Rafe and Roman are at the cafe in Prague, talking about Gina and Stefano likely working together while John and "Steve" are not answering their phones.

John remains locked up with "Hope", trying to escape.

Marlena remains locked in the hideout with "Steve". "Steve"/Stefano texts Dr. Rolf that getting Marlena to accept John's "death" is proving harder than he thought and tells him to proceed with giving her what she needs to move on. Marlena tries getting the window open as an escape but can't.

Justin and Kayla make dinner at home when Ciara shows up crying. Kayla hugs her and asks what's wrong.

Clyde joins Ben in the prison visiting area. Ben informs him of his upcoming lethal injection and says he's been asked what he wants for his last meal.

A plate of food is delivered to John and "Hope". "Hope" tries to catch the door but it locks as she argues they can't leave them in there.

Dr. Rolf texts Stefano back that it won't be long before he sends what he asked for. Marlena comes over and questions what he is keeping from her.

Ciara tells Justin and Kayla that it's Ben. Justin guesses she heard that the judge set Ben's execution date. Ciara apologizes for barging in but she needed someone to talk to and she left her mom messages but she must be busy on a case. Kayla assures that she's always here for her. Ciara mentions being so grateful for the work Justin did in trying to exonerate Ben. Ciara asks Justin if he's sure there is nothing they can do to stop this. Justin wishes there was but he has no evidence to present. Ciara understands he did everything he could and blames herself. Ciara says that Ben might be free right now if she didn't waste all that time trying to prove that Victor and Xander killed Jordan and framed Ben for it. Ciara talks about Ben being terrified that Jordan would hurt her again when she got released from Bayview so Ben went to Victor to try to get Jordan locked up again. Ciara thought after Jordan tried to poison her, Victor went to the extreme. Justin informs Kayla of their theory that Victor and Xander were behind it. Ciara says it turns out that they had nothing to do with Jordan's murder. Kayla asks how she knows that. Ciara say she was looking for evidence to prove they did it for months but it was all circumstantial so she finally confronted them and they insisted they are innocent. Kayla questions taking them at their word. Ciara says normally she would agree but assures that in this case, they were definitely telling the truth and she was dead wrong so now Ben will have to pay the ultimate price for her mistake.

Clyde reminds Ben that he told him not to trust the system, Justin, and Ciara. Ben tells him to save it as he needs to think about what he wants to eat before they strap him down and stick a needle in his arm. Clyde wants Ben to admit that he needs his help. Ben questions how he can help him now. Clyde responds that he still plans on busting out of prison and asks if Ben wants to join him.

"Hope" questions how they will get out of here. John refuses to give up and tells her to think about Ciara. "Hope" thanks him and hugs him. "Hope" decides they should eat the plate of food for energy but John stops her and warns that there's a damn good chance that Stefano laced it with poison.

Roman tells Rafe that he's starting to think that Stefano set a trap for John and Steve and they walked right into it. Tony and Anna then arrive and greet them. Tony remarks that it seems everyone from Salem is coming looking for Stefano DiMera.

Marlena thought "Steve" said his phone had no reception. "Steve" claims he was trying to get a signal but had no luck and didn't want to get her hopes up. Marlena can tell he's lying to her so he then admits that he is because he wasn't sure she could handle what he's about to show her. "Steve" decides he can't keep the truth from her any longer..

John says that if Stefano killed Marlena, he doesn't have any reason to keep them alive. "Hope" insists they need to focus on keeping their strength up. "Hope" feels they can't survive without water so she drinks from the water bottle despite John trying to stop her. John warns that she shouldn't have done that. "Hope" says they don't both have to take the risk and soon they will know if the water is okay as John hugs her.

Tony tells Rafe and Roman about John informing him that he and "Steve" were in Prague in search of Stefano so he came from Vienna to meet him because he wants his father brought to justice just as much as they do. Roman questions Tony having information. Tony says he told them that Stefano reached out a few months ago for his stake in DiMera Enterprises but something strange happened as he refused to meet in person. Rafe asks if he gave his shares. Anna says that Tony gave them to Chad to help him bring down Gabi. Roman asks if Tony is absolutely sure it was Stefano that contacted him. Tony says that he is. Rafe asks if John and "Steve" said what they were going to do. Tony says they didn't share their plans as their meeting was cut short. Anna adds that was because "Steve" was acting like a pompous ass.

