Ciara visits Ben at prison. Ben thought she was spending more time with her mom. Ciara says she is heading to the hospital but she had to see him first because she has news. Ben hopes his conviction is being overturned so he can finally get out. Ciara wishes it was that but the news she has is not good.

Lani and Eli talk at home about the search for David. Eli assures they will find him but they can't if they are exhausted. Lani hopes that Rafe is having better luck than they are.

Orpheus brings breakfast and another toy train for David to his hideout. Evan/Christian talks about how David wouldn't stop asking for Rafe.

Shawn goes to see Rafe and questions him just getting home. Rafe says he was putting flyers up all night but has nothing to show for it and no new leads. Shawn encourages that they won't stop until they find his son. Shawn says he just stopped by to see how he's doing and wanted to update him on another case. Shawn informs Rafe that Hope is going into surgery this morning.

Jennifer goes to the hospital where Kayla is finishing Hope's paperwork. Kayla informs her that the surgery is happening today so she's hoping that once they remove the microchip, Hope will no longer believe that she is Princess Gina. Jennifer says that's what they all want. Jennifer talks about Doug wanting to be there but it's too painful as he's suffered enough abuse from Gina.

Princess Gina is in her hospital room, thinking back to Ciara and Shawn telling her about finding Dr. Rolf. She complains about being subjected to this as Dr. Rolf enters and asks if she's alright. She responds that she's not and commands him to free her from the chains.

Rafe tells Shawn that he wishes he could go to the hospital to support Hope. Shawn assures that everyone understands he's focused on finding David. Rafe wishes he had something to go on. Shawn returns the toy train to Rafe and says the only prints found on it were his and David's.

Orpheus suggests Evan/Christian tell David who his real father is.

Ciara informs Ben that the judge threw out Evan's confession because she had a gun to his head. Ben can't believe he just gets to walk. Ciara says the charges against him still stand. Ben asks if he's stuck in here if he beats the charges.

Kayla tells Jennifer about Ciara and Shawn trying to get through to Hope. Jennifer says they really need to support her and asks how long it will take to remove the microchip. Kayla reminds her that Dr. Rolf is doing the procedure. Jennifer questions how they can even trust him.

Dr. Rolf informs Princess Gina that there are police standing guard outside the door so she must accept her fate. She questions why he's here then. Rolf says he came to examine her as preparation to remove her microchip. She says she forbids it but Dr. Rolf says there was no other way because they wanted him to turn on Stefano and he could never betray him for anyone so he has agreed to end Gina's reign.

Christian tells Orpheus that it kills him not to tell his son that he's his father and talks about doing everything for him for the past year, but he couldn't risk David telling anyone that he said he was his father. Orpheus points out that Rafe is no longer in the picture so he asks what's stopping him.

Ciara tells Ben that Justin is still confident that the judge will still overturn his conviction since they have new evidence. Ciara argues that they have to exonerate him. Ben says it's still hard knowing that psycho murderer is still out there while he's locked up and can't help with the search. Ciara assures that Rafe won't give up and will find David.

Eli comes out of the shower and finds Lani crying over the missing child flyers for David. Eli encourages that they are going to bring David home as he hugs her.

Rafe tells Shawn that he can't believe Princess Gina had them fooled for so long and feels he should've figured it out. Shawn says Hope will be okay thanks to him, adding that they may have never put the pieces together if Rafe hadn't called him.

Kayla tells Jennifer that she has her concerns with Dr. Rolf but she trusts him to take out the microchip, otherwise he'll spend the rest of his life behind bars. Kayla adds that she will be watching him every step of the surgery. Jennifer can't believe this little chip has caused so much trouble for so many people.

Princess Gina yells at Dr. Rolf to back off and threatens him. Rolf concludes she is healthy enough to operate. She calls this a crime and says she knows he doesn't wish to destroy his own masterpiece. She talks about how he worked tirelessly to create her and asks him not to let them force him to destroy her. Gina asks Dr. Rolf to do the surgery but leave the chip where it is so she can remain and no one will be any wiser.

Orpheus tells Christian how hard it was for him to reach out to he and his sister, only to be rejected. Orpheus questions him not telling David that he is his father. Orpheus talks about being called Dad being the best feeling so he wants that for him too. Orpheus talks about Christian looking at him when he was little like he was a superhero. He remarks that he was wrong about that.

Lani talks to Eli about dealing with the worst of the worst as a police officer. Lani calls it heartbreaking when bad things happen to good people but this is different. Lani talks about helping Rafe take care of David when he was little until she had to create distance because of the loss of her own child. Lani cries that this feels really personal so she won't be able to rest until David is safe. Eli tells her they will go find him as he hugs her.

Shawn encourages Rafe to eat to keep his strength up. Shawn decides he's heading to the hospital. Rafe appreciates the support when he's going through a lot too. Rafe says he'll be praying for Hope and he hopes the procedure goes well. Shawn says the second she's back, he will be helping Rafe find his son as he then exits.

Ciara promises Ben that she will keep him posted on the search for David. Ben thanks her for coming. Ciara is sorry she had to come with bad news. Ben calls it a set back that they will get past. Ciara knows he must be going stir crazy and asks if she can do anything for him. Ben says right now she needs to be with her mom. Ciara just wants her to be okay. Ben says he'll be praying that the procedure is a success and that she gets her mother back. They say I love you to each other and then they kiss.

