At the hospital, Brady and Kristen talk about making their charity. Kristen thanks him for keeping their little girl's memory alive as they hug. Brady decides he will go check on John to see if there's any news on Marlena. Kristen then gets a text from Chad, saying there's urgent family matters. Brady tells her to ask him if there's any leads on Steve. Kristen kisses Brady and then exits the hospital.

Hattie questions Roman as to why she should stay.

Stefano tells Marlena that last night was emotional for them both and he feels they are growing closer every day. Marlena admits it was eventful. Stefano asks her what's wrong. Marlena responds that she had a hard time sleeping because she kept thinking about someone..

John is on the phone, questioning how Stefano and Marlena disappeared off the face of the earth. John argues that Stefano always leaves a trail. John hangs up as the doorbell rings. John goes to answer the door but only finds an envelope on the floor.

Abigail goes to the living room of the DiMera Mansion looking for Chad but he's not there so she wonders if he's in the tunnels chasing those rats..

Kate and Gabi remain locked up in the DiMera tunnels. Chad enters the room with a gun and tells them that last night he was distracted but today they have his full attention.

Abigail goes to enter the tunnels but Tony and Anna enter the mansion. Abigail questions what they are doing here. Anna is surprised Chad didn't tell her as Tony informs her that Chad asked them to come for a very important family meeting. Abigail guesses she must have forgotten.

Kate argues that she knows why Chad is doing this and it's not him. Gabi encourages him to listen. Kate insists that she's on Chad's side and he's always been like a son to her. Kate tells Chad that he doesn't want to kill them but Chad says he does. Kate argues that he just thinks he does because Stefano has brainwashed him.

Stefano tells Marlena that they talked about this last time she dreamed of John. Stefano states that John is her past while he is her present and future. Marlena clarifies that she wasn't thinking of John but of Kate since he said he was planning on having Gabi and Kate killed while she told him she didn't want that to happen. Stefano admires her compassion but insists they must be eliminated for his sake and hers so they can have their future together. Marlena declares that if he has Kate killed, they will not have a future. She adds that if anything happens to Kate or Gabi, she will walk out the door and never look back.

Brady goes to see John and asks if there's any news on Marlena. John shows him the envelope he received at the door which is a divorce decree, dated today. John notes that the papers have a notary seal. Brady offers to go talk to the notary while John says he will check the security footage to try to zero in on who dropped the package off. John finds something else in the envelope and recognizes Stefano's handwriting as it says John is a pawn while Marlena is his now and forever.

Marlena tells Stefano that she doesn't care what he says about Kate as she is her friend and a member of her family so she won't let him take her away from them. Stefano argues that she's being short sighted. Marlena says if he really cares about her, he will respect her wishes. Stefano accepts that he cannot change her mind and says he will make a phone call, promising that no one will be hurt. Stefano suggests she go back upstairs and look in her bedroom closet as he left her a present that she will like. Stefano kisses her on the cheek and sends her upstairs.

Anna tells Abigail that she's sorry if Chad didn't let her know what's going on. Kristen then arrives and greets them. Kristen assumes Chad asked Tony here for the meeting. Tony says Chad is apparently nowhere to be found. Abigail mentions their pest problem so he's probably in the tunnels handling it himself. Kristen asks if she's sure that's what's going on in the tunnels. Tony asks what else it would be. Kristen asks how they know Stefano isn't down there. Abigail says that's why Chad is down there now checking it out. Kristen wants to see for herself.

Chad holds his gun on Kate and Gabi. Kate talks about spending time with Steve/Stefano and doing his bidding which she regrets. Kate knows how he got to Chad and never letting him see him while laying the groundwork to pull him back into his web. Kate argues that Stefano was brainwashing him the entire time. Gabi brings up the letter so Kate shows it to Chad, which she calls the trigger that set him into motion. Kate reads the part of the letter that says "the most important thing in life is La Familia" as Chad loads his gun.

Roman calls Hattie a special woman and praises her bravery for putting her life on the line for Marlena. Roman says he's been so impressed by the woman she's become and a lot of others feel the same way. Roman calls her indispensable to the Brady Pub since she covered for him on all these hectic days. Roman says she's become very important to him, the Pub, Marlena, and this town. Roman adds that she makes Salem better. Roman says she has a home here and that's why he doesn't want her to go. Roman tells her she's gained everyone's respect and despite what she thinks, he is not the only guy for her as a lot of guys would be lucky to have her in their life. Hattie decides she doesn't need a guy to complete her as she's fine the way she is. Hattie knows they don't have a relationship or anything between them but she's dumping his ass.

