Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 4/22/20

Gabi goes to the DiMera office, on the phone saying she needs to speak to Mr. Shin so they can do everything she can to make sure her husband's legacy is not forgotten. Gabi then sees someone sitting at the desk with their back turned and asks if it's Stefan.

At the DiMera Mansion, Chad finishes a call as Abigail comes back from walking Anna and Tony out. Chad informs Abigail that he just got a bit of breaking news about Kristen and says this time it's not her fault. Chad tells Abigail that she won't believe what Xander did to Kristen and Brady.

Xander is asleep in bed, dreaming about his entire relationship with Sarah and then her breaking things off with him at their wedding after finding out the truth about him switching the babies. Xander then wakes up to see Victor seated in his hotel room, who says it's about damn time.

Eric and Nicole are at the police station with Kristen. Kristen complains about Brady being on the phone with the ISA for hours and not being able to locate Sarah and her baby. Kristen worries about something happening or her baby being hurt. Nicole assures that Rachel is fine since Sarah loves her and would never put her in danger. Kristen talks about thinking her baby was dead all this time and now that she can finally be reunited with her, Sarah steals her from her. Eric suggests giving her time. Kristen argues that Sarah has already had her for a year and is now a kidnapper and a fugitive. Brady enters so Kristen asks him if he found their baby.

Sonny brings Will food in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion but Will is distracted trying to find news about Sarah and the baby but he finds nothing. Will can't believe his cousin took Brady's baby and that they could have stopped her.

Xander wishes he was still dreaming as he sees empty bottles around him. Victor tells him that more booze is the last thing he needs. Xander questions how Victor got in anyways. Victor informs him that last night he got a panicked call from the hotel, telling him that his CEO was trashing his room. Xander responds that he just lost the only woman he ever truly loved so he got a hotel room to try to erase the pain. Victor says he heard what happened and calls it tragic. Xander says his worst nightmare came true as Sarah found out the truth. Victor says now the whole world knows the babies were switched and asks how he could be so stupid.

Brady informs Kristen that the ISA made contact with the pilot of the Titan jet but there were no passengers on board. Brady adds that the pilot is on his way to tell them more. Brady says they haven't found them yet but it's a good lead. Kristen argues that every second she's gone is another that they don't have their baby. Kristen feels that she's slipping away from her again. Brady promises they are going to locate Sarah and get their baby back as he hugs her.

The man at the desk in the DiMera office turns around. Gabi question who he is and threatens to call security until he introduces himself as Li Shin, the son of Mr. Shin from the DiMera board of directors. Gabi apologizes for not knowing as they had never met. Li says it's fine and apologizes for startling her. Gabi remarks that it was kind of crazy that she thought he was her dead husband.

Chad tells Abigail about Xander switching Kristen's baby with Sarah's on the night they were born and Sarah was supposed to hand over the baby last night but she took off with her instead. Chad can't imagine what it must have been like for Kristen to find out Rachel was alive and asks who would do that to another mother. Abigail guesses Sarah must have been really suffering to do something like that after finding out Mickie was not her child. Chad questions if Abigail is taking Sarah's side.

Sonny tells Will that they had no way of knowing that Mickie wasn't Sarah's baby when they ran in to her. Will argues that he knew something was up with Sarah and he knew she was lying about why she wasn't wearing the wedding ring. Will feels he could've confronted her but he just let it go. Sonny encourages him that the only person to blame for this is Xander for switching the babies.

Xander reminds Victor that the baby switching was all his idea. Victor argues that Xander was a more than willing participant. Xander says he wanted to protect Sarah from the pain of losing a child. Victor adds that he wanted to protect Maggie which thank God he still can. Xander says maybe not for much longer. Victor says forever. Victor tells Xander that he's truly sorry that Sarah found out the truth but their job is not finished as they have to keep Maggie in the dark. Victor says it's bad enough that Maggie found out she was responsible for Adrienne's death so finding out that she killed her own granddaughter would destroy her.

The Titan pilot Joe arrives at the police station. Brady thanks him for coming while Kristen questions where he took her baby. Joe responds that as per Sarah's instructions, he flew her and the child to an air strip in London and she said not to wait for her. Brady asks if she said anything about where she was staying or her plans. Joe says she just told him to come back to Salem. Joe apologizes as he had no idea she was kidnapping a child. Kristen questions him not thinking something was up when she didn't file a flight plan. Joe explains that Sarah said she was going on her honeymoon and didn't want anyone to know where they were going. Kristen yells at him while Brady holds her back.

Gabi tells Li that her late husband has been on her mind lately and this was his office while he was sitting in his chair. Li apologizes for not calling first. Gabi says it's fine and asks what he's doing in Salem. Li explains that DiMera Enterprises has been without an official CEO for weeks and the board feels it's time to rectify that so his father sent him to assess the situation and make a decision. Gabi says he's come to the right place because there's no contest as she's the only choice to run the company.

