Days of Our Lives Update Wednesday 4/1/20

Eli brings Lani breakfast in bed. They talk about Rafe getting David back as Eli mention he knows how scared Lani was for him. They talk about losing their son then Eli asks if she thinks it's time they start trying again. They are interrupted by a knock at the door. Eli says he'll get rid of whoever is at the door but it turns out to be his old friend Sheila, who says she had to come back to Salem because she needs his help.

Will enters the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and announces to Sonny that he just found out that Marlena was rescued last night. Sonny informs him that Rafe called and said they couldn't tie Evan to the kidnapping so they released him this morning. Sonny adds that he's out on bail so he has to stick around Salem. Sonny hopes they never cross paths with him again. The doorbell rings so Sonny hopes it's not him. Will goes to answer the door and tells Sonny that it's even worse as they are shocked to see the return of Leo Stark.

Ciara and Ben wake up in bed together. They wish they could stay like this all day. There's a knock at their door so they get up, get dressed, and Ben answers the door to see Clyde. Ben questions what he's doing out of prison. Clyde tells him he went over the wall so Ben has to hide him.

Nicole returns home to Eric and they kiss. Eric mentions that Holly is still asleep and offers to make her breakfast while she tells him about her trip. Nicole stops him and says she wasn't completely honest about why she went to New York. Nicole suggests he sits down as she has a lot to tell him. They are interrupted by a knock at the door so Nicole answers it and is shocked to apparently see her deceased ex, Dr. Daniel Jonas.

Ben questions how Clyde knew where to find him. Clyde says he has friends on the outside so Ciara says one of them should hide him then. Clyde responds that Ben owes him. Ciara wants Ben to tell him to go but Ben explains that Clyde helped him escape prison and turned him on to Orpheus too. Ciara reminds Ben of when Clyde used to beat him as a kid. Clyde says he's only here because he has nowhere else to go so he begs him not to turn his back on him.

Will and Sonny tell Leo to go but he walks in anyways. Leo jokes about their memories. Leo asks about Xander, Brady, and Maggie then says he came to see Sonny and Will.

Sheila apologizes for barging in. Lani asks if she wants to speak to Eli alone. Sheila says no because she needs Lani's help too as somebody took her baby. Lani asks about her baby's father. Sheila then claims that Eli is the baby's father.

Nicole argues that it can't be Daniel. Daniel swears it is. Eric talks about going to prison for killing him in the car crash. Nicole asks how this can be. Daniel brings up Dr. Rolf and says they can talk about all that later but he's alive and here to take his life back. Daniel asks about their daughter and then kisses Nicole in front of Eric.

Ben agrees to let Clyde stay which shocks Ciara. Clyde talks about getting Ben some business deals to thank him which Ciara questions. Clyde offers to get Ben started today by delivering a package.

Lani questions Eli having a baby with Sheila. Eli says this is the first he's heard about it. Sheila didn't want him to feel obligated. Lani questions them hooking up. Eli calls it a one night stand. Sheila says they have to find their baby girl.

Sonny tells Leo that he can't come between he and Will again and talks about all they have been through. Leo promises he's not here to cause trouble but to make all of their dreams come true.

Daniel says all he ever thought about was getting back to Nicole and now they can finally be a family. Nicole tells him that a lot has happened. Daniel wants to pick up where they left off and proposes to Nicole. Nicole points out that 10 minutes ago he was dead. Daniel guesses a proposal was a little sudden. Nicole tells him a lot has changed over the last 5 years. Daniel asks if she stopped loving him. Nicole says losing him was the worst thing to ever happen to her but she had to go on. Nicole informs him that she's with Eric now. Eric says he's sorry but they are in love. Daniel brings up Eric being the reason he lost the last five years of his life so he owes him and Holly the family she never had. Nicole says she needs to speak to Eric in private so they step aside. Eric questions if she's actually going to run away with Daniel. Nicole tells Eric that she loves him so much but she loves Daniel too and she has to do what's best for Holly. Eric argues that he has nothing to do with Holly and questions if she's leaving him for Daniel. Nicole hopes he will one day understand. Nicole then calls Daniel back over and agrees to marry him. Daniel suggests they do it right now and hugs her.

Eli makes a phone call while Lani talks to Sheila about how she and Eli were just talking about trying to have another baby and now he has one. Sheila asks if Lani is okay with this since babies have a way of bringing people together. Lani says they weren't together and Eli is with her now. Sheila points out that Eli was with Gabi last year so you can never tell.