"Steve" shows Marlena photos on his phone that are said to be of John after being shot. Marlena can't believe it but then says they can't be real. "Steve" responds that he knows that they are because he took them himself right after John was murdered. "Steve" tells her that he's afraid John is really gone.

Justin and Kayla invite Ciara to stay for dinner but she says she has no appetite. Kayla suggests she spend the night but Ciara says she doesn't have time to sleep. Ciara declares that Jordan's real killer is out there somewhere so she needs to find them or else Ben dies.

Ben tells Clyde that he doesn't want any part of his plan to break out of prison. Clyde brings up Ben taking the blame for another kid when he was younger and getting beaten for it. Clyde says now Ben is making the same mistake but this time there is no coming back. Clyde asks if Ben is willing to let them kill him for something he didn't do. Ben responds that his fate is sealed. Clyde argues that he still has a choice as they can break out, get Ciara, and never look back. Ben tells him to leave Ciara out of this.

Ciara tells Justin and Kayla that her entire mission right now is to clear Ben's name because he never should've been convicted. Kayla asks if there are any other leads if Victor and Xander are not suspects. Justin says he's looked over all the evidence multiple times. Justin decides they will set emotions aside and lay out all the facts one more time. Justin asks Ciara what Jordan was up to in the days and weeks before her murder. Ciara says Jordan was in Salem trying to frame Ben for the cabin fire then she came after her in the hospital with a syringe which is when they took Jordan to Bayview where she revealed her son David to Rafe. Ciara adds that after getting released, Jordan tried to kill her with a poisoned cupcake and tried to frame Ben but this time everyone was onto her so she ran away with her baby. Justin adds that the assumption was that Jordan broke into the DiMera gatehouse to make another attempt on her life but instead, she ended up strangled with a scarf. Ciara says that Ben then went to prison. They conclude that Jordan had two goals; hurt Ciara and get her baby back. Kayla notes that both of those failed and can't imagine David's life being raised by Jordan. Kayla is grateful to Rafe for stepping up and taking care of the baby. Ciara asks what if David's father had something to do with Jordan's murder.

Rafe questions "Steve" being rude to Anna. Tony clarifies that he wasn't just rude but cruel. Roman asks what happened. Anna explains that she told John that she didn't want Tony to have anything to do with Stefano ever again and then "Steve" got so mad at her, telling her to shut up and calling her names. Anna says she asked why "Steve" had a problem with her trashing Stefano. Rafe says that Steve hates Stefano like the rest of them. Tony says that is why they were surprised when "Steve" got offended and defended Stefano then admitted how much he admired Stefano, which shocks Roman and Rafe.

Marlena questions why "Steve" would take those horrible pictures of John. "Steve" says he had to document John's death to have evidence to prove what Stefano did to him. Marlena questions why he doesn't have a scratch on him. "Steve" says he doesn't know since he somehow managed to escape with his life. Marlena asks if it's true then that John is really gone and she's never going to see him again.

John wishes "Hope" didn't drink the water. "Hope" says she's fine but worries about John. John says he has to keep working on trying to escape. "Hope" encourages him to rest. John admits he's dehydrated so he decides to drink from one of the water bottles.

Ciara brings up never knowing who David's father was. Justin says Jordan never identified him so there was no way they could find him and asks if Jordan ever said anything about him. Ciara says all Rafe told her was that Jordan got really upset when he brought it up and refused to talk about it. Kayla knows that Jordan had her baby in California and asks if they really think David's father came here to kill Jordan.

Clyde says he's using CIara as motivation for Ben but Ben argues that Ciara is the reason he doesn't want to do this with him because if he busts out, she'll come looking for him. Ben questions offering Ciara a life on the run. Clyde suggests they could be the next Bonnie & Clyde.