Chad knows Sarah is Abigail's family but she has to admit that taking Kristen's child is wrong. Abigail says she can see Sarah's perspective which Chad questions. Abigail explains that Sarah and Eric were there from the minute that Mickie was sick until she was back in health. Chad points out that Sarah is not her mother and he doesn't think it makes any sense. Abigail argues that Sarah did everything a mother would do for her child and that's a really strong bond that you can't just flip on and off. Chad argues that Kristen wanted a child her entire life so he thinks taking that away from her is cruel. Abigail brings up that Kristen has been a part of more than one kidnapping herself. Chad asks if she's saying Kristen deserved it. Abigail points out that Kristen stole Theresa's baby right out of her womb. Chad argues that was a long time ago under different circumstances and that Kristen has changed. Abigail laughs that off and reminds Chad that Kristen killed Haley.

Will tells Sonny that he can't imagine what Sarah and Eric are going through, to learn the child they've been raising isn't theirs and that their real baby died almost a year ago. Sonny points out that Sarah's baby and his mom died from injuries in the same accident. Will realizes that means Maggie didn't just kill Adrienne but her own grandchild.

Xander tells Victor that he loves Maggie too but he doesn't see how they can keep her from finding out the truth. Victor feels her insisting on going to prison works in their favor. Xander feels she will eventually hear what happened from the news or another prisoner. Victor plans to talk to the warden to have Maggie as insulated as possible. Victor says he has people looking out for Maggie as it is so he'll pay them a little more to make sure she doesn't find out the details of the accident. Xander asks what about when Sarah realizes that her own mother was responsible for the death of her child. Xander wouldn't be surprised if Sarah is already at the prison confronting Maggie. Victor confirms that she's not as he reveals to Xander that Sarah fled the country last night with Brady and Kristen's baby.

Kristen yells at Joe while Brady holds her back. Nicole tells Kristen to leave him alone and calm down. Joe apologizes and says he feels terrible. Brady thanks him for talking to them and says to call if he remembers anything. Joe agrees to do so and then exits. Kristen complains that he was useless. Brady says it wasn't his fault. Kristen agrees and declares that she doesn't blame him, she blames Eric.

Li comments that Gabi is awfully sure of herself. Gabi asks why she wouldn't be when she has the knowledge, drive, and experience to run the company. Li points out that the board had to fire her because of what she did to Julie. Gabi insists that she's still the best candidate and questions if he's going to hire Chad instead. Gabi says that would be a huge mistake and she can tell him all the reasons why.

Chad tells Abigail that Haley's death was an accident but Abigail argues that Kristen pushed Haley down the stairs. Chad shouts that Kristen lost her mind over losing a child and it was all a lie since the kid was alive. Abigail admits that Haley could still be alive if Xander hadn't triggered Kristen and then maybe Haley and JJ could have been genuinely happy together. Chad agrees that what Xander did affected a lot of people. Abigail notes that includes Sarah, who will be grieving the loss of her baby forever. Chad apologizes for not being more compassionate to what Sarah is going through. Abigail apologizes for not being more sensitive to Chad's sister. They agree not to fight. Chad says they have to be on the same team to get rid of Gabi once and for all. Abigail agrees that Gabi has to be out of the house and out of DiMera. Chad gets a call back from his assistant Roxanne and says they'll be right there.

Xander questions Victor about Sarah kidnapping Mickie and says that can't be right. Victor asks if it's so hard to believe. Xander says he knew she left the mansion with the baby last night but he and Eric just assumed that she went to give the baby back to Brady and Kristen. Victor says Sarah couldn't go through with it and took off for the Titan jet without a flight plan. Xander questions where they went. Victor explains that Brady was getting in touch with the pilot but he hasn't heard anything yet. Xander can't believe Sarah would do this. Victor states that she was desperate. Xander brings up that she turned down running away with him and the baby so he never thought she'd go off on her own. Victor guesses she preferred to make her escape without him. Xander worries that she doesn't have his resources and is out there all by herself so he has to find her. Victor reminds him that she said she never wants to see him again. Xander argues that she's going to need his help to evade Brady and Kristen. Victor warns that if they track her down first, Kristen will unleash a fury on Sarah unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Nicole questions how any of this is Eric's fault. Kristen argues that Eric convinced Brady to let Sarah say goodbye to Rachel while she wanted to go get her baby but they had to put Sarah's feelings first. Brady says that nobody could have anticipated that Sarah would do something like this. Kristen apologizes to Eric as she didn't mean to take it out on him. Kristen admits if it wasn't for Eric and Nicole, she and Brady would never have known their baby was alive. Kristen cries that she's just so scared that she's never going to see her baby again. Kristen tells Brady that if they don't get her back, she doesn't know what she's going to do.

Sonny guesses Xander was trying to protect Maggie while Will worries about what this is going to do to her. Sonny thinks Maggie deserves to be told but Will questions rubbing it in her face that she killed her own grandchild after all she's been through.

