Justin tells Stefano that he got the ten million dollars and did not alert the police so now it's time for him to hold up his end of the bargain. Stefano responds that he will as soon as Justin meets all of his terms. Justin argues that they had a deal. Stefano tells him the deal is that he will do whatever he says if he ever wants to see Kayla again.

Stefano has left Kayla tied to a chair in the area they were hiding. Dr. Rolf then enters and greets Kayla.

John goes with Marlena to her office. They talk about Maggie causing the accident and having no memory of it until now. Marlena goes over Will thinking he was responsible for Adrienne's death. Marlena is glad that the truth is out and that Will is free. John can't imagine the weight of the pain of knowing Maggie killed Sonny's mother. Marlena hopes now Will and Sonny can find their way back together.

Sarah knows Xander loves her, Maggie, and Mickie but asks him to promise no more lies because they always come out and make things worse. Xander agrees and promises no more lies. Sarah asks what happens now and if he and Victor are going to get in legal trouble because of this cover up. Xander says that Victor is just worried about Maggie going to prison which he doesn't think he could take. Sarah can't believe they are having this conversation or that Maggie killed Adrienne. Maggie arrives and asks if Sarah can forgive her.

Will enters the Kiriakis Mansion as a free man. Sonny tells him that he's dreamed of this moment and asks if he's dreaming now. Will assures that he's free and he's home.

Evan asks what Rafe is talking about. Rafe doesn't know why he changed his name but he knows his real name is Christian Maddox. Rafe guesses he didn't give his real name because he has a criminal record. Rafe brings up asking about the letters from child welfare but now he knows he lied to him about it. Rafe warns that he may have cost him his son but this ends now.

Ciara reveals to Ben that David's father's name is Christian Maddox. Ben never thought Ciara would find him so quickly. Ciara says they haven't located him yet but they have the name. Ciara explains that the DNA match wasn't David's but from David's father and they know there was DNA from his skin cells on Jordan's body. Ciara confirms that she spoke to the FBI so this isn't speculation, this is rock solid. Ciara tells Ben that David's father murdered his sister and she's going to prove it. Ben calls her amazing. Ciara says she told him she wouldn't let this execution happen and now she knows exactly how she's going to stop it.

Justin tells Stefano he's not agreeing to anything until he knows what he's asking for. Stefano says he wants more than funds. Justin argues that it's what he asked for in exchange for Kayla's return. Stefano says now that everyone knows he's in Steve Johnson's body, it's impossible for him to access his own fortune so he had to turn to him until he can get his hands on everything he has coming to him. Stefano adds that money is not the most important thing in life as it cannot buy happiness. Justin tells him to take the money and end this. Stefano admits he could but asks what good is living like a king if he doesn't have his queen.

Marlena tells John that she can't have lunch today. John understands if she has patients. Marlena informs him that she's been approved to attend Ben's execution which happens in a couple of hours. John doesn't think that's such a great idea. Marlena understands why he would feel that way but during her time working with him, she came to really care about Ben. John asks if she's sure she's ready to watch Ben die.

Ciara tells Ben that she's going to stop the execution, track down Christian Maddox, and make him admit to killing Jordan. Ben loves her confidence but notes that's a very tall order and they only have a couple hours so he doesn't think it's going to happen. Ciara reminds him that he didn't think she'd find out who David's father is. Ciara encourages him to have faith because she's not giving up. Ciara promises to find Christian and clear Ben's name before it's too late.

Rafe orders Christian Maddox to admit he lied to him so he does. He apologizes and says he wanted to be honest but he couldn't because he was too afraid as he was in a tough situation. Rafe questions him hiding his real identity. Christian says he had a really good reason and begs Rafe to hear him out.

Will tells Sonny that after Maggie confessed, her lawyers insisted on getting his conviction overturned and it all happened so fast. Will says he has so much to say to him. Will asks about Arianna. Sonny says she's at school but she will be so happy that he's home for good. Will can't wait to see her. Will asks about Maggie since he knows she's out on bail. Sonny informs him that she's at the hospital with Victor and she's supporting Sarah during Mackenzie's bone marrow transplant. Sonny reveals that the match was Gabi. Sonny notes that Maggie being responsible for Adrienne's death has taken a toll on Victor's health so he's getting some tests done. Will hopes that Victor is okay. Sonny says after everything Victor has done to him, Will is still wishing him well and promised not to tell on Maggie so she didn't have to face what she did. Sonny calls it so selfless and brave. Will says they know he's no angel. Sonny says he's been through Hell and spent so much time in prison for something he didn't do. Sonny asks if Will is ever going to be able to forgive him for not standing by him.

Clyde enters the prison visiting room. Ben thought he was in solitary for helping him escape. Clyde says he was but they gave him permission to be here. Ben asks if he's going to watch them execute him. Clyde says they wouldn't allow that but they said he could keep him company, if he'll let him.