Rafe thanks Tony and Anna for filling them in. Roman says to let them know if they hear from John, "Steve", or Stefano. Tony says they will but Anna says they won't. They step aside where Anna explains that she finally has Tony back and they are happy together far away from the whole DiMera mess so there's no reason for him to get drawn back in. Rafe argues that there is a reason and informs them that they are fairly certain that Stefano somehow convinced Hope that she is Princess Gina and that she has taken Marlena hostage.

Marlena can't believe John is dead. "Steve" tells her that he's here for her and that he promised John that he would keep her safe as his dying wish. "Steve" hugs her as she breaks down crying.

John continues trying to break the bars off the window, saying soon they will be free on the streets of Prague and get a phone. John then drops to his knees. "Hope" rushes to ask if he's alright. John claims that he's fine.

Justin says they have no idea who David's father is so they have no idea if he ever came to Salem. Ciara knows it's a long shot but with the way Jordan reacted when Rafe brought him up, there has to be bad blood. Kayla notes that a father kept from his child is a possible motive. Justin calls it speculation. Ciara wants to find out for sure and says there has to be a way to track him down. Kayla adds that even if he's innocent, he might know someone who wanted Jordan dead. Justin thinks they are grasping at straws here. Ciara feels it's a chance to save Ben so Justin agrees to talk to his contacts in California to see what they can find out.

Ben reminds Clyde that Bonnie & Clyde went down in a hail of gunfire and he's not putting Ciara in any more danger. Ben says Ciara has defended him to everyone even when all the evidence pointed to him. Ben says Ciara has done everything she can to help so he can't ask her to do this. He can't expect her to just give up her life to be with him. Ben hopes maybe someday they can be together as he has to hold onto that hope otherwise none of this means anything. Ben calls Ciara his reason for wanting to live but he can't ask her to do this. Clyde says that sounds like Ben is in and asks if he's going to bust out with him.

John tells "Hope" that the water was drugged. She points out that it must have only been the bottle he drank from.

Tony worries about Marlena and asks if there's any idea where she may be. Tony explains that they think Gina brought her to Prague on Stefano's orders. Tony notes that Stefano would do anything to possess Marlena. Rafe declares that they will stop him but they are running out of time and need all the help they can get. Tony calls Marlena a dear friend so he will do anything he can to save her from Gina and Stefano. Anna reluctantly agrees. Tony decides they will stay in Prague until Marlena is returned safely. Tony says they will let them know if they get any information as Tony and Anna then exit the cafe. Rafe tells Roman that what Anna said about Steve is really bugging him. Roman remarks that Anna does rub people the wrong way. Rafe says that doesn't sound like the Steve he knows so he's thinking Hope isn't the only person not acting like herself.

"Steve" assures Marlena that he's here for her and anything she needs. Marlena pulls away from him and questions what he's doing.

"Hope" encourages John to stay awake. John's vision gets blurred and he starts to imagine seeing her as Marlena.

Ben tells Clyde that he doesn't want to die. Clyde asks if he will break out with him then. Ben nods so Clyde assures it's the right decision and in a few days, he'll be a free man.

Justin and Kayla have dinner together. Kayla talks about a lot of people having mixed feelings about Ben Weston but she is so moved by Ciara's passion and dedication to him which she calls incredible. Justin responds that when you love someone, you fight for them and never give up.

Ciara walks through the town square and answers a call from the prison, assuming it's Ben, but it's Clyde who tells her not to hang up because they need to have a chat.

Roman tells Rafe that Steve was brainwashed to be Stefano's soldier before so he asks if he thinks it happened again. Rafe points out that "Hope" is the one who brought "Steve" back to Salem so it's possible they are working together. They conclude that if Stefano also compromised Steve then John is in as much danger as Marlena.

Marlena questions "Steve" as to how he could just stand there when the monster who killed his best friend is still out there. Marlena orders him to promise that they will get out of here together and when they do, they will get revenge on that murdering son of a bitch. "Steve" responds that together they will see that justice is done and no matter what, he will always be there for her as he then grabs Marlena and kisses her.

John envisions seeing "Hope" as Marlena so "Hope"/Gina tells John to make love to her right here and now as she kisses him.