Kate argues that Chad will regret this as Gabi pleads with him. Chad then gets a call and exits the room, leaving Gabi and Kate relieved. Chad answers the call from Stefano, who asks if it's done yet. Chad says he was on the verge of eliminating them when he called. Stefano tells him to pull back for the moment as there has been a complication and there are more important things to deal with like the family meeting he requested. Chad says he left word for Tony and Kristen but hasn't heard back yet. Stefano tells him that they need them on their side so he wants him to say whatever he has to say to get them to meet immediately, without alerting anyone. Chad says he understands. Stefano says he can't afford any of his mistakes as La Familia needs him.

Abigail stops Kristen from going into the tunnels and says that's not necessary. Kristen argues that no one knows the basement better than she does. Abigail says it's her home so she and Chad will handle it themselves. Kristen wants to go with Abigail but Anna argues that Abigail doesn't want her to go with her since Chad didn't tell her about this meeting so she obviously wants a word alone with him. Abigail says they can stay or she can give them a call when she knows something. Tony says they will wait. Chad then comes out of the tunnels. Abigail says she was just about to come tell him that his siblings are all here. Chad thanks them for coming. Tony notes that he said it was urgent. Chad says it is. Abigail questions Chad not telling her they were coming. Chad apologizes and claims it just slipped his mind. Abigail asks what this is about. Chad tells her that he's sorry but it's a DiMera Family matter so he will need to talk to Tony and Kristen alone. Anna says they should've expected this and invites Abigail to lunch at the Pub. Anna says she wants to say hi to Roman and anyways. Abigail tells Chad they will talk about this later. Anna and Abigail then exit together. Tony asks if this meeting involves Stefano which Chad confirms. Chad says Stefano summoned them for this very important meeting. Kristen questions what it's about. Chad says that Stefano didn't give him details and just that they'd find out when they got there. Kristen asks if he swears that he's not in the tunnels. Chad responds that there's nothing but rats. Tony asks how they can trust Chad. Chad says if Stefano was here, he'd take them downstairs. Kristen asks where he is then. Chad tells them to come with him. Kristen says he could just tell them. Chad asks why it's so important for her to know right now. Kristen brings up John, Brady, and Marlena's kids being worried about Marlena so they need to help them find her. Chad says he can't let her do that.

John finishes a call as Brady returns and asks if there's any news on the security cameras. John reveals the cameras were disabled so there's no way of knowing who dropped the package off. John asks what he found out from the notary. Brady says he said the man that brought in the divorce decree paid in cash and convinced him to put the seal on the document despite some inconsistencies. Brady adds that he showed the photo and confirms that it was "Steve" but he was alone. John says he couldn't have gotten far and is probably still in town so all they have to do is track down Steve and he'll lead them right to Marlena.

Marlena goes to her bedroom closet to find the present that Stefano left for her, a wedding dress.

Gabi asks what is wrong with Kate and why she would say "La Familia" if she knew that was the trigger word. Kate argues that she was trying to show Chad what's happening to him. Gabi mocks that she would've got a bullet to the head. Kate insists that Chad won't shoot either of them as she could see in his eyes that something inside of him is fighting whatever Stefano did. Gabi feels she's wrong and they will both be dead.

Kristen argues that if Chad knows where Stefano is, they need to tell John and Brady. Kristen pulls away from Chad and says she's going to alert them while Tony calls the police. Chad grabs her and says she will do no such thing. Chad adds that Stefano made it very clear that no one is to know about this meeting, especially the police. Tony calls this absurd and argues that it's Steve Johnson. Chad disagrees and says he may look like Steve but he has their father's consciousness, desire, and drive. Chad declares that for all intents and purposes, he is their father. Tony reminds him that he met him too in Prague and he was just as volatile towards Anna as Stefano was. Kristen decides that they need to treat Steve as if he's their father. Kristen hopes Brady will forgive her since they've come so far and she's not going to let the love of her life slip through her fingers. Kristen asks Tony if Anna will be okay with him protecting Stefano which he admits she won't be. Kristen warns Chad that he could lose Abigail over something like this. Chad says that shows how vitally important this is because he's not telling Abigail about this or where they are going because if anyone says a word about this, Marlena is going to die.

Stefano goes to ask Marlena if she likes her dress, noting he had it designed just for her. Marlena calls it too much and says it's all happening way too fast. Stefano says he's waited his whole life for this. He knows she disapproved of his plans for Gabi and Kate but he did as she asked and stopped the killing. Stefano says he has shown her his devotion so now it's time for her to him hers. Stefano then gets down on one knee and proposes to Marlena.

Hattie tells Roman that she didn't mean to hurt his feelings. Roman says it does hurt but he totally understands. Hattie jokes if that she hadn't broken up with him, he could fall crazy in love with her. Hattie says that wouldn't change her or life or make her feel like she is somebody. Roman encourages that she already is somebody.

