From JJ's apartment, Lani calls JJ and tells him that she's sorry about his grandfather. Lani thanks him for letting her stay at his place. Lani adds that it's just her and the plants. Someone knocks at the door so Lani hangs up and answers the door to see Abe. Abe remarks that he'd like to donate the convent but Lani's not really a nun and she's just been lying to him for over a year.

Eli and Valerie eat together at Julie's Place but Eli isn't hungry and mentions getting drunk last night after the woman he was engaged to had been making a fool of him for over a year.

Gabi states that Eric knows what prison is like so she's never going back there again. Eric points out these are serious charges. Gabi declares that Eric and Sarah will make the charges disappear if they want her bone marrow to save their sick baby. Eric questions Gabi holding it over their head. Gabi responds that she has a chance to save Mickie's life her own.

Xander tells Victor that looking out for Maggie is the right thing to do while Sonny will get over Will like he has before. Victor knows there's no way he could stay married to the man who killed his mother. Maggie then walks in and says "Except Will didn't kill Adrienne, did he?" Maggie declares that no one told her but she finally remembered that she was on the road the night that Adrienne died. Victor tries to tell her that she's confused but Maggie insists and says that Xander is the one who found her. Maggie questions how they could lie to her about something so big.

Lani apologizes to Abe for not telling him the truth when she came back as she hated lying to him but Gabi gave her no choice since Julie's life was on the line. Abe understands why she left Eli and why she felt she had to leave Salem as he can forgive all of that. Lani questions why he's so upset with her then. Abe argues that she suffered in silence for over a year and didn't feel like she could come to him for help.

Eli tells Valerie that he was one of the top agents of the FBI and was police commissioner so he questions how he missed the signs. Valerie says he was in love. Eli asks how he could be so stupid to believe that Lani didn't love him. Valerie insists that he's just proud.

Sonny goes to Rafe's to see Evan and asks if he has a minute to talk. Evan asks what's wrong as he looks upset and if it's about Will. Sonny responds that it's about Gabi.

Eric argues that their little girl is going to die if Gabi doesn't step up and do the right thing. Gabi claims to be sympathetic to that as she is a mother too and she wants to help but she's not in a position to be unselfish. Sarah accuses Gabi of blackmailing them with their daughter's health. Gabi argues that she is fighting for her life too so she sees no reason they can't all get what they want.

Lani tells Abe that he has no idea how badly she wanted to come to him but she couldn't take that chance because Julie's life was hanging in the balance and only she knew the truth. Abe states that Gabi had everyone fooled. Lani is thankful that Gabi was finally exposed before she could marry Eli so people can finally see her for the murderous witch she is.

Eli doesn't see what pride has to do with Gabi making a fool out of him. Valerie tells him that he has such a big heart but he's not an expert on dealing with the women in his life. Eli guesses she's right. Eli knew that Gabi did terrible things before he fell in love with her but he put that aside and missed what was happening right under his nose which almost cost Julie her life. Eli asks how he could be so blind to not see that Gabi only cares about herself.

Gabi says everyone thinks she's the worst person in the world but they've forgotten that she saved Julie's lief, arguing that she's not a monster. Eric asks why she tampered with Julie's pacemaker then or try to blackmail Lani into dumping Eli or why she just tried to kill Julie, asking if those are actions of a good person.

Evan tells Sonny that he heard from Rafe that Gabi was arrested at her wedding for attempted murder which Sonny confirms is the charge. Evan notes that the article in the Spectator made it all sound pretty awful. Sonny tells him that it's unfortunately all true. Sonny calls Gabi a very complicated person and he hates what she did but now she's going to be plead guilty which means she goes to prison for 10 years. Sonny says that with Will locked up, he will be the only parent that Arianna has left.

Maggie wants Victor to be honest but he calls it an outrageous conspiracy theory. Maggie remembers Xander waking her up in the car and saying that she was drunk but she doesn't remember drinking. Maggie goes over Summer showing up with the news that she was dying. Victor argues that she never left the house. Maggie remembers that Xander was looking for Sarah and telling him that Adrienne took her to the hospital instead. Maggie says she woke up the next morning with no memory, thinking she never left the house but she did.

Eli says that Julie could give a long list of the things Gabi has done. Valerie thinks Eli is too proud to think anyone could fool him with bad intentions. Valerie feels Eli is blaming himself when none of this is his fault and he's wasting time getting drunk and feeling guilty when there are better things he could be doing like getting his life back together or fixing things with Lani. Eli doesn't think that's possible. Julie then enters and questions why the hell not.

Abe tells Lani that Gabi is in police custody and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law but the D.A. is offering her a deal of ten years with no chance of parole in exchange for a guilty plea. Lani notes that 10 years is a long time. Abe feels it could be a lot worse. Lani decides she doesn't want to talk about it anymore as she's just so happy that the truth is out, Eli is free, and Julie is safe. Abe points out that she's able to move on. Lani says she spent a year away trying to find peace and all she did was think about what Gabi did and plot her revenge so it's time for her to move on. Abe says now there is no reason why she and Eli can't be together but Lani doesn't know about that.

