Brady and Kristen eat together in the town square. Kristen asks if he's still mad at her for lying to him about Stefano. Brady brings up that he asked her if it was even possible that Stefano was running around as Steve Johnson and she said that was crazy. Kristen says she hated doing it but still feels loyal to Stefano so she felt a need to protect him. Brady says they have been blessed with another chance to get this right so he doesn't want anything to mess it up again. Brady suggests trying no more lies. Brady mentions hoping for an update on Mackenzie's procedure. Kristen is grateful they found a match and that she will survive.

At the hospital, Sarah and Eric talk to Xander and Nicole about Mackenzie's condition. Nicole asks what happens next. Sarah explains the procedure with Gabi and the transplant to Mickie then they wait and pray the bone marrow will start producing blood cells. Sarah mentions that Gabi was supposed to be there 20 minutes ago to get prepared and questions what if she bails on the deal and just takes off.

Sonny asks if it's true that Christian killed Jordan. Christian tells him not to listen to Ciara. Ciara insists it's true as some of the DNA the police found belonged to him so the evidence is indisputable. Will confirms, calling Christian a murderer. Christian argues that Jordan tried to take his son away from him and they all knew she was crazy so he just wanted to protect David. Will tells him it's over as Rafe, the police, and they all know everything. Christian warns that they know what he's capable of then as he raises his gun.

Ben tries to argue that they can't proceed with the execution, pleading to give Ciara a chance to prove it. The Warden gets a call from the Governor. Marlena tells Ben that Abe got through to the Governor so she's sure it's going to be alright. The Warden hangs up and announces that the Governor spoke to Abe, who made a very impassionate plea on behalf of Ben but without proof of new evidence, the Governor has decided not to stop the execution so they are moving forward as planned. He then orders the doctor to administer the first injection as Marlena says she's so sorry.

Brady and Kristen run in to Dr. Raynor in the town square. Kristen thanks her for the card she sent when they lost their baby. Dr. Raynor thinks back to being the doctor that Xander paid off to switch the babies and warning her that no one could ever know.

Sarah starts to worry about Gabi but Gabi arrives and says she got stuck in traffic then couldn't find a parking spot but she's here now to save their little girl's life.

Christian argues that he made mistakes and things got out of control but he's trying to make things right and start a new life for his son. Christian complains that he needs money to do that. Sonny says he'll get whatever he needs but he needs to put the gun down first. Ciara argues against giving him money because Ben will then be a dead man.

Ben is weakened by the first injection and starts to imagine Ciara telling him that she won't let him die on her.

Nicole argues that Gabi didn't seem concerned about the baby's life while using her as a bargaining chip to get out of jail, remarking that she doesn't have a heart. Gabi argues that her heart was ripped out when Stefan's was given to Julie. Gabi says she's had a very busy day so she wants to get this going.

Dr. Raynor tells Brady and Kristen that she is sorry for their loss. Brady tells her that they don't blame her for what happened to their baby, crediting her for the moments they did have with their baby. Dr. Raynor thinks back again to Xander paying her off and telling her that he a flight set to the Dominican Republic for her. Xander had warned that if she didn't accept the deal, she would regret it. Back in the present, Dr. Raynor tells Brady and Kristen that she's late for work and rushes off.

Ben continues to imagine Ciara. Marlena tells the Warden that he has to stop this before it's too late. He responds that it's the governor's orders. Marlena argues the new evidence is being proven. The Warden remarks that he needs more than that. Marlena says if the evidence doesn't clear Ben, they can do this tomorrow. The Warden argues that Ben had already killed and his appeals have been denied so he won't fall for an attempt to stop justice from being served. He tells Marlena to observe respectfully or he wil ask her to leave. Ben flashes back to when he first found Ciara after her motorcycle crash.

Ciara argues that Christian killed his son's mother and an innocent man could die for it, questioning how he can be okay with that. Ciara tells him to admit what he did. Sonny warns Ciara not to get herself killed. Ciara says they don't know if Marlena was able to stop the execution so they are running out of time. Chrisitan shouts that he just wants his money so he can get out of here. Will says that Ben is about to be executed for a crime he did not commit. Will tells Christian that if he wants to be a good father to his son then he should do the right thing, own what he did, and save a man's life. Christian yells at him to shut the hell up before he blows him away.