Kristen doesn't believe Stefano would ever hurt Marlena when he loves her. Chad has no doubt that he'd rather have Marlena dead than with someone else. Chad says he cares about Marlena too and doesn't want to see her hurt which is why they have to do everything Stefano asks and make him believe they are loyal to him. Kristen asks if they are just doing this to keep Marlena safe. Chad says if they do everything he asks, he will tell them where Marlena is hidden and they will be able to protect her. Kristen asks if he will take them to him. Chad says only if they promise to keep it secret as no one can know where they are headed, not Abigail, Anna, and certainly not Brady or John.

Brady tells John that the notary said "Steve" said it was urgent that the divorce decree be delivered today otherwise he and his fiancee wouldn't be able to get married tonight. John is shocked and calls this insanity, arguing there's no way that this marriage would be legal. Brady tells him that won't stop Stefano.

Marlena asks if Stefano has lost his mind. Stefano says he's never been more clear. Marlena asks how she could possibly marry him when she's still married to John. Stefano tells her that's all been taken care of as her marriage to John is over so there's nothing stopping them from becoming husband and wife.

Roman calls Hattie one of a kind. Hattie wonders what might be next for her and says she was thinking about putting her talents to use in creating her next chapter. Hattie says she's a really great cook so maybe she could do a cooking show on the internet. Roman says he would watch that. Hattie suggests she could do an advice blog as well. Roman thinks she can do whatever she chooses to do.

Kate tells Gabi about when she and Ted Laurent were locked in the DiMera Tunnels so she jokes that she's going to stock the room if she gets out. They mention being thirsty. Kate has a bottle of champagne that was left down there but Gabi takes it from her and pours it out, saying she has an idea.

Chad asks if they can agree to not tell anyone they are meeting with their father, for Marlena's sake. Tony shakes hands with Chad. Chad knows Kristen isn't a fan of Marlena but she doesn't want her blood on her hands. Kristen adds her hand to theirs. Anna and Abigail come back in. Abigail questions what's going on here. Tony responds that they are much stronger together than they are alone. Kristen says they have a meeting at DiMera Enterprises and exits. Anna questions Tony leaving now. Tony says he won't be long and exits. Abigail asks Chad if everything is okay. Chad says it will be, kisses her on the cheek, and exits. Abigail asks Anna if she trusts them. Anna says about as far as she could throw their father.

Marlena asks Stefano how her marriage could be over when she was never divorced or signed any papers. Stefano assures that he's taken care of everything and tells her to let go of her old life to let it stay in the past. Marlena questions her marriage being over. Stefano tells her that an incredible journey awaits. He tells her to get ready to celebrate their new life. Marlena realizes the party he was talking about is their wedding. Stefano says he wants his children there to witness the moment she becomes Mrs. Stefano DiMera, Queen of La Familia. Stefano declares it's time for him to give her the life she always dreamt of and to make her happy beyond her wildest dreams. Stefano tells her that all she has to do is say yes. Marlena hesitates then says yes as he hugs her. Stefano assures that she won't be sorry. Stefano gets a text from Chad and says perfect timing as he must go greet Chad. Stefano tells Marlena to put on her dress as he can't wait to see how beautiful she looks in it. Stefano kisses Marlena and then exits the room. Marlena looks worried as she goes back to the closet.

John asks Brady what if Stefano has brainwashed Marlena and she's willingly going along with this. Brady says he wouldn't have risked sending the divorce decree if he wasn't sure that Marlena would cooperate. John says it doesn't matter if it's legal since Stefano's ultimate goal isn't just to marry her but to consummate the marriage.

Roman asks Hattie if she's sure she doesn't want to stick around until she figures out her next step. Hattie decides it's a big world out there so she has to see where she fits in. Hattie packs her bag and goes to leave but stops to thank Roman for everything. Roman thanks her for the kindness, the laughs, and being such a good friend. Hattie calls him a good guy with a big heart. Roman calls her a really good person and says he's really going to miss her. Hattie says she will miss him too as she then exits.

Kate questions Gabi pouring out the champagne when it's the only thing that might keep them alive. Gabi responds that she's thinking about using it as a weapon.

Abigail admits it's been nice to have Anna to talk about this whole thing. Anna jokes that as DiMera wives they have to stick together. Abigail notes that it can be lonely being suspicious of your husband. Abigail says she really loves Chad but he's still a DiMera. Anna relates to what she's going through and admits she's worried about whatever they are all up to.

Stefano greets Chad, Tony, and Kristen. Chad assures they were not followed. Stefano tells Kristen that he knows she's been through so much so it's wonderful to see her doing better. Kristen says it's good to see him. Stefano tells Tony that he's sorry he couldn't reveal his true self to him in Prague but thanks him for coming. Kristen asks what this family meeting is all about. Stefano responds that it's not a family meeting, but a wedding, as he's marrying his Queen of the Night and he wants them all to be apart of it.

Brady assures John that they will find Marlena. John says he has to find her tonight and stop this sham of a marriage and whatever Stefano thinks will happen afterwards.

Marlena puts on her wedding dress and hears John's voice telling her not to do this.