Rafe tells Christian that he's listening. Christian tells Rafe that there are some things he doesn't know about him. He says he made mistakes when he was younger and his record followed him everywhere so he couldn't get a loan to finish school or get hired at a job so the only way for a fresh start was to change his name. Rafe argues that he deceived him and he deserves to know the truth of who is looking after his kid. Christian argues that he loves David and takes great care of him. Rafe asks why he had to pick a job that involves kids. Christian respond that he sucks at everything else but for some reason, he's good with kids. Rafe decides it doesn't matter because he jeopardized his situation with David. Rafe orders Christian to get out. Christian admits it was wrong of him to misrepresent himself so he will pack his stuff and go.

Dr. Rolf tells Kayla that Stefano put him in charge of making sure she cooperates since as long as she does as she's told, everything will be just fine. Kayla argues that the man he's taking orders from is not Stefano, it's Steve. Rolf assures it's Stefano but Kayla doesn't believe it. Rolf argues that she just wants Stefano gone and for Steve to return. Kayla asks if that's possible. Rolf asks why she would even care if she's in love with Justin now. Kayla says that doesn't mean she doesn't care about Steve since he is the father of her children. Kayla says she just needs closure to let it go. Kayla adds that Dr. Rolf is the genius that did this to him so he's the only person who can really explain it to her which is all she is asking for.

Justin questions Stefano still being fixated on Marlena. Stefano calls her the love of his life. Justin tells him that Marlena despises him and it will never happen. Stefano orders Justin to convince Marlena that it's the right thing to do then he will give him what he wants. Stefano tells him to take the deal or leave it. Justin needs to know for a fact that Kayla is alive and unharmed. Stefano reminds him of the picture he showed him. Justin wants proof that she's alive today. Justin demands Stefano take him to Kayla now if he wants him to even consider the deal.

Will tells Sonny that there's nothing to forgive as he didn't do anything wrong. Sonny feels he should've tried to harder to find out the truth. Will points out that he didn't even know the truth. Sonny says he should've visited him in prison more then. Will reminds him that he told him to stop coming. Sonny says he shouldn't have agreed to the divorce. Will says he gave him no choice as he insisted on ending things. Sonny understands he was trying to protect him. Will thought they would never get past what he did as it would always be in between them. Sonny states that he now knows Will did not kill his mother and he is the man he will always love as they kiss.

Stefano refuses to take Justin to Kayla so Justin says no deal with Marlena then. Stefano offers to let him speak to Kayla which he accepts. Stefano calls Dr. Rolf and orders him to put Kayla on the phone, warning that he knows what to do if she says anything out of turn. Rolf gives Kayla the phone. Justin tells her it's him.

Clyde asks Ben if it's okay if he stays. Ben responds that he's glad Clyde is his company. Ben guesses this is the end of the road. Clyde says it didn't have to be since Ben was out and free and could've disappeared but he turned himself in. Ben says he couldn't leave Ciara to go to prison. Clyde argues that Victor would've gotten her out. Ben argues that Ciara was harboring a fugitive and assaulted the police commissioner so she would be punished if he didn't come back. Clyde wishes he didn't let Ciara in on their plan to escape. Ben points out that Ciara hasn't given up and swears she will get him out. Clyde reminds him that he had him out. Clyde doesn't want to waste time on regrets. Ben says he's trying not to lose hope for Ciara. The guard then delivers Ben's last meal.

Ciara goes to Rafe and tells him that she has huge news. Rafe tells her he's on hold with child welfare but Ciara says it's urgent so he hangs up. Ciara informs Rafe that she got a call from his contact at the FBI and they got a hit on the DNA from the criminal database so it wasn't David's. Ciara confirms her theory was right that David's father was there that night which means he has to be the real killer. Ciara needs Rafe's help to find him and track him down before they execute Ben. Rafe calls it incredible and asks what else Ciara knows about him. Ciara reveals that his name is Christian Maddox, causing Rafe to question what she just said. Ciara says they have to find him. Rafe responds that he already knows where he is which Ciara questions. Rafe then reveals that it's Evan, David's nanny, as his real name is Christian Maddox. Ciara asks where he is. Rafe says he's in there with David right now so he rushes to go check on him.

Ben and Clyde eat Ben's last meal together. Clyde guesses he wishes Ciara was with him. Ben says she's not. Clyde reminds him that she's out looking for the person who really killed Jordan. Ben tells him that she's got a serious lead that might pan out. Clyde says she better hustle because the clock is ticking. Ben is just glad she has something else to focus on so she isn't in here. Ben doesn't want anyone he loves to watch what they are going to do to him as he has to figure out how to handle it himself. Clyde responds that maybe he won't have to if Ciara comes through as things have a way of working out. Clyde mentions hearing that Will got out so it could happen for Ben too.

Will tells Sonny that it feels good to be in his arms again. Sonny calls the prison visits torture. Will says all he could do was hold on to the memories. Sonny encourages that they have a beautiful future with their daughter. Sonny is glad he didn't file the divorce papers because now they can rip those up and start over. Will stops and says he has to ask about Evan since they've been seeing each other. Sonny says Evan was there for him during very dark times and is really great with Arianna so they have gotten close. Will asks if that means he still wants to be with Evan. Sonny informs him that he was always honest with Evan so he knew that Will was the love of his life and they only weren't together because he thought he killed his mom. Sonny mentions telling Evan that Will is innocent. Will asks if he broke it off with him then. Sonny says not yet. They tell each other that they know how they feel about one another as Sonny calls Will the only man for him.