Sarah argues that Gabi has no problem saving a life as long as there is something in it for her. Gabi talks about giving in and giving Stefan's heart to Julie. Gabi regrets it and says she should've let Julie die. Eric holds Sarah back from attacking Gabi.

Evan tells Sonny that there's not much worse for Arianna than losing her mom. Sonny asks Evan about helping David deal with kind of the same thing. Evan points out that David's mom is never coming back and he's too young to understand that but he'll find out eventually. Sonny calls it important to be ready with answers. Evan shows Sonny a scrapbook he's been working on as Rafe asked him to put together pictures of Jordan for David, so he can have something to remember his mom by.

Xander tells Maggie that he's sorry but what she is describing didn't happen. Maggie questions him saying she's wrong. Xander says it must have been a dream because it's not reality. Maggie insists it really happened and it was her worst nightmare so she has to know the truth. Victor says the truth is that she passed out in the house that night. Maggie asks Victor to stay out of it. Maggie tells Xander that they have grown close despite her doubts and she watched him look after Sarah and her child. Maggie says she trusts Xander to tell her what really happened. Victor questions what the point is of all of this. Maggie says Xander found Sarah on the same road he found her on. Maggie insists she needs to know and asks if she's the one who caused her daughter's accident. Victor says of course not and that Will Horton is the sole person responsible for Adrienne's death. Maggie flashes back to that night again and remembers Xander calling Victor to come get her. Victor claims he has no idea what he's talking about. Maggie argues that they worked together to keep the truth from her. Victor calls this whole thing outrageous and he's getting tired of it. Victor says he just almost died from a stroke and she wanted him to be stress free. Maggie tells him to cut the act and come clean. Maggie knows he's trying to protect her but she's begging him to tell her the truth as to if she killed Adrienne. Xander decides if she wants to know, he will tell her everything.

Sonny praises Evan's scrapbook of Jordan. Evan wishes he could do more for David since pictures don't replace having a parent. Sonny acknowledges that Evan really loves David and says he's lucky to have him. Evan tells Sonny if he ever needs help with Arianna, he's there for him too.

Gabi tells Sarah that she's a mother too so she gets the pain of possibly losing her child so she asks why it's so hard for her to understand her pain. Sarah calls Gabi a heartless bitch. Gabi gets that she doesn't care about her but what about her daughter. Gabi says Arianna already has one parent in prison and asks what is going to happen to her if she loses another. Sarah questions Gabi being okay with other people suffering just because her daughter is suffering. Gabi argues that nobody has to suffer as she won't add to her daughter's pain and she will do whatever it takes to save their child after they get her out of here.

Julie questions Eli having a pity party. Valerie points out that he's a little hungover. Julie tells Eli to snap out of it as he's finally free of Gabi while Lani is still madly in love with him. Eli reminds Julie that she was Gabi's biggest fan until a couple of days ago. Julie admits Gabi fooled her too. Eli reminds Julie of how she treated Lani. Julie says they all felt that way after Lani left Eli at the altar but now they all know how wrong that was. Julie knows Lani did it because she loves Eli so much and she didn't want Gabi to hurt him.

Abe doesn't understand why Lani can't be with Eli since they loved each other. Lani tells him that she never stopped loving Eli. Abe says now he knows that she left him out of love so that should change everything. Lani wishes it could be that simple but a year has gone by and they are different people so she doesn't know if they will ever get back the love they had before.

Sonny thanks Evan and says Arianna really connected with him on their play dates with David. Sonny starts to tell him an old story but brings up Will and apologizes. Evan knows he has his hands full with Gabi but asks if Sonny got a chance to talk to Will about the divorce papers which he confirms.

Victor instructs Xander to tell Maggie that she's wrong but Xander says she's not. Xander confirms that he was on his way to find Sarah when he saw Maggie's car and he called Victor to bring her home but she's making a huge leap, insisting she had nothing to do with the accident. Maggie questions why they kept it from her for a whole year instead of just telling her that she was on the road that night. Xander says it didn't seem relevant. Maggie argues that Adrienne died while she wasn't at the hospital when her granddaughter was born. Xander says they brought her home for her safety and luckily no one was hurt. Maggie points out that Adrienne died. Xander says that was because of Will, who was already there when he arrived at the scene and admitted the whole thing. Victor questions why Will would admit to killing Sonny's mother if it weren't true.

Sonny explains to Evan that Will said the divorce papers were confiscated as part of the investigation into Ben's escape. Evan feels that doesn't make sense. Sonny says Will said they took everything from his cell to be sure. Evan asks if he will get them back. Sonny mentions hearing at the police station that Ben turned himself in, so hopefully they will return Will's stuff. Evan hopes so because he knows it's been painful for him and admits he's really ready for Sonny to be divorced.

Abe talks about seeing how tortured Eli was when Lani left so he thinks Eli would give anything for another chance. Lani tells him it's really hard for Eli to process as he spent a year hating her and falling in love with Gabi. Lani doesn't know if it's that easy to turn your feelings on and off. Abe questions if she's saying that Eli still has feelings for Gabi after everything she did.