Leo brings up Will and Sonny thinking about having another kid and says thanks to his new line of work, he has a baby for them to adopt. They ask whos baby it is. Leo wants them to meet their new daughter as Ben brings in a black baby girl.

Ciara can't believe Ben is running an errand for Clyde. Clyde assures Ben will be paid. Ciara questions the delivery, guessing it's drugs. Ciara thinks he got Ben involved in a scam so she's going to turn him in. Clyde stops her from making the call and grabs her, saying he's not going to let her ruin this.

Eli finishes his call with the FBI and says they are investigating what is believed to a baby brokering ring as the key players might be in Salem right now. Eli says the head of the organization is Clyde Weston, who broke out of prison. Sheila wants to go find him but Eli informs her that his friend thinks an associate of Clyde's may have the baby.

Will questions what's going on and how Ben is a part of this. Ben says he was asked to make a delivery but had no idea it would be a baby. Ben drops off the baby and leaves. Sonny questions Leo where he got the baby. Leo calls it his new business endeavor and asks what they think.

Abe goes to perform Nicole and Daniel's wedding and says he still can't believe it's Daniel. Abe begins the ceremony. Daniel then has him skip to the vows but Eric interrupts and declares that she can't marry Daniel because he's already married.

Ben returns to his motel room where Ciara informs him that she killed Clyde.

Nicole questions if Daniel is married. Daniel questions how Eric found out. Eric says he did a search and found some wedding photos. Daniel assures she means nothing to him. Nicole asks what took him so long to come back home then. Daniel says he needed to clear his head so he went to Australia for inner peace.

Sonny argues that Leo can't just expect to sell them a baby but Will decides he wants her. Eli and Sheila then walk in. Sheila takes the baby and says it's their baby. Eli explains that she was kidnapped from her apartment a week ago. Sheila can't believe Leo is behind it. Leo says he didn't know it was her baby. Sheila tells him to never come near them again as she takes the baby and exits with Eli.

Ben checks Clyde's pulse. Ciara says she was defending herself as he tried to strangle her so she hit him with a bottle of wine. Ciara says she was going to turn him into the police because she didn't want him to drag Ben down with him. Ciara cries that she didn't mean to kill him. Ben hugs her and apologizes for letting him stay alone with her. Ciara asks what they are going to do. Ben says they will tell the police the truth but they worry about having to tell them that Ben let him stay. Ciara says they have to get rid of the body as no one can know he was there. Lani then shows up outside, saying she needs to talk to Ben about his father. Ben tells Ciara to stay calm and let him do the talking. Ben answers the door so Lani informs him that Clyde broke out of prison and asks if he contacted him. Ciara quickly says he hasn't but Ben says that's not true and admits he was there today but he refused to hide him. Ben claims Ciara wasn't there but he had to get rid of him and he doesn't know where he went. Ciara asks why Lani is looking for him when she's not a cop anymore. Lani explains that they found out Clyde started a blackmarket baby business and kidnapped Eli's baby so she wants to make sure he pays. Ben says they'll let her know if he hears him from him but he doesn't think he will.

Sonny can't believe Leo tried to sell them a stolen baby. Will then gets Leo out of the room.

Lani exits the Salem Inn and finds Eli and Sheila in the town square with their baby. They explain that they found Leo trying to sell their baby. Lani tells them that Ben said he didn't want anything to do with Clyde. Sheila suggests Lani keep looking for Clyde so she can have alone time with Eli and her baby. Eli then claims to Lani that he's decided to be with Sheila for their daughter. Lani wants a DNA test. Eli agrees to go to the hospital now. Sheila then admits that she lied and her daughter is not Eli's. Lani asks who's baby it is as Daniel then arrives and questions what Sheila is doing here.

Sonny goes to talk to Will but finds him in bed with Leo.

Eric and Nicole reunite. Eric says Nicole said she had something important to tell him about her trip before. Nicole decides it can wait until tomorrow as they kiss.

Daniel kisses Sheila. Lani questions how they know each other. Sheila reveals Daniel as her husband. Eli thought he was dead. Lani asks if Daniel is the father. Daniel says no as she was pregnant when they met and she told him the baby's father was in Salem. Eli questions who the father is then. Abe appears and says he hasn't seen Sheila since her last night in Salem. Sheila then tells Abe to come say hello to his new daughter.

Ben and Ciara talk about having to get rid of Clyde's body. Ciara worries about it being traced back to them so Ben says they'll have to go on the run as they kiss.

Sonny questions Will being in bed with Leo. Leo then looks to the camera and declares "April Fools", revealing the entire episode was a joke.