Sarah takes Gabi to the room to get prepped. Eric steps away to make a phone call. Xander comments on being glad he doesn't have to deal with Gabi but at least she eventually agreed to help even if extortion was involved. Nicole remarks that Xander knows about extortion which Xander calls uncalled for. Nicole brings up that Gabi is the last person she would've guessed to be Mackenzie's bone marrow donor and from the way he and Victor were acting, she thought for sure it would've been Theresa or Tate.

Kristen tells Brady that Dr. Raynor seemed rattled. Brady guesses she's just busy. Kristen felt she wasn't happy to see them. Kristen says every time she feels like she's starting to heal, something happens, and she feels like they are losing Rachel all over again as Brady hugs her.

Sarah asks Gabi if she has any questions about possible side effects. Gabi asks why she didn't warn her before she agreed to this. Sarah points out that it got her out of prison. Gabi asks what if there is complications. Sarah assures the risk is very low. Gabi complains about the hospital. Sarah brings up what Gabi did to Julie's pacemaker. Gabi warns her to be nicer to her. Sarah asks if she'd walk out of the hospital and let a child die. Sarah tells her she doesn't have a choice unless she wants to go back to prison. Eric then enters the room which stops their arguing.

Marlena tells Ben that Will and Ciara went to get the evidence to clear him and they will be back, encouraging that he has so much to live for. Ben flashes back to spending time with Ciara and says he loves her.

Sonny tells Christian that this is not the way as shooting anyone won't solve his problem. Christian asks why Will couldn't have just stayed in prison as he and Sonny were happy and he was going to figure out a way to be with his son and give him the life he deserves. Christian shouts that everything was fine until Will ruined it. Will argues that he murdered his kid's mother and playing nanny to his own son so everything wasn't fine. Will asks where David is. Christian says he's safe. Ciara says he needs to tell them. Christian says all they need to know is that his son is safe and he would never do anything to hurt him. Sonny tells Christian to end this as it's over. Christian disagrees and refuses to put the gun down, saying it wasn't supposed to be like this as he thought he had time to make a plan. Christian tells Sonny that they could've built a life with his little boy but now everything is ruined because of Will. Will then tackles Christian and the gun goes off..

Kristen tells Brady that every time she thinks of their baby, she thinks of the moment they had her and then lost her and how no one but them knows how that feels. Brady hugs her and kisses her. Kristen wishes they would hear from Eric because she needs some good news. Brady loves how concerned she is about his niece. Kristen says she's part of his family and fighting so hard. Kristen mentions she was born the same night as Rachel so she can't help but be drawn to her. Brady says he was thinking about going to the hospital as moral support for Eric. Kristen offers to go with him so she can pray for Mickie in the chapel so they walk off together.

Gabi tells Eric that Sarah thinks she's a heartless bitch but it doesn't matter because she's a mom too and got tested because she wants to help Mackenzie. Sarah apologizes and tells her how grateful she is. Eric asks Gabi to understand that they are on edge and stressed after being up all night with Mackenzie. Gabi brings up Maggie being outed as a hit and run killer which Sarah questions .Eric says they are not having this conversation. Gabi complains that her daughter's father has been locked up for months for Maggie's crime. Eric suggests looking at this as a fresh start. Dr. Raynor then enters the room for the procedure.

Ben snaps out of his imagination and asks where Ciara is. Marlena assures him that she'll be right back and he will be alright. Ben then flashes back to being with Ciara in the past. Marlena calls Abe back and informs him that the governor refused the stay of execution while Ciara and Will have gone to try to confront the real killer. Marlena knows he's dangerous so she's worried that she sent them in to terrible trouble.

Sonny rushes to check on Will while Ciara gets a hold of the gun and warns Christian that if takes another step, it will be his last.

Gabi says she is ready to get started. Sarah and Eric tell Dr. Raynor that they are glad to have her working with Mickie. Sarah thanks Gabi as she and Eric exit the room. Dr. Raynor tells Gabi this will be over before she knows it as she prepares the needle.

