. They confirm it's been a good day and that Chad has been given a second chance as CEO of DiMera. Julie says that's wonderful. Chad adds that Gabi is out for good. Julie says that makes sense because shes just ran into her in the town square and she was unhinged. Julie adds that she put Gabi in her place so she thinks Gabi is finally ready to admit defeat.

Gabi remains in the town square in front of the Gabi Chic store. Gabi says first she loses Stefan and now she loses her business. Gabi adds that if she could do it over again, she would've never given Stefan's heart to Julie after they ripped him away from her and no one cared. Gabi cries that Stefan should be here now and that they don't deserve this. Gabi then imagines Stefan in the shop window.

Maggie calls Sarah from prison and it goes to voicemail. She leaves a message, saying she heard about the wedding and she needs to talk to her.

Xander calls Sarah and she finally answers. Xander asks where she is. Sarah asks what he wants.

Brady goes to the Salem Inn and calls Kristen but it goes to voicemail. Brady leaves a message that he's trying to find her and to call him back.

Victor questions what Kristen is going to do with the knife. Kristen says it's what should've been done a long time ago. Victor tells her not to be ridiculous. Kristen argues that he stole her child and now she may never see her again. Victor tells her not to be so dramatic as they will find her daughter. Kristen doesn't believe him. Victor tells her to put the knife down but she instead stabs him.