Eli states that Lani lied to him. Julie reminds him that it was to save her life. Eli argues that Lani could've come to him instead of humiliating him and ruining his life. Eli says she could've trusted that together they'd find a way to stop Gabi. Valerie argues that Gabi is the only villain here. Julie is thankful that Lani and JJ stopped Gabi from getting control of her new pacemaker. Eli assures that he's grateful for what Lani did. Julie encourages him to show some understanding to Lani. Julie declares that Gabi is finally going to find out that payback is as much of a bitch as she is.

Eric questions Gabi expecting them to get her out of these charges. Gabi tells him to talk to the district attorney. Sarah questions if she wants them to explain how she's blackmailing them. Gabi says that the state has a clear choice to make, take her or set her free so she can give bone marrow to their daughter. Eric calls her out of control. Gabi argues that it's within the D.A.'s power to save Mackenzie so if he's not willing to do what it takes to make that happen, then her death will be on his hands and not hers.

Lani tells Abe that she didn't become a nun but if she learned that if they want God to forgive their trespasses then they have to forgive those who trespass against them. Abe asks if that includes Gabi. Lani says sometimes you don't fall out of love with someone just because they hurt them. Abe argues that Gabi didn't just hurt Eli, she lied to him every second and nearly killed his grandmother. Lani says she's not comparing what Gabi did to what she did but she hurt Eli too. Abe says he can't possibly hold this against her. Abe decides he will go talk to Eli if he doesn't understand. Lani says that Eli's heart has been broken badly twice so she can't just expect him to feel how he did before she left him at the altar. Abe asks what's fair to Lani. Lani asks Abe to give Eli the space to heal as she can't push him. Abe states that if Eli has any common sense, he'll come around on his own. Lani hopes he's right as he hugs her. Abe tells her that he will let her know if Gabi decides to take the plea or take her chances in court. Lani thanks him. Abe is just glad she's back and asks her to promise to come to him if she gets in trouble again, no matter what. Lani promises and says she loves him so much as Abe then exits.

Eli tells Julie that he hates what Gabi did to her but he was with her for a year and he loved her. Julie responds that true love is based on trust and Gabi did nothing but lie to him so whatever he felt for her wasn't real. Julie says that Gabi stole a year of his life so he can't let her stop him for another moment from being with Lani. Valerie agrees that Eli needs to be with Lani now.

Eric and Sarah exit the interrogation room. Sarah can't believe that Gabi might go free after what she did to Julie. Eric says it's not right but all that matters right now is saving their little girl's life. Sarah asks what kind of person uses a baby's life as a bargaining chip.

Gabi remarks that she's sorry to little Mickie but she's gotta do what she's gotta do so she hopes her parents love her enough to save them both.

Sonny tells Evan that with what he's dealing with, he doesn't know if he's ready to be involved with anyone. Evan says he understands and would never push. Sonny adds that he's been amazing, patient and he loves spending time with him. Sonny decides he should go check on Arianna but he'd love to see Evan tomorrow. Evan says he would like that too as they kiss. Sonny thanks him for listening and then exits. Evan then picks up a letter from the mail and it's to Rafe, saying it's their second attempt to reach him about the issue with Evan's background check and to contact them as soon as possible, leaving Evan looking worried.

Maggie doesn't think Will lied about causing the accident, she doesn't think he knew. Victor questions how he could not know. Maggie says that Will always said he didn't remember crossing into the other lane so he just assumed that he did it because there was no other explanation. Victor argues that he was texting and driving. Maggie shouts that she was drinking and driving. Xander suggests she let it go because Will plead guilty and it's been decided. Maggie questions pretending she wasn't on the road that night when Sarah always said the car that ran them off the road that night was black like hers. Maggie asks if it was a dream or a hallucination as she breaks down crying, realizing that she killed Adrienne.

Lani thinks back to kissing Eli and then Eli shows up at the door.

Julie and Valerie have wine and toast to each other for finally convincing Eli to go see Lani and to Gabi finally getting what she deserves. Abe then enters. Julie says they are drinking to justice. Abe informs them that he just learned that Gabi rejected a plea deal to serve ten years. Julie says she can't possibly think she will win in a trial. Abe says she's confident she will beat the charges. Julie says she could never convince a jury. Abe says Gabi must know that so he's worried that she's up to something.

Eric returns from speaking to the district attorney about needing Gabi to be released to donate bone marrow to Mickie but informs Sarah that he said he wouldn't even consider it.

Evan trashes the letter from the mail then makes a call, saying he's in trouble and needs their help.

Maggie realizes she killed Adrienne while Victor and Xander covered it up and let Will take the blame, sending an innocent man to prison for something she did. Victor finally admits it was Maggie and says she made a mistake but it's over and done with now. Maggie asks what about Will. Victor informs her that Will knows the truth and agreed to keep quiet. Maggie asks why. Xander says it's the same reason they kept quiet, to protect her. Maggie realizes that's why Will wanted to see her and was asking questions about that night. Victor says Will just found out about it but until now, he believed he was the one that drove Adrienne and Sarah off the road. Maggie cries that Will has given up his whole life. Victor declares that it was Will's choice so no one needs to know that Maggie is the one that really killed Adrienne as Sonny walks in and questions what he heard.