Rafe calls the police to inform them that Christian has kidnapped David.

Justin asks Kayla if she's hurt. Kayla assures that she's fine. Justin tells her not to worry as he's going to pay the ransom and get her home as soon as can be. Stefano tells him that's enough and to wrap it up.

Rafe calls an APB out on Christian Maddox and says he will text his license and pictures of him. Ciara questions Evan being Christian Maddox. Rafe informs her that he confronted him about it and he said the only way he could get a job is if he changed his name so he fired him. Rafe thought he took it well but then he took David. Rafe hopes he won't hurt David since he is his father. Ciara agrees but points out that he did kill Jordan so they have to find him before they execute Ben.

Ben tells Clyde that Ciara was just as angry at him for turning himself in as he is. Clyde asks why they didn't arrest her too. Ben explains that they did and she was about to be charged but he said he forced her to help him. Clyde comments that if he had a do-over, he'd do it all different as he was a terrible father to him and worse stepfather to Jordan. Ben tells him it's okay as he knows he did the best he could and that he tried to make up for the bad stuff including trying to bust him out of here for a new life. Clyde hopes he knows that he would trade places with him if he could. Clyde states that in his own twisted way, he loves him. Ben responds that he knows he does. The guard comes in and declares time is up so Clyde exits.

Sonny tells Will that he has to find a way to let Evan down easy but right now, he just wants to concentrate on Will. Will wants to pull Arianna out of school to get ice cream and celebrate. Sonny jokes about the teacher getting mad for causing a disruption. Will guesses he can wait a few hours. Sonny suggests they go upstairs in those few hours. Will says nothing would make him happier but he has to go back to the prison because Ben's execution is today. Will adds that it feels crazy to say but they became friends so he's not going to let Ben face this alone. Sonny says he understands and he will see him soon. Will then goes to leave but Evan/Christian arrives.

Justin tells Kayla that he has to go but he will see her soon. Dr. Rolf takes the phone and hangs up. Justin asks Stefano who made her hang up. Stefano says no more questions and demands Marlena.

Marlena arrives at the prison to see Ben. Ben can't believe she's there. She informs him that she's going to stay the whole time. Ben says that's very kind but tells her not to worry about him as he's come to make peace with what comes next. Ben says when they first started working together, he was in a bad place and thought his life was over but she believed that he could become a better person. Ben talks about living with guilt every day, knowing he killed innocent people and that pain will never go away. Ben declares that if he's executed, maybe it's what he deserves.

Sonny introduces Will to "Evan". Will decides he will let them talk and exits the mansion. He guesses Will is free from prison which Sonny confirms. He then guesses they are getting back together.

Kayla wants Dr. Rolf to explain to her in medical terms how he made Steve think that he's Stefano. Rolf says Steve doesn't think he's Stefano, he is Stefano. He explains that he distilled Stefano's essence, personality, memories, and his entire brain function then transfer it to a microchip which he then implanted in to Steve's brain. Kayla asks if it is reversible and if he can bring Steve back. Dr. Rolf talks about his work being revolutionary and what this could mean for the future. Kayla asks to see his notes so she can really see his ability. Kayla claims she'd be honored to see it. Dr. Rolf says he shouldn't but supposes one peek won't hut so he shows it to her. Kayla then gets her hands free from the rope tying her to the chair. Kayla tells him that she's thirsty and asks for water. Dr. Rolf agrees and exits the room. Kayla then gets up and goes to escape but Stefano returns and stops her.

Rafe tells Ciara that he has to get to the police station as they need all hands on deck to find "Evan." Ciara tells him to let her know if anything happens. Rafe exits while Ciara calls the prison, saying she has evidence to exonerate Ben Weston so she needs to speak to the warden right away as the execution cannot happen because she found the real killer.

Evan/Christian asks Sonny if he's right about him and Will getting back together. Sonny tells him it just happened. Sonny adds that he had always been honest about where they stand and that he never stopped loving Will. Sonny says they weren't together because he thought he killed his mom but that wasn't true so they are getting back together. Sonny doesn't want to hurt him, saying he's such a good guy. Sonny doesn't know what else to say other than he's sorry. Christian then pulls a gun on Sonny and says he's sorry too.

Justin goes to the hospital and runs in to John. Justin asks if he knows where Marlena is as he needs to speak to her right away. John notes that he looks upset. Justin says he is and it's urgent. John tells him that Marlena is at the prison for Ben's execution.

Marlena tells Ben not to say he deserves this since he's done everything he can to make up for his bad things and made a new life. Ben credits Ciara's love, Will's forgiveness, and Marlena's help. Ben thanks Marlena for never giving up on him even when he was ready to give up on himself. Marlena feels everybody deserves a second chance but not everybody takes it and Ben did. Ben asks Marlena to tell Ciara how much he loves her. Marlena thinks she knows. Ben just wants her to know that he told her in his last moments on earth. Ben declares his life is over now so he wants Ciara to move on without any regrets so she can rebuild her life like he did. The guard enters and announces it's time..