Xander asks why Nicole would think that Theresa and Tate would be a bone marrow match for Mickie. Nicole brings up how much Xander insisted on getting them tested and then Victor went behind Brady's back to make sure it happened, questioning what was up with that. Xander argues that they are cousins and he just wanted someone to save Mickie's life.

Will reveals that he wasn't shot as Sonny checks on him and worries that he hit his head, noting that the bullet went through the wall. Ciara holds the gun on Christian while Sonny says Will needs to get to the emergency room. Sonny brings up that Rafe is still looking for Davd so Ciara needs to call the police. Ciara argues that by the time they get here and get a confession, it will be too late. Ciara demands Christian come with her to the prison because there is no time. Sonny offers to drive but Ciara says he needs to stay with Will so Christian will drive her or else he will live to regret it. Ciara then walks Christian out with the gun.

The doctor explains the second injection to Ben as he flashes back to Ciara taking care of him in the hospital. The doctor adds that this injection will make it impossible to breathe while the third injection will make his heart stop almost instantly.

Nicole talks about Xander pretending to be Mickie's biological father for months and how it upsets Eric after all the lies he told. Xander says that's the lies they told as Nicole kept it alive. Nicole says she was wrong. Xander argues there's more to being a dad than blood so as far as he's concerned he's very much her father as Eric and Sarah come out and hear him.

Brady and Kristen go to Gabi's room looking for Eric. Gabi says Eric and Sarah won't be back since they got what they wanted. Gabi complains that she's in so much pain. Brady says they're sorry to disturb her. Kristen stops and says there's something she's been wanting to say to Gabi.

Xander tries to explain but Eric says he understands, they all love Mackenzie and want what's best for her. Xander asks where she is. Sarah says the procedure is going smoothly so they hope she will sleep through it. Nicole decides to go get some food from the cafeteria. Sarah and Eric go to sign hospital forms. Xander waits outside of Mickie's room, praying to God to ler her live. Xander then spots Dr. Raynor and questions what the hell she's doing here.

Sonny wants to take Will to the ER but Will says he's fine and that it's more important they talk to the police as they should be there any minute. Sonny talks about being afraid of losing him again when he thought he got shot. Will tells him that won't happen. Sonny blames himself for getting involved with "Evan" as he seemed like a good guy. Will points out that Rafe hired him and everyone thought he was a great guy so it's not his fault.

Ben complains that he can't move. Marlena encourages him to kepe breathing. Ben then flashes back to various times being with Ciara.

Gabi questions Kristen having the nerve to slam her when she's trying to save a baby's life. Kristen argues that she's milking it for all it's worth. Gabi asks if Brady is going to let her talk to her like this. Brady says she isn't saying anything untrue. Kristen feels Gabi deserves to suffer a little since she only made the deal to save her own ass. Gabi says that's exactly how Kristen got out of jail the last time. Kristen says in the past she would've loved to wrung her neck but she's not that person anymore. Gabi mocks her finding God and questions Brady believing this. Brady says he's seen it. Kristen responds that with God's help, anything is possible even for a miserable worm like her. Gabi questions where God was when she was sent to prison for a crime she didn't commit or when Kristen's baby died.

Sarah sits in the waiting room and starts to cry. Eric asks her what's wrong. Sarah says she's just relieved as Eric tells her that their daughter is going to be fine and hugs her.

Xander argues that Dr. Raynor is supposed to be in the Dominican Republic forever. She argues that she has patients who need her and she's part of the team working to save Mackenzie's life. She mentions them both knowing that she isn't his or Sarah and Eric's. Xander reminds her that she was paid a great deal of money to keep that information to herself. She says she took that money against her better judgment but she intended on abiding by the terms of the deal but now she ran in to Brady and Kristen, who thanked her for giving them a few moments with their daughter and called her a hero when she's the reason they believe their child is dead. Xander calls it a little late to grow a conscience. Dr. Raynor doesn't think she can liv with this secret. Nicole comes back and asks if she's interrupting something.

Sonny thinks they should've heard something by now. Will hopes that Ciara gets there in time to save Ben.

Marlena watches Ben as security alarms start to go off. Ciara then bursts in with the gun held on Christian and cops following her with their guns raised while Ciara yells for them to stop the execution.
