Nicole says she has to go to work but Xander says she's going to be late. Nicole tells him to get his hands off of her as Sarah comes around the corner and asks what's going on. Xander says he just needed to speak to Nicole in private about Mackenzie which Sarah questions.

Kayla goes in to check on Hope in her hospital room. Hope talks about living a year and a half with a microchip in her head and acting like a psychopath so she asks how she's supposed to be feeling.

Kate goes to the DiMera Mansion looking for Chad. She finds the paper that Stefano gave Chad with the location and date he wanted his kids together on. Chad then calls out to Kate so she hides the paper. Chad enters with the knife behind his back and says he's glad she is there as he was just thinking about her. Chad thinks back to Stefano ordering him to kill Kate and Gabi. Chad then tells Kate that he has big plans for her.

Stefano sits at a chess table and says if Dr. Rolf did his job as promised, he's finally going to have his queen. Marlena then comes into the room wearing a dark dress.

Brady and Kristen talk about liking him in the new Basic Black boxers. Kristen suggests they go another round but Brady thinks they are lucky no one walked in and suggests taking this home. They kiss until Kristen pulls away and Brady guesses she's thinking about their daughter.

Sarah asks what Xander needed to talk to Nicole about her baby. Xander claims he was hoping she would talk to Eric for him to make sure he doesn't try to cut him out of Mickie's life. Sarah says Eric gave his word that the decision would be up to her. Xander says he just wanted to make sure he'd have time with her now that they are engaged, which shocks Nicole. Sarah confirms Xander proposed last night and she accepted. Nicole questions her not telling her earlier and argues that Sarah has no idea what she's getting herself in to.

Kayla encourages Hope that she's a good person and has nothing to feel guilty about. Hope talks about pushing Jennifer off the balcony and costing her a year of her life. Kayla assures that Jennifer doesn't blame her as Dr. Rolf did this. Hope asks why he did it this time.

Kate hopes Chad is thinking about keeping his promise to her. Chad responds that he always keeps his promises. Kate reminds him that her charges are still hanging over her head. Chad talks about how Stefano and Princess Gina trusted and relied on her. Kate says she never should've let that happen. Chad says he gave her his word that she won't have to worry about going to prison anymore. Kate responds that he sounded just like his father right then.

Stefano tells Marlena that she looks lovely and asks if she enjoyed her rest. Marlena says she still feels a bit disoriented. Stefano says he had this house built for her because everything is for her. Marlena mentions having a vivid dream where she was with John.

Sarah tells Nicole that she's heard stories about Nicole's many marriages. Nicole says Xander was her least favorite. Sarah insists that Xander isn't the man he used to be. Xander adds that Sarah's love changed him. Nicole wishes Sarah luck and says she's sure as hell going to need it as she exits the hospital. Sarah tells Xander that Nicole just wants to fight so he can either go after Nicole or come with her to see Mickie. Xander says he'd love to but thinks he should avoid Eric for now. Xander decides he'll go finish Titan business and catch up with her later. Sarah kisses him and walks away while Xander leaves the hospital.

Hope tells Kayla that she won't rest until she gets the answers she needs and questions why Dr. Rolf made her Princess Gina again. Kayla informs her that he was apparently just following Stefano's orders. Hope questions Stefano being back. Kayla calls that a complicated question.

Stefano tells Marlena that John is gone and she's with him now as this is where she belongs. Marlena asks what this place is. Stefano explains that many years ago they spent time at his estate in New Orleans which is where she became his Queen of the Night and he's never stopped thinking about that time. Marlena asks if that's where they are. Stefano informs her that they are still in Salem but he had it rebuilt for her here and this is where they will reclaim their love.

Kate notes that Chad is still wearing Stefano's ring. She hopes he's not letting Stefano convince him to do things that he wouldn't otherwise do, like compromise himself as a father and husband. Kate knows that Chad made a vow to focus on his own family and be a better man for Abigail and his children. Kate asks him what's wrong as he keeps hold of the knife behind his back.

Brady encourages Kristen to focus on what they have and thinks their daughter would want them to move on as they hug.

Xander catches up to Nicole outside and says he wanted to finish their conversation. Nicole questions him wanting her to convince Eric to let him spend time with Mackenzie. Nicole says Eric hates him and nothing can change that. Nicole tells him not to follow her again. Xander stops him and says he got an unsettling message from Dr. Raynor who said Nicole came to her with a crazy theory about him switching the babies. Xander questions what makes her think that. Nicole says she saw him threatening Dr. Raynor and she also saw the birth mark on Mackenzie's neck. Nicole informs him that Brady said he and Kristen's daughter had a birth mark in the same exact place. Xander argues that doesn't prove anything but Nicole thinks it proves that Mackenzie is really Rachel. Xander warns her to drop this immediately. Nicole asks if he's going to kill her if not.

Kate asks Chad what's wrong but he says he just hasn't been sleeping well and has a lot on his mind. Kate asks if his father has approached him again with another twisted agenda. Kate talks about knowing how seductive Stefano can be at getting people who love him to do his bidding. Kate asks if he's contacted Chad again. Chad then grabs a statue off the table and knocks out Kate.

Kayla tells Hope that it's hard to understand and explain but she's not the only person that Dr. Rolf targeted. Kayla informs her that he also did it to Steve so Steve now believes he's Stefano.

Stefano gives Marlena a gift of a cactus known as the queen of the night, explaining that it blooms once a year in the presence of total darkness. Stefano calls it a symbol of his patience and willingness to wait for her. Stefano declares that now his patience has finally paid off..