Xander says he has to find Sarah. Victor questions if he's sure he wants to get involved with this since she's a fugitive and he's had enough trouble as it is. Xander doesn't care since Sarah needs him and he'll do anything to make sure she and the baby are okay. Victor doesn't think Sarah will see it that way. Xander hopes in time she could change her mind but he feels he needs to help her even if she never forgives him. Xander declares he's in love with Sarah more than anything in the world.

Kristen apologizes to Brady for lashing out at everyone. Eric says he doesn't blame her. Brady offers to take her home so she can rest for when they get their baby back.

Gabi tells Li that Chad may have the DiMera name but he doesn't have Stefano's killer instinct. Li points out that Chad was able to reacquire all the shares from Kate. Gabi argues that Chad was going to hand them over to brainwashed Steve Johnson and that Chad attacked her and Kate then tried to kill them. Li thought she said Chad doesn't have a killer instinct so he asks which one it is. Gabi says it's both since Chad turned into a psycho zombie. Gabi calls Chad unstable, unreliable, and unfit for this job right as Chad walks in with Abigail. Chad tells Li it's great to see him again. Li says the last time they saw each other, the circumstances weren't so ideal. Gabi comments on Chad being fired for sexual harassment but Abigail points out that Chad was reinstated after evidence proved that Juliet framed him. Gabi says there is always some excuse and calls Chad easily manipulated. Li says he's not here to talk about Paris but to decide who should run the company. Li admits that Gabi has made some very convincing arguments against Chad.

Nicole and Eric go in to the interrogation room. Nicole tells Eric that she's so sorry that he has to deal with this on top of finding out that Mickie isn't his. Eric responds that he would never say this in front of Brady or Kristen but he understands why Sarah ran off since he didn't want to let go of the baby either. Brady enters the room after taking Kristen home and asks if there's any news. Eric informs him that Rafe and the ISA have contacted local authorities in London but there's still no sign of Sarah or the baby. Eric encourages that they will find her. Brady questions how he didn't know that Mickie was his baby. Nicole asks how he would know. Brady feels that Kristen knew deep down that she always had that connection.

Kristen lays in bed and dreams of the night she was told that her baby had died and then when Eric didn't let her hold Mickie. Kristen sits up and says she was so close to holding her. Kristen declares that she can't stay here anymore as she has to find her baby so she gets out of bed.

Will tells Sonny that he has every right to be angry with Maggie but wanting her to suffer like that seems cruel. Sonny clarifies that was not what he meant. Will asks why they would tell her then. Sonny explains that the truth is going to get out so he would hate for Maggie to find out through the guards, other inmates, or the news. Will suggests maybe Maggie doesn't have to know. Sonny questions how they would keep it from her. Will then admits maybe he should go to the prison now and tell her. Will says everyone is focused on the missing baby while no one understands how Maggie feels now better than he does. Will decides he will go find a gentle way to break the news to Maggie about Sarah and the baby but Victor walks in and says like hell he will.

Nicole questions how Brady could possibly have known that Xander switched the babies. Brady points out that Nicole figured it out. Nicole says she got lucky after seeing the birth mark that he mentioned and then she started thinking about Xander insisting on Tate getting tested for bone marrow. Brady remembers that Xander pushed for Tate to get tested but it was Victor who convinced Theresa to do it. Brady realizes that Victor knew it was his baby all along.

Abigail questions Li giving weight to Gabi's arguments. Li notes they are pretty damning. Abigail calls Gabi a liar. Gabi brings up Chad being recently brainwashed and trying to kill her. Chad says he can explain that and make a case for himself. Chad suggests he and Li discuss this further in his office. Li decides that won't be necessary as he's fully aware of the strength and weaknesses of Chad and Gabi so he's prepared to make a decision.

Eric wonders if he should've gone after Brady since he was so furious. Nicole says they can't blame him if his own grandfather knew that his baby was alive and didn't tell him. Eric can't believe Victor would do something like this. Nicole says she can and she wouldn't want to be Victor when Brady gets his hands on him.

Victor orders Will and Sonny not to breathe a word to Maggie about the babies or Sarah because the truth would kill her. Sonny asks if Victor is not worried that she will find out some other way. Victor declares he will do everything in his power to see that does not happen. Will promises they won't tell her. Victor asks them to tell the rest of the family the same. Sonny agrees to call Justin. Will adds that they are sorry about all of this as they exit. Victor looks at Maggie's photo on the mantle and says that everything he did was to protect her. Brady walks in and asks if that's why he let him think his daughter was dead.

Xander calls Sarah but it goes to voicemail as he exits his room. He leaves a message that he knows she's angry but she has to call him back because he wants to help her. Kristen comes around the corner and questions what he wants to help Sarah do.

Sarah enters a hotel room with baby Rachel in Paris, France and calls it their new home.