Princess Gina promises Dr. Rolf that she will pretend to be Hope Brady, pointing out that she fooled all of Salem for a year. Dr. Rolf tells her it's simply not possible because Kayla will be watching over him like a hawk in the operating room so she will expect him to hand over the microchip. Gina argues that a genius like him can surely fool them. Gina begs him until Kayla and Jennifer then enter the room.

Rafe goes to the police station and talks on the phone about the tip line for anyone with news on David.

Orpheus tells Christian that he's right that he was no superhero. He says they don't have to talk about this anymore. Orpheus knows he was not the ideal father and he now sees the terrible pain he caused his children. Orpheus regrets not being there for he and his sister but he's grateful they have finally reconnected after all these years. He thanks him for saying that and acknowledges he's no superhero himself. He wants to put it all behind him and focus on doing right by David. Orpheus says no matter how good or bad a man is, nothing can compare to a father's love for his son.

Clyde goes to see Ben at the prison visiting room and hugs him.

Ciara goes to the hospital and greets Shawn, who tells her that they are prepping their mom for surgery now.

Princess Gina complains about Jennifer and Kayla barging in to her room. Kayla tells her that she will be taken to the operating room and asks Dr. Rolf if he's gone over the procedure with his patient. Rolf responds that she fully understands what to expect and then exits the room. Jennifer says they are here to make sure Hope is done with this nightmare. Kayla tells Gina that this is goodbye. Gina responds that it doesn't matter what she does to her because she will always be Princess Gina just like Steve will always be Stefano DiMera. Kayla says they will see what happens when she wakes up.

Clyde tells Ben that he thought he'd never see him again and he can't believe Ciara barged in with the guy who really killed Jordan. Ben says he flatlined but Ciara saved his life. Clyde calls it the stuff of legend and exclaims that Ciara is a badass. Clyde says he'll be forever grateful and asks when Ben gets out. Ben responds that he's not so sure that's going to happen anytime soon.

Christian says he's wanted to tell David that he's his father since the moment he took him from Rafe's house. Orpheus encourages him to tell him. He says he was about to but then David woke up asking for Rafe. Orpheus declares that Christian is that boy's father and nothing will ever come between them again. Orpheus orders him to tell David who he is when he wakes up. Christian says he will but asks what their next move is.

Eli and Lani go to the police station where Rafe tells them he's going to read the transcripts of every call from the tip line. Rafe thanks them for helping him look for David but tells them they can go get some sleep. They instead sit with him and Lani says they will not rest until they bring David home.

Kayla has Princess Gina wheeled out while under a sedative so she won't physically resist. She tells Ciara and Shawn that the surgery shouldn't take long so she'll let them know when they can see her. Kayla adds that she'll be there every step of the surgery. Gina wakes up and asks for a word with her children. Shawn tells her they are there. She says they are but their mother is never coming back. Kayla then takes her to the operating room.

Rafe gets an e-mail from Shawn, saying he's going to have forensics go back to search Evan's room to make sure they didn't miss anything. Lani reads over the tips but doesn't find anything. Eli says he talked to a contact at the FBI to track down Christian Maddox's known associates.

Ciara and Shawn wait on Hope's surgery. Ciara says she's been so focused on Ben that she hasn't spent any time with her mom. Shawn talks about their mom not being herself and they agree that Princess Gina is a bitch.

Ben explains to Clyde that the judge ruled that Christian's confession was coerced and he won't tell anyone where David is. Clyde says he would make him talk if he wasn't locked up. Ben wishes he could have five minutes alone with Christian for letting him take the fall for Jordan's murder and then took her son.

Orpheus tells Christian that he thinks they should hit the road and keep moving. Christian questions becoming a fugitive. Orpheus says it's better than the alternative. Christian doesn't want that life for his son. Orpheus says it's not forever but they don't have a choice. Christian thinks his best option is to stay here and lie low since all the evidence is circumstantial so he thinks he can beat the charges and leave Salem to live a happy normal life with his son.

Ciara goes to see Hope after surgery as she's sleeping in her hospital room. Ciara pleads for her to come back to them.

Kayla tells Shawn and Jennifer that Hope is stable and resting so she should be awake soon. Jennifer decides she will go tell Doug that the surgery is over. Kayla tells her she'll let her know if anything changes. Jennifer says they will talk soon and hugs Shawn as she then exits. Kayla shows Shawn the microchip. Shawn says he'll take it to the station to have the lab test it. Kayla adds that she didn't notice anything suspicious. Dr. Rolf comes over and says what Kayla saw was a master at work. Shawn warns him about if Hope is not herself when she wakes up. Rolf assures that the procedure was a success. Shawn declares that until they know for sure, he's coming to the station with him so he can keep an eye on him. Kayla prays for Hope to be alright.

Clyde can't believe that Jordan's killer was hiding under Rafe's roof the whole time. Ben explains that Christian changed his name to Evan to hide his old identity and past. Clyde recognizes the name Christian Maddox which Ben questions.

Christian talks about needing to wake up David so he'll go to sleep tonight, commenting that he knows his son better than anyone.

Rafe, Eli, and Lani go over the tips until Lani finds something from someone saying they saw a man matching Evan's description so she thinks she might know where David is.