Nicole calls Xander a clown. Xander says he doesn't have to threaten her because her theory isn't true and she's just addicted to drama. Xander argues that her accusations could hurt innocent people. Xander doesn't care what she thinks she's seen. Xander adds that Eric and Sarah have been through enough so repeating this insane baby switching theory will just upset them for no reason. Xander tells Nicole that Mackenzie is Sarah and Eric's so she can drop it. Xander then walks away. Nicole reaches in her purse and pulls out the swab with Mackenzie's DNA on it. Nicole declares that she's sorry but she can't do that and walks away.

Hope tells Kayla that last she knew of Steve he was in Europe trying to undo a security breach. Kayla explains that Stefano tracked him down and Dr. Rolf performed his procedure of uploading Stefano's personality, memories, and essence in to Steve and then Gina brought him back here. Hope tells her that she's so sorry as Steve is her one true love so she must be dying to have him back. Kayla says they can't worry about that as their big concern is that "Steve" has taken Marlena hostage and they don't know where they are.

Stefano almost kisses Marlena but she pulls away and says she can't do this. Stefano asks why not. Marlena complains of a headache. Stefano massages her to help.

Chad stands over Kate's unconscious body and declares that he's sorry but his only allegiance is to his family. Gabi then walks in and says it's about time he acknowledges that he's just as ruthless as the rest of the DiMeras.

Kristen informs Brady that Chad left a message to get the family together to discuss the future of the company. Brady is sure everyone will be impressed with the direction they're taking Basic Black. Kristen says she'd love for him to be by her side but it seems the meeting is just for family. Kristen assures she'll represent their interests. Brady guesses he'll go get some coffee before they go home. Brady kisses her and heads to the back. Nicole then enters the Basic Black office and says she's glad Kristen is there because they need to talk.

Hope questions Marlena being held hostage and can't believe she brought Stefano back here. Kayla insists it wasn't her, it was Gina. Kayla talks about Stefano always being obsessed with Marlena while Gina had similar interest in John. Hope realizes they tried to tear John and Marlena apart and asks if it worked.

Marlena tells Stefano that her headache is gone and she feels much better now. Stefano asks if she would feel up to hosting a party where he can show her off. Stefano says Chad is making all the arrangements so he will have his children around him and his queen by his side. Marlena asks if John will be there. Stefano tells Marlena that she needs to forget about John because she will never ever see him again. Stefano urges her to forget about her old life, embrace her new one, and give in to her feelings for him.

Gabi tells Chad that before she went to prison, this was her and Arianna's home. Chad tells her she doesn't belong here. Gabi asks if he even cares that she saved a child's life. Chad tells her if she expected a hero's welcome, she's dead wrong.

Sarah watches over Mackenzie at the hospital and talks about being so happy the transplant worked. She talks about being engaged after making some mistakes in the past. Xander walks in as Sarah says that she knows Xander loves them as he's been there every day. Sarah comments that if it wasn't for Xander, she wouldn't have her baby right now. Xander says he didn't want to interrupt. Sarah questions why he looks so upset.

Nicole tells Kristen that Eric told her she tried to hold baby Mickie and she has some nerve after all she's done to Eric. Nicole questions why she cares about the baby. Kristen says she will always feel connected to her because her daughter was born on the same night so she's invested in Mickie's recovery. Nicole brings up that Kristen kept her from her child and asks why anyone would let her near their child. Kristen says Eric apparently agreed but she just wanted to hold her as she was missing Rachel so much. Nicole argues that Kristen only conceived a child with Brady because she was pretending to be her. Nicole asks if Kristen ever asked God if her baby was taken from her because of all the horrible things she's done because she doesn't deserve a baby. Kristen attacks Nicole and they fight until Brady comes in to break it up. Nicole shouts that Kristen attacked her. Kristen argues that Nicole said horrible things about her and their daughter.

Xander tells Sarah that he saw Eric leave with Maggie so he decided to spend some time with his two favorite ladies. Sarah questions him looking upset and asks if he's still thinking about what Nicole said. Sarah wants him to forget about all that because there's no way he's going to lose her or Mickie as she hugs him.

Hope questions helping Stefano and throwing herself at John then trying to kill him. Kayla points out that John is safe but Hope notes that Marlena is still in danger because of her.

Marlena tells Stefano that she's sorry but this doesn't feel right and she has to go back to John. Marlena then passes out in to Stefano's arms.

Gabi tells Chad that she's not going down without a fight. Chad says in that case he's glad she's here so he can kill two birds with one stone. Chad says he has already given Kate notice that she no longer fits the plans at DiMera anymore. Gabi asks what Kate has to do with anything. Kate then starts to wake up. Gabi questions the noise. Chad says Kate didn't take the news very well. Gabi rushes to check on Kate so Chad then takes the statue and hits Gabi in the back of the head to knock her out.

Sarah tells Xander that it doesn't matter what Nicole or anyone else says because she knows him and she trusts him. Sarah says she wants him raising her little girl and kisses him. Xander tells her how happy it makes him to hear her say that. Sarah has to step out and asks him to stay with Mickie, joking that they can plan their wedding. Sarah exits and Xander tells Mickie that he loves them more than anything as they are a family now and he won't let Nicole tear them apart.

Brady questions what Nicole said to Kristen and then decides he doesn't care as he exits with Kristen. Nicole declares she's sorry but she needs to know if she's right about Kristen being Mickie's mother and now that she got a piece of Kristen's hair in the fight, she can prove it.

Hope tells Kayla that Marlena will never give in to Stefano because she hates him. Kayla is afraid they did the same procedure on Marlena so she fears Stefano had Dr. Rolf turn Marlena in to his queen.

Marlena wakes up and acknowledges Stefano as her king as he helps her up.

Chad says he hopes Stefano is pleased with Kate and Gabi out of the way so now he can start helping Stefano plan his party. Abigail then comes home and surprises Chad.
